Alti crossed his legs, lightly tapping his thigh with one hand while the other busied itself by propping the embarrassingly-decorated cupcake up to his face. He observed the sweet for a few seconds, a small pout forming on his lips at the rather disappointing image of a young Vale playing in the sand, completely clothed. A quick scan of the others' treats and the awkward grimaces plastered on their faces told him one thing as he brought his attention back to the sandy toddler printed on his frosting: his was the only one of its kind. And boy was it lame. "Mrhhh, no faaaaaaaaaair......" he groaned quietly, taking a large bite out of the cupcake where kid Vale's head as if doing meant he'd be getting his payback for another restless night. No silly baby pictures was gonna stop him from eating sweets. Almost nothing could, really, and this was for a birthday. He loved birthdays! Every single one he crashed. Good times, they were --when he was alone, of course. For all he knew, having all these guests here would probably ruin a party. It's already just a shitty lunch, he thought as he finished his cake. No one else really seemed to be into eating their own, Alti only adding to the awkward by staring intently at the cupcakes placed right in front of Piami and Galy, about to reach for them until he caught sight of the scorched general's menu, and then he froze, drowning out all other noise once it dawned upon him that he'd be expected to place a lunch order soon. It wasn't until the mother's flamboyant display that he finally snapped out of his daze, a smirk nervously beginning to bubble to the surface once Albany walked over to pinch his soulmate's cheeks. D'aww, now isn't that just the most precious thing? he thought, about to applaud the woman and push his partner's buttons more when a foreign voice spoke up from behind, the light screeching of wheels turning him around to a pretty tacky looking... "cake"....
a large "cake".... a very familiar-looking one, almost... And didn't someone leave like, a second ago?, he thought, glancing about in his memories for the missing face and then confirming his suspicion by turning back around. "Pppft....." he sputtered as he picked up a fork and ran it across the surface of the plate, not taking very long to put two and two together and shot Albany a glance of slight betrayal at her poor choice. He kind of hoped that maybe celebrating a birthday with other people wouldn't... you know, suck, but with Amil now making a fool of himself in the background and causing even more trouble with the birthday boy and the mother-son madness that followed suit, his original doubts had been confirmed. Shit if I walk out of this with fucking wrinkles, someone's dying. Didn't help that he was seated next to the tacky cake ornament's racist soulmate, either. He only voluntarily picked up snippets before shifting his attention to anything else as he didn't really care what the two were up to at the moment. "This is so fucking stupid," he grumbled. Alti leaned an elbow on the edge of the table after turning to face his grumpy partner, probing the man's cheek with the index finger of his free hand before waggling it like Albany did earlier. "Awww, what's wrong?" he teased, " Not a fan of bullshit?"

"Aaaaaaaaw you really liked mommy, huh?" He leaned out of his chair and moaned in Nace's ear, seeing as Amil had not only pushed Vale's buttons but his as well. "Did mommy treat you right? You don't wanna drag mommy into this? Fine~" He bit his partner's earlobe before falling back into his seat. "I know Vale would have torn my arm off if she wasn't here, that's why I took the opportunity while it presented itself~" He giggled. "I forgot how much of a softy you were under that cold facade!" He hummed as he looked back towards Albany who was now clinging to Alraada. "If I can't mess with Vale while she's here then I'm gonna need something else to preoccupy myself with. Otherwise the day is going to be boring." Nace took another long drink of whatever was in his flask, leaning heavily forward onto the table and pointing a finger at Amil with one eye closed. "I'm here to save some lives, asshat," It was remarkable his words were slurring already. Whatever he was drinking was clearly strong as hell. "Minimize the collateral damage. That woman? Ain't a super. So lez just moooooove along." He finished off whatever was in the flask and pulled another one out of god knows where.
"Hey," Albany whispered sweetly, keeping one hand on Alraada's while using the other to gently lift up her chin. "There's that smile I was looking for~. Pretty girl..." Her warm expression seemed sad for a moment and she released Alraada from her touch. "He's not just my son." She said suddenly as she looked Alraada up and down. "I'm sorry if he resembles the other half more." She swiveled away from the table and stood up quickly, turning to everyone as she removed her hat from her head and placed it onto the chair. "Well, this has certainly been an exciting day! But now, It's time to get to work. Mr. Pond?" She clapped lightly. The butler seemed to materialize out of nowhere. "Be a dear and help me get this table and cake out of here, would you?" The man nodded before doing just that, with surprising strength and speed. He made sure to leave anything behind that the others might have placed on the table. He shut the doors quickly behind him, leaving the room empty besides the birthday decorations and chairs, the former Albany quickly took from the walls and pushed into a corner. "Now then." She pulled up one of the chairs to the 'head' of the group, folding her hands in front of her and sitting up rigidly straight from her previously laid back posture. The air around her seemed to change as well, from mother to professional in a matter of seconds. Her smile was still there, but it was much smaller than before, neutral and welcoming while not being over powering. "The scientists have asked me if I would be so kind as to help this group past some of its hurdles. For those of you who aren't aware--I'm a counselor. So, let's just get past some of the initial barriers you might all have in the first place against this session." She looked around the room, making eye contact with everyone at least once. "You think this is silly. A waste of your time. Something you don't need because you can figure it out on your own, right? Well, let me ask you some things of my own then." She cleared her throat before pulling out a pad and pen from her purse, flipping to a page and running down a list she had made previously. "Can you name your partners favorite animal? Their parents names? Where they were born? Do you know their pet peeves? Do you understand why they hate or love you currently? Do you know why they came here? What they hope to achieve? Do you know the answer to all these questions?" She looked up again before licking her finger and turning the page. "The point is, there is always something to gain from these sessions. You can always learn to understand things a little bit better just by taking the time to listen and speak in a safe space. And that's what I aim to provide here. A safe space. Let's all keep cool, keep calm, and do our best to practically explain what it is that is causing everyone so much stress in this experiment." Vale had slowly started to make his way to the door at this point, having already predicted from his mother's change in attitude where this was headed. Of course, it was next to impossible to sneak away when covered head to foot in a lime green suit. "Vale, thank you for volunteering to go first." "Shit," Vale muttered under his breath, turning back awkwardly. "Please, take a seat. I'd like us to remain seated, if possible. Standing can be threatening." She tilted her face down a bit and gave him a meaningful look. "And we don't want that, right?" Grumbling to himself, Vale slipped back into his original seat next to Alraada. "Good." Albany poised her pen above the paper. "So, Vale. Why don't you tell me how your soulmate really ended up in that wheel chair?" Vale visibly flinched, but before he could even speak, a rather intoxicated Nace shouted, "HE THREW A FOUNTAIN AT 'ER, THE FUCKER!" Before falling face first onto the floor. Albany looked between the alcoholic and the power ranger with a neutral expression. "Is that what happened, Vale?" Vale squirmed in his chair, "Well, I wasn't aiming at her---." "--But did you hit her?" The wrestler lowered his head in shame. "Yes. I did." There was a moment of silence before Albany let out a long sigh, leaning back a bit in her chair as she tried to process this. "And we were making so much progress..." She muttered before crossing something off in her notebook. "Vale. I'm disappointed in you." Vale tensed. "...I know." "But this isn't just about you." She turned her head back in the general direction of the whole group. "This is about everyone. So let's talk. Let's figure this out. So, whoever wants to go first, I'll start with a tougher one:
"What was the point in this experiment where things felt like they went the most wrong for you?"

Aberdeen let out a groan of annoyance as the birthday party was quickly turned into a therapy session before the fighter's eyes. Should've known those stupid scientists were up to something... They remained in the seat they'd been sitting the whole time, listening to the woman drone on about how they don't know there soulmates and how everything may seem fine now and blah blah blaaaaaaah. "Like we'd know those answers after spending two weeks together." They muttered to themself.
It wasn't the Albany was wrong, given Aberdeen themself didn't know the answers to the majority of the questions she'd asked, but they still shook their head out of irritation. They glanced around the group, nobody there seeming to want to answer the question and rightfully so, causing Aberdeen to speak up.
"Oh, I'd have to say the part where it went most wrong for ME is when Vale tried to stab me through the chest with his arm over a game of Twister." They glared at the wrestler.
Amil chuckled at the headless fighter's answer, smirking at the wrestler himself and back to Vale's mother. While Amil didn't expect to get much out of this, the information he could gather from this could prove to be a useful tool. He leaned back into his chair and tapped his finger to his chin. "Hmmmmmmmmmmmm that's a hard one~" He snickered.
"If I HAD to choose the WORST moment, it was probably watching that fountain crash into Alraada's body." He frowned. He glanced over at Alraada for a moment, genuine sorrow on his face. "Doesn't get much worse than watching your friend get hurt." He spoke as he turned away and stared up at the ceiling.

Maicy and Piami witness what happened. Albany was wanting to get to know everyone, asking about what had Alraada in the current state she's in, a drunken Nace spilling the beans on what happened. And.... Albany's next question. "What was the point in this experiment where things felt like they went the most wrong for you?" Both Maicy and Piami were thinking about it. Would they be in the right to answer??? They thought about it. They might exclude parts of life before the experiment. "Oh, I'd have to say the part where it went most wrong for ME is when Vale tried to stab me through the chest with his arm over a game of Twister." They glared at the wrestler.
And that's when both of them feel like they are going to screw it up....
Maicy gulped as she thought of her answer. The nervousness was too real for her. It took her a few minutes on but after with internally boosting a bit of her confidence, she at least manage to speak up. "I-It's not really as bad as how those two got it. I-I'm sorry." Maicy looked down. "B-but...... The worst thing for me is....." She looked down further. "......getting slapped in the face by Giaile... when I was blaming myself at Winsey Place......"
As Maicy answered, Piami looked at Giaile with an upset. Giaile looked outside the window out of guilt. " Y-Yeah, I was upset how things were with Miss Piami at the times.... and thought that was the only for Maicy snap out of it." "That's still no excuse....." Piami said, a little bit seriously. Piami turned to Albany "I'm sorta on the same boat as Maicy as the worst thing for me isn't as bad as Aberdeen's or Amil's." she spoken up "But the worst thing for me is.... well..... when, it was with someone that is not around anymore, which I hope things are still well for him.... but...... I wanted to help him when he was upset about something...... but he yelled at me...." Piami looked down "..Have I done wrong..?"

Alti leaned an elbow on the edge of the table after turning to face his grumpy partner, probing the man's cheek with the index finger of his free hand before waggling it like Albany did earlier. "Awww, what's wrong?" he teased, "Not a fan of bullshit?" The scientist grunted as his cheeks were grabbed for a second time within the span of 5 minutes, grumbling as he could feel the redness quickly returning to his abused skin. "My bullshit quota has been filled for the week," he sneered, prying his cheeks away from his partner's grabby fingers, not even fully acknowledging and believing the sudden and surreal shift from child's birthday party to therapy session. It was just too absurd. "The scientists have asked me if I would be so kind as to help this group past some of its hurdles. For those of you who aren't aware--I'm a counselor. So, let's just get past some of the initial barriers you might all have in the first place against this session." She looked around the room, making eye contact with everyone at least once. Let's all keep cool, keep calm, and do our best to practically explain what it is that is causing everyone so much stress in this experiment." Favorite animal? Parents' names? Where he was born? What he hopes to achieve? Hmph. Cyrus faltered for a moment. Ravens, Angela and Paolo, Connecticut, loud gum chewing and open-mouth chewing, and a research mission on the International Space Station. Easily he mentally answered for his late partner of several years, but with his new partner he admittedly didn't know the answers to several of those questions. However, did most of those answers even matter? Besides the one about achievements, who cared whether someone preferred giraffes over elephants, or whose genetic material they spawned from, or where they lived decades ago? After all, he would've surely been better off without ever knowing Angela's name, and it's not as though his life had been changed by learning the difference between crows and ravens. Alti and he had only been together 2 weeks so far, it wasn't as though they were married or something. What the fuck did they need counseling for? This is so fucking stupid. He visibly rolled his eyes. Yup, his bullshit meter was way past overflowing. It was a fountain of feces at this point. She muttered before crossing something off in her notebook. "Vale. I'm disappointed in you." 'I'm disappointed in you.' Is that the full extent of her reaction? Either she gave zero shits, or this was so common for the watermelon luchador that she'd been jaded, and with the amount of scars across the housewife's face and body, he had the sinking feeling it was the latter. Why the fuck was a person like this paired with anyone?? Why the hell was this violent loon even able to run free? He wrinkled his nose and crossed his arms, staring at the ground as she asked her next question. "But this isn't just about you." She turned her head back in the general direction of the whole group. "This is about everyone. So let's talk. Let's figure this out. You were a part of that whole debacle. You weren't even at the goddamn hospital yesterday," he retorted before looking over at the leader of their little psychological powwow, annoyed that he had to answer the question. "Even though the first couple days were rough, it's fine now. Shit happens. We don't need this Kumbaya circle to figure that out. But come to think of it, the one person that's been involved in every single bout of violence and fighting so far," he pointed at Vale accusatorily, "is him."

This wasn't for her, and she knew it. Galystris sat silently, refusing to answer any of Albany's questions. Her eyes moved from person to person as they answered. She hoped she wouldn't be specifically called on. She'd rather not have people mad at her for saying she didn't care about their issues. ------ Alraada sat, staring almost shamefully at her hands. She couldn't answer any of those questions for vale, but she could definitely think of her own answers. Rabbits, not applicable, New Hampshire, the general existence of idiots, buddying up with the scientists for a job, and...She thought for a moment. She couldn't even tell if vale could even stand her presence anymore. Probably not. She'd convinced herself that she didn't care, as he was just a fountain thrower to be scared of who has a nice mom. And a calm environment for venting? Oh fucking please, someone would be throwing punches in a second. Hearing albany's last question, Alraada's mind immediately went into panic mode. She knew they had just hit a point where everything was getting so bad that the situation may not recover. Hearing Aberdeen's response, she gave them a weak smile, as if to indicate a 'thank you' for speaking up. She looked down at the floor and answer the question as well. "I dunno....stuff will be great, and then everything will go wrong, and then stuff will be great again...so I don't know at all...." She spoke, nearly inaudibly, unable to look anyone on the eye. Was it out of fear of vale? Yes. It was. (( cassiroll and MonkeyandMooseInc))

"Oho, not so fast~" Alti sang to himself once Albany made the call to shift the mood from --dare he say, "festive"-- to "serious" in the blink of an eye. His attention still split between the scientist's crabby face and the two cupcakes sitting on the other side of the table, Alti set his hand on his lap face-up once his his partner pulled free from his grip, sitting upright and doing the same to the other one soon after. And with a short glance back at the sweets, Alti portalled the two cakes into both hands, winking at the butler as he swiftly packed up the table and booked it. He brought the two sweets closer to him, observing the pictures printed on the both of them and snickering stupidly to himself. Oh, these were definitely better. He placed one on his knee while quickly took to licking the frosting off the other, staring blankly at the woman in the center with a look of minute relief for taking away the menus before anyone had the chance to heckle him about his indecisiveness. "The scientists have asked me if I would be so kind as to help this group past some of its hurdles. For those of you who aren't aware--I'm a counselor. So, let's just get past some of the initial barriers you might all have in the first place against this session." She looked around the room, making eye contact with everyone at least once. Let's all keep cool, keep calm, and do our best to practically explain what it is that is causing everyone so much stress in this experiment." Alti paused, giving his cupcake a break as he tried to run through the last two weeks in order to find answers to every question asked by their 'counselor', but drawing a blank almost every time. The man pouted, It's not those things just, come up in conversation! We're fucking fine (in more ways than one)!, resuming his eating as the woman went on to further explain her other reason for being here. So far, it seemed pretty pointless for him to go through therapy when there was mostly nothing wrong. He considered leaving the session right then and there once she mentioned starting a discussion about the source of the stress in the room, but not even a second after she finished speaking and suddenly the "safe space" Albany tried so hard to manufacture turned into a roasting zone, just bubbling with passive-aggression. So, he kept still."But this isn't just about you." She turned her head back in the general direction of the whole group. "This is about everyone. So let's talk. Let's figure this out. So, whoever wants to go first, I'll start with a tougher one: "What was the point in this experiment where things felt like they went the most wrong for you?""If I HAD to choose the WORST moment, it was probably watching that fountain crash into Alraada's body." He chuckled at his soulmate's salt-crusted reply at the ornament, the cupcake balancing precariously on his knee bobbling on its now-unstable platform. He snapped his fingers a few times in response in place of an actual verbal contribution since his mouth was currently full of cupcake. It did sting a bit that Albany didn't demonstrate as much 'disappointment' in her son's actions as he would've liked, but he shrugged it off, chalking that up to the scars that riddled her frame. "Mm- yeah," he blurted after swallowing the sweet, also pointing a finger at the repeat offender, "we got into a fight on like, day two! But like, then he apologized..... so yeah, we're OK, and we're OK." he said, gesturing between him and the scientist. Alti continued to pick at the rest of the first cupcake, paying no attention to the fact that his response had to technically be the most? positive one uttered???

"Oh, I'd have to say the part where it went most wrong for ME is when Vale tried to stab me through the chest with his arm over a game of Twister." They glared at the wrestler.
Amil chuckled at the headless fighter's answer, smirking at the wrestler himself and back to Vale's mother. While Amil didn't expect to get much out of this, the information he could gather from this could prove to be a useful tool. He leaned back into his chair and tapped his finger to his chin. " Hmmmmmmmmmmmm that's a hard one~" He snickered. ((NOTE: Albany and Vale are addressing everyone after they have spoken, despite how this post is divided up in quotes)) Albany turned to Aberdeen first, deciding to go around the circle as she addressed everyone. There was a small, but sad smile touching her lips as she responded, "I'm glad to hear he did not actually harm you. This will be less than comforting, I'm sure, but that is real progress. The game in general, however, is completely Vale's fault," She swiveled her chair a bit, a hint of hidden rage trying to be suppressed by her professionalism. "He is not to partake in any competitions outside of the family. It's part of his program. I'm not able to monitor him very well from the safe house, but I've had many conversations with him about things he's done here. Arm wrestling, twister, even word games should have been off limits. That was a clear violation of our contract. For that alone, I should take him back immediately to start the process over. But the scientists informed me that would be unwise due to...medical reasons." Her eyes flicked over to Alraada, the apology clear in her expression. "He told me things were going well, so I allowed him to continue despite this breach. And for a little bit...I believed him. So that, unfortunately, is my fault." She smoothed out her hair carefully. “Vale, do you have anything you’d like to say to Aberdeen?” Vale shifted uncomfortably in his seat, looking at his feet. “It doesn’t matter anymore.” “You don’t want to apologize?” “They wouldn’t believe me.” Albany sighed. “We’ll continue for now. I’m sure we’ll have plenty of time to address this.” She looked at Amil. “I appreciate your honesty, Amil. I do believe you’re sorry Alraada was injured. But based on Cyrus’s testimony, you were involved in the fight as well. Vale is the one who threw the fountain, I make no excuses for him on that. But I know my son. He has not mentioned Alraada negatively once in a single phone call with me, and he always shows remorse when things go sour between them. So I don’t believe he was aiming at her.” She seemed to be trying to keep neutral as best she could. “Alraada is a sweet girl. She’s the kind of person who wouldn’t want to see others get hurt. And if she’s your friend, I’m guessing she jumped in the way on your behalf. It’s important to acknowledge all sides of this event. Vale should not have thrown that fountain. But you are also at fault for putting others in danger, such as your friend. Had you not been fighting in the first place, no one would be in a wheelchair right now.” She leaned in closer suddenly, curiosity on her features. “I do admit I’m a bit concerned someone like my son felt it necessary to throw an entire fountain at someone of your physical statue--no offense--and his missing arm. Was that you as well?” She tilted her head slightly and narrowed her eyes. “I’m not an idiot, Amil. I saw how he reacted to me getting close to you throughout the day. And all your actions were that of someone with malicious intent. You’ve all been with Vale. Outside of the family, what we did today would have resulted in a fight. So whatever happened at that con needs to be discussed here.” She looked back at her son once more. “Vale, comments?” “I’m not apologizing to him, because I will NEVER mean it.” Vale sneered. “I’m not asking you to. I’m asking you to explain your side of what happened.” She nodded at Amil. “He may do the same. But I know you better. I’d like your word first before we try any cross examination. Please keep it short and concise. Avoid emotional words to explain the events if possible.” Vale sighed, leaning back in his chair. He took a moment before raising his eye to stare dirently at Albany. “I got into a small...dispute with a cameraman who was being rude. Nace and Amil saw it. It probably pissed Nace off and they both came out. Amil attacked first. I lost an arm. I retaliated. Alraada got…” He stopped and lowered his gaze again. “Vale, please finish.” One of Vale’s legs were bouncing progressively faster. His voice cracked a bit when he continued. “Alraada got hit. With the fountain. Nace calmed down Amil or SOMETHING. Alraada got taken to the hospital. I tried to visit her but I only made things worse.” He closed his eye tightly, going through this section as fast as possible. “I said some things I shouldn’t have because I was angry. No one saw the whole fight. I felt like I was taking all the blame for it. But now we’re here. At this therapy session. And I’m sure that’s how this will end too.” He said dryly before turning back away. “Thank you for sharing, Vale. If anyone would like to add, feel free. But be calm, please. And allow me to finish addressing everyone.” Albany started with Maicy, her gentle smile returning, “Physical violence should never be the end to an argument. That’s what sessions like this are for, to prevent that. I know how hurtful that must have been, Giaile should have apologized,” She gave the other a meaningful look. “I do have a follow-up question for you, Maicy. This is most my inferring, so I hope I’m not far off. Feel free to think on it while I continue around the circle. I’m sure it’s a loaded question: Why do you blame yourself so often? And do you feel the need to apologize for things often, like you just did?” Her eyes softened a bit. “You don’t have to be sorry for having less pain than someone else. This isn’t a contest. And I can tell you’re hurting more than you’d like to let others know.” Albany’s attention switched to Piami. “If the other party is no longer here, it’s a bit difficult for me to address. But sometimes, Piami...people are just beyond your help. You have this fine looking lady right next to you,” She gave a nod to Galy, “focus on making this relationship strong by leaving your old one behind. You didn’t do anything wrong by trying to help, but you shouldn’t feel bad if you don’t succeed.” Albany was tempted to slip back to her fun-loving self just for this snarky asshole, but she managed to keep her head and scribbled something down instead. “Thank you for your contribution, Cyrus. But that was not an answer to the question. I asked when things went bad for you specifically. Not the whole group. I need to be able to pinpoint where everyone’s initial problems stemmed from--and that includes solved ones. It will help me be able to help you better if I know what made things uncomfortable for you, big or small.” Albany smiled tenderly at the girl. “Alraada, this is a safe space. What you’re describing is, well, just how relations work. The bigger they are, the harder they fall; excuse the cliche. I know there’s more to this for you. And I promise Vale will behave while I am here.” Her eyes softened. “I would explain more, but I feel it’s better if he does.” She nodded to her son. Vale seemed saddened by the fear Alraada was displaying once more, his bouncing leg going full capacity at this point. “I-I want to say I would never hurt you, but clearly I can’t anymore.” His tone was bitter and angry, but at himself, not at her. “I want to say that we’ll be fine, but I don’t know if we will. I want to say a lot of things, but I don’t even know if you’ll believe me.” He glanced at her before quickly looking away again. “A-And I want to leave so you can be happy, but I can’t anymore. I’m too selfish for that.” His voice fell flat and it was clear he was done talking. “Thank you, Vale,” Albany whispered before moving on. “Thank you Alti, for answering my question.” Perhaps there was a hint of bitterness towards a certain scientist she was trying to hide. “I’m very glad he apologized. That’s good! That’s very good.” She cocked her head a bit. “I’d like to know why you two weren’t ‘good’ in the first place, but we have one more conscious person--” A small glance at Nace “--who needs to answer the question.” She looked at Vale and took a deep breath. “Alright, son. Let’s hear it. When did things first go wrong for you?” Vale fidgeted with his single hand, worried his words might make things worse, but deciding to continue anyways. “I’m sorry my, uh, ‘thing’ isn’t as horrible and murderous as you’d likely all want me to admit to. But if I had to pinpoint an exact spot where I felt things started to go wrong…” He kicked the ground nervously. “It was the very beginning. When I found out I was paired with Alraada. I was overjoyed and ecstatic. She’d been the first person I’d talked to and she was so nice, so different from...well…” He gestured to the drunk on the floor. “But she never seemed to be as...enthused I guess as me. So I kinda started to assume that...she was just faking when she was being happy. For my sake.” His leg had stopped bouncing and he cleared his throat awkwardly. “B-But let’s just get back to roasting me now, since we’re all having fun with that while you’re here to keep my on a leash.” The end of his sentence trailed off with venom attached to it. Albany tilted her head slightly, concern in her expression. “Vale…” “No, no, it’s fine, you’re right,” He’d have crossed his arms as if he could. “Let’s just keep going.”

Aberdeen's eyes were shooting daggers at Vale, the fighter nearly jumping out of their seat and getting into yet another screaming match with the man. However, they remained seated and let out a long, exhausted sigh. "It DOES matter." They spat at the man. "Do you realize how fucked up I was that night? Maicy tried to comfort me with a hand on the shoulder and I nearly decked her because I was so fucking jumpy!" They said, their hands fidgeting.
"You never apologized. It doesn't matter if I believe you or not, the simple ACT of apologizing would have helped!! Instead, you avoided me, hurt one of my friends, and insulted my......situation.. back at the hospital, you fucking prick!!" Their words were laced with venom, Aberdeen clearly already peeved. The fighter ripped the prosthetic skin from around their neck and removed their head.
Pointing to the smoke, they continued their tirade. "You think its FUNNY to tell me that I should 'keep my head on straight!?' How about I tell you to get a hold of yourself, what with you puppeteering your limbs around with your powers! You can hide yours easily, I can't!!" They growled before taking another deep breath. "But you're right. I wouldn't believe you now, Vale, because like you said to Amil, you wouldn't mean it." Aberdeen leaned back in their chair and clutched their head close to their chest.
Amil scowled at the scientist, the man clearly having pushed one of Amil's buttons. "Well, if you were paying attention to what happened to the fight AT ALL, Cyrus, you would've seen I passed out after hyperventilating! You know, kinda triggered by seeing Alraada get crushed and fighting for my own life! That's not exactly something I'm used to! And after I got back to the hotel, I was informed I wasn't allowed to leave! I would have visited Alraada if I could! So how about you keep your canyon-sized mouth shut! If you don't weren't THERE to see it, you have no place to talk." He snapped.
Amil burst out laughing after hearing Vale stating he'd never apologize, the man snickering throughout the rest of Vale's explanation of events. "OH REALLY!?" He shouted, practically falling out of his chair. "You seem to have forgotten to mention the part where you THREW the cameraman into the fountain, knocking him out cold! Don't try and sugarcoat that shitfest!!" He cackled.
"So of course Nace was upset about it! Hell, I even tried talking Nace OUT of it, hoping the two of us could have a normal date but when it was clear he wasn't about to let it slide, I had to help my soulmate out." He put emphasis on the 'my' as a sort of 'fuck you' to the man he was currently speaking to. "And Albany, you'd be absolutely right in assuming the man's missing arm is my fault. I'd show you HOW I did it, but... I'm a bit tired at the moment." He lied, although not for his own sake but due to the implications it could have on the people around him.
"Vale and I fought, while Nace pissed his pants in the corner. I shattered the man's arm and he hurled the fountain at me. Apparently 'an eye for an eye' was a phrase never uttered in your household." He raised an eyebrow at the woman. "I threw Nace out of the way and was GOING to attempt to stop the fountain myself until Alraada shoved me out of the way..." His venomous tone softened as he mentioned the last part.
"After that, I started to hyperventilate and the rest is a blur." He finished, grinding his teeth now as he tried to unscramble the memories Zadinya had formed while in control. "But, unlike Vale, I am willing to admit my mistakes. I was in no place to fight with him. That fight should have been between him and Nace. I suppose I had some emotional issues with Vale already that sort of let themselves loose in our battle." He frowned.
"I was guilty by association in Vale's eyes from the start. The day he met me, he kept me as far away from him as possible no matter how kind I was. This, coupled with the fact that my current partner still has feelings for the walking body bag, is probably why I lashed out so violently." He stated, a wry grin on his face. "But if Vale isn't going to apologize for his part, I see no reason to either. The only thing I'm sorry about is that Alraada had to get hurt. It shouldn't have been her. It definitely should have been me."
He smiled at Vale. "But here it is, Vale, my best friend!! Now they know both sides to the story! I am absolutely to share the blame in this whole thing! Not that its a surprise. Hell, EVERYONE in this experiment has held me at an arms distance! All because I was Nace's soulmate, as though it were my choice." He glanced around at the group, his smile fading. "Not that it matters now. This whole fight is gonna get held over both of our heads for the rest of this experiment~!" He shrugged.

Alti nodded at the semi-chipper woman, waving a hand at her suggestion as he felt there was no need to bring up that mess again. He bent over, focusing on eating his cupcake as he listened to all the yelling, when Amil suddenly spoke up. Alti huffed, straightening himself up from his previously laid-back slouch after Amil snapped back, now --as if by the flip of a switch-- completely prepared to contribute to the discussion. With a wry smirk slowly creeping on his lips, he turned to the other man and leaned forward to get a better look at his face while his mind was at work replaying the more grisly events of yesterday's convention. "It seems you weren't even paying attention to the fight you helped to start, either! Now, maybe Cyrus may have not been giving his full attention to the fight --I mean, how could he, being amongst one of the few people who cared to actually help Alraada in her time of need-- but I sure fucking did, and what I saw, and what you're telling this nice, young lady over here," he snickered, "just doesn't add up, sooo.... what's the truth? You sure you 'passed out' after seeing Lettuce get smacked, or were you just, you know, not all there?" he said, knocking his skull a few times for emphasis. "But like Vale, you seem to have noooo problem not dishing out the full story~~" he muttered more to himself, his voice still carrying to the pair of ears beside him. Placing the half-eaten cupcake next to its partner, Alti giddily raised his hand at Albany, going " Ooh ooh ooh!, permission to be the missing third side to the story!" before granting himself the honors of filling everyone else in on yesterday's mayhem. As he listened to Amil go on and fill in the missing beginning of the fight into his memories, with the second half that he was actually present for now being brought to light to the other more inattentive experimentees, he couldn't help but notice some holes in the other man's story. And with the info he gathered the other day just by observing, along with the little snippets of damning intel he acquired the week Amil even joined this shitstorm, he couldn't shake the feeling that he knew why. "Yes, he hyperventilated, guys! That's the full story!" he chimed, before pointing a finger at the other scantily-dressed man. "Uh, now was this pathetic feat achieved before or after I saw you try to throw boulders at our birthday boy here? Because if you ask me," he retorted, going back to his earlier observation, "you were definitely fucking awake when I saw you guys fighting out there! Oh, why you two even gathered up a nice crowd while you were killing each other, if I recall correctly..." He placed a hand on his chin and assumed a thoughtful pose, looking up at the ceiling as he pretended to fish for information that was already present. "...Yeah! All kinds of costumed freaks were standing by, oh! -- at a safe distance, of course-- taking pictures, recording videos.... Why, I wouldn't be shocked if those congoers already shared all that Comic Con excitement with the whole damn world, ehehehe...." Once his snickering ceased, he clasped his hands together to continue. "Anyway- THEN, I believe, you passed out once the scientists came and broke things up and took Lettuce to the hospital. Funny how no one thought to see if the passed-out bitch in the cheap outfit needed to be checked out, but hey that's not any of my business who the medics deem worthy of being aided as the days go by......" Alti brought the cupcake back up to his mouth, bringing his voice down to a low, but audible mutter. "Who knows? Maybe they just knew of your powers' origins already and could tell there was just no saving you...."

“Thank you for your contribution, Cyrus. But that was not an answer to the question. I asked when things went bad for you specifically. Not the whole group. I need to be able to pinpoint where everyone’s initial problems stemmed from--and that includes solved ones. It will help me be able to help you better if I know what made things uncomfortable for you, big or small.” The scientist clicked his tongue sharply and audibly once she was finished chastising him and praising his partner. What's making me uncomfortable is this bullshit right now. "Well lucky for us then, the night I nearly left the experiment is also relevant to your son's uncanny need to fight everything. He and my partner got into a fight, tore up the entire establishments facade to where everyone was evacuated. But water under the bridge. The end. Happy?" Frankly, those entire first two days were incredibly rough for him, vaguely remembering the breakdown he'd had after Alti opened up that hellportal and shattered his atheistic comfort in the idea that maybe 'those people' had all been wrong. He shook his head a little bit as if to shake away the uneasiness. The final straw had been that fight, so it was the correct answer. There was no need to dwell on or relive the past discretions any further. Clearly agitated by the fact that he needed to dredge up old news, he furiously tapped the inside of his elbow impatiently with his fingers and crossed his arms tighter with each passing phrase. God she wanted to talk about 'uncomfortable', this therapy session was already turning out to be one of the most uncomfortable things in the whole damn experiment so far. The almost self-hug his arm cross had turned into immediately broke apart as Amil jabbed right back at him. It wasn't as though he didn't expect it, especially on wake of their previous banter sessions. But for some reason, a nerve had been struck, and Cyrus immediately found himself up in arms. With any trace of playful snark gone from his voice, his previous hint of salt had been replaced with pure bitterness. "Yeah!? The fuck do you know, huh!? You were too fucking busy picking a fight with him in a public goddamn place to even know what the fuck was going on with the normal bystanders that you three tossed aside like garbage. You're fucking lucky nobody was crushed in the absolute stampede or killed by the hail of fucking glass. So since words are the only thing I got as one of those average ol' bystanders, I'll open my 'canyon mouth 'as much as I goddamn please." He punctuated each accusation with the flourish of his arms, gesticulating between the three absurdly dressed assholes before planting his hand firmly on his leg and leaning forward. A hint of guilt now laced through his words. "You think I wouldn't have been there if I could've been? Alraada was with us after I guess whatever happened with the cameraman, but she took off by herself when those earthquakes started. I chased after her but we got separated by waves and waves of hysterical nerds and panic. Trust me, if I'd been able to keep up..." he frowned at the ground, gripping the fabric of his pants, "that would've gone differently. I can tell you for sure nobody'd be taking any bullets for anyone." "It seems you weren't even paying attention to the fight you helped to start, either! Now, maybe Cyrus may have not been giving his full attention to the fight --I mean, how could he, being amongst one of the few people who cared to actually help Alraada in her time of need-- but Isure fucking did, and what I saw, and what you're telling this nice, young lady over here," he snickered, "just doesn't add up, sooo.... what's the truth? You sure you 'passed out' after seeing Lettuce get smacked, or were you just, you know, not all there?" he said, knocking his skull a few times for emphasis. His partner piped up as well, Cyrus calming down slightly as he defended his actions. Alti wasn't wrong, he hadn't been paying attention to the fight whatsoever. So quietly he listened to the outsider's version of the story, the third side to it if you will.

Maicy gave a bit of a surprised look at what Albany said. It was mature and meaningful for once.
Aaaand here's the question that is the most difficult for Maicy to answer. Still, even if it wasn't, there was Aberdeen's harsh (yet pretty justified,) words towards Vale and the spat between Cyrus, Alti or Amil was going about. Maicy couldn't be able to say anything, feeling like she would make the matter worse. She turned to Albany after Cyrus has his say on the matter.
"W-Well... to answer your question Mrs. Vinaigrette...... well, there are three contributing factors in my life that cause me blame myself and apologize a lot. The minor one being from my childhood. Two major ones being from middle school and...... w-when I was in one of my missions." You know the one you're talking about, Maicy. "Should I start with the childhood portion first?"
The nervousness in Maicy's voice is pretty damn noticeable right now Piami gave a bit of a light smile at what Albany said. Guess Piami should not have to worry about him anymore. Still.. she hopes that he'll find ways to help himself at least. She turned to Galystris and gave a bit of a bigger smile
After the whole commotion with with Vale and the spat between three other contestant happened (and Piami was too scared to speak up about it.), she turned to Maicy as she answered Albany's question, hinting that there is more reason to why Maicy blames herself a lot, to which Piami frowned at.

Maybe they just knew of your powers' origins already and could tell there was just no saving you...." Amil rolled his eyes as the couple chastised him, having half a mind to ignore there words entirely but knowing all to well their 'therapist' wouldn't allow for that. He turned to face the two, any joy in his face gone. He let out a sigh and spoke up. "Oh please, Cyrus. Things would have gone the exact same way whether you were there or not. You would've been too busy shaking in your boots." "And Alti, while I said I passed out after hyperventilating, I didn't say it was immediate. If you were listening, I said that once I started hyperventilating the rest of the fight was a blur." He retorted. "It adds up perfectly. Once I was in that panicked state of mind, I couldn't form the memories of whatever happened next! Although, while my attacks were all focused on Vale, he still hurled a fountain towards a packed convention center. If I remember correctly his exact words were...." Amil cleared his throat. " 'I said I'd prefer people not be around for this, but to be honest, there have already been so many casualties from these little encounters... what's a few more?' " He mimicked Vale's words. "And before you say something like 'but how could you remember' this was right before he threw the fountain. I said I would share the blame already, I don't know why you're pressing this further. He threw the fountain and I threw boulders. At least the boulders I threw didn-" Amil stopped mid sentence, his eyes widening and his brow furrowing. "Wait, you said boulders, right....? No... No, that can't be right..... I... I didn't throw boulders, did I....?" Amil's attention snapped towards Vale, his face in a state of panic. "Listen, Vale, fuck our fight, forget all the quarreling we've been doing. I need you to tell me the truth right now. Did I really throw boulders at you, or is Alti over-exaggerating" He muttered shakily. "Please, I need to know. This is extremely important."

Alraada felt comfort in Albany's presence, until it was Vale's turn to answer. Alraada's free hand clenched into a fist. She felt...hurt at Vale's comments about being paired with her. She immediantly took it personally. She wondered even more if the times he seemed to be happy to be around her was him lying. Lying. Alraada despised liars. "What the fuck do you take me for, vale? If you thought I was faking, would that mean you were too when you were happy? Like at wisney place, and the night after the costume shop....?" She muttered, still not able to look up at Albany or vale. "I hate liars. I hate them. Lying is despicable. Call me a hypocrite for faking happiness fucking once, but it's still wrong." She bowed her head further. "I knew you would have preferred someone else. Maybe that one girl in the beginning of the experiment. Willow, right? You liked her a lot. But you're stuck with 'lil ol me! Sorry for not experiencing happiness as deeply as much as the next person, but that's just who I am. And you're fucking stuck with me. Yesterday was hell, it was terrible, but at least I could remember all the times that we had fun, all the times where I thought you were genuine." She looked vale in the eye. "And you're telling me that through all of that, you thought I was lying to you. One can only be so genuine when you think your partner is lying. You just took all the half decent memories I had with you and took a giant shit on them." Alraada's voice elevated to a louder volume, but not quite to a yell. "I'm sorry that I'M making this experiment hard for YOU. I knew you never liked me. I was right to doubt that you had forgiven me from the first day, wasn't I?!"She took a few deep breaths and looked back away from the vinaigrettes. "Excuse my behavior. This isn't the issue on the table. If I misunderstood, I'm sorry." She probably wouldn't be able to look vale or Albany in the eye for a while. (( cassiroll))

Albany blinked in shock when Aberdeen's head came off. "No...head..." She flushed a bit, her shoulders tensing before quickly adverting her eyes and writing in her notebook. "I'm sorry, that reaction was rude of me. I uh...I wasn't expecting that." She glanced at her son, a hint of betrayal that this had been left out of their conversations, but Vale was currently too preoccupied to notice. "OH I can hide mine easily can I?!" Aberdeen's rise in volume seemed to be infectious. "So wearing a fucking body suit 24/7 is 'hiding it easily' At least your head was like that when you were born! You didn't have to have it hacked from your sockets with a fucking ax!!!" He gripped the empty shoulder where his arm should have been. "Like you'd even have let me get close to you to say something! You're all fucking terrified of me! Hell, my own damn mother's always been terrified of me! I'm terrified of me!" Albany looked at her son, pain clear in her eyes. Her counselor attitude fell away for a moment as she reached out to put a hand on the man's shoulder, but he pulled away. "V-Vale, that's real progress," Her voice sounded shaky, "It's good for you to be able to...a-admit these things--." "Mom, stop it!"Albany started a bit with the harshness of his voice. Her fingers trailed one of the scars on her cheek absentmindedly. She looked up at the ceiling for a moment and wiped her eyes before clearing her throat. "Enough of that, we aren't going to make any progress through yelling." She said, her voice devoid of emotion. She pointed between the now-headless fighter and the wrestler. "Vale and I can work things out any time, but you two need to solve this. You aren't going to be able to make it through this experiment for another two months if you hate each other. Vale--you're bringing outside issues into this current dispute. I'd ask you kindly to stop and focus on what's going on here, right now. If this question pertains to it than of course, but we need to slow things down. Everyone needs to take a deep breath, and keep calm." Albany gave him the most genuine smile she could muster after her son's verbal slap to the face. "I know you're being sarcastic, but yes, I am happy. You've been focusing a lot on Vale, but as I said, this is a session for everyone." She had her pen poised to write more. "Does your partner often have violent tendencies?" She glanced over at Alti. "And does he experience remorse for the action, or for displeasing you? There is a difference." Her eyes softened. "I'm not trying to bring up old memories, but physical and verbal attacks need to be addressed early on, before they happen again. And understanding how your partner feels about his actions is a good way of knowing what to work on next. Violent households will continue to be violent if the source of this problem isn't dealt with immediately." Albany nodded. "If you'd like to divide it, you may. However you feel is appropriate." She glanced around. "And I encourage everyone to be respectful of Maicy." A quick look to Aberdeen. "And to pay attention, even though there are multiple discussions happening." Her tone was a little sweeter. "Your soulmate is opening up to you, Aberdeen. Perhaps in return you can talk about some things as well? It doesn't have to be about your home life, but I think both of you could use some deeper conversations. Doesn't have to be anything big. Just think about it." Albany's eyes went wide as Amil quoted her son, her head snapping towards him. "Vale, that is uncalled for." That hidden anger had sparked again. "Have these last ten years done nothing? You spend a few weeks out of the safe house and you're right back to your old ways. I'm more than disappointed, I am disgusted. That isn't supposed to be you anymore Vale--!" "--I thought we could work things out another time," Vale said bitterly, clearly peeved Amil had brought that up. He glanced over at Amil, feeling a headache coming on. "And stop acting like you care about Alraada, you fucking hypocrite! But yeah, you tossed around some boulders. You also tossed around some great quotes yourself! 'Your toys break if you don't take good care of them', right?!" Even repeating this line had him seething with anger. He looked ready to jump up and start another fight. Alraada's reaction to his honesty had the wrestler finally at his breaking point. He stood up out of his seat and looked right at her. "I haven't been faking it!! I've been genuine this entire fucking time with you!! AND YOU JUST REFUSE! TO SEE IT!" He grabbed at his chest as though he were holding himself in. "And fuck Willow, wherever the hell she is! Willow isn't the girl I've been spending the last two weeks of my life with. Willow isn't the one who--!!" He struggled for a moment as he pulled something out of his suit. "Who gave me THIS!" It was the whale keychain Alraada had won for him at the amusement park. He cupped it gently in his hand despite how aggressively he continued to speak. "I would bring down this entire FUCKING building to undo what happened to you--to undo what I did. It was my fault! I'm! SORRY!!" He sounded close to tears at this point. "WHY WON'T YOU BELIEVE ME?! WHY CAN'T YOU JUST ACCEPT THAT I CARE ABOUT YOU, ALRAADA?!"He collapsed back into his chair as though that had taken everything out of him. He looked down sadly at the keychain in his hand, slowly closing his palm around it.
Albany shifted awkwardly in her seat, clearing her throat. "Well, um..." She seemed at a loss for words.
