Figured I could post something, but I have so many that it's just easier to put everything in one thread rather than flood the board. I've got upwards of thirty ideas that I would like to give some attention at some point, but for now I'll just stick with the ones that are much closer to being developed. My channel can be found at Drahveson, though it currently only houses one series. Most of the things here will definitely see light in the near future, but I never make promises.
DECEMBER
This is one of my oldest ideas, which dates back to a very stupid audio file I recorded one day out of boredom, and a concept picture I created alongside it. I planned for it to be a silly sort of cartoon thing, as it was created before I was actually involved with fanime. It's changed a lot since then, but the premise is mostly the same. The story centers around an unlikely bunch of criminals chasing their ultimate score, which may or may not get them into something they never anticipated. While comedy was originally the main focus, and still plays an important part in the story telling, I've since decided to add a focus on action sequences as well. I have a basic outline of the story and characters, but there currently is no script. I expect it could be as long as a year before any episode show up, and there will only be about ten or so.
I'll skip the horrible voice work for now, but here's the original concept picture:
And a few modern images:
Creatively, I have a lot planned for it, but the project is in a very, very early stage.
Evan and Eve
This one is a series that would focus on extremely short, weekly episodes. It's one of those 'laugh at yourself' type skits that present real issues I've dealt with in a retrospective and entertaining way. It'll feature an animated rendition of myself, which will be complemented by the ubiquitous character Eve. I have several episodes scripted already, so it's only a matter of animating them at this point, which isn't something that'll take very long considering the nature of the show.
Naturally I will be voicing my self, but I'd planned to use a different female voice for each episode featuring Eve. It seems like something fun to do - a way to get the audience involved, assuming there is one.
I have a talent for never properly finishing my concept art, so here's an incomplete shot of Eve and my 'persona' in the style that they'll be drawn:
Ainia
This is what I would have worked on next if I hadn't decided to work on DECEMBER instead. It's a fantasy story about Ania; a religious girl (with magic powers, of course) who must make a pilgrimage across the land in order to complete her trials and become a proper member of her order. She barely gets far before being tricked by the detached spirit Aina, who (for lack of a better word) possesses her so that the two share a body. Aina was a member of a less holy order that's most easily described as evil, so she doesn't exactly get along well with her new companion. The important details in the story are mostly planned, but there is currently no script yet.
Here's some more unfinished concept art - my specialty!
Aina
And the currently faceless Ania... Did I mention I'm bad at clothes?
One of my favorite parts of this idea is that - since the two main characters share a body - one actress would be playing both parts. It'd probably be hard to find just the right voice since I can be pretty particular, but that performance will be what sells the show more than anything.
Cursed
Curs-ED. The emphasis is on the ED. Just to be clear.
This is an idea I've had for nearly five years, though I don't know if it will go anywhere any time soon. I only bothered adding it here because it's one of my longest-standing projects, and certainly one of the most planned. It tells the story of Nina, who is a conflicted young woman who finds herself in a world that doesn't particularly care for her kind. It's a very dark fantasy story with several themes that I probably shouldn't have been writing when I was fifteen. Ultimately, this project is on hiatus due to the massive amount of work it requires. The story isn't even finished, and it has a ton of depth that could take several hours of animation to portray. I certainly want to finish it some day, but I'm not working on it right now.
Here are some images.
A concept for the voice actor credits in the intro, whereas 'VOICE' would be replaced with the actor's name. The character shown is Curse, but she doesn't normally look that young.
This was the concept I came up with for the logo screen at the end of the intro. The finished version would be animated, with the hanging woman swinging down and spreading her wings before freezing in this position. The silhouette represents Alissa, who may or may not be the antagonist depending on how you look at her.
And here's another picture of Curse. It's a slightly unfinished sketch, as the 'x' lines behind her are supposed to be chains. Curse is, like, my favorite character in the story, so I have way more pictures of her than anyone else. She's a defective telekinetic who can only use telekinesis on her own body. Seeing potential in her, Alissa fashioned her a set of chains with hollow links that are filled with her (Curse's) blood, which enables her to control them. Since she can control herself, Curse also has the ability to heal any injury instantaneously, and she loves (as depicted) to tear herself apart. She's actually only wearing a two piece outfit and a massive pair of boots here. It's kind of hard to portray in a colorless sketch, but the rest of those markings are scars that she wears like tattoos. The patterns change on occasion. Did I mention I love this character?
These are just a few of the projects I have. I'll probably add more to this as I start working on them, but I've got a lot to do with just the ones here, so that won't be any time soon. There's also another series that I'm currently working on which I shall not make mention of.
Feel free to ask any questions about any of this crazy stuff, or otherwise post comments.
