As we all know, we were all inspired to do something by something else. So, I wonder, what has inspired your series or project? I'll start with all of my Projects since I made this thread. (Cause I'm a piece of crap.) With Carrot Fluffs, it's mainly Di Gi Charat, though later down the line, it also has the Clannad and old Final Fantasy to it. (It's going to be episodic for the Di Gi Charat-ness will come back) With Mi-Pie.. well, let's face it. EVERYTHING THAT WAS GOING ON IN THE SKYPE GROUP AT THE TIME! Nuff said. Pilka's Short Adventure is pretty much inspired by the earlier pages of Homestuck (shamefully so.) Genko Hates Her Life is pretty much been inspired from Evan hating his life. THAT'S IT. XD As for Penallty All About, there is actually a long history with how it got inspired. It's started out with TvTropes. It has an article called " web novel". And this was during the time when I grown sick of trying to work hard in my fanfiction. (Especially with a crossover that doesn't make any sense.) During the time, I wrote crap down as I go along. (And for some reason, it still work.) It's mainly inspired from Di Gi Charat and Married with Children. ( and a bit of homestuck humor, minus death.) EDIT TO ADD SOMETHING: As for the Two Magical Scouters, honestly, it was inspired by Yay! Cat Evan's Future! and how my friends persona character.

Tokyo Fetish Mew was inspired by a chat I had with Evan and Arenia. Don't think any of us expected it to be a thing until I saw Bibliotechnical and thought I want to do this too.
It's pretty funny cause what made me want to do it was the song Twinkle Snow Powdery Snow. I heard it at a convention and thought this would make a great opening song. So I made Tokyo Fetish Mew to make an opening. Basically. Now look what it's become.
Doki Doki Dick Squad on the other hand had its inception in August last year, I think. We were planning a 24-hour fanime challenge, and that's all it was going to be. A quick 1 minute thing with a shitty rap done by me. But after watching and listening to some Flight Of The Conchords I played around with the idea and decided I want to recreate this show with magical girls and shitty (or shittier? lol) rap skills. And thus was born unto the world.
A lot of my other stories were spur of the moment things, honestly. None of them are interesting enough for discussion here.

ooo very cool! I've had my project, The Antagonist, for a while. Lots of things have changed since it's first concepts, but the original was based somewhat on D-Gray Man. : ^ ) The theme carries on a bit a suppose, but not too much. I tend to avoid basing any of my series around other preexisting series because I like to think I'm original (LMAO) I'm sorta in the development stages for a horror-ish short animated series, this was inspired recently by a miniseries "The Look Of Knowing" which was made by CutiePieMarzia and a bunch of other people idk I can't credit them all, haha. You can watch the thing here though: www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvOTJy_NWGAI really liked the style, dramatic angles, and overall feel of the series, so I really wanted to do something similar!

I haven't been posting much lately. Well, first when I was quiet and away from the internet for a couple years since I stopped 2013, well in the end of 2014 somewhere in mid-late 2014 I had my idea pop up in my brain and listen to this groovey AOR rock song call "She's Out with A Gun" by Van Zant, thought of it theme song for Kaygeta my pokemon female oc's and along with her friends (Jenny Same - Sonic human citizen character, Salley Mas - Sailor Moon fan character, Sheika and Diana - pokemon female trainer oc) so I had this idea of my own development when I was drawing pics of them and including building and also "John Snack Bar" (hope you did see my first episode 1 video) and I had this idea call "Kaygeta & The Hotshot Gals" this fanime meets old school (of the 1980s-90's ish I guess) meet sitcom-ish little, well gerne is bit romance, comedy-ish, drama-comedy well I don't know but it was a original idea I came up, though it was going to be action-packed but not really so it about girls talking general things and they talk like girl stuff, hanging out to there friend John at his restaurant snack bar, I don't know really but John is the new fanime oc's male and alongside Sarah Richardson (both of them have a secret relationship) Oh ep 0 for Kaygeta & The Hotshot Gals was feature a cameo host guest of Zorma hate his life (inspired by Genko Hate Her Life - ChibiGissy ) Oh. Today of my Fanime OVA: Zorma Day with Sarah Richardson OVA was dedicated about reference and pop culture about baby sitting, that was inspired of old pop culture. Diana Boredom Days, not sure if it was inspired maybe it just thinking of a person (he or she) think of there flashback what they remember they do something good or bad. It's a first time doing a Fanime OVA I believe that my inspiration of my series/ project.

Well! I think a good majority of you know now at this point what inspired SeasonS. . .but I'll say it anyway since I grew up watching it! But yes DBZ is what gave it life of over 9,000! Fairy Tail and Naruto are also part of the inspire train. Anyway I didn't think of making a series until I'd began College when I'd started creating my characters about 6 or over years ago now.
Over time I'd make some fun little alternative scenarios for my characters which started to get me interested in what they would be like in an actual story.
It wasn't till I'd graduated from College in July 2013 that I was obsessed with the idea. Running up to the end of the year I'd started planning like a boss for it and eventually gave it a name. Come 2014 I'd started animating it and come summer I was able to grace the world with it!
This is as short as I can keep it really, not too much to read I hope. =D

Illuna used to be my persona back when she was named Arenia LMAO I wasn't originally going to mention my dark past but Justine was totally supposed to be my persona- though today she has little to do with myself, haha. I think it's pretty hard to admit one of your main characters was originally based on yourself, but I'm glad you did because I would of totally avoided it...hh hahha.... With Daniel, it has a small story behind it actually. A long time ago, one of my old friends wanted to make an "Alice of Human Sacrifice" PV (which, haha, still on the internet for some reason check it out. Pretty cringe worthy.) and she wanted to include both hers and my OCs. At the time, she needed a set of twins (represented by Rin and Len in the video) and so I decided to give my original design of Justine a twin so they could be represented in the video! So I guess you can say Daniel and Justine were originally Rin and Len knock-offs. Again, obviously this changed a BUNCH, but it's cool to look back on.

Tbh the whole post was kind of difficult to make!!! Its fun to look back on but mannn i already admitted most of my dark past already might as well lololol! (I think the part about natus name was hardest for me to admit lmaoo) Same here though, shes suuuper different from me now, when i changed her name to Illuna in 2004 it marked the end of her era as a persona

Hmmm, I have a lot of indirect influences and inspirations for Future Agents. I've addressed this many times before, but I'll try and make this post more concise and to the point. Originally, it was inspired by my 7th grade science class when we talked about nuclear waste disposal. The original FA had some environmental undertones, yadda yadda yadda. Amy was originally my persona, and Maddie was my friend's persona. (Arenia and Kori, I feel your pain... awkward 2008 moment)
All other renditions of Future Agents had various things that inspired them. The atmosphere of the show was inspired by my love of Ghost in the Shell (At the time, I couldn't understand the series, so just the futuristic feel, tone, etc.) Character interactions were mostly inspired by older television shows from the 70s and 80s (I'm specifically thinking of Emergency! and Star Trek TNG) I always liked the way the characters conversed with each other. I'm not sure how to explain it, unless you've seen both series in depth. The series is also influenced by the James Bond franchise. The whole "Secret Agent" concept... Umm, characters on the other hand.... Major Siren was originally supposed to be me as a Future Agent just for fun, but she turned into her own character. We share the red hair, brown eyes, and height, but we're completely different. Yellow Jacket was inspired by the Stig from Top Gear. Niles Pennington Jr.'s facial structure was inspired by the actor Dieter Laser (And Dr. No from 007)... Dr. Suzuki's facial structure was inspired by Jerry Springer. Vladimir Morris' character design was inspired by the Doctor from the Harvest Moon franchise... the one with the freaky eye. And he seems to have an eerily similar appearance to Earnst Blofeld from the 007 series, which happened subconsciously. I'm probably going to touch up the design to be honest. But Vlad also has a prosthetic arm, which I'm still designing/editing. By the end, that will probably have been inspired by several things too. -------- On the other hand, Run is completely inspired by the people around me. All of the character designs are completely based off of people in real life. That includes me, my family, my coaches (Who were also my brother's coaches), and my brother's college coaches/teammates. I'm trying to make it as accurate as possible, which requires some research on race times/locations, etc. I also have to look back at photos to see what everyone looked like back in 2011.

I awkwardly smooshed Danny Phantom, Spirited Away, D. Gray man and Gravity Falls into some sort of poorly rendered abomination!

I'm a little late to this thread I guess but yeah. MGS doesn't have anything especially deep about how it was come up with- I just made a bunch of character designs at once and now they are what they are. I guess it was inspired by sports anime (I was really into baseball and volleyball anime at the time) But I also wanted it to be fanime... so... obviously, magical girl. hahhhhhh
Jaden Unshaken was inspired by Power Puff Girls (funny thing, I barely watched/liked that as a kid), Teen Titans, Xiaolin Showdown, Naruto, and X-Men.

Interesting you mention that because I've been rewatching the PowerPuff Girls recently. As in... binge watching the entire series on Netflix instead of doing more important things. LOL But now I'm curious to see the correlation between PPG and JU. PPG was my childhood. I even had a birthday centered around PPG and I wore a red bow like Blossom. I think that was my 6th or 7th birthday... I still have the figurines from the cake too.

Omg literally the only things that were similar between PPG and JU (the original JU, TGG.) was the fact that there were 3 main characters with each respective color, red, green and blue. (though the personalities were alllll different)

OKAY SO I was listening to the Wicked soundtrack and it literally hit me:
I based The Antagonist's (season one) ending on one of the songs from the soundtrack. I won't tell you guys which song it is because of potential spoilers but yeah
The Antagonist is loosely based on Wicked. Welp

Late to the party but I need to procrastinate on stuff so ye I started this thing called Do You Really Love Me and I was inspired by other fanimes/fanimators like Super Ground, Akuji Tavarious (back in like 2009-10 that made me obsess over fanime) then I left the community then I came back in 2015 (this time with an account) and became inspired by the Fanime Updates, schribbit, and Melancholicdoves mostly. I'm not sure if inspiring is the same as motivating *shrug*
Also shoujo mangas I guess because why should you socialize when you can be surrounded by the sparkle sparkle and the doki doki
