Well at least Alroth understood what was going on now. He had watched the whole fight between Daryn and Rylan, but without completely understanding it until they specified that it was a training match near the end. Prior to that - especially with Kama having mentioned betting - he was under the impression it was some kind of duel. A dueling club actually would have been more exciting than the reality. Alroth had been slaying fearen for a while, and he seemed to be alright without a guild so far. The way he saw it, surviving was easy. Protecting other people and helping them to survive was a lot harder. Did that concept even interest him? We shall have to find out. Kama rushed over as soon as he noticed what was going on. He observed Rylan and said "It doesn't seem like his life is in danger. We just need to stop the bleeding. Any of you guys a healer? A frost magician will work as well if any of you can freeze the wound opening shut. Alroth decided to follow Kama. He walked very clumsily off the steps, appearing to trip slightly, but recovering quickly enough that no one would notice if they weren't directly watching him at that time. The armor-clad fighter followed Kama slowly, paying Altheron no more than a few chuckles. Alroth stopped alongside the others around Rylan, and laughed a few times at the sight of the guy. "How did you get beaten by a sword user?!" he jeered. The outcome was clearly hilarious to him, but he stood straight up without moving an inch despite his extremely animated-sounding speech pattern.

"...we're all strong fighters who have plenty of experience taking on Fearen." Oxy let at a small squeal that was muffled by Celty's hood. Luckily Kama has taken off to go help the no-longer-glowing man who seemed to have collapsed. She took this chance to give Oxy a good shake. "Control your emotions," she hissed, although she doubt it would do much good. He was far to young to learn how to lie as well as his mother could. "You need to make friends with these people, Oxy. Or else you'll be alone." She turned back to the fights that were taking place and tried to decide who she thought the battles would be won by.

Daryn had a response in mind, but after seeing what this man could do in battle, she decided not to push her luck. Instead, she spoke aloud, to no one in particular, "I could also use something to numb the pain in my chest. But you know. Should probably, uh, heal the loser first."

Rylan began to come to. Upon opening his eyes and witnessing the many people around him, he immediately sprung up off the ground
"Uh...did I faint..? Sorry about that..."
The pain in his arms immediately came rushing back to him, causing him to wince a bit.
"We're done here, yeah? The woman won. Woo hoo, good for her, whatever. If you need me, I'll be inside the church."
Rylan pushed through the people around him and headed towards the church, hand over his arm.

Alroth laughed even harder as Rylan walked back into the church. His voice seemed to get higher during the particularly uncontrolled moments, yet no matter how hard he laughed his body did not move a single bit.

Rylan stopped. He turned to look at the armored figure, taken aback by the sound of his voice.
Was....was that really him? What on Ignis is with that man's voice..?
He began walking back towards the small group, eyebrow raised.
"I'm sorry, I must have missed the joke. What's so funny?"

Celty turned towards Rylan as he walked past, noticing how weak he looked. If there was a time to try and makes friends, it would be now, when they were less likely to try and pick a fight if she didn't chose her words carefully. She followed Rylan into the church, Oxy still on her back. She tried to smile, but it probably looked more like a grimace. She couldn't remember the last time she had actually smiled. Fearen's didn't show emotion the same ways as other species, and she barely remembered anything more than the occasional scowl during those months.
"H-Hello." Her voice sounded incredibly forced, but she was doing her best. "We haven't been introduced. My name is Celty, and the little one on my back is Oxy. We were watching your fight just now."
Lol I posted late.

"She didn't even use magic!" he laughed. Alroth was definitely laughing at Rylan. Somehow the man's defeat was absolutely hilarious to the armored warrior.
A firefly flew by.
"Oh!" Alroth said, suddenly not laughing anymore. He seemed to jolt and finally begin moving, only to immediately begin laughing again - this time actually moving his body a way one would expect, nearly doubling over.

"Shouldn't that say more about me than it does about him?" Daryn finally spoke up. "I've survived this long with just my sword. This guy was taken down with just a few slices." She turned towards Rylan. "How did you survive for so long, if you're weakened so quickly?"

Altheron shifted to his other side to get a look at the source of where all the commotion behind him was coming from.

"I wasn't brought down by YOUR sword, you idiot." Rylan snapped.
"My magic derives from the prayers I use, and considering your sorry state, I used a small one because I thought this battle would end quickly. But clearly I underestimated you, which was my fault. And because I used such a small prayer, I only had so much time to use my magic before it took a toll on my body. The longer the prayer, the more power I have at my disposal."
He walked up, now in Daryn's face.
"Trust me, if I had launched my last attack, our little scuffle would've had a MUCH different outcome."
Rylan put his hands in his pockets, pulled out a roll of bandages and began wrapping his arms back up.
"If you have anything else to say, I suggest you say it now. Otherwise, I'll be heading back to the church."

Everything Rylan said only added to the hilarity. For Alroth, anyway, who laughed even harder.

Daryn looked away. "Well. It doesn't change the fact that I won. Even if it was just by default. As for me... I guess I'll just go wait on the steps." She started to walk toward the church steps.

"You're absolutely right. You DID win. It must feel great winning by default. A real honor, yes?"
Rylan ignored Alroth's laughter and began walking towards the church as well.

Enoch followed Gaynor to the right side of the church, surveying the area as they moved. Flat, less populated, and without obstacles. This would do. "I'm not the type to attack first, so I'll let you do that honor." She said, now walking backward into the open area. "Let's see what that fancy stick of yours is capable of." He chuckled, a bit surprised. "It would be my pleasure," he replied, holding his weapon in front of him. To be honest, he was slightly taken aback by the expectation that he would initiate the battle. Fighting was already not his strongest point. Without any sort of combat elements under his belt, his only form of direct offense was his glaive. Instead he possessed a much larger arsenal of auxiliary magic, and always preferred to strategically react on the defensive. And without any idea of how this woman would attack... She has no idea what type of magic to expect from me either, he thought to himself. And I can use that to an advantage.Immediately, he began to create an illusion of what appeared to be the summoning of a large earth-based magic attack. Several long spikes of rock about the size of his arm formed a circle around him, abruptly pointing towards Gaynor. They were nothing but tricks of the eye, but if he could use them to try and manipulate her position... Well here we go. He pointed his glaive towards her, firing the first illusory spike off and "planting" it into a tree a few yards behind her. "Ready?" he asked.
