A thread to vent out when crap happens -- because it will happen to the best of us -- to our arrrrt! [Or venting peeves, if you want.] One thing that makes me want to just toss down my pen and go "NOPE" is when something happens to cause my file to be permanently gone. For example, just now I was leaning back slightly because my cat has this thing where she HAS to walk over my personal space... and my computer chair did that thing where it unlocks and you feel like you're falling to your death so the natural human reaction is FLING YOUR ARMS AND LEGS OUT. WELL. I did that and just so happened to press my toe against the power cable. So bloop. There went the computer. Obviously upon reboot my efforts were nothing more than a mere memory... ....save often, kiddies.

Oh no! That really freaking sucks....
I'm a big victim of not saving often haha. So many times I'll be working on an animation on flash and the suddenly a window pops up, simply telling me that my program crashed and it will shut down. I try my best to try and save as often as I can, but I've still gotten frustrated to the point of tears for having lost such good progress. Such is life though... I've at least learned to save a little more frequently....? (not really)

Flash is terrible about crashing, I've heard. I attempted to use it for an animation meme years ago and was learning how to fiddle with it, drew this epic stick figure fight LMAO...
But unfortunately lost it twice. So I gave up and stuck to frame by frame. :\ But If I could animate in flash I'm sure I'd actually produce something since it is faster... @__@

Yeahhh.... I actually use it TO animate frame by frame, since I haven't actually learned enough about it with practicing to do anything other then that and motion tweening.

Yay another pet peeve add: When people order something from you and you give them a 75% discount, and they're extremely picky or indecisive about it. \o/ I hate being one that has to set my foot down on things, but I'm sorry you're going to have to be entirely sure what you want and tell me before I draw it. I can't keep drawing new things over and over for you for 25% of the already absurdly cheap price... v__v
That's not to say I mind if like, I misunderstood and did something wrong, sure I'll revise that. But when you tell me something, I draw it, you say "oh looks good but now I'm thinking-" NO. NO. Buy another slot if you are going to change the entire idea just about. >_< Or pay me the price to make it worthwhile. I have other clients waiting >_<

Just a little art peeve: Often times when I'm drawing something with a pencil I'll draw right to left leaving tons of lead on the side of my hand.
Its not as bad as flash's constant crashing though. (I haven't actually used flash all that much so I haven't come across this too often (maybe two or three times?))... Magix Music Maker on the other hand... I could write essays about it lol

Ah man, when I used to draw with pencils.... my biggest thing was getting every thing to look good then draw a fabulous eye... only to realize it's too high up on the face LOL

So ever since I lost my files, I haven't been the greatest in terms of writing scripts, drawing concept art, etc. for my series. Instead I've been moping all day. Also art block/art farts happens a lot to me and it's really hard to get out of them.

Does anybody else's art programs/video editing programs autosave for them? Many times my computer has shut down on its own or computer programs have crashed... but all of my work is recovered and autosaved. 9 times out of 10 it's exactly as it was before it crashed... the other 10% is that it wasn't completely up to date. It's saved me a lot of artist rage. But one thing that does make me rage is when I'm sketching out something on paper, then I realize the proportions are wrong. I can't just select it and move it, I have to actually redraw it. Yesterday, I drew some eyes on a portrait that were a little bit too low, so I had to re-sketch the eyes.
