hi, guys~ i was in the middle of doing some work on my project when i started thinking about all of the people who have influenced me and my art / writng process. (one of them being the amazing director Akiyuki Shinbou [who's primarily an anime director], others being Spencer Wan, Akio Watanabe [yes, this guy. fIGHT ME], the group CLAMP [again, f ig h t m e], among many others.) this got me wondering about all of you animators: which artists / animator / creators—if any—inspire you, influence you, or just plain tickle your fancy?

I personally love the russian/canadian artist Svetlana Chmakova, her art is so pretty and her style just inspires me to no end. She's also a cutie patootie! On the other hand, the artist of the Lucky Star manga, Kagami Yoshimizu's art is also very good. Along with those, I really like Noizi Ito's art, The team of Trigger's(animation company) art style, and the manga artists Kanae Hazuki and Yamamori Mika. <3 Yamamori Mika actually inspires me a ton to work on making my male characters to look just as beatiful! The Trigger team inspires me to no end with their style of animation and the skill behind it! Kagami makes me wanna draw cute little girls pfft...!

about the fanimator thing: my bad, haha. I'll change it~ but omg Studio Trigger is love <3 i mainly know of them through most of the team's prior connections to GAINAX (another animation studio whom i love), but yessss. and i remember svetlana~ (when i look at your style i can kind of see the influence a little, now that you've said it lol.) one thing i think is pretty cool is that you have quite a bit of shoujo artists as influencers; i'm a closet shoujo fan so .... asdfghjkl. (though this is just an assumption, correct me if that's not the case ><;

oh man hmmm, what influences me... it's kinda hard to pinpoint them because i just draw from so many different things that i look at haha. Studio Mir (Legend of Korra), Studio Ghibli, Wit Studio (with Attack on Titan), and Studio Trigger (Little Witch Academia, i've still never seen kill la kill haha). All of these have very complex styles that they manage to animate beautifully. A big criticism of anime style in terms of animation is how complex it is, which in turn makes things more difficult to animate, and yet these places pull it off stunningly. I've started watching a lot of movies for the sake of seeing how things move, and how things are composed, and after learning a bit more about their process from my internship I've been trying to learn to apply it with my own stuff (well hopefully my new stuff sdsdf a little too late for some of the scenes ahaha) When I was first starting off with drawing anime as a kid I was influenced heavily by Naoko Takeuchi, CLAMP, and Arina Tanemura, whose influence I think you can still see with some of my characters (especially my females, or characters with a lot of hair haha). Currently I'm honestly just influenced by a lot of work I see on the internet (i see stuff and go wO W I WANT TO TRY THAT), but David Rapoza and Shilin are two names that come immediately to mind, although I guess they're more of inspiration and less of influence? idk I just like analyzing how they do their work

I'm influenced by a lot of 90s to early 2000s shojo manga. Pastels, ribbons, J-POP idol culture, eroge and crafts like wool and decor. Also magical girl things hehe. Just anything really cute! In terms of Space Ranger Rinel it was influenced by a lot of low budget anime shows. Normally you'd think I'd be influenced by the higher quality shows but for example the Parappa the Rapper anime and Ojamajo Doremi made me develop this kinda of pop-ish, jerky animation style.
I like the anime studios, Kyoani and Toei Animation(sometimes..)as well as others that I can't remember. Outside anime I like the older cartoon shows.

I'm influenced by many people- a lot coming from the fanime community. my main influences in the fanime communities are Arenia, PilotObvious, Evan, MJBYY... other than those, I'm influenced by the webcomic Warrior University. As for cartoons, I'm majorly influenced by TMNT, Teen Titans, Dungeons and Dragons Cartoon(1980s), and Xiaolin Showdown. Animes... I'd say I'm influenced by Naruto and Kyo-ani.

A lot of the ideas that I come up with are inspired by Naruto and Bleach. A lot of the artwork I make is Bleach inspired, and Naruto has influenced a lot of my characters. I also like the animations made by Trigger like almost everyone else here lol.

Speaking of more influences and inspiration... mewDoubled is one of my top inspiring people that I occasionally forget about lol. A month ago she shared a bunch of her sketchbooks and just wow. You have to check it out, and if you're like me you'll wanna pick up a sketchbook and start drawing too. She is phenomenal and totally deserves to make a career out of her beautiful art work.

My influences are somewhat similar to Arenia in some areas. Wit Studio, Studio Mir (Legend Of Korra being that reason), Studio Ghibli, Studio Trigger and then Toei Animation.
Animes that influence me are DBZ, Naruto, Fairy Tail and Attack On Titan. Cartoon would definitely be Legend Of Korra. Then there are solo animators in and outside of fanime who influence me . . .quite a lot to be honest. Mellavelli and Smyton4tw are my maaaain influences at the moment!

for style and drive to create, Pokemon, mostly~ I grew up with it, along with Archie Comics and Ghibli films. More recent times: I'm a big Bee and Puppycat fan, so Natasha Allegri probably influenced me to think a little bit outside the box when it came to transformations and sidekick characters. And a lot of my role models are just shoujo manga artists. I also have a lot of people I met on deviantart to thank for encouraging me to continue... whatever the heck I was doing for so long. (×_×;)

My style is like a mix of western cartoon and anime.
With te anime side, I was inspired by Lucky Star but as years go by, I was inspired by Toei Animation from the 90s Sailor Moon. That's pretty much it.
As for the western side, it's pretty much the Fairly Odd Parents (mainly with the noses) and Tiny Toons.
Story wise, It's mainly Koge-Donbo with the Di Gi Charats. And Key with shows like Clannad.
