"Oh, I love challenges." Gil said. "And don't worry, bro. It'll be a... learning experience for both of us! Now we just have to figure out what to bake..." Looking around the store, Gil eyed the various advertisements scattered throughout the market. Cake seems too complicated for him, the serving size of macarons were too small, and pudding? Pudding is gross! Finally his eyes landed on the grocery cart of a passerby. Of course! Why didn't he think of this first? He grabbed Jason's hand and led him a few isles past the spaghetti isle where Kaine and Charlie was. "C'mon, Jay. We're gonna bake some cookies!" "I guess so," Jason shrugged a little. If Gil had anything in mind, he'd give it a shot at the very least. Jason did wonder just how sensitive the blonde one's arm was, though. Could he run water under it if it got dirty? Or would he had to wear sleeves and gloves? Jason honestly knew little about the world's technological advancement in prosthetics, having not been surrounded by much of it in his upbringing. Perhaps he'd be learning not just one thing today, but two. Looking around the store with Gil, Jason had little to no ideas and nothing was really screaming out at him. However, apparently something did to Gil. A hand was thrusted upon his own and he was being walked to another aisle without as much of a delay. Jason was immediately flustered, forgetting Gil's outgoing nature for both physical touch and... everything, really. Being led to another didn't necessarily make him uncomfortable but took him off guard. "O-oh!" The man stammered, trying to hide any indication that he was taken off guard. He straightened his posture and tried to get back on his casual grin. Alas, he wasn't the smoothest of the bunch. "Cookies, huh?" Yeah! That sounded good! "What kind?" His grin got a bit bigger, all the possibilities running through his mind. Peanut butter... M&M's.... Regular 'ol Choco Chip... or they even had cheesecake cookies, right? Man, all of those sounded splendid right now.

That way, the others will be able to have a lot to choose from. I know Sun probably likes oatmeal. He's that kind of guy... Charlie seems like she would like anything sweet. I love chocolate. The rest are a mystery." Letting go of Jason's hand once they got to the isle, Gil began eyeing the ingredients with his hand on his chin. Since they were baking cookies themselves, Gil had to make sure they got each individual ingredient. The first thing he grab was a bag of chocolate chips. What else do you need for cookies? Flour? Gil picked up a bag of flour and put it in the cart as well. "What about you, Jay? Do you like cookies?"

Gil picked up a bag of flour and put it in the cart as well. "What about you, Jay? Do you like cookies?" He nodded in response. That only made sense! It'd be sad if they left anyone out by only making one kind of cookie... Hopefully Katie wouldn't mind the different ones they were making. But even if he did hate them all, Jason certainly wouldn't be the one to drop everything to please that man. With as emotional and crazy as Katie was, Jason was shocked he wasn't a woman. Once his hand was set free, Jason let it drop to his side and closely followed after the energetic blonde. "I guess we'll have to choose a variety and hope for the best." He commented, watching as Gil grabbed a bag. Shoot... Jason should've grabbed a basket, huh? "Uhh... I've never made cookies so I honestly have no idea..." Jason mumbled, flipping out his phone to look up a recipe. When he did though, he was swarmed with thousands of recipes. "Uhh..." He looked dumbfounded at his mobile device. "W-what kind of cookies are we making again...? Like... sweet and crunchy.... Soft and cakey... Melt-In-Your-Mouth.... Buttery...? Cookies could be buttery...?" Jason squinted at his phone before shaking his head and frowning. "Uh, by the looks of... some of these, I guess we need flour and vanilla extract and baking soda." Baking was certainly not this man's forte. For some reason, Jason hadn't noticed the nickname earlier. But hearing it once again made a small smile tug at the edge of his lips. Gil hadn't known his name all that long, and he already had a nickname. It was kind of wonderful... "Yeah. I don't have them too often, but I think they're pretty good. My favorite are the ones that are a little raw in the middle but crispy on the outside.... Do you like those? Oh! And chocolate chips and pecans! Those are great!~" Jason rattled off, drooling a little at the thought of his favorite cookies. Despite it being the topic at hand, he didn't start getting all that into this dessert until he really thought about it...

Kaine resisted the urge to rest the palm of his hand against his face. In ages, you say? How were they even considered adults? Alas, he forced a smile in response, but as his eyes wandered downward- Major had already began wandering off on her own. He raised an eyebrow at her impatience, but followed along nonetheless. She was headed in the right direction anyways, and it was better to have her excited over something less-sugary than she probably had in mind upon entering the store. Still, as he dredged behind the small figure; he barely knew what to say to her. Children weren't as easy to talk to as his contemporaries, even though theoretically he always thought they would be. Strangely enough, he found himself to be rather... awkward, around them. As Charlie peered over the shelves, Kaine snagged a few packets above her head as he glanced back down at her. He took a few steps forward as to walk ahead but by a few inches, "So, Charlie..." Guh, what do kids even do? "What's your... favorite video game...?" He quirked a brow at the child. Truthfully, such a topic was ill-picked for himself, being that he barely had the time to play games when he was young. As he grew older, he somewhat forgot they were a way to pass time except for all the commercials and advertisements that reminded him. He just never invested in a console personally, and had extremely little knowledge on how most even operated. In accordance with her plan, she shot small glances to the other members of their operation, delighted that someone got the hint and decided to follow. She squinted a bit to realize who it was; Charlie frowning in response to it being Kaine. If he was tailing her, and had no affiliation with her, things would be a million times worse. Oh well. She took in multiple boxes of spaghetti noodles in her arm before seeing Kaine catch up to her. She was about to get more boxes when she heard Kaine's pitiful attempt at ice breaking. Was he stalling for time? The point was to get the noodles and get back, and a conversation about her interests was completely unnecessary for that to happen. Though maybe she could humor him? "...I like space shooters..." She muttered before getting up on her toes to reach the spaghetti sauce. She managed to get two jars before placing them in Kaine's basket.

Space shooters? What did that even mean? Shooter obviously had to be the type, but did it mean it just took place in... space? Or was it some niche term that only people in the community knew? Grah, whatever it was, he just had to nod and play along. "Uh, yeah..." his voice didn't sound convincing, however. Charlie didn't seem particularly engaged in his shallow attempt at conversation either. Children were truly a hit or miss. There had to be something to grab her attention. Scanning over the ingredients in his basket, he raised an eyebrow upon realizing a possible course of action.
"Let's stop by the bakery section, you can choose a bread for us," he nodded. Kids liked having an option, yeah? Though admittedly he wasn't positive that would serve to break the wall between them either. Still... appealing to the stomach wasn't a bad idea. Perhaps there was something she would find appetizing and want, and thus he could turn the tide in his favor. He sauntered over to the display, glancing behind him to make sure she hadn't wandered off as the scent wafted in from the kitchen.

Gil quirked an eyebrow at the word 'buttery'. "...cookies could be buttery?" he asked, at the exact same Jason asked the same question. Gil chuckled lightly at the coincidence.
Gil moved further down the isle, looking for vanilla extract and baking soda. He picked up a box of Quaker Oats Oatmeal, hoping it would be good for the oatmeal cookies they were going to make for Elrod.
"Who are you asking?" Gil joked, "I loveeeeeeee those! And dude, the chocolate chips and pecan ones are delicious! I never knew you had such good taste, Jay! I wonder if we have anything else in common..."
Gil glanced down at the cart he randomly grabbed. They had most of the ingredients... they just needed... "Ah! We need butter and eggs! I wonder how Major and Prince are doing on their end."

Jason blinked at Gil's joke, it going over his head at first before Gil continued on. Every time the blonde spoke, Jason either felt bewildered by his actions and personality, or prideful from all the compliments the man threw his way. "Haha, maybe... I don't believe we ever did a lot of personal one-on-one chats online... Then again, you always seemed the secretive type..." Jason smirked, looking to the cart which they'd now filled with ingredients. "Say, didn't you say you had another hair color before? Did you bleach it recently?" Jason inquired, curious. Though, not curious enough to use his powers. Gil was probably one of the least suspicious ones of the bunch, even though he seemed to be the most excited about working with everyone despite the dire consequences if anything went wrong. "Geez, we need a lot for just cookies... maybe it'd be easier to just go to a bakery.." Jason laughed a little, slowly no longer looking forward to their baking adventure. If it weren't so late into the evening, Jason really would have gone and bought some cookies himself... "Hmm, we could swing by that one aisle on our way to the Dairy section, couldn't we? Assuming they're all still there..."

If he stepped foot in an arcade for 5 seconds, he'd know what a space shooter was. Oh well. It was obvious Kaine didn't know what he was doing, other than essentially her pack mule. Charlie nodded her head in response to going to the bakery, tailing Kaine. She had to admit, the scents of freshly cooked bread were tempting, as well as the thought of indulging in all the cookies and cakes she could imagine. It was only a few minutes later when she finally managed to catch up to Kaine, and only a few minutes until she could see the greatest thing in her life. Every single delectable confection she could think of lay squarely in her vision, overwhelming her as she thought of what the hell to pick. ...He said bread, right? her eyes drifted to the bread section, with the cinnamon bread catching her attention. Who cares if it wouldn't go all that well with spaghetti? She obviously didn't, since she immediately tapped Kaines arm to direct him to the cinnamon treat.

Jason smirked, looking to the cart which they'd now filled with ingredients. Gil simply smiled at the response. It's not that we was the secretive type, but rather he just would prefer if some things remained untold. Things like his terminal illness and his depression leading up to the surgery. It wasn't important anyway, right? And after that, he only acted certain parts to stay off of the governments radar. If he got caught and they performed a DNA test and/or fingerprinted him, he would be found out. Then they would ask questions. Questions are dangerous. He subtly flexed his metallic fingers, and then his regular fingers. Maybe I should've asked him to take care of my other arm too..."Say, didn't you say you had another hair color before? Did you bleach it recently?" Jason inquired, curious. "Hm? Oh, yeah! I was a brunette when I find introduced myself online to you guys. From there, I altered between a ton of different hair colors. Different hairstyles, too." He lightly tugged on a lock of his hair. "Blonde's my original color, though. Can't say I missed it." He chuckled. "Geez, we need a lot for just cookies... maybe it'd be easier to just go to a bakery.." Jason laughed a little, slowly no longer looking forward to their baking adventure. There was no guarantee that the cookies would have turned out to be edible anyway!" The more he thought about it, the better it sounded. That way, they wouldn't be able to fuck up the cookies they wanted to eat, AND they'd still be able to get delicious cookies for everyone. "I think they're having a sale on cookies today. The lady that passed us earlier had a bunch of them!"

Smiling a bit, Jason walked over to the cart and grabbed a few items, putting them back onto the shelves since they wouldn't be needing them now. "Well I think your hair color is beautiful. I don't see a lot of chipper blondes these days!" Whether or not that was a stab at Drei or not was a mystery, but Jason really did like the other man's hair. It was bright and colorful, full of personality, much like the person who rocked it. "Anyway, let's head to the bakery section then." With a load of food responsibility off of his back, the redhead felt lighter and even more delighted to get an assortment of snacks. Speaking of snacks... on the way over, Jason spotted a familiar short girl who was eyeing the snack breads. Drei hadn't been too keen on following everyone to the store after the previous day's events, wordlessly peeling off on his own before everyone else could pair off. It wasn't worth the inevitable disappointment or frustration, waiting for everyone else to pair off and leave him, or being stuck with someone disagreeable like Casanova for yet another task. It was better to nip that sort of negative anticipation in the bud before it became a mental taxation of any sort. Besides, he only needed to worry about himself. He preferred it that way. Probably. Most of them were independent adults after all, right?
Pushing his glasses up further on the bridge of his nose, he glanced around the aisle he'd wandered off into and collected his bearings, doing a quick sweep of the signs hanging above the aisles and grabbing a basket of his own. Quickly he filled it with dense, high calorie foods. Protein bars, protein shakes, nuts, and a selection of meat jerkies were his first stop, before freezing once he reached the produce aisle. He wasn't exactly someone who could cook, and although the others might have a chef or two among them, he wasn't about to rely on someone else to feed him. Shaking off the intimidation at the vast array of vegetables and fruits, he picked out some of his favorites that could be eaten raw before moving towards the frozen aisle, loading the rest of the empty space in his basket with easily microwaved or baked pre-prepared meals. ...Good enough. He could always run to the store by himself another time if he ran out.
The blonde gave a cursory glance around, not seeing any of the others in his vicinity. He wasn't sure whether he was disappointed or relieved, but with that freedom to move around without answering to the others, he made his way towards the registers, standing on line for the self check-out and fumbling for his wallet with his free hand.

As his eyes followed Charlie's movements intently, he was focus was soon broken from the girl as a familiar voice called from behind. The ginger and cyborg had caught up to them, and while usually he preferred a company consisting only of himself he had admittedly been a bit thankful the two had shown their faces. The main reason being that the silence between him and Charlie was overwhelming, and that neither one of them were enjoying the other's presence it would appear. The air only thickened with tension the longer they were alone, if anything. "Yeah, I'm going to get the bread and ring the rest up," his attention was brought away by a slight tap on his arm, his eyes wandering to see the toddler eagerly gazing through the glass at the cinnamon bread.
Normally, Kaine would outright reject such a notion as to pair their dinner with such, but this was Charlie- the one he had just been desperately trying to stir a bit a reaction from. Perhaps he'd buy a baguette for their planned dinner, and a small side of cinnamon bread for Charlie after. He wasn't exactly keen on giving in, but the small gesture could win some points in his favor, and he did say for her to pick. If anything, pulling back now would result in a rise of temper; it was only fair to keep his word. He nodded at the girl, before bringing himself to the counter to make an order. After sliding the cash to the employee, Kaine rested the main order into his cart, and gestured to Charlie to take the smaller bag.
"I'm going to finish paying for the rest of this, I'll see you guys at the exit once your done," he motioned to the direction he was headed in, before ultimately taking off to proceed through checkout. A yawn escaped him, clearly a bit worn from the day's events as a whole. After bagging his items he slowly strolled to the exit, making sure to avoid a certain four-eyed individual who had just finished his purchases moments before him.

After bagging his items he slowly strolled to the exit, making sure to avoid a certain four-eyed individual who had just finished his purchases moments before him. Jason simply nodded in return, looking at the younger one among them once more. She got what she wanted, and so did he. Snacky bread and dinner bread. Hopefully that would suffice for the meal. Meaningless thoughts aside, Jason looked to the blonde robotic one and pointed across the bakery, a display of fresh boxed cookies set out. There were ribbons decorating the side of the table as if to say "See? We're fancy! Now buy something". Jason normally wouldn't give in to such silly things, nor buy a lot of sweets in general, but it was him and Gil's plan to choose an array of snacks for the lot of them to enjoy. Picking up some oatmeal raisin, sugar, chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies, the redhead balanced the plastic boxes on top of one another, waiting for the blonde to return with the cart so they could finish up their purchase. Now it looked like most everyone from their group was gone, so it probably meant they were ready to check out and leave. "We all ready?" Jason asked Gil.

"Well I think your hair color is beautiful. I don't see a lot of chipper blondes these days!" "Thanks, Jay!" Gil exclaimed. "I think your hair color suits you, too!" Red was commonly associated with passion. Jason did seem to care about the others as well as his position amongst the rest of the Chipless. He was the one who brought them all together, too. If he hadn't had the guts to do what he did, then there'd be no telling what the government could have gotten away with. "Anyway, let's head to the bakery section then." Gil nodded, putting the rest of the ingredients back and picking up a few items from an adjacent isle for himself. He glanced down at the clothes he was wearing. He liked to travel light, but a master of disguise has a constantly changing visage. Looking at the time, he figured that his wardrobe should be in New York by now. He'd arranged for it to be delivered by drone to a safe location, now he just had to find a way to retrieve it before their mission began. It hadn't taken long, as Gil caught up with Jason soon after. Charlie and Kaine had just gotten the bread that they'd be eating with their dinner and left to go pay for the items. "Yup, we're good." He replied, looking at the stack of cookies in Jason's hands. He grabbed the boxes from him and placed them in the cart. "Let's go home, boss man." Gil started pushing the cart to the checkout lane, beginning to scan the items one by one.

Gil started pushing the cart to the checkout lane, beginning to scan the items one by one. Boss man. Jason couldn't help the grin that grew on his face once more. It felt good to be just that. The boss. As Gil took the role of scanning the items and getting them bagged, Jason skipped ahead to greet Drei, whom he hadn't seen since the entrance to the store. "What all did you get?" He asked, gesturing to his bags before looking back to Gil. He at least wanted to help carry their bags once he was finished, since Gil was doing all the work.
