"Major confirmed that the rumors of the bombing were correct. Toronto has been destroyed, and half of Ottawa as well." So it's true. Unfortunately, the blonde wasn't surprised. He wasn't surprised by anything this totalitarian regime that brainwashed its people did, but the one emotion that broiled in his gut was a strong sense of pure disgust. It was already clear to him that the country's value on human life was minimal, with how they chipped and herded the people like cattle. But the sheer number of lives snuffed out in an instant, thousands, perhaps millions, and pretending that it never even happened. Disgusting. He could feel the sneer on his lip growing with the burning, rekindled hatred. How are other countries sitting by and letting this happen? How are they not angry? Retaliating? Why are they not at war with us? He frowned and pushed his glasses up his nose once again, the spectacles continuously sliding down as he hung his head in exhaustion, when Jason turned to address both the two who'd undertaken the rescue mission. "We have quite a lot on our hands don't we? You don't feel like backing out anytime soon, huh?" The redhead half-joked before turning to Megane-kun. "Either way, you guys look a little wiped... You should relax a little. We got the information to confirm what Katy said before... So we all need to relax and decide what we have to do next." "Unless they'd managed to follow you three back... If that's the case, we're kind of in a pickle. Katy, undeniably, has put us all in a lot of danger by coming back here." "Whatever. Does anyone have any ideas? Do you two know if anyone could've been tailing you when you headed back? Any strange people? Strange cars?" He had to bring this group together. If he didn't keep everyone focused, they'd all end up dead due to foolishness. "Gil? Do you have any ideas? For someone who just receieved some bad news, you're very collected. I'm interested if you have some revenge-filled ideas that would help?" Drei looked up at Jason numbly, his fingers running across the back of his neck. The surface was particularly rough today, like a patch of hardened magma thanks to the abnormally high amount of stress. Fingers rhythmically running across the bumpy surface beneath the collar of his turtleneck, he tried to run the previous events back through his mind and pick out anything strange or unusual. But just as he expected, there was a chunk missing. A haze of time spent running from place to place with feedback that was minimal on any sort of detail. Shaking his head he replied, "No. I was entirely focused on getting back to the apartment, and thanks to the vast amount of energy being diverted, I wasn't taking in nearly as much stimuli as usual." The blonde let his head fall forward, a sigh expelled from his mouth as he resumed his hunched position. "However, we should've been moving around 24 miles per hour at our top speed, and a steady 18 miles per hour after that initial burst. On the congested city streets, and taking into account the abundance of one way roads, it's not likely that any sort of car could've kept up with us." Bikes were another concern, but surely Katy would've noticed someone attempting to tail them while on a bike... Right? The echoing of incompetent whimpers from within the bathroom made him question his confidence on that matter. With the flourish of his hand he gestured towards where Katy's laptop now sat, not bothering to look up. "Once we found out it was bugged I took a giant magnet and cooked the insides. Anything electronic should be scrambled or fried." He didn't even notice his painfully stupid egg pun in the process. Gil tried to think of anything that could benefit them, but it was no use. "Ehehe... I'm... not the best at crafting detailed plans, Jay. But," he unraveled the piece of paper he had gotten from his sister, showing it to Jason and the others, "this tells me that I should find my brother. It's from my sister. The only problem is that... I haven't seen or heard from him since the government took him away." As soon as these words hit his ears, Drei pulled his heavy head up to look towards the cyborg, setting his firm gaze on him. "How long ago was it?" he asked flatly. "When did your brother disappear?"

As soon as these words hit his ears, Drei pulled his heavy head up to look towards the cyborg, setting his firm gaze on him. "How long ago was it?" he asked flatly. "When did your brother disappear?" "Uh... it was around a year after my chip got removed. I knew that the chips brainwashed those that had them, so I wanted to get it out of my family as soon as possible. I managed to remove it from my brother, but he ended up being placed in some kind of coma, I think. My parents called the cops soon after. I mean, I'm sure they didn't have ill intentions. It was probably a big shock for them. But when the police got there, they shot my parents and took my brother away. So I don't know where he is. Now that I think about it, I doubt they killed him like they killed our parents. He was only 9 at the time." Gil let out a breath. He didn't say it, but it he actually thought that his brother was dead - murdered, at the hands of the government. The only inclination that he might have been alive was from Farah's note. An immense wave of relief flooded through Gil. "Though it's not like they care about age..." He said bitterly.

Charlie pondered on the notion of there being a plan. She always liked to fantasize about ways she could help the cause with her friends, but now was her real time to shine. With Gil's brother in the mix too, she had an idea.
"I-I guess I could try to get into the prison's computer system find out where Gil's brother is... and maybe we can try and get there somehow..." She blurted, trying to at least get some form of a plan going. then again, she would have no idea how to factor in everyone's abilities. That would probably be for Jason or the collective group to decide.
Or maybe they would have a better plan.

Kaine's head was still tilted toward the ceiling, yet an eyelid crept open to peek at the man speaking. Geez, that's heavy. Heavy was an understatement, but it was rather jarring for him to openly state the execution of his guardian figures. Perhaps that was why the man so easily inserted himself into the group; he could truthfully be a bitter cynic at the core who only finds peace around those who weren't chipped. Or maybe he had a full fledged revenge plot already brewing within the corners of his mind and was eager to sate his tenacious desire. Or both, who knows?
"Well, we'd have to figure out what prison and then whether or not he was even sent to a regular one. If these guys are really serious-" a pause followed as Kaine pushed the palm of his hand against the head as to dull the pain, "-then they might have him in some specialized facility the public might not even know about. I mean, they're willing to rig a house with explosives just for expressing an opinion." Finally, he leaned forward in his seat, drawing in another breath as he rested his head in his palms, "Though... it's also a matter if there's even a midpoint between an attempt to reason and capital punishment on spot." An abrupt gasp escaped his lips as his hands jolted to soothe the sting. "Uh... hate to ask now, but does anyone have any pain relievers or something?"

Elrod couldn't seem to complete his sentence, so Gil opted to finish it for him. Placing a hand on his shoulder before stepping forward, Gil proceeded to tell Kaine and the others the news that they just uncovered. "Major confirmed that the rumors of the bombing were correct. Toronto has been destroyed, and half of Ottawa as well." Elrod flinched at the contact, but was soon calmed. He hated to hear the confirmation of the incident aloud, but of course they'd probably be talking about it a lot. He had to get used to it. He continued to listen to the conversation silently. "My house... it blew up. Th-that's what that sound was... It just... exploded... out of nowhere. Someone was expecting us... Th-they knew I'd come back for it, I guess and..." Katy tried his hardest not to cry, glaring daggers into the floor. "We could've been toast!" This was scary news. If the government had no qualms with destroying a building with people inside, then what was to stop them from destroying the one they were in right now? Elrod could sense many things, but he couldn't sense anything particularly worrying outside their current habitat. Even so, the news was very, very worrying. It would have made him feel sick if he hadn't already felt so. That was harsh. A little too harsh, wasn't it? Sure, Katy had messed up. That didn't mean it was okay to make him feel absolutely horrible about it. Elrod could feel all the sobs and tears along with hearing them faintly from the other room. He would have said something in opposition to the clear abuse, but Elrod didn't like to make enemies. He was a coward, really, and since Jason was the leader, he would have to keep in mind that he couldn't do anything to make Jason hate him- any more than he already did, anyway. Elrod then thought about having to move spots. They certainly should risk it, especially if their comrades had been spotted on the latest journey. It was very dangerous to consider staying there, even with no evidence that they had been followed. Elrod made a small noise as his nickname was said, nodding his head slightly and muttering a quick "Nothing," to let them know he couldn't sense any unusual activity outside their room or building. He didn't quite like the way Gil talked about Katy having a fit, he'd prefer if it was said with kinder words, but there was nothing he could do about it. As the conversation moved on to plans, the group lost him a bit. All their technical talk didn't mean much to him, and their references to finding Gil's brother didn't seem like it'd help their current state. What they needed to do was move, or at least discuss something about it, or discuss something about fixing the government somehow- though he had no ideas of how. He'd lend a helping hand however he could once they eventually thought of something, but for now, he couldn't be of any use. "Uh... hate to ask now, but does anyone have any pain relievers or something?" At that, Elrod started. "Oh!" He said a bit louder than he meant it, and scurried to his own things he'd set down on the floor earlier. He retrieved some pain killers, picked up his nearly-empty water bottle and brought them to Kaine, who certainly did not look well. "I have these," he showed the bottle of small pills to Kaine, it was a simple generic brand that he hoped would be alright. "And this water... it's almost gone, and I- well, I drank from it, but if you need it..." He muttered, a bit embarrassed at his offerings. He awaited Kaine's response.

Kaine's attention was drawn to the sudden gasp followed by the scrambling of one raising to their feet. His eyes slowly peeked from the crevices of his fingertips as his read rested in his palms, recognizing the figure to be Elrod who held up a small, tightly-shut bottle containing what he asked. "Thanks, you're a lifesaver," he faintly chuckled between his breath, before outstretching an arm towards the container. He popped two of the pills into one palm as he reached toward the nearly-emptied bottle, "Oh don't worry, I don't sweat about stuff like that." With that, he unscrewed the cap before bringing its edge to his lips, taking a quick swig as he swallowed the medicine. Unfortunately the medicine wasn't instant, but as long as he got a fraction of relief within half an hour, he'd be grateful. "Thanks again," he offered a weak smile to the man while leaning back in the chair once more.
While a nap or some solid silence would be ideal right now, they were currently brainstorming for their current situation. "Jason, you have any thoughts on this? You just mentioned gathering info on Alicia just a moment ago as well..."

"That's the thing. How do we even know that he's in a prison? When I last saw him, he was in a coma, so you could try scanning the medical facilities. But since he was unchipped, the government's going to think that's fishy. I think he'll most likely be in a foster home. He's young enough to easily fooled in believing he still has a chip."
Gil bit his thumbnail, thinking. "I'm worried..." he said. "I could barely control my abilities when they first manifested. Astrid - oh, that's my brother's name - might not even know how to control his powers, whatever they may be. That puts all of us at risk, especially if they're powerful. Finding Alicia might lead us to some clues."

"In my opinion, it comes down to whether or not they have something of interest to the government," Drei replied bitterly. "If the people in question are seen as a nuisance or a hindrance, why would such a ruthless government bother keeping them alive? If they were people of interest however, then the idea of some sort of facility or prison is more plausible." He frowned and crossed his arms before looking away from the others he'd been watching during the previous exchange. "My parents disappeared several months ago. They went to work and never returned after years of researching the chips. Honestly I don't even know whether the government is to blame or not, but my hopes aren't high for them. But I suppose it would at least give us 2 more names to add to the search if it comes down to that. The more names we have to track, the easier it makes it for us." The way he spoke was detached. Matter-of-fact. It was a stark contrast from Gil's more impassioned personal plea for his brother. Putting the information out on the table was more important to him than the emotional baggage that accompanied it. "That's the thing. How do we even know that he's in a prison? When I last saw him, he was in a coma, so you could try scanning the medical facilities. But since he was unchipped, the government's going to think that's fishy. You just mentioned gathering info on Alicia just a moment ago as well..." Drei continued to quietly stare at the wall, his brainstorming leading him to dead end after dead end. When it came to data mining, he was at a disadvantage that he was well aware of. Elodie would've been far more useful here. He was well aware that his current position was that of a foot soldier rather than the general, and while his lack of use was certainly frustrating there was simply no point for him to be bitter about it. So instead he quietly waited for their ginger leader to throw his two cents into the brainstorming session. Surely he and the other hacker would have some ideas of value that they could build off of.

Jason nodded in response. Wow, 24 miles per hour by foot? Jason was surprised, not knowing that the blonde's powers could really do that much in such short notice. "Good point." Other means of transportation could've tracked them as Drei ran, but Katy would've also probably spoken up about it if he happened to see anyone following them. However, there was a chance that he, too, wasn't paying attention. Gil had a decent argument though, and so long as Sun didn't feel uneasy, Jason would put any worries like that to rest... for now. Jason nodded once more, taking note of Sun's response. Sun felt nothing. Good. They might be alright after all. "Ah, good. I guess we shouldn't worry about being tracked via GPS if you did that before leaving..." Jason tapped his chin and glanced around the room. The lingering thought of how much information the government might have now worried Jason. Whatever Katy had on that computer was probably confiscated if what they said was true about it being switched on upon arrival and all. If the authorities really believed anything Katy said online about chips or powers, this could be a huge issue... As far as Jason was concerned, the government had no idea how the chipless acted after removal other than rebellion... but if they obtained information that shed light on their threat... every chipless person would be tracked down and killed mercilessly, right? Or worse yet... they could start bombing random house that they think contain chipless... Clearly, they had no hard feelings about murdering innocent people. An immense wave of relief flooded through Gil. "Though it's not like they care about age..." He said bitterly. Jason frowned at Gil a bit. He hoped he wasn't suggesting some sort of rescue mission... Jason decided not to say anything for the time being, but the more and more people talked about their ideas, the more Jason grew nervous. Major was trying to help, for sure... but he knew nothing about this sibling of Gil's. What would coming to find him really solve? How would this kid help them? Did he even have any decent powers? Who's to say the kid wasn't locked up somewhere else inaccessible to them anyway? Several thoughts made him uninterested in helping Gil out over something so pointless. He didn't care if he just lost his sister. They almost lost two of their people because of one foolish mistake. He didn't want to lose the entire group to another. Not to mention, it was the first day and they were already getting off track. The itch of losing control came over Jason again and he pursed his lips at his frustrated thoughts. "That's the thing. How do we even know that he's in a prison? When I last saw him, he was in a coma, so you could try scanning the medical facilities. But since he was unchipped, the government's going to think that's fishy. I think he'll most likely be in a foster home. He's young enough to easily fooled in believing he still has a chip." Astrid - oh, that's my brother's name - might not even know how to control his powers, whatever they may be. That puts all of us at risk, especially if they're powerful. Finding Alicia might lead us to some clues." The more the discussions continued, the more Jason felt frustrated. Gil at least brought up the fact that his brother might not even be in a prison, which made Jason feel a bit better that he was thinking with a broader view. Luckily for the tall leader, Drei seemed to have the same thoughts as the redhead did. Maybe they really could bring this back around. Kaine brought him out of his own mind rambles, and the redhead lit up at the thought of being sought as an important part of decisions. "Hmm yes," Jason started, "While I think trying to obtain information would be a very good idea, leaving to go find just anyone sounds like an invitation from the Reaper, himself. It looks like not only myself, but Gil, and you Drei, have had our loved ones taken away from us. Finding the answer behind these disappearances should help our fight, I'd think..." Jason cleared his throat, turning around and walking over to the small kitchen counter. He ran his fingers over the ridges of the sink as he pondered some thoughts. "So figure this... If Charlie and I work together to dig up information about Gil's siblings and Drei's parents as well, it should give us some answers we need. Gil's chip was removed... and he was taken away. He might've been put in a foster home like I was after I'd had my chip removed, but we can always double check. Who knows, he might be in a different boat entirely. Drei's parents, on the other hand..." Jason smirked a little. "They did research on the chips... and Drei hasn't heard from them since. I'd say that's reason enough to assume the government found them either a threat... or an opportunity. Their well being and current placement are important to us because if those two figured out something the government didn't know before, it could mean more trouble on our end." Jason pushed his brittle nail against the counter top, bending the nail a little as he did. "Also, if they're working for the government now... there has to be a reason why. If they're making them work against their will, undergo torture... anything awful like that, we can use that against Alicia if we make that public. Otherwise, if we know what they all know about us then we will have the upper hand when dealing with the authorities. Do something they aren't expecting. We all have different powers so there's no way they have everything to counter us, even if they have a lead, right?" Jason bit down on his lip after he stopped talking, accidentally going off on a rant a little bit. Gah, did what he say even make sense? He probably dabbled on for too long. He continued staring at the sink before looking back to the group, turning around to face them. "Uh, bottom line.... I think it's a good idea if we look into the disappearance of Gil and Drei's family members. It can help us in the long run. Depending on where that leads us, we may consider changing locations for both safety and ease of addressing any new kind of information we find. If Alicia is unaware of our threat, I think attending one of her 'all famous' public gatherings may lead us to more information as well. Who knows, we might even get a chance to expose any secrets we find right then!" Jason grinned a little before looking back to the sink. As much as he'd love to find out what happened to his parents... they didn't fit into the equation. Finding out about them gave them no noticeable advantage against Alicia. His parents were normal people who just happened to not be brainwashed and helped their child not be brainwashed either. They were probably rotting somewhere...

So, not only were they already a rag-tag team of nobodies, but orphans too? Talk about unlucky, it was almost humorous how they managed to get bunched together. Gil's parents were confirmed deceased via execution on spot, Four-eye's folks were possibly in captivity (Or perhaps they deserted him?), and the ginger's been in a foster home. Were they all gathered to find some estranged relative to them? While it occurred to the man that while they're parents could have been of the doting rarity; it still stirred a foul connotation within his thoughts. If his teammates had all been cut of the same cloth, then he would find himself grinding his teeth the whole way. They could prattle on all they pleased about their family's tenderness but no matter how much, the result would still be the same. A sense of falsehood would invade his mind and while he could acknowledge all that a family could provide; he simply couldn't believe it to be done unconditionally. After awhile, it would just serve to irritated and vex him more than anything.
Charlie's guardians were questionable as well. They practically relinquished custody without a second thought for their child's well-being. Elrod's units, on the otherhand, were an enigma to him still. Hopefully he grew up fine in comparison to the rest of the group members. Kaine couldn't personally say so for himself, and the thought that his background would be prodded at gnawed him endlessly. "If we attend a meeting, it might be better only send a few of us in case something happens. Though for now, laying low might be a good idea just to decrease any threat we may have given off. If you guys are going to investigate family members, then I'll leave the data surfing to the experts." He slowly nodded, breaking his eyes away from the group momentarily.

Gil felt bad about bringing his family into this. Ordinarily he would keep private matters private, but the shock of figuring out his sister has been murdered threw him for a loop. And the message, too. She wouldn't tell him to find his brother if it wasn't important. Gil avoided any contact with people he knew in his past life since they could identify him. Farah knew about what happened to their parents and brother. She also knew about what happened to Gil, so it wouldn't make much sense for her to say something like this. He had to wonder... did Farah figure out what Astrid's ability was?
Gil took both hands and smacked himself on his cheeks. Mourning can be done after their job is complete. Until then, Gil would leave his emotional baggage behind. Right now, he had to do all he could for the people in this room.
"Sounds like a plan, man!" Gil said.
"Yup, yup. Makes sense." Gil said, nodding in affirmation. "But since it is an official government-mandated event, that means security and surveillance is going to be much higher than usual. If something were to happen, wouldn't having more of us there to support each other be better?"

If something were to happen, wouldn't having more of us there to support each other be better?" Jason nodded. "That what I was thinking." The redhead turned to Kaine. "I was going to volunteer myself, since I can always use my powers to diffuse any direct confrontation if that were to happen." He'd thought out this plan a bit before the meetup, so he was kind of glad that already it seemed a few of the others got his line of thought. "You're not wrong, Gil." He spoke in reply, pulling his turtle neck away from his neck a little. Jason was starting to feel a bit overheated now, since the air conditioner had been off for a while. "What I figured was... I attend the event, and someone like you, Gil, or even Kaine or Drei, would be on the sidelines in case anything went down. Charlie could hack into the surveillance systems and watch the cameras and listen to audio feeds, and Sun could stand watch in a different area to communicate to us in case anything fishy is happening on his end. I'm not sure if being in a crowded area would overwhelm him, but... I feel like he'd be good at looking out for us. The remaining two could be with Charlie, at an extended distance from the area, maybe one of them at the mid-way point." Jason explained his plan, nodding. It still sounded just as good out loud as it did in his head. "But yes, for now I wouldn't worry about that. Best to lay low, as Kaine said. It's still over a week away, so we have time to prepare anyway!" It was then that his stomach had started to grumble. Geez, was he that hungry already? Taking out his phone, he looked at the time, shocked to see it was already set in the evening. "Hmm... did anyone bring food?" Cause Jason sure as hell didn't.

A week away? Well, at least they wouldn't have to face Queen Bee's stinger for seven more days. Until then, perhaps he could relax as he would have little to do with information gathering by internet means. His field of work pertained to the real world, and technology wasn't his forte. He'd most likely be listening to their findings, if anything.
A low growl could be heard across the room, alerting Kaine as he pointed his head up to see the redhead sneaking a glance at his phone. "Food? Sorry, nothing here," he quirked an eyebrow, scanning the other team mates as he peered around the room. And by the looks of it, no one else did either. "It looks like we might have to do a bit of grocery shopping at this rate." Truthfully, the thought of going out with his headache wasn't alluring nor ideal, and he would rather rest more than anything. However, he had no idea of his partners' diets in the slightest, and imagining them returning with bags full of frozen food sent a shiver down his spine. Out of all the things he doubted in them, their eating habits he worried the least about. After all, they were separated from their guardians, so they probably picked up cooking for their own benefit. Surely they were proficient at that then? Charlie could probably use some training, but she was a child so it was a given. Still, he remembered his old days of low-income cuisines...
"There's a market nearby, yeah? If we're going to head out let's do it before it gets too dark."

We all have different powers so there's no way they have everything to counter us, even if they have a lead, right?" "They are intimately familiar with the chips and their affects on children, as that's been their focus for the past 20 or so years." He smirked and interjected dryly, "There's a reason my name is 'Three'." Tapping his chin, he tilted his head and looked up at the ceiling as if searching for his response in his brain. "Although, their knowledge on the power-granting aspect of it is limited to myself and my sister. So whether they spilled their guts to the government literally or figuratively, the most they'd even be able to talk about is our two sets of abilities as a lead." Shrugging dismissively, Drei finished this line of thought with, "Honestly, there's no point in assuming or dwelling too much on it. We'll find out sooner or later if it'll be an issue." "Yup, yup. Makes sense." Gil said, nodding in affirmation. "But since it is an official government-mandated event, that means security and surveillance is going to be much higher than usual. Initially Drei was pretty skeptical on bringing everyone to the lion's den, but the different jobs and layers of mitigation brought him peace of mind. As long as everyone was split up and manning different areas, it would be much safer than the 6 of them bunched together in one location. But they had a week of preparation. A week to figure out how their powers and abilities fit together. As nervous as he was to attend a rally like that, especially after the close call with the bugged laptop, hopefully they didn't get any read on our identities, Jason seemed to have a concrete plan in mind. "Hm. We'll have to hammer out the logistics over the next week but it seems like a sound enough starting point to me," he replied flatly, arms crossed. "Hmm... did anyone bring food?" Cause Jason sure as hell didn't. "There's a market nearby, yeah? If we're going to head out let's do it before it gets too dark." "I brought money but no extra food," Drei sighed, pulling out his wallet from his back pocket and tapping it with his fingers. He was not too thrilled about already getting up from his chair and leaving again, especially with the aches and pains still radiating down from his back. "We should write a list of essentials, and then perhaps the 4 that haven't left the apartment yet should get acquainted with the new area," he offered.

It still sounded just as good out loud as it did in his head. Finally, a decent plan! The little girl listened in on Jason's plan, getting more hyped up as the explanation went on, another idea striking her. Hacking into surveillance systems would be a fun challenge, and it would be great ammunition to be able to record the rally in case Alicia spilled incriminating information. That and the protection was a nice thought too, though it depended on who was going to be her protector. She shrugged her shoulders and slumped into her chair, taking mental notes of everything transpiring. Maybe with the info from the rally, she could find out other personal info about Alicia. But that would be a week from now; her main priority would not be getting into too much trouble at this rate. "There's a market nearby, yeah? If we're going to head out let's do it before it gets too dark." Market? Charlie was getting pretty hungry. and with no one to monitor her diet.... She could have all the junk food in the world, and no one could stop her. Well, except if the rest of the group was a bunch of killjoys. Kaine and Sun clearly didn't have taste in food. Hopefully, they wouldn't impede on her sweet tooth. She pulled up her laptop and opened up notepad, making a list of all the things she wanted. She invited the rest of the group to look and suggest other foods to put on the list. (She put down crap like pop tarts and pizza rolls). Verbally.
