Gil held his closed wallet in between two clammy hands. The reality of the situation left Gil feeling exposed. Having an emotional breakdown in front of the people he just met surely had to have led to a bad impression or two among the members. And Drei was right. It certainly was possible for his sister to still be alive. That gave him hope.
And besides, if anything, this event would only serve as a reminder that the current U.S. government is a scourge that needs to be taken down. Soon.
Gil closed his eyes, channeling his object movement ability. Gil had the power to control his own heart. Using this, he slowed the rapid beating down to a more manageable level, allowing him to regain his composure. Gil often used this aspect of his ability to remain calm even in situations where staying calm would otherwise be impossible for a human to accomplish.
Gil stood up from the floor and looked at Drei, Katy, and Kaine. "Be careful." He said, walking off to go lay on the closest bed.

Jason was immediately shot down, which brought his grin to a frown. He was just trying to be playful, geez... the redhead tried not to roll his eyes, and simply went back to what he was doing until Gil had caught his attention. Ah, he calmed down already? That was quite good news! They needed everyone in as sane of a mind as possible... So far, they were off to a rough start, especially with the way Elrod was looking. Maybe he ought to go try to calm Sun down now... After all, he'd been through a lot recently, and Jason assumed this whole ordeal wasn't making matters any better. Not like I have anything else I can do... Jason though, glaring at his computer. It wasn't his computer's fault, though...
Approaching Elrod, Jason lowered down onto a knee, his hand reaching out to touch the shoulder of the man who was quite clearly having a hard time. "Sun... you look awful... Please tell me there's something I can do... I know this an annoying and stressful situation, but..." Come to think of it. Jason wasn't all that angry Katy. Maybe it was his brunette's foolishness that caused him not to care, or maybe he really just didn't see the danger as big of a threat at the rest of them. Either way, he didn't do that good of a job at trying to control it. He felt is was somewhat out of his hands, aside from the few orders he'd casted out for the other part of the group. Either way, Sun was quite literally within his hands, and he cared more about the well being of him than Sun, if he was being honest. Sure, the other two were at risk by going with him, but he's not the one that suggested it.
"A-Abel and Trois... Okay, I'll try to remember that..." Katy spoke out loud, more to himself than to anyone else. He didn't blame anyone for not telling them their actual name. Either way, it didn't really matter which one he knew. Something to address them as was good enough, alias or not. At Jason's call to him, the brunette nodded back before realizing he probably didn't see it since they were already heading out the door. "O-oh! You got it!" He called back, eyes looking inside the room and then to the floor. God, he was so nervous... But... looking at the ones accompanying him... he started to feel less so. They looked so much more... fit than him. Or at least a lot healthier... He hoped that if anything happened, that at the very least, they would be able to fend for themselves. Katy shook at the thought of being taken away... He'd stand no chance in fighting back. Maybe his powers would come in handy in preventing that from happening, though...
The two men rushed Katy, the brunette nodding quickly, not wanting them to be anymore upset with him than now. "Th-thank you! I-I hope... she's okay..." Katy spoke back to Gil, right before turning away and marching down the hall. He teared up a little, feeling himself connect to Gil's previous emotions. It must be... so scary... being Gil right now...
Once outside the building, Katy cleared his throat, looking up at the sky that was a bit overcast now. So much for a beautiful day... "It's... easier if we walk. I.. I don't live too f-far, and I-I don't like cars so... it shouldn't take too long..." Katy assured them, shrugging. He lead the way down the sidewalk, taking a left and going further down the street. "U-Uhm... so... how did the... thing go... with everyone? W-was it.. scary?" He tried to participate in small talk.

As Kaine wandered out the doorway, his ears caught the sound of Gil's voice. It was a frail acknowledgement of their well-being, but it stirred a rather nostalgic feeling in his chest. "Be careful." The words were spoken out of concern for another, often in many people's daily lives. Yet, it seemed like a century passed since he last heard them being uttered to him. In reality, it was approximately two years tops if anything. Time just felt sluggish over the course of the last few months. His back was facing the others, but upon his face a faint smile was barely visible as he walked away.
Katy guided them across the sidewalk, before turning left and making way down the street.
At this point, he heard enough of Katy's shriveled up spout of a voice box. His cries were still fresh in his ears, ringing throughout his eardrums as though a gong had been struck. Perhaps his temper was getting the best of him, but the man's intellect left him with a muddled impression. All things considered Kaine was not in the mood for frivolous chit-chat at the moment, especially not with a nosy scavenger bird at his side. Not only that, but he needed to prepare himself for the possible mental strain he would undergo if a third-party anticipated their arrival. Skin manipulation came relatively easy, but controlling the movements of others could prove to be a challenge depending on number and range. Alas, he drew a breath as he calmed his nerves for a reply, "It wasn't bad. Everyone was alright," for the most part, "Are we almost to your place?"

He simply shook his head silently, with the small quick breaths dusting along the movement. With Jason there, it felt a little safer, and Elrod's breathing was soon coming to a regular pace. He was eventually able to speak, and sought to do so. "N-no, I can't think of anything that would-" Elrod remembered his water, it being half-empty by now after the drive, and took a few sips. "I- thanks, I think you've already helped," he finished with a deep breath, avoiding looking Jason in the face as usual.

Jason watched the man struggle, though slowly but surely he got a little better, at least at the breathing part. He was no longer huffing and puffing like a wolf before a brick home, instead like a small sheep who'd just caught it's breath from it's daily jog. Jason kept his hand there, eyeing the man and his actions as he spoke. Offering a small smile despite the fact that Elrod wouldn't see it, he lowered his other knee to the ground and sat next to Elrod, his side pressed to his friend's. "Is it alright if I put my arm around you?" Jason ask, lifting his arm, his elbow behind the timid one's head, though unmoving until he got the okay. This was okay, right? Like... people did these things in comfort, right? Or was this weird? Jason hoped it wasn't weird. He wanted to help...

Such an interaction would be a little embarrassing, but Elrod had to admit that he needed it. He however hadn't been hugged or anything similar in a long, long time, and felt a little nervous about it. His heart was still beating quickly from his earlier panic, and the rest of his nerves were on edge as well, but he thought maybe it wouldn't be so bad to accept the offer. It wouldn't have to be for too long anyway. "I-I... don't... mind it," he managed to say, though it was only a bit above a whisper. He then braced for impact.

Jason smiled, trying to cover up his own awkwardness. Was this weird to do around other people? Of course not, right? Why did Jason feel so nervous about it then? Lowering his left arm down, he wrapped it around the back of Sun's shoulders and placed a hand on his left shoulder. With that grip, he brought the smaller one's side tightly against his, the ginger's head leaning against Sun's as well. "I'm glad we got to meet up... and I'm sorry if this is scarier than you anticipated already... But you're strong, so I know thing's will be alright..." Jason spoke softly.

Now that was embarrassing. It would've been fine if he hadn't done that. Now Elrod was even more nervous. But it wasn't like he could move out of the grip- he already accepted it. It's not like it wasn't comforting, but the head on his was a little bit more than he expected. "I- Strong... is not how I'd describe myself. I'm quite a bit-" Elrod searched for something to say about himself that wasn't rock bottom, for he knew that would just make things uncomfortable- and besides, he didn't want to plant a seed of dark thoughts if he could avoid it. "weaker than you guys. I- don't know if it was a good idea for me to come, but then- with what happened to Canada, I know I made the right choice. Something has to be done," he said, surprisingly calmer than when he started out. He didn't acknowledge it, but Jason was helping. "I guess that means I'm glad about the meetup too," he finished with a small breathy smile.

If we're being fair here, most people here haven't done much of anything at all since we met up heh" Jason said, trying to lighten things up. "I guess we'll see when they get back how we can all actually put our minds to the test, eh?" Jason smiled at Sun as he brought his mood of speaking to a lighter sounding note, his left hand giving Elrod a gentle squeeze. "Well good. You're brave to have done that... After all, out of all the people we talked to back on the forums... only the six of you came forward." Jason's gaze lowered to the ground now, his eyelashes in his sight. "I gotta say, I was surprised you all had. I didn't think anyone was crazy enough to risk everything for something like this... but I'm glad you all did. Especially you, Sun! Things wouldn't be the same if you weren't here with me right now..." Jason lifted his head a little, his ginger locks sticking out a bit. "After all, who else would I be huggin' on if you weren't here, eh?" A big goofy grin spread across his face, eyes squinted in turn.

Gil stood up from the floor and looked at Drei, Katy, and Kaine. "Be careful." He said, walking off to go lay on the closest bed. Gil's words blipped on the edge of Drei's radar, which had tuned out most of the chaos within the room. With the flurry of emotions and tears, he'd put up the blinders and was staring intensely at the door that Katy had finally opened. But with that last send off, he paused and glanced back at the mentally exhausted man, nodding before stepping out the door. Gil had his sympathies, the first sympathy he'd felt for anyone so far. The first grief caused by something out of their control, something that wasn't caused by their own carelessness but the malice of a higher power. The thought of him losing his sibling due to the ruthless actions of the government was heart wrenching. Damn, that sucks, he frowned and wordlessly followed after Katy. "Scary? Of course not," Drei lied through his teeth, facial expression not even budging. As if he'd clue in either of the long haired weirdos to the several minutes of pacing and pep talk it took to get him to finally show his face. "It went well," he replied flatly, his eyes averting in the opposite direction of Kaine. 'Well' is an overstatement. The jokes and jests he was the butt of put him more on edge rather than lightening his mood. Despite all rational thought telling him it was mostly innocuous (sans the sheephead perhaps), he felt it triggering a visceral, defensive sort of reaction more than anything else. But now he had the chance to show them what he could do. Then perhaps the steady flow of poking and prodding would stop. Or at least it would stop annoying me so goddamn much. With an ample store of energy, he was more than ready for whatever worse case scenario was in store for them at Katy's house. And while he didn't expect Kaine to cooperate with him in the slightest, well at least he can probably fend for himself.

Elrod had automatically assumed he was the weakest, even knowing everyone else's powers were much more useful than his own- really, what use was it to stay awake for hours and hours, feeling every beat of everyone's hearts? It only served to unnerve him the majority of the time. Everyone else's powers were surely of more use than his. Elrod looked at Jason for once, listening to his ramblings with both doubts and intrigue. Now that, that was too much. What right did he have to say such an embarrassing thing? Why? Elrod felt his own nerves spike again and could only emit a small squeak of a noise in response. He tore his eyes away from Jason's big, stupid smile and focused once again on the ground. "Y-y-you really like to l-l-look on the bright side, huh...?" was all he managed to say after his initial shock wore off.

And while he didn't expect Kaine to cooperate with him in the slightest, well at least he can probably fend for himself."I-I see..." Katy stammered, his attempt at small talk ending in a huge flop. Ahh... things were so tense... These people hated him so much... He was better off dead, geez... Maybe he should have insisted on going alone, that way the two of them weren't roped in on this... Coughing a little, Katy put some of his long hair behind his ear and blinked a little harshly, paying too much mind to his body functions as he nervously lead the way. Breathing... why does it feel so hard to breathe now that I'm thinking about it? Oh God, breath in... breath out.... breathe in... breathe out... If he didn't breathe, his body would be starved of oxygen and die! But then again- "W-we're here" Katy blinked himself out of his crazy thoughts, slumping over at the sight of his house. They were a street or so away now, but Katy could still see the house. "O-over there, that is..." He pointed, quickly stopping just in case anyone were watching. "U-uh... should we just walk into my house like nothing is different or... or should I walk in alone? Or wh-what... I'm... I don't know what to do, I'm sorry..." Katy slumped, tears starting to form in his eyes as he overthought every possible situation. What if someone sprung out when they tried to come inside? Or maybe someone was already in the house? Or what if they were surrounded right now??? Or what if.... God forbid... all his worries were for nothing and there was nothing for miles within his home that was a threat to any of them... What if they got in and out without a problem...? Katy gulped and looked to the two guys for answers, quickly looking away and back at his house since their gazes were nothing but frightening. He could pee himself right now. Now that, that was too much. What right did he have to say such an embarrassing thing? Why? Elrod felt his own nerves spike again and could only emit a small squeak of a noise in response. He tore his eyes away from Jason's big, stupid smile and focused once again on the ground. He was all but amused with Sun's reactions. He never got these kind of responses online! After all who would type "I squeaked a little" as a response? Well, maybe some people... but probably not Sun. "Well, sure! Why not!" Jason lied. He wasn't really a huge optimist, he just wanted Sun to feel better. Whatever if took, really. He needed his head in the game for if things got bad later... Everyone but Sun seemed to be ready, after all. Jason put his right hand out, ruffling the other man's hair slightly. He laughed at the mess it left, quickly trying to fix it. "Anyway, what are you most looking forward to doing now that we're all here together in person?" Jason asked, trying to keep conversation going.

Maybe if he helped the world- maybe if he was important to saving it, he could be important to himself. "It would be good to help the country out of this mess. However we can."

Kaine peered at the structure in the distance, his eyelids narrowing as he focused his sight. His pupils wandered back to the man, who was staring at him momentarily before abruptly turning away in fear. He sighed, before outstretching an arm to pat the trembling sap on the back, "Calm down. You're alright." Having him cry now would really test Kaine's patience as he was already attempting to mentally prepare himself for what was to come. While previously he had maintained a laid-back attitude, his voice was stern as he spoke with utmost seriousness. "Katy, you said you had something to do with sensing? Can you sense any movement within the house, or do we need to move closer? If it's possible to get a read before diving in, then I think we should. Also, I need to know the other possible ways of entrance."
He bit his inner lip as his eyes strayed to Drei. Just earlier had they nipped at each other's ankles, how willing would Four-eyes be when it came to communication? Admittedly, he wasn't exactly stirring with excitement at the thought of their temporary partnership, but he wasn't going to risk getting killed either. "...Trois," he paused, "You can change your skin into objects, no? I'm assuming you'd have the highest defense between the two of us, therefore, I advocate you walking in first with Katy and I following behind. I can change the surface of your skin as well, along with the weight. It's up to you whether or not you take that up. Katy, I think you should stay close to me," That way I can monitor that mouth of his. "Any problems? If you have a suggestion, speak up."

Jason continued playing with the strands of his hair, placing his locks in the way he thought it'd went before. "Heh... You're right. And don't worry about not knowing where to start. That's what I'm here for right?" Jason beamed, setting his right hand back down to his side and placing his head back on the wall behind him. His eyes shut slightly, processing the words they just exchanged and also the flurry out thoughts that were going in and out about the whole Katy thing. Taking a deep breath, Jason loosened his hold on Elrod, but still having his arm around him. "We can do this, for sure..." That's when his phone buzzed and Jason sat up quickly, yanking his arm back from Elrod. It was a text from Katy... But simply the information he requested earlier.. Katy's address. No other new other than that. The redhead frowned and set down his phone, disappointed.
