I know NaNoWriMo is months away but I am SO pumped.
So who here is thinking of participating come November? Who's ready for some hardcore writing?
For the uninitiated, NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month (but it's since been spread worldwide). It's a competition where a person is required to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. It starts on November 1 and ends November 30. You can write it about anything you wish. Here's the website if you want more info: nanowrimo.org/
So here's a few questions. Have you ever participated in NaNoWriMo before? Have you ever won? Are you thinking of writing a story this year, and if so, what is the story about? Do you have a profile that I can add you on?
I've participated and won NaNoWriMo in 2012 and 2013. I took a break in 2014 but I'm doing it again this year. I want to write a story about mermaids (except it's not Tsuki No Ningyo). That's all I have so far, but I find I do fine without extensive planning. I'm flexible about it. My profile is Moonlight Wonders, and if you want to add me as a writing buddy, go ahead!
I know I'm jumping the gun here, but if there are people interested, we can even do something like have a Skype group or hangout where we discuss story progress and inspire each other. It can be pretty fun if we have some writers here! In fact, if we get enough people, we could have kind of an unofficial team of us writing and motivating each other. It could be like the Creative Studio team. Sounds pretty fun to me.
