So... um... I have a habit of just kinda making stuff and putting it up out of nowhere, but I'm really nervous about this project in particular, so I'd like some feedback or something maybe please?
I've had these characters for a very very long time, and I've wanted to do something with them, but I didn't know what medium to do it with. So I kept the story and characters floating around without a goal until I had an epiphany. "It takes me a reeeeally long time to make episodes of Akuji Tavarious. I'll make this story into a fanime series with short episodes! Yes! Great."
Not great. This story is more of a slice of life fanime, so now I'm worried that the characters won't be able to hold people's attention by themselves until the plot kicks in. And trust me, it takes a looong time for the plot to kick in. I'm afraid character interaction won't be interesting enough to see as a series.
I guess I'll give a VERY basic plot summary, and then see what you all think for now.
The plot focuses on two friends that have been friends since Elementary school. One of them is brutally honest at all times, sometimes to the point of sounding rude. The other is a compulsive liar, which makes it hard for him to keep friends. They're in university together now, and the liar wants to start a club so that the two of them can make new friends. This leads to all sorts of new and weird people meeting the two main characters, and hijinks ensue. Everyone has secrets, everyone has heartache, and when the plot kicks in, everyone will be effected.
So far I have over a minute (out of about 4 minutes) animated, and I've cast every character with a fitting voice. I've also written scripts for 7 episodes, and I plan on more. Here is the opening theme: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-W39RtQeTI
Basically what I'd like to know is whether or not a series with this premise sounds like something that will hold your attention or not. I'm still gonna go through with it, I just would rather feel more excited to finish this episode than as terrified as I'm feeling. It's like sending a kid on their first day of school. "Will the other kids like my kid, or should I consider home-schooling to protect my precious baby?! DX"
Anyway... yeah. ._. /rantend
