I feel like I've answered this question a million times but apparently I haven't posted on this thread.
For DTMH there are several things that inspired the series: The very first thing that was the inspiration behind this idea was just wanting to make a school themed anime series. Thus created Epic Phail High which was a collaborative project that I worked on with funnybunnyjay. This however only ended up being a one episode comic which ended up okay, but kind of awkward because it was being written by one of us at a time. The teacher that jay created was so great in this series that I decided that he would make the teacher in the remade version of this school themed series. After the epic fail that Epic Phail was, I tried thinking of new ideas. The inspiration for a plot came from School Rumble. School Rumble also inspired the series by having comedic scenes that I enjoyed watching. Character designs were made up in the spot, and all at once. I remember making the character designs after watching Baka and Test since one of the designs was an obvious copy of the F students which I don't plan to use. What inspired me to actually make this series a fully animated animation was Kill me Baby. The fact that an anime series could be animated so simplistically made me believe that I could actually make a series look like an anime. It turns out that its not so simple though. Generally comedy anime that I've watched inspired the series. This would also include Pani Poni Dash, Sgt. Frog, and maybe Lucky Star. The series has also been and is continuing to be inspired by the fanime community.
Tokyo Magic Mew was inspired by a podcast discussion when I mentioned that there are certain words used a lot of times in the names of fanime series. If anybody finds when this discussion is then please send the time stamp to me lol.
Xiphos Blade was inspired by Terra Lucis, Kama the Legend/Theif with the medieval themes. The style, however, is inspired by Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

Well this is a very simple answer but.. Magical Girl school is what inspired me the most to create all my series, and for the designs steven universe and magical girl animes inspired me the most.

OKAY so uh, what got me into fanime in the first place was Illusions Dreams back in 2007. I also liked all the other magical girl/Mew Mew based fanimes, and having wanted to make my own animated show, I combined the elements of those fanime and Sailor Moon and made Pawprintz. Usually, I don't talk about Pawprintz, but I will briefly say that I was a little too inspired by ID as one of my characters looked eerily similar to hers, except mine could.... turn into a dragon, apparently, and I have no idea where that may have come from.
Since talking about my old fanime is giving me the heebie jeebies, I'll talk about Iter Rosarum instead. I think it's fairly obvious that it is inspired by Princess Debut (because all but two characters are from the game itself). Originally, this was going to be a webcomic where it would follow the plot of Princess Debut, but in order to avoid being an illustrated self-insert Princess Debut fanfic like the plenty overflowing on fanfiction.net, I would focus more on what the game did not, such as the characters' lives and goals and the concept of traveling through alternate dimensions. I love Princess Debut, but the game basically gave all the princes just a trace of a story/background and left the rest to the player's imagination (some did not get any background at all) and the whole traveling through universes is never really explored, so I thought, hey, I ought to remedy that.
I then realized that I much prefer drawing frames for an animation than creating intricate pages for a comic, so I renamed the series, changed Erisa's design as well as the princes', and here I am now. I was also inspired by two of my friends, one offline who got me into Princess Debut in the first place, and the other online who loves the game as much as I do, to go on with the series.
Somehow I feel like I didn't really answer the question, but whateva. (insert that indifferent shrugging emoticon)

My story Codename: Nefarious originated as a magical girl fanime (lawl). Thinking back my main inspiration was probably from the anime Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. I was obsessed with the weapon system and fighting style in that anime. I also took a lot of inspiration from the fanime community considering a lot of what it was back in the day that was popular was magical girl fanimes xD I had a lot of influence from my best friend that also introduced me to the fanimation community so that helped a lot having someone closeby inspiring me to make something creative and fun.
Now I think I take a lot of influence on not just a magical aspect but also more of a sci-fi aspect. I think the closest inspiration of things I've watched and been exposed to would be the anime Kiddy Grade. I've completely altered my story multiple times trying to give it life over the seven years I've had it (let's be honest there was no plot just characters at the start >3>) and now it's actually at a build-able place where I feel it's ready to expand upon. Anddd~ that's what I'm doing. Yep~
I love that just being in the fanimation community energizes everyone to go out and create their own new unique things~ it's lovely. <3
