Kisaka and Phoenix like this
Post by kilnfirelink on Oct 7, 2015 23:03:06 GMT -6
This update is hopefully going to be as interesting as just the animated
images I have been posting. anyway first things first, reply time~
As Kisaka just sold her sold to my pointless fan projects,
"if it helps any with your next project, I'm 100% interested in voicing anything!!"
A super big thank you to her there as she has a really cool VA demo.
Now onto this update.
I am going to be going over how I work a little as I think it may be interesting
and even if only a small bit help everyone get to know me as I lurk more than I comment.
This comes from my time as a "Drawfag" roaming around images boards before Nuciferyne invited me here.
So I do find it hard to get to know people a little as I don't talk enough and I am even more awkward in person.
But that doesn't mean I haven't enjoyed looking at everyone's work and the love and time they put into it and
it has even made me show my own to you guys and from what I can tell you guys have enjoyed what I have posted so far.
I is easy to tell I am a flash animator by the style my work ends up having regardless of how I draw.
I start off by drawing the main frames of the focus of movement, in this shot that is the arm and the bullets(projectile attack) used by the star of the animation Reimu.
The head having the least movement of left until last but that isn't also the way as I follow each part of the body based on
how much it moves and how its movement flows into the rest of the characters body and motion.
I try to use as many frames as I can and as least layers as possible as more layers means ever less frame rate
or less quality when working as a solo team and I would like to keep my frame rate as near to 24 fps as I can.
After I coloured this image I didn't feel like I could use in as a final part of the project like a lot of the other cut animation so far.
for that reason I have yet to add a background so I can still use it later with some clean up if I feel like it.
Now it may be obvious and extremely self evident that I wear my inspiration on my sleeve seeing how the
two projects I have posted are both fan project, the first one being Dark Souls and the Second being Touhou.
As redundant as it is to say this seeing how it now has an anime I wanted to do a Kantai Collection just as much
as I wanted to do this Touhou one. Both let you deal with a great space. Flying in the sky or darting across the water.
After lots of thinking about do I pick the very game that introduced me to fan animation or
do an animation of one of my all time favorite characters and well I went with Touhou.
This project is stressful and changeling to the point I am running out of work to post quicker than I can draw it
but it has only show me why I love animation and how fun I have had with the concept of stopped time.
As can be seen by looking back at all the frozen time 360 spins I have but into this animation so far.
I know at this point you might be thinking all this animation seems well planned and for the most part it is.
The the rest of the time things like poor file naming for scenes I am not sure where they are going to go leaves me with this.
For everything so far my work as been free hand without reference, normally when I get stuck I stand in front of a mirror
and act out as near to what I want to animate as I can leading me to look really... really stupid.
But in some cases that isn't always enough to go on for good reference or experience as I prefer to use for animation.
Because of this I have come to own and trained with a number of things I do not regret such as swords and rifles.
experiencing the wight of a "Great Sword" or the lack there of helped greatly when working with characters using weapons
like in my dark souls animation. A lot of the personal reference I have used so far for this animation has been jumping and
forcing myself to spin in mid air on a trampoline. It doesn't sound like much but it has really helped with some of the
flying style bits I have posted and yet to post so far. Even before typing this I know how silly it does all sound looking at it.
As I am sure some of my friends think both me and some of my ideas are.
But that hasn't stopped my strange requests.
Next time I hope to go more into what I use, like the tablet I own and what programs I use not just in this animation,
as I have changed myself to only use flash for this but in others as well.
I hope you liked this post and until next time~
