Aberdeen woke up on the floor, having fallen asleep while cuddling Maicy the night before after they'd had sex. The fighter picked themself off the ground and looked towards their partner, a mix of yellow and pink washing over their smoky head for a moment before the walked over to their bag and rummaged through it. The fighter picked out the outfit they'd worn to the airport that first fateful day and quickly made their way into the bathroom to get dressed and go through their morning routine.
Once called down to the cafe by Elenara, Aberdeen sat at one of the available tables and kicked their feet up. "Karaoke.... fun." They muttered to themself.
Amil woke up and quickly dressed himself in a pair of booty shorts and a crop top before walking over to Nace's still sleeping body and shaking him awake. "Hey, babe, wake up. Elenara wants us downstairs for the date." He whispered before sauntering off to the bathroom and fixing his hair and makeup. Once downstairs, he stood in the doorway of the cafe, not particularly fond of interacting with anyone else in the room.

Maicy had woken up, after a nights sleep while she was cuddling with Aberdeen as the night ends. She heard Elenara called down for... Oh, Karaoke! Something nice for once! Maicy got up and she began to wore the oufit she wore when she first arrived. Her Con Heiress outfit. She walked downstairs, went to the cafe, and sees Aberdeen is at the nearest table. She blushed and smiled at the sight of her partner as she walked over and sat next to them.
"Hey Aberdeen." Maicy cheerfully spoken softly "Good morning." With a depressing night past, Piami woken up. She looked over to Galystris, who is still sleeping. Piami was tempted to wake her up but she reconsidered. It's probably best to let Galy wake up at her own time. She got herself ready. Wearing the outfit she first wore when she arrived here. She noticed Elenara called down for Karaoke. She walked downstairs and over to the cafe. She noticed Aberdeen and Maicy there. She smiled at waved at the two.
"Hey guys" Piami spoken meekily, unsure how the two feel about her at this point.

The previous night's events still weighed heavily in Cyrus's mind, the scientist in a dreary haze upon awakening. His leaden arm dragged his cellphone off the table, the man reluctant to unlock the main screen and open up Pandora's box once again. For last night, what started with an innocuous skimming of e-mails ended with the panic that accompanied the feeling of being dragged out of complacency and into despair. A heavy reminder of what sort of reality he'd been ignoring, and would be waiting for him when he returned home.
It had been almost a year since Angela Uriel, Enoch's mother began her litigation, the woman having crawled out of the woodwork at the news that her son was in a persistent vegetative state. It had been 2 months before she reared her ugly head. Two long, arduous months of visiting, waiting for a prognosis, hoping... and eventually coming to terms with the verdict that had been given. He'd been angry at first, the pacifist breaking down and verbally and violently lashing out at the devil's advocate that was the hospital staff. "Even if by some miracle he does 'wake up', he will never achieve any sort of higher brain function than a vegetative state." It became hard to even visit any longer, the scientist disappearing from the hospital ward from days at a time and leaving his partner attended by no one but the routine nurse.
But he'd finally come to terms with it, forcing himself to let go of the body that was no longer his partner and moving forward as proxy with what his fiance would have wanted: to be removed from life support and allowed to die. However Angela, who had appeared during those days where he couldn't bring himself to sit in that cold and sterile room, wasn't about to let that happen. She challenged his decision, stating that as Enoch's mother the final say was hers to have. And due to the scientist's stubbornness, his heel-dragging towards his partner's desire for marital bliss, the two were not yet legally bound as a married couple. 'Fiance' meant nothing in the eyes of the law.
Nevertheless, as designated proxy he went ahead with his decision, stepping over Angela's threats and what appeared to be empty promises of ruin. But those empty promises weren't so empty after all, a hideous pink summons appearing in his mailbox soon after. Enoch's mother, in her fit of entitlement to a son who broke off contact with her 7 years ago, sued for all of her son's estate. His assets, his bank accounts, and what really struck the mourning partner hardest of all was her desire for his property -- 50% ownership over what had been their home. Cyrus immediately fought back, hoping for an easy victory to put this nonsense to rest, but was met with flood after flood of buried memories and photographs of his previous 'career endeavors' in a valiant attempt to prove in court that he as taking advantage of her wayward and well-employed son.
"I don't fu-- I don't c-care about his money. I'd donate it all to charity at this point, just p-please let me keep my damn house..."
Several months drudged by, filled with tedious amounts of 'he said she said' evidence on both sides, until the case was finally thrown out. But the ever-stubborn Angela, more stubborn than her astrophysicist son had been in his heyday, appealed to the county court, keeping the engineer swept up in this litigious whirlwind without sign of an end.
It was an e-mail from Angela's lawyer that he'd noticed upon opening his phone and sending a quick text to their green-haired compadre, a small "hope ur doing ok!" after Alti had swept him out of the threat of brewing conflict. The name of the sender was already enough to make his stomach grow cold, but the contents were enough to send Cyrus spiraling. 'We at Abrams & Goldberg find it surprising that such a loving fiance would be fooling around on national television on the anniversary of his partner's death, and with what appear to be associates from his previous line of work.' The realization of this new leverage against him and his home, the guilt of forgetting such an important day, and the ever-present question of 'is moving on like this truly okay' was too much for the emotionally-repressed engineer to handle, the man entirely breaking down.
"...Let the guy go?? Fuck... It ain't as simple as just 'letting the guy go'." He firmly tugged at the locks of his hair gaze trained on the floor in front of him, remaining in contemplative silence, punctuated only with his hoarse breathing, until it was broken by a frustrated of sharp slaps to his leg. "Goddamnit I just, I can't fucking believe I forgot, w-what the fuck is wrong with me!?"
Upon awakening Cyrus found his body sore and tense from what he could only assume was an anxiety attack. Not that he'd had too many of those, but the few times they had felt akin to what he could only assume a heart attack felt like. Gaze still trained on that cheerfully colorful lock screen, he finally made the decision to slap the phone facedown on the night table. He wasn't going to look at that e-mail anymore. His partner had done the best he could to keep him calm the night before, and tried to cheer him up by presenting him with the Twister prize from weeks before. Donning the specially-made outfit, he held onto Alti's arm and dragged his feet through the portal into the cafe. Unfortunately the supreme scienbitch herself wouldn't let him take the day off, Cyrus in no mood for something like karaoke this morning. Maybe I'll just get a couple of drinks and ride the day out.

Elenara wants us downstairs for the date." He whispered before sauntering off to the bathroom and fixing his hair and makeup. Once downstairs, he stood in the doorway of the cafe, not particularly fond of interacting with anyone else in the room. Nace yawned sleepily, sleeping surprisingly well despite the ever present dark cloud that was 'Mr. Z' hanging over the couples heads. He wasted no time in getting ready while his partner did the same in the restroom. It was just a normal date today, right? Nothing particularly special or out of place. Karaoke was one of the cheesiest things he could imagine doing with someone like Amil and himself, but perhaps the two could get a laugh and do a strip tease or something on stage together. If only to fuck with the other contestants or--if they were lucky--any poor civilians trying to enjoy horrible singing. Dressed up in torn jeans and a bright pink tank top, he slicked back his hair quickly before joining Amil downstairs, giving him a long kiss and a devilish smile. "We'll make today a nice date," He promised, "if we're all gonna be together, no use in pulling shit now. So relax. We'll worry about all that other stuff later, ey?"
Vale woke up sadly in his lonely bedroom. He hadn't even checked in with his partner since the previous evening. It was clear she needed space after yet another fuck up on his part. He started to get ready, stopped, and looked himself over in the mirror for a long moment. "Fuck it," He muttered, tearing off his mask. He put on a pair of green shorts and a plain white t-shirt before heading downstairs to the cafe, his limbs and face completely uncovered. At this point, why bother? Who did he have to impress anymore? He sat down at the farthest table in the corner. Alone.

Alti awoke with bleary eyes as he wiggled his arms away from their initial grasp around his partner's waist once he too broke from his slumber. Tearing himself from their sheets, he stood before the door and stretched, it being clear in his sluggish motions that last night's episode had really knocked him down a few pegs. After all the trials the couple had personally faced, this one had to have been the most challenging, the man having literally no real experience in that field to properly console his partner. Even now, the next morning after, it'd been made apparent in how the engineer dragged his body out of bed that there was no simple combination of words that'd suddenly fix his boyfriend's feelings this time.
"W-well," he awkwardly stammered, the hand that was once caressing his boyfriend's shoulder now sliding down the other's arm, "it's not... as bad as people make... this seem. I mean, yeah you can't see him, but that doesn't mean he's gone.... He just kind of, 'passed on'....."
"That's still just as bad though... i-isn't it?" His body slumped forward as Alti's hand comfortingly stroked his arm, his weight planted on his elbows. "Passed on or gone, he's still gone to me, y-yeah?"
At the sound of the announcement calling all of the experimenters downstairs for the next date, Alti shook his head lightly before portalling away to change, still embittered by his fruitless results. After a few moments of flipping through a section or two of his checkerboard-colored wardrobe, he snatched a few pieces and held them out in front of him when an idea came to mind. Duh! Immediately, he portalled himself to his sewing room where hung neatly on the rack of newly-finished articles was the matching outfit he made Cyrus for winning that life-threatening game of Twister all those weeks ago. Maybe this could help! he thought before he laid the top and trousers on a nearby table and switched clothes. Once he added accessories and freshened up, he sped through an exiting portal to present his partner with his prize, the man doing his best to stifle his smile as the clearly downtrodden man claimed the ensemble with zero reluctance and donned it on. Linking arms, the two took their usual means of shortcut down to the cafe amongst the others, Alti noticing right away his boyfriend's immediate look of disdain with the thought of going though another one of these mad dates after what went on last night. Singing?
"Do we have to.....?" he mumbled in annoyance.

Waking up in the same place she fell the day before, a pain throbbed in Alraada's back. She passed out in an alley. Alraada thanked whatever might be out there that kept her out of the danger that sleeping in an alleyway would have created, as she spent a while struggling to pull herself off of the ground. In more pain that she was earlier, she pulled herself upward eventually by holding her crutches for support. Letting out a pained groan and she stood up, she peered at her reflection in a nearby window. She was covered in dirt, dried blood, and bruises. She looked like she had just crawled out of some terrible gang fight. She sighed to herself. She knew she has to go upstairs and change, but she didn't want to see vale. Just thinking of him made a pit grow in her stomach. She just wanted to curl up and go back to sleep, but another night in the alleyway would not be safe or good on any level. Both extremely saddened and relieved that no one, not even her soulmate came looking for her, she continued towards the door, as people stopped and looked at her. She heard various whispers about how "she was the one with that super guy when comic con got destroyed" and "wasn't she there when the zoo flooded too?" Tired of the constant remarks, she sent a terrifying glare to one of the bystanders, something she previously was unable to muster, silencing them immediately. Continuing in, she saw various people congregated in the cafe as usual. Examining the tables, she saw the people before. Catching vale in the corner of her eye, she directed her gaze away from him, unable to deal with even the thought of confrontation. Scanning the others, she wondered who she could lay her inquiry on. Catching a familiar pair in her eye, she nodded to herself grimly. Approaching Cyrus and Alti, the people she was most comfortable around, she spoke up "Hey." She muttered, her voice low in volume and pitch. Averting her eyes from the people in front of her, her hands clenched tightly around the handles of her crutches instinctively. "Are we supposed to be here or is it a free day?" She inquired, her voice clear as day, but holding an unnerving sense of uncertainty. ------------------- She read every message. She tried to call the number desperately, yet to no avail. She was gone. And Galystris wasn't even there to support the girl she cared so much for. But even that called into question. The tear stains remained in her pillow from the night before served as a grim reminder of what she had seen. Sitting up and staring silently out the window, she ran a hand through her hair, silently running all the times with her old friends she remembered through her head. It felt more like fiction than reality, honestly. She was that different back then it seemed that she was watching another person in her place. Throwing on what very well may have been the fiftieth collared shirt she owned and a skirt to match, she considered herself ready to go. Noticing her soulmate was already gone, she glowered at the door, a defeated expression across her burned face. She both hated and loved her under-reaction. This was who she was? An asshole who can't even spend a day crying over the death of her friend. Her breath sharpened, her thoughts dissolving into an incoherent mess of what she should have done. Thinking she was ready to leave was foolish. She wasn't ready. The tiny bit of feeling that she couldn't identify the source of tore at her thoughts, asking her over and over "Did you care enough? Did you cry enough? Are you sad now just because you are feeling pity for yourself?" Galystris grabbed into the door handle, almost ripping it out as she pulled it open, as she forced herself out of the room, stumbling into the halls. Inhaling sharply, she gained her balance again through the reality that was spinning out around her. Whispering curses to herself, she continued down the hallway, slightly unsteadily. Over the course of a minute or so she regained her trademark blank expression that she carried so often. Arriving in the elevator, watching it descend to the garish ground floor through the window, Galystris waited patiently for the trio to end. Once it did just that, she exited the elevator, heading to the cafe, continuing as if the night before never happened. Her commonly poised and confident step seemed to have been replaced with a similar walk that seemed only slightly....off. She arrived in the cafe and sat 'nonchalantly' at one of the tables, eyes averted away from everyone, her gaze planted firmly on the floor. (( LadyAurablade not u))

Aberdeen looked over to their partner and giggled. "Hey! Goodmorning~!" They chimed happily as they reached for their partner's hand and held it. Aberdeen looked off towards the entrance as everyone began showing up, noticing how absolutely broken and distraught each contestant looked. It was bizarre to say the least. After spending over a month with these people and getting to see their usual attitudes, the sudden shift in tone was unsettling. "Wh.....what the hell happened to everyone..?" They muttered to themself as they watched the groups drag themselves in. The fighter was brought to attention by Piami, who also seemed relatively down. Did I miss something, or....? "Uh, hey kiddo. You get in a fight with the ice queen or something?" Aberdeen looked off to the side, towards the war general and raised an eyebrow. "Uh... you can sit with us if you want. We're doing karaoke today...or.. something.." The fighter shrugged.
Amil kissed his partner back, a light blush crossing his face followed by a meek smile. "Yeah, sounds good." He responded, his smile quickly fading afterwards as his mind returned to the darker place it had been stuck since last night. It had been a month since the last deal he'd made. With the way Zadinya had set the deal up, this meant even the slightest emotional irregularity could send him over the edge and right into the hands of the demon. Amil audibly gulped as a chill ran up his spine. He watched the room fill with the other humdrum contestants, seemingly in as terrible a mood as he was. A pit grew in his stomach as dread seemed to encompass the area. There'd never been a day where everyone seemed so depressed. It was enough to make the man uneasy. He leaned against his partner and rested his head on Nace's shoulder. "I wish we just had a day off." He halfheartedly chuckled. "I'd much rather just sleep in. Not sing in front of the others.. Especially when they all look like they've got the emotional range of a corpse, today." He snickered.

Having led the pair over to the nearest table that maintained a decent radius of empty space between them and the other couples (who appeared to have the same idea in mind), Alti inwardly sulked in his seat. He leaned heavily against the edge of the table on an elbow, rudely breaking the table etiquette skills he didn't possess by propping his head on the base of his palm as he silently observed his soulmate's demeanor and briefly did the same to the others. His other arm had still been preoccupied with his partner's attention. He looked down at the napkins and menus with a sigh at the set atmosphere for the terrible date that'd surely follow under the cynical scientist's control, the sound of a familiar voice prematurely cutting off another juvenile suggestion to bail. "Heyy, Lettu- WH--" he snapped from his groggy response after looking up and away from the glorified food pamphlets, the bruises and bloodstains covering the girl's already battered frame having taken him by surprise. Raising a brow at her casual-sounding question, Alti eyed her as he made the decision to get his response out of the way before focusing on the real topic of concern. "Uh.. y-yeah, we just got called down for singing or whatever once the science bitch comes ba-- the fuck happened to you?" he bluntly asked.

Maicy giggled as well as her partner held onto her hand. She began to hold onto theirs as well. She did notice that.... almost everyone else seem to look like they just gotten hit with the bad mood hammer. Which is odd. Well, she got why Vale is like this but what the hell happened to everyone else?
She then notice Piami walked up to her and Aberdeen who, while she is trying her best to smile, seems down as well. Though, she can make a wild guess and it has something to do with Galystris. Just be glad Giaile's not here to kick your ass, Ice Queen.
Maicy nodded at the pop idol.
"And trust me ol' Pip, I'm sure you and Aberdeen would be the best singers in the room." Maicy chuckled. "Anyways, wanna sit with us?"
Piami nodded. "Y-Yeah, thank you guys" she smiled a bit more as she sat across the purple duo. "And the reason why I'm a little distant towards Galy at the moment is..." Piami lowered down her voice so no one else but Maicy and Aberdeen can hear her. "I... had a bit of a falling out with her because she was being overly mean, such as calling me an imbicile on live T.V. and accusing of just stand still when Alti and Cyrus were arriving. I tried my best to stand it... but I couldn't. I ran off during the show afterwards, not wanting to put up with her."
When Maicy heard Piami told her and Aberdeen, she's not surprise hearing about Galystris's action. She felt bad for Piami, don't get her wrong. Just the fact that Galystris's cold-hearted actions is becoming one of the least surprising things since the mayor of her home town has been having issues with national lawn mower. Again.
"Honestly, I am not surprised but I am sorry that this has happened to you, Pip." Maicy spoken, sounding sincerely sympathetic.

"I couldn't imagine being stuck with her for the rest of your life. I could barely last a day. She's just a bitch for no damn reason other than to BE a bitch. Don't let people like that get to you." They continued, crossing their arms across their chest. "Just dump her ass when this whole experiment is over. If THAT'S you soulmate, you're better off without one." Aberdeen finished, letting out a long yawn.

"I may have to take your advice if her cold nature keeps up." Piami responded meekly, still keeping her voice low. She looked at both Maicy and Aberdeen for a moment and smiled a bit more.
"You two seemed to be like a good couple." she spoken to the purple duo. Piami chuckled a bit nervously "If I'm honest, I am a little jealous but I am happy you two seemed to be working well."
Maicy chuckled and scratched the back of her head
"You're very kind, Pip." Maicy responded.
Maicy had a bit of guilt within her chest, given earlier in the expirament, she was jealous of Piami for seeming like she was having a good time with Iksel. Speaking of which, whatever happened with him and Cheri??

All she wanted was to see where some letter got her. All she wanted was to find something interesting in her boring life. All she wanted was to be reasonable in a sea of blithering morons. And look where it got her. The holding cell was a stark white, completely barren except for maybe one bench. The fluorescent lights burned her eyes each time she’d open them, and the oppressive bars looming over were a constant reminder of her situation. Not like she was getting any decent accommodations when she’d be slaughtered like an animal just for the sake of a sick addiction. The sadistic bitch that called herself a scientist sure wouldn't afford her that luxury. No way was she resigning like an animal, however: there was always hope for survival, even in the most menial of ways. One of them being listening in on Elenara any time she was nearby, picking up on as many cues as possible. At least the subjects were doing half-decent if not catty as hell and prone to drama. Nothing was really worth hearing about, but one may never know. Except when details of the final date were revealed in the most careless fashion possible for someone of her intellect. An opportunity! As soon as her captor's attention was drawn elsewhere, Sse pulled the sunglasses off her face, the tips at the edges just sharp enough after all the filing she did and fiddled with the lock on the other side. Her face tightened with almost inhuman levels of focus before she finally heard the sweet, sweet click signaling her freedom. It was then that she immediately bolted to the entrance and immediately snuck up to the door, holding it just a tad in case it would close again. As soon as she saw Elenara cross out of her field of vision, she busted the door open and high-tailed it out of the facility. She didn't care if anyone was watching through the cameras; she was going to die fighting if she had to. Another problem presented itself as soon as she escaped, however. How the hell she was going to get all the way over to her destination with no means of transportation or communication was almost beyond her, leaving one humiliating last resort. She resigned herself to this task as she lifted up her thumb, keeping her arm straight out in case anyone would come, her disheveled appearance helping nothing. It would take at least an hour before any response was received, in the form of a hapless college student. She brushed her fingertips against her sunglasses, knowing that they would at least be sharp enough to do grievous bodily harm, and climbed in. "Express Cafe," she coldly stated to the driver as she took in her surroundings, a run down pick-up truck reeking of rust, junk food, and cigarettes, with the seats not faring any better. "You mean downtown?" "Yes. Floor it."
With all the shit she went through to get here, nothing else mattered but her one goal: get everyone else out of this hellhole rat trap. She casually pulled out an overly delicate chair and sat down, clearing her throat to make her big revelation. "I assume we're all a part of this 'love' experiment, correct?" She asked, keeping a low tone as to make sure no one else outside the group would hear. She watched to make sure they at least saw her bracelet, even if she was either unfamiliar or believed to be away. "Then it would be easy to assume that there is an ulterior motive to this whole operation. I just so happened to escape from one of the company's secret facilities, and I urge you to please find any way possible to remove these bracelets." A horrible sense of urgency was laced in with her otherwise monotone demeanor, as she checked her bracelet once more. Thank goodness, she thought: nothing unusual as of yet. Even if she hated pretty much-hated everyone she knew, feeling responsible for their deaths was something she didn't feel like carrying with her to the grave.

"Uh.. y-yeah, we just got called down for singing or whatever once the science bitch comes ba-- the fuck happened to you?" he bluntly asked. Despite the unusually heavy atmosphere in the cafe, Cyrus hadn't paid it any attention, the spaceman's overall attitude far more spacey than it normally was. That is, until a small familiar voice piped up, the scientist momentarily pulling back from the fog. "Hey Lettuce---" He paused to appraise the battered and bruised girl, facial expresison warping into one of horror. "You look like absolute hell, what the fuck happened??" His expression settled as he did a quiet visual sweep of the room, catching the skinless watermelon out of the corner of his eye sitting alone at another table. "Did that fucker do this?" he seethed, narrowing his eyes. A looming dark figure, easily a few inches taller than him caught the corner of his eye mid-rage, Cyrus freezing and turning his head to look at the vaguely familiar woman, eyebrows drawing together as he dug through his memory to try and place just where he'd seen her before. ...The airport. That was right. Despite her appearance being devoid of that posh snobbery that had made her so stand-out a month ago, there was no mistaking it. She was one of the original contestants. I thought she'd gone home? "I assume we're all a part of this 'love' experiment, correct?" She asked, keeping a low tone as to make sure no one else outside the group would hear. She watched to make sure they at least saw her bracelet, even if she was either unfamiliar or believed to be away. "Then it would be easy to assume that there is an ulterior motive to this whole operation. I just so happened to escape from one of the company's secret facilities, and I urge you to please find any way possible to remove these bracelets." Ulterior motive... secret facility? The scientist stared down at his bracelet once again that still proudly displayed the number 5 on it, the memories of his initial reluctance and rebellion coming flooding back. How skeptical he'd been at the start, determined to dismantle and expose what seemed to be a hokey experiment until well... Cyrus frowned at the disheveled woman, keeping his voice low. "Remove them? What's gonna happen if they stay on -- And what the fuck's going on here, I thought you bailed on day 1?" Bad things, he could only assume. He'd never bothered to try disassembling the hardware himself, although he kicked himself for not considering it after they were shown to have shock capabilities. Arm involuntarily tightening around his partner's, he stared at the returning subject and awaited some sort of answer.

"So break 'em, yeah?" Aberdeen piped up as they rose from their seat. They hadn't seen this woman since the plane ride, but her sudden appearance surely wasn't a coincidence. "Elenara told me that if we try and break these things, they'd kill us, so.... Eh, I guess she coulda been lying. If I smack this as hard as I can against the wall it'll probably shatter." They muttered, walking towards the wall behind them.
Amil raised an eyebrow at the sudden appearance of this new person, someone who'd seemingly been a part of the experiment at some point, days before he and Nace arrived. He watched as the scientist immediately began to panic and rolled his eyes. Although, he could help but feel his heart rate heighten. He turned to Nace, confusion plastered on his face. "So, uh... whattya think we should do?"

Maicy couldn't beleive her eyes. It's the woman that she tried to talk to at the airport.
"Wait, hold on..." Maicy stood from her seat, keeping her voice low. "What is going on here?"
Maicy looked at the Bracelet on her wrist then towards her partner, back to the bracelet.
"Why did Elenara thought pulling this is a good idea."
She looked towards Ortus
"And, do you know what happened with the others? With Arshrin? Sami?" Maicy's tone of voice has became more serious. "Iksel? Cheri? And all those that I had yet to know the names of....?" Piami looked in confusion. A woman she never met before appears and it seems Cyrus, Aberdeen, and Maicy are familiar with her. This is starting to become unnerving for her with what the woman mention and what has been revealed. She sees Maicy becoming more serious as she mention names. The only names Piami is familiar with are Iksel and Cheri. Piami's eyes widen.
"What could... have happened..?" she spoken, more meekly than usual.
