"Thanks, you're a lifesaver," he faintly chuckled between his breath, before outstretching an arm towards the container. He popped two of the pills into one palm as he reached toward the nearly-emptied bottle, "Oh don't worry, I don't sweat about stuff like that." With that, he unscrewed the cap before bringing its edge to his lips, taking a quick swig as he swallowed the medicine. Unfortunately the medicine wasn't instant, but as long as he got a fraction of relief within half an hour, he'd be grateful. "Thanks again," he offered a weak smile to the man while leaning back in the chair once more. Elrod was very glad to be able to help Kaine, and thankful that what he had to offer had been alright. Feeling useful for once was very relieving, and he hoped to be able to continue to help the group. However, the shaking and sobbing coming from the other room still gnawed at his conscience, and brought his mood right back down after he left Kaine's side. "What I figured was... I attend the event, and someone like you, Gil, or even Kaine or Drei, would be on the sidelines in case anything went down. Charlie could hack into the surveillance systems and watch the cameras and listen to audio feeds, and Sun could stand watch in a different area to communicate to us in case anything fishy is happening on his end. I'm not sure if being in a crowded area would overwhelm him, but... I feel like he'd be good at looking out for us. The remaining two could be with Charlie, at an extended distance from the area, maybe one of them at the mid-way point." Jason explained his plan, nodding. It still sounded just as good out loud as it did in his head. "But yes, for now I wouldn't worry about that. Best to lay low, as Kaine said. It's still over a week away, so we have time to prepare anyway!" It was then that his stomach had started to grumble. Geez, was he that hungry already? Taking out his phone, he looked at the time, shocked to see it was already set in the evening. "Hmm... did anyone bring food?" Elrod was a bit startled to hear his screenname once again, feeling a bit embarrassed at its constant use. He quickly looked away from any person in the group and stared at the wall as he listened to the rest of Jason's plan. He felt a bit bad about having to be accounted for his powers making general things difficult, but was glad Jason thought of it. He wouldn't be forced to be in the middle of it all, and that was good. He thanked Jason in the back of his mind for his kindness. The uncomfortable movement coming from Jason soon made itself known audibly, letting everyone know just how hungry the man was. Elrod had to admit he was feeling a little hungry now, but there was no way he could just take out his health bar and start to eat it in front of everyone- he'd just eat it later after everyone got something. That would mean Elrod would have to go with them. That was alright, he could pick out just the kind of food he liked in that case. He went shopping plenty of times, and though there was a lot of movement in a store such as that, it was easy to block out as long as nothing made him too upset on the journey. Elrod stepped over a bit to see what Charlie typed out. There were many unhealthy things, the thoughts of wish made him grimace. He slid a bit closer to Charlie and muttered a few quick things to her. "Um, please put down any fruits and veggies... I like them all, so anything someone else wants is okay," he said, going back into his mind to think of something else he could mention. "W-water bottles, and uh, granola bars. Should be good," Since he assumed he was going to the store himself he didn't specify what kind of granola bars- he was sure the others were thinking of the kinds packed with sugar and chocolate- and simply had her mark it down so he wouldn't forget to get some himself. He went silent again and stepped back from Charlie after he was finished, and waited for the others to make their suggestions.

It still sounded just as good out loud as it did in his head. Gil couldn't come up with anything better, so he readily accepted Jason's plan. It was a good one that covered most points while still maintaining some form of discretion. If it went well, they'd hopefully be able to get really useful information from non other than Alicia herself. And right on cue, Gil's stomach began growling as well. "Hehe... now that you mention it..." he said, holding a hand to his stomach. The hotdog he had earlier was definitely not nearly enough to fill him up. Fortunately he could go a while without experiencing the crippling effect of hunger, as one of his lesser abilities allowed him to store excess energy for later use. Whew... thankfully my powers aren't as useless as they seem on paper. "There's a market nearby, yeah? If we're going to head out let's do it before it gets too dark." "Yeah!" Gil agreed. He had traveled light like he always did when relocating to a new area. He would've had to go to the store to invest in a new wardrobe to match the setting of New York in case he needed to do some impromptu acting anyway. "We should write a list of essentials, and then perhaps the 4 that haven't left the apartment yet should get acquainted with the new area," he offered. She pulled up her laptop and opened up notepad, making a list of all the things she wanted. She invited the rest of the group to look and suggest other foods to put on the list. Gil watched as Elrod sidled up to Charlie, muttering a few things in her ear. He had to wonder what kind of food Sun ate. While the rest of them purchased hotdogs, Elrod hadn't. It'd been a couple hours since then, as well. He was surprised to find that Elrod was still alive at this point. He really is strong, Gil thought, chuckling to himself. "You guys go ahead. I prefer buying whatever I think looks good as I see them! When do we leave?"

Kaine sauntered over and hovered above the girl as he watched Major's hands scurry across the keyboard. She was a more efficient typist than him, he had to admit. However, he raised an eyebrow as his eyes scanned the ensemble of unhealthy and potentially noxious food that the girl so eagerly marked as essential. It could be considered rather typical cravings and favorites for someone her age, but at the same time it could have been an indication of her parents' grip on her. While he doubted it was the case; it was reminiscent of how he yearned for such indulgences when he was younger. His own guardians had vehemently rejected the holding of sugary delights and desserts within their own home. Occasionally had he been treated to such delicacies, but the latter was more prevalent. His diet was of a limited palette for a time, and thus when the opportunity shone he often found his younger self spoiling his next meal.
If anything, Major's parents seemed less "attentive" than his own, being they dumped her with a random lot of strangers. Thus, the previous matter appeared unlikely in her situation. Still, while he wasn't going to police her eating habits- as soon enough she would surely fall ill anyways- he would try to introduce her to other foods. Maybe, anyways. He wasn't about to babysit for a pair of empty-headed ne'er-do-wells after all. Though if Major refused to learn and kept suffering from persistent stomach pains; it could affect their work.
"Likewise," Kaine stated, heading towards the door. "I say within the next minute or so," as he spoke, his ears were brought back to the hushed sobbing echoing in the bathroom. "And uh, if Katy's coming along, we should get him. Though that's up to you," his eyes focused on Jason.

"Hmm I see.. Good to know. But you're right. We'll cross that bridge when we get there." Jason smiled a little at Drei, amused at what he'd said about his name. He hadn't seen it spelled out before, but it'd almost made a little more sense why it was his parents named him "Drei" anyhow. "But yes, for now let's focus on more important things... at least for our general well-being's sake..." Food was important, after all.
They really should go get some food, shouldn't they? It was getting late, and Jason felt even less safe traveling in the evening, even if the entire group moved together. Darkness unsettled him. Considering Kaine's suggestion, it was only fair. "You two do still look exhausted... in pain, even... It's probably better if you two really did stay behind while the rest of us go get something." Jason said in agreement, walking to Charlie's side to see the list she started. Seemed decent enough. The redhead wasn't a health nut, nor did he care a lot about how much fat a food item had. He was pretty indifferent about most eatable things. That being said, though... The younger one had put quite a few junk-food items on there. "Hm..." Luckily by the looks of it, Elrod had been the one to suggest jotting down some better items, even to go so far as to add vegetables to the list. Jason found a small smile tugging at the side of his lips. Sun... a healthy eater... It really did suit him, after all.
"I like eggs and spaghetti... Hmmm... picking up sandwich stuff might be a good idea too." He said, watching Charlie's little nimble fingers type away. Once it seemed most everyone got a word in, Jason leaned back and patted Charlie's head once more. He listened to the others speak about leaving soon and opened his mouth to agree, before he was reminded about Katy's existence. Oh right. He kind of tuned out Katy's sobbing... "...I'll talk to him." Jason said, offering a smile even though he was forcing it to hide his irritation. Walking past the group, he came to the bathroom door, knocking his pale fist against it. The knock echoed slightly, and the whimpering from inside suddenly halted.
"...." There was no sound for a moment. After a second or two, you could hear the sound of a deep inhale, followed by a shakey exhale. "C-come in..." The brunette's weak vocal cords echoed in the roofless environment.
Jason opened the door, walking inside the bathroom, eyes on Katy who was sitting on the floor between the toilet and the bathtub, knees up to his chest. The brunette's eyes were red, lashes wet and nose dripping. He looked a hot mess. And not an attractive kind of hot. "Listen... we're all going to go get some food. You can either stay here, or come with us... but either way, is there anything you want from the store?" Jason was struggling to not come off sounding cold. He didn't want him to cry again. Lowering himself down on one knee, Jason's eyes met with Katy's and he smiled slightly. "Hey, cheer up, okay? You're alive, and so are all of us in this room right now. You don't need to keep crying. Instead, come out here and get to know everyone so you can feel more comfortable and at home." Jason offered him a hand, the redhead's fingers twitching slightly.
Katy was quiet the entire time, eyes staring at his own knees. The only sound coming from him was of his snotty nose breathing. As he listened, he used his sleeve to wipe the clear liquid that had poured from his nostrils off his face, scratching a little at the corner of his eyelid. He wasn't really sure he felt like leaving the apartment right now... He'd done so much coming and going, and every trip ended in him being miserable, it seemed. The brunette really wanted to just stay put for a little while. Though... food didn't sound bad. When Jason had lowered to his level, the shaking one's eyes looked up to connect with the Leader's. Sniffling a little, Katy nodded silently. Maybe he was right... But maybe everyone still hated him anyway. Taking Jason's hand, the two of them rose to their feet and left the bathroom.
"I-I like tomato soup... and grilled cheese.... I-I have some pots and pans in the cupboards under the sink..." Katy's voice spoke up to the group. His eyes remained looking downwards, too scared of what their expression may be. He hated how awful he felt...
"Alright. We can pick some up. Major, can you add that to the list?" Jason smiled in the little one's direction. Jason pat Katy's shoulder a little. "So, are you coming with us or...?"
Katy shook his head, hands out stretching to the bottom of his own shirt, rolling it up an inch with his fingers before rolling it back down. "I think I want to lay down..." Katy said, eyes looking to the open hallway up to the left next to the couch in the room. Laying down sounded nice... Shut away everything and just relax for a while...
"Okie dokie artichokey." Jason rang, removing his hand from the brunette and turning to the group. "Well, with that settled. Shall we go? For anyone staying here, is there anything you want us to pick up or are you fine with Charlie's list?" Jason addressed the group, still not entirely sure who was staying here and who wasn't. At the very least, he hoped Drei and Kaine would stay, simply because of their state. They needed to rest for sure. It was kind of scary how much their powers seemed to leave them all frazzled... The tall man was kind of glad his powers didn't effect his physical body too much...
It was then that Katy slowly started to slump into the other room, collapsing on the bed in there before pulling down the covers, getting snuggled up in the warmth they provided. His body both shook with anxiety and chillness. After all, he didn't have a lot of meat on his bones. Looking up at the ceiling, he didn't fall asleep but simply started blankly at the white above him, listening to the other chat. Man, he wished he had friends.

Thankfully, at least Katy didn't leave the place completely barren. Kaine wouldn't have to fret over pondering whether or not to purchase any spare pans or cutlery, nor would he worry about an excess drain on his wallet either. "I think everyone's coming along. Let's get moving," he nodded, opening the door as to let the others pass through first. *** The outlet had lost all of its busy bustle and cramped isles as it would appear the leftovers were merely those who were carrying last-minute items for the next night's dinner. While they technically were apart of that category as well; they were also here for tonight's meal. The store's luminescent lighting flickered every few panels and a sheet of light reflected on the recently mopped tiles. One would immediately assaulted by the rather abrupt and vigorous breeze from that air conditioner as it whirred above the heads of the shoppers making their first step in. For Kaine, it felt a little nice as he was admittedly uncomfortably warm after his headache got the best of it. However, it was an annoyance as well, being that it always tossed his hair in his face. A sigh emitted from him as his arms reached to pull his locks back, before sauntering over to the assortment of carts to grab one of the hand baskets. He slung it over his forearm, stopping in his tracks as to ponder for a moment. He hadn't thought about what to cook tonight, and wasn't sure what everyone tastes were exactly. "Hey, any suggestions for dinner?" he quirked an eyebrow, "If not, then just let me know if you have any allergies." He chuckled under his breath, his head swaying to the side as he took a gander at the selection across from him.

Upon entering the grocery store, Jason too grabbed a basket, looking over the set up of the building. Every grocery store was different... it felt a bit foreign walking into one he'd never been inside before. Jason had never lived in New York before. In fact, this whole meetup was his first time being to the area at all. He'd never even heard of this grocery store chain before, too. "Hm?" Jason raised an eyebrow at Kaine. Was he going to cook? The redhead was willing to bet that with Kaine's attitude, he would be one of the last to cook... however his appearance made him feel so motherly... maybe he was the kind of person to cook a banquet if people desired him to. Better him than Jason, anyway. "I don't have any food allergies, but something kind of light for dinner would be nice... Maybe a nice salad and we could grab a french bread loaf?" Jason then tapped his chin, mind on the bread. "Or if people aren't into that, we could still stick with the bread and instead make spaghetti and meatballs..." That sounded rather good too.

Grilled Cheese, Tomato Soup, Water, Healthy stuff... Charlie typed out all of these items on her notepad document, not paying any mind to the judging eyes of her partners due to her tastes in junk food. As a final addition to the list, she put down "soda". Unlike the majority of her chosen items, this actually served a purpose for late night activity. Later, she emailed the list to her phone as a means to access it later and set off. XXX The cool air from the inside of the establishment did nothing but worsen the already frigid temperature from the outside. Even with having a fairly thick turtleneck, she still shivered somewhat profusely. Maybe this would also be a good time to pick up a coat? Whatever. Her main goal was getting to the treasure troves of junk food, no matter what cast was in her way. Maybe a nice salad and we could grab a french bread loaf?" Jason then tapped his chin, mind on the bread. "Or if people aren't into that, we could still stick with the bread and instead make spaghetti and meatballs..." That sounded rather good too. On second thought, spaghetti sounded awesome. Pair that with the bread Jason mentioned and copious amounts of soda and it would be a match made in the sweet golden gates of heaven. Anxiously wanting to try out the combo, she pulled on Jason's turtleneck sleeve and gestured to the aisles impatiently.

As Gil entered the establishment, he was once again hit in the face with a blast of chilled air. Jeez, what's with New York and their stupid air conditioning. Gil shivered a little, pulling his head and arms into his shirt to regain some warmth. Truthfully, it didn't bother him too much, but it made the metal on his arm very cool to the touch. Extreme temperatures could impair the functions of his arm, so he had to make sure it didn't reach those extremes.
"Ohhh!" Gil exclaimed from under his shirt before popping his head back out, "You're gonna cook for us, eh, Prince? Awesome!" Gil envied Kaine's skill set. He could do a lot of things, but cooking was not one of them. He never had the chance to try cooking before. When he was younger, he obviously wan't allowed to, and then when he was of proper age to learn, his cancer prohibited him from doing so. It sucked, really. "Hey, maybe you can teach me how to cook when we get back." he said, walking over to Kaine and nudging him with him elbow. "I'm a fast learner, I promise."
"Spaghetti sounds great! Haven't had a home cooked meal in ages. I can go with Kaine to pick out some ingredients. Looks like Major wants to go with you." Gil said, chuckling at how eager Charlie seemed.

The hustle and bustle of a market was always grating on Elrod's heightened senses- the cooler temperature did not help. While all the footsteps, rummaging, and speaking could all affect him, he could also train himself to only focus on his own footsteps and breathing. Of course, this did not stop him from feeling nearly everything else in the store, but it certainly helped him from becoming overwhelmed, just as in any social situation he found himself in. He breathed at an even pace and made sure it stayed as such, and listened as his present company discussed dinner with each other. Elrod brightened up a bit at the mention of salad, but everyone else seemed to want the spaghetti. In the end he supposed it was no matter, as he could eat a small salad for himself if he picked one up. He wondered if he should head straight to the right aisles, as he'd been to this store before- living in New York got on his nerves, but it was all he knew- or if he should follow the others until they neared where he could slip out and back for what he wanted. He followed close by Kaine, as he seemed to be sensible enough with what he chose to buy. Besides that, he had taken a bit more of a liking to him than Jason. He seemed like a better person all-around, comforting others when they were down, catching him- dear god, that was embarrassing, why did he have to go and do that? He made sure to watch where he was going once again- where Jason had openly insulted Katie. He was also so sure that Jason hated him, he seemed so angry with him earlier at the park. Compared with Kaine, Jason had lower points and seemed more likely to get angry with him and hate him even more if he did something wrong. Sure, Jason was comforting when he could be, as was that- Elrod chose to pointedly ignore the thoughts of the cuddle session that came to mind- Either way, it felt less emotionally challenging to follow behind Kaine. It definitely wasn't because it was embarrassing to look Jason's way. He then attempted to crush his memory of that moment.

Charlie was growing more and more impatient by the minute. Either they'd get the food and get back to the apartment, or they'd wait around like idiots for what seemed like forever. Charlie ran through the ingredients for spaghetti in her mind: noodles...spaghetti sauce.... spices??
Ah, who cares. Someone could help her out later. Now was the time to actually start getting this shopping trip started. She gave one final tug on Jason's sleeve before taking off to the spaghetti aisle, the plan being that someone would get worried that they'd leave a kid by themselves and go with her.

Kaine resisted the urge to rest the palm of his hand against his face. In ages, you say? How were they even considered adults? Alas, he forced a smile in response, but as his eyes wandered downward- Major had already began wandering off on her own. He raised an eyebrow at her impatience, but followed along nonetheless. She was headed in the right direction anyways, and it was better to have her excited over something less-sugary than she probably had in mind upon entering the store. Still, as he dredged behind the small figure; he barely knew what to say to her. Children weren't as easy to talk to as his contemporaries, even though theoretically he always thought they would be. Strangely enough, he found himself to be rather... awkward, around them.
As Charlie peered over the shelves, Kaine snagged a few packets above her head as he glanced back down at her. He took a few steps forward as to walk ahead but by a few inches, "So, Charlie..." Guh, what do kids even do? "What's your... favorite video game...?" He quirked a brow at the child. Truthfully, such a topic was ill-picked for himself, being that he barely had the time to play games when he was young. As he grew older, he somewhat forgot they were a way to pass time except for all the commercials and advertisements that reminded him. He just never invested in a console personally, and had extremely little knowledge on how most even operated.

Jason was happy that the other thought his suggestion was a good choice! Yet once more, he was proud of having the winning opinion, despite there not being a contest at all. Thumbing over the bottom of his shirt, he payed no mind at all to Charlie, kind of spacing out a little. Despite his stomach, that was set on finding some sort of substance by now, his mind was more so focused on the situation and spiral of decisions that had transpired earlier. They had a lot to do... and while Jason wasn't incredibly worried about the outcome... a few factors caused him to fret internally. He trusted Katie. Honestly, he did. But he was utterly disappointed in their performance as of late. If what Katie said was true, which he hoped it was, then at least he helped the three from dying due to some sort of bomb. Otherwise, he didn't see him being all that much help. Honestly, Katie merely providing them a base at the start was the redhead's desire. Katie didn't seem useful otherwise, nor confident. But alas, Jason didn't make all the rules. He had to play according to what the world threw at them. Bringing himself back to the real world, he'd felt Charlie's final tug before she descended down an aisle without a word. Oh! He should follow her, yeah? However, his eyes caught Kaine doing so instead. Hmm... The tall redhead and Gil hadn't had much one on one time so far... maybe this was their chance to bond or something... "I guess they have dinner covered for tonight. Wanna help pick out a dessert or a side...?" Jason suggested, despite the bread being a good use for a side. The slouchy body of Elrod also passed, heading in Kaine's direction. Jason blinked, tempted to call him along too... Buuuut, they already spent a little time together already. Boss' can't show any favoritism after all~

She gave one final tug on Jason's sleeve before taking off to the spaghetti aisle, the plan being that someone would get worried that they'd leave a kid by themselves and go with her. Charlie had just run off into the isle where the spaghetti noodles were advertised to be. "Charlie! Hey! Don't-", Gil called out, ready to take off after her. Fortunately, Kaine went with her. Elrod had gone off a bit earlier, which just left him and Jason. The tall redhead and Gil hadn't had much one on one time so far... maybe this was their chance to bond or something... "I guess they have dinner covered for tonight. Wanna help pick out a dessert or a side...?" Jason suggested, despite the bread being a good use for a side. "Yeah! Good idea, Jay. I'm thinking cheesecake! Everyone loves cheesecake, right? Or maybe we could try getting ingredients and baking something ourselves?" Gil said, smiling at Jason.

Jason enthused, even though he actually wasn't a huge fan of cheesecake. But it was a common liked thing, so he wasn't going to shoot it down just because he personally didn't enjoy it. At the thought of making something themselves, the redhead let out a laugh, letting slip a curse. "Ah fuck, I'm not what you'd call the best cook... and absolutely not a baker..." Jason reached a hand up to his left ear, fiddling with his piercing a bit. "But if you're up for the challenge, I think it might be amusing, even if it is a disaster, to try and bake something, the two of us." Might be fun... Or if it wasn't, Jason could at least say that he tried it once.

"Oh, I love challenges." Gil said. "And don't worry, bro. It'll be a... learning experience for both of us! Now we just have to figure out what to bake..."
Looking around the store, Gil eyed the various advertisements scattered throughout the market. Cake seems too complicated for him, the serving size of macarons were too small, and pudding? Pudding is gross! Finally his eyes landed on the grocery cart of a passerby. Of course! Why didn't he think of this first?
He grabbed Jason's hand and led him a few isles past the spaghetti isle where Kaine and Charlie was. "C'mon, Jay. We're gonna bake some cookies!"
