Name: Alanis Vincent Age: 20 Personality: Whiny, entitled, and better than you. Fighting Capabilities: Alanis has virtually no physical fighting strength, and doesn't fully understand lodestones. She possesses a blood lodestone, and all of her attempts at using it have unexpected - though effective - results. She considers herself a great fighter, but anyone else might say she just gets lucky... Backstory: Alanis comes from the renowned and respected Vincent clan, which is a very secretive family that's involved in all kinds of high level business investments. The clan is very tight and reserved, going so far as to breed selectively in order to maximize not only their physical strength and wellness, but also what they consider to be ideal beauty. Alanis lived a pampered life until recently when her parents determined that her sheltered upbringing had made her weak and lazy. Since she is important to the clan's legacy, they decided to cast her out of the Vincent house until she became more responsible and experienced in the ways of the world. Alanis quickly blew through the money that her family allowed her, and now struggles to get by on charm and wiles. Being naive and foolish, she decided to follow the flier for the Heaven Spire job, which in her mind is as easy as traveling to a place and collecting a reward. Additional Info: There's an aura of mystery and good fortune that follows wherever Alanis goes, and it seems that not even she understands it. Physical Appearance: ---------------- Alanis approached the crowd of people with a look of disdain etched into her face. Without bothering to pardon herself for interrupting, she spoke her first words to the team "Hey, I'm not sharing that money with all of you when I get it!" The frustrated woman crossed her arms under her chest and stared daggers at everyone, one by one giving them an unpleasant look while openly scanning their appearances up and down. Her face seemed to show varying degrees of disgust as her eyes bounced from one atrocity to the next. She really hadn't had any idea what she was getting herself into, but the rough look of these potential subordinates made her feel even more annoyed at this dog's work she was forced to resort to.

"Erm...what?" A slightly dumbfounded look crossed her face, but it was not one of the bubbly girl before, no. Sweat dripped down her palms, an she clenched her fists as of to stop it. "I 'unno what you mean, bud. You sure are confusing!" She said with a certain shakiness subtly creeping its way into her tone, followed by an almost genuine looking smile. Kyanalurin heaved a sigh. At the worst, he knows who she really is, at the best he can just tell she's forcing this attitude. No harm in staying positive. Well, in that respect at least. (( Miki Sayaka))

She really hadn't had any idea what she was getting herself into, but the rough look of these potential subordinates made her feel even more annoyed at this dog's work she was forced to resort to. Freyja ignored the little witch's comment and began walking away from the castle steps, not afraid to knock Spica over should she stay in the way. She was surveying what the rest of the group, all of whom seemed to be interacting with each other rather well, when she heard a voice that was eerily similar to Spica, attitude wise. Another brat seemed to have joined the ranks, and given the reward present, it seemed to make sense that these self-entitled people would be the ones to show up. "Well everyone here is getting the same reward. It's not like one person will be given the 10,000,000 Gold. Each individual will be given the same amount. But glad to know where you stand on the subject, oh stingy princess." Freyja reenacted the over exaggerated bow she had performed for Spica before. She then stood up, a cocky grin plastered on her face. "Welcome to the party, kid. The name's Freyja Hlin, and I'll be your leader for the next couple of weeks." She looked to the girl and noticed the blood lodestone hanging from her neck. Perhaps she would be useful, after all. Freyja turned her head back to the clock tower. It was now 2 o'clock. It was about time they got a move on. Freyja walked up a few of the castle steps and cupped her hands around her mouth. "ALRIGHT, LISTEN UP! IT'S TIME TO HEAD OUT! WE'RE GOING TO THE TRAIN STATION AND LEAVING FOR RHIMEGLAS TOWN! IF YOU'RE HERE TO SEARCH FOR HEAVEN'S SPIRE, FOLLOW ME OR GET LEFT BEHIND!!!" And with that, Freyja headed out towards the station, ready to finally see what this group of kids was made of.
The search party managed to catch the train in time, and it was a smooth ride to Rhimeglas. They arrived about an hour and a half later, the sun still quite high in the sky. This would be perfect for what Freyja had in mind for the rest of the group. They search party didn't stay in Rhimeglas very long, as their leader seemed to have something in mind for these 'warriors' she was accompanied by. The search party stopped in the middle of a large, grassy field. Freyja stood in front of the group, a smile on her face once more. "Alrighty! Well, since we're all gonna be travelling together for quite some time, I thought these little interactions should get more....intimate." She started "And what's more intimate than a good ol' fashion sparring match? Not only will this help you get to know your team better, it'll let me know just exactly what your abilities as a fighter are. SO!" She clapped her hands together. "Here's how we're gonna do this. I'm gonna pair you all off and you will fight with one another. If you don't like your sparring partner for whatever reason, you can spar with me. So, the groups will be: Pumilus vs. Sparrow, Spica vs. Alanis, Robin vs. Kyanalurin, Ilia vs. Monaiya, Rory vs. Vera, and Uldrix vs. Rey..." Freyja stopped for a moment when she realized Murm was without a sparring partner. "Uh, Murm, you can spar with me, or sit out until another sparring partner opens up. I'll try and go easy on you, if you really wanna fight me. SO, ANY QUESTIONS?" She bellowed. Main Objective
Spar with the partner that has been given to you. The match ups are: Pumilus vs. Sparrow Spica vs. Alanis Robin vs. Kyanalurin Ilia vs. Monaiya Rory vs. Vera Uldrix vs. Rey (Note: Try not to post TOO quickly during your fights. Please allow everyone a chance to post in their fight scene)

Hioni nodded. " I see, I came to the right place then" suddenly her expression changed. " My name is Illia Hioni, I am very happy to work with you miss Freyja Hlin~! " Illia said She looked at the rest of the people that were around this place. " Such an interesting bunch~" she said. Illia moved away from Freyja, this time not beefing very careful on who she was stepping on. Once she found a place were not a lot of people were, she pulled out a book from her bag. It was brand new, and it didn't seem to have been opened before. In fact, it's pages were completely blank. It was a diary. The old man, Pythos, gave it to her before she left. Though she was unsure why he gave it to her, she took a small ink pen and began writing She lowered her legs until she was sitting in the ground. Her spider like legs crawled back in her back. Hioni let a small sigh. She was unsure if the rest of the party would be able to accept a defective robot like her. She wasn't the best fighter but she hoped that she could at least offer them some help .

Pumilus blinked a few times into nothingness, though his expression never changed. He'd have to fight the innocent glimmer. Of course, in order to be a glimmer he knew that at a time, his soul was not so innocent. However, it was a turn of events he was not particularly fond of. Nevertheless he would have to deal with it if he wanted to continue on the journey. In the field, he approached Sparrow and bowed. "I am sorry I have to fight you." He said, though his voice gave no hints of being upset. "But we must." He stood straight once again and backed away a few paces. He waited a moment for the glimmer to attack first. He didn't particularly want to fight offensively, at least not until he had to.

Robin was delighted with Uldrix's display, and even grew more intrigued by his ability to alter the sound to create a clearer end product. To hear the radio produce such clarity in its ragged condition had been but a distant dream, really. "How do you do that?" Before the creature could reply, their leader had rounded up their attention and they were hurried onto the next train to an open plain away from the castle.
Oh, so that's why they were here. Without a word, Robin activated their inhibitor in case they needed to recharge their weapons during the spar. Of course, this would be a tad bit tricky, considering that they couldn't just shoot the girl willy-nilly; that wouldn't be sparring otherwise. (Not that they particularly wanted to.) Kyana stated that she wielded an electricity lodestone, similar to their own. Her gauntlet would prove to be a challenge however, and it could be a problem if they got too close to it. For all Robin knew, Kyana might absolutely destroy at close-quarter combat which could land them in quite the pinch.
Their eyes flickered to the group of faces, searching for a familiar braided-hair girl before ultimately spotting her among the array. "Kyana!" they waved from afar, already picking out a spot in the clearing for them. "Are you ready?" Their hands were already to their sides, ready to draw their gadgets when given the signal.

"Are you ready?" Their hands were already to their sides, ready to draw their gadgets when given the signal. "Ah!" Kyanalurin looked through the throng to find her sparring partner. She pushed through until she found them. She pressed a button on her gauntlet, causing it to make a noise, which indicated it was powering up...followed by her wincing from what seemed to be pain. She quickly got over it, as this seemed to be something she was used to. "Ready as I'll ever be, buddo!" She chirped. Kyanalurin got into her stance, looking to Freyja to give the okay to start fighting.

"I have to fight a kid? Alanis complained. Who was this horrid woman to insult her strength with such a proposal. "Fine, but don't think I'm going to go easy!" she said, stepping forward into an open area. She took something that looked halfway like a fighting stance and awaited her opponent.

Uldrix looked around inquisitively, standing up to his full height to try and survey the crowd better. He had learned the names of Robin, Spica, Kyanalurin, Rory, Pumilus, and Freyja. He had not met this 'Rey' yet he was supposed to fight. Fight...The word alone had adrenaline pumping in his veins, sound waves building in his vocal cords. It had only been a few days since his last territorial battle with one of his hateful kin. He suddenly pulled himself back down, looking between the unknown forms with his hearts beating heavily in his torso. What if... What if he didn't know when to stop? He shook his head and slashed at his face with a talon, scolding himself for the thought. He had to prove to them he was different from the rest of the wild Avenaudi. He had to show them he knew how to be merciful, or else how could they ever trust him? And how could he ever trust them? "Rey?" He called the name out in a normal speaking voice, something preventing him from shouting. There was still that nagging thought that this was a very, very bad idea. He didn't know how to spar. It was always kill or be killed. Swallowing the building saliva in his mouth, he tried again, hues of dark yellow in the sound waves. "Rey?!"

Rory bounced on her toes and ruffled her feathers in an attempt to whisk away the tension she was now feeling. She frankly was somewhat nervous to be sparring a dragon person, but she tried not to let her anxiousness leak through her expression. Although certainly, someone as obvious as her failed at that. The large, bulkier pair of mechanical arms attached to the contraption on her back now were held in a fighting stance, the hands curled into fists. The harpy was afraid of hurting Vera with her larger weaponry and hoped the iron fists would suffice. Holding her wing up to her face, she finally mustered up the courage to smile and shout to her opponent, "Hey Vera! Show me whatcha got!" Rory then glanced over at Freyja, awaiting her signal restlessly.

His best bet to making it out of one of these would be to surrender immediately or try to wait out the other's attacks as best he could. He let out a nervous chuckle when it finally came down to just him. No one was left for him save the rather intimidating leader. "Me? Fight you? I might as well just concede now." Letting out a laugh he rubbed his cheek and leaned back on his heels.

What vulgar language. Had she said those words anywhere near the Witches' Society, she'd be without meals for a week. Spica said after her, 'Actually the name's Spica Tremille, mudwoman.'
Spica hmphed as Freyja went past her, revelling in what she thought to be her victory. 'That old woman's ran out of tricks.'
'Excuse me?'
She approached Alanis, who was declared to be her opponent. Does this walking fashion abomination think she had a chance against her? Really? And to call her a kid? Spica was certain that her own abilities far outweighed hers and her being younger was the cherry on top.
'I suppose you have no idea what I am capable of. I, Spica Tremille am the Witches' Society star pupil. You'll be grovelling at my knees when this is over. Now quit pretending to act tough and show me what exactly you can do.'
Spica waved her wand and crystals sprouted around her in a ring, forming a defense.

"Whatever, brat." Alanis retorted with a wrist flick and glaring look to the side. "Obviously you don't know who you're dealing with." she said arrogantly while side-eyeing the teenager.
"Take this!" the heiress shouted, flailing her hand toward Spica theatrically. A light breeze blew in from Spica's right, but otherwise... nothing happened.

Spica scoffed as Alanis's attack only touseled her hair. She put it back in place and soon broke into laughter.
'Is that it? This is all really starting to look like one long, bad joke. Since you've come here to make a fool of yourself, there needs to be someone to put you in your place. That someone being me.'
She raised her wand, and the former ring broke into shards and reformed into spears. She levitated them above Alanis. 'Take this.' The crystals then homed in.

"What?! Why didn't it work?!" Alanis was bewildered. She stumbled and dove away from the crystals with miliseconds to spare.
"Hey!! If you stain these clothes you're going to lick them clean!" she shouted furiously. The moody woman didn't seem to prepare another attack, yet the breeze blowing on Spica steadily grew stronger so that it would now be a somewhat powerful gust that was enough to really blow the witch's hair around.
