"O-over there, that is..." He pointed, quickly stopping just in case anyone were watching. "U-uh... should we just walk into my house like nothing is different or... or should I walk in alone? Or wh-what... I'm... I don't know what to do, I'm sorry..." "...Trois," he paused, "You can change your skin into objects, no? I'm assuming you'd have the highest defense between the two of us, therefore, I advocate you walking in first with Katy and I following behind. I can change the surface of your skin as well, along with the weight. It's up to you whether or not you take that up. Katy, I think you should stay close to me," That way I can monitor that mouth of his. "Any problems? If you have a suggestion, speak up." The brown haired man's promise of more tears already was giving Drei a headache. When what they really needed was to focus on the issues at hand, Katy instead took to blubbering. He clearly would not be of much use, and with how little the blonde knew of the other man's powers, he couldn't even factor him into any sort of game plan. As for attitude, intellect, and abilities, he seemed entirely and utterly unreliable. Casanova's suggestion was at least mostly what he had in mind already. Well for once we're somewhat on the same page.
"I'll go in first, you two stay behind me. Worst comes to worst, destroy the computer and get out." He adjusted his glasses, pushing them up the bridge of his nose. "Now unless we're in danger, I'll need the two of you to shut up from here on out. I don't want my eardrums blown out," he added coldly, taking a deep breath and refocusing some of his energy into his hearing. Augmenting his senses was never something he particularly enjoyed, Drei now swimming in the cacophony of normally imperceptible noises, from the sounds of pedestrian footsteps to the subway running deep beneath their feet. Grinding his teeth together he took another deep breath, diverting a part of that energy towards his prefrontal cortex. With artificially heightened focus, he tuned out the unwanted auditory information and walked towards the front door of the house, waiting for Katy to unlock the door while keeping a careful ear out for any sort of suspicious sounds.

Gil watched Jason as he quickly reached for his phone after receiving some type of message. Gil sat up from the bed, preparing himself for the worst. If they got caught, he would have to save them, right?
Definitely. These people were vital to their operation. Of course there were other Chipless people in the US, but if news got out that three of them were captured and potentially killed, no one else would be willing to join their cause. It'd be extremely risky, as if it weren't already risky enough. Maybe he should have gone with them. Gil forte is in acting. He had no doubt that both Kaine and Drei were good fighters, but the problem with fighting is that it gives the government a chance to collect data on them. Which is no bueno. In a situation such as that, it would be better to use words. Besides, if he left, no one would be able to protect Charlie, Jason, and Elrod. As far as he knew, they weren't physically capable of defending themselves. Gil couldn't risk losing anyone else
Jason put the phone down uneventfully. Gil looked at him for a bit. "Hey, Jay. Do you have any siblings?" he asked.

You don't have to tell me twice. Kaine rolled his eyes at the pompous boy's remark, utterly annoyed by his coarse tone of voice. A twitch of the eyebrow followed shortly with the addition of "shut up" to his already demanding demeanor. For the sake of their mission, Kaine tried to bury his acrimony in favor of their work being performed cleanly. Yet, Seagull insisted their antagonism of one another continue even in a scenario as heavy as this. The urge to reward the male with his much deserved comeuppance was high, but alas he had to save their squabble for later. If they returned to their apartment safely; he would just have to give him an earful to make up for the silence.
His eyelids drooped, blocking out his vision as he allowed himself a pause between his thoughts. What am I getting so worked up for? Perhaps Four-eyes slight nudging coupled with Katy's tearful outburst had thrown his thoughts off track. It wasn't worth letting such petty occurrences get the best of him. With that, he nodded to himself as he made haste behind Drei as they made way to the front door.
...Still, the blonde one didn't even stop to consider Kaine's own prowess amidst the fog. Katy's he could understand, as the man couldn't even think straight for five minutes without being reduced to fretful weeps and woes. Even if he had a grasp on his abilities, his ability to focus them properly without interference of doubt was questionable. However, he didn't even bat an eyelid at Kaine's offer; it was if his words dodged the blonde's ears completely. It couldn't be due to lack of care, would it? While Kaine definitely knew Glasses didn't exactly care much for what he had to say; he wasn't exactly careless. Out of the rest of the group, he appeared to have a keen sense about him at the very least. Definitely more critical when it came to what met the eye; so then why would he choose to ignore a chance for assistance?
Is there something he doesn't want me to see? An eyebrow quirked to himself as the idea gnawed at his thoughts. After all, their earlier quarrel was a result of some rather... impeccable timing. If he truly caught onto Kaine's intentions, then his avoidance of Kaine's touch could be a result of a coveted secret or unwillingness to share. As the silence engulfed them, his brain stirred with speculation of the male's evasion.

Gil watched Jason as he quickly reached for his phone after receiving some type of message. Gil sat up from the bed, preparing himself for the worst. If they got caught, he would have to save them, right? Jason put the phone down uneventfully. Gil looked at him for a bit. "Hey, Jay. Do you have any siblings?" he asked. "Hm?" Jason's attention was now on Gil, not expecting to be spoken to. Especially not from Gil. Offering a smile, Jason shook his head. "Oh, no I don't. I was an only child..." Jason said, lowering his gaze a bit. "Hmm.. what about the rest of you? I don't think we ever talked about families much online, yeah? How many siblings do you have, Gil?" He asked.
Jumping ever so slightly at the pat that Kaine laid upon his back, Katy kept his gaze away still, staring holes into the sidewalk in front of him. He was trying not to freak out... He really was... But he couldn't help it! Everything was so scary and unknown and... he really didn't consider what he was getting into when he participated in all this. "I- uh..." I can't actually do anything like that... Katy thought before gulping and shaking his head, slowly looking up, but stopping hid gaze at Kaine's chest. "N-No. I can't... I'm not good at that..." God, he sounded useless! He practically was useless! "There's... a front door and a back door..." He answered Kaine's other question. It was then that Katy listened as the two talked among one another, not saying anything else in response. He was learning a little bit more about their powers now... Wow... They really were a huge asset to the team. Once Katy had picked up the mention of destroying his computer, he looked up at the blondie in disbelief. "Destroy it? B-but..." Katy shut his mouth quickly. No. This was his fault. This was all his fault and if worst came to worst, they gotta do what they gotta do. This was no longer about him. It was about the safety of the entire group. Taking a deep breath once more Katy nodded, trying not to let the blonde one's remarks get to him too badly. He wasn't trying to be loud, after all... Now that they were in front of the lanky one's home, the time came to open the door. Taking out his key, his shaky hand slowly came up to the door knob. He listened carefully, just in case there was any sound of stirring inside, but it was as silent as ever. None of the other two seemed too alarmed either, so it seemed to be A-OK. Unlocking the door, it swung open and not a sound could be heard aside from the air conditioning's hum. The coast was clear.

I have two siblings. My... older sister, who I guess you know about... And I also have a younger brother. Or had. Don't really have anyone at this point since I'm supposed to be dead." Gil said, chuckling a little and shrugging his shoulders. "It's a... bittersweet memory, ya know?"

Really?
Charlie's face flattened to one of disappointment as she realized that he was stupid enough to use his real name. Even when she was 8 years old and first joining these communities, she knew not to pull that kind of crap. Even with her online moniker being the equivalent of having a sticker on her shirt saying 'Come arrest me'. Hopefully, he'd learn to not use that name next time he'd make an account. With that, she set aside her grudges and saw the three off without so much as a word. Then, she pulled her laptop out of her bag and sat down on one of the couches, not bothering to plug her laptop in. For now, she would be on standby, listening in on the gratuitous small talk. She really didn't have anything substantial to contribute to the conversation, but she did have a plan.
"I could break the Government firewalls preventing us from accessing people in Canada. If that doesn't do anything, I can at least try and access classified government documents to confirm the theory. If I can find concrete information, we can at least get some form of progress," She announced, the words flowing out of her mouth with an unmistakable ease. Considering this was her special interest, it wouldn't be a surprise.

Unlocking the door, it swung open and not a sound could be heard aside from the air conditioning's hum. The coast was clear. Drei walked into the house first, scanning the area aurally and visually before nodding slightly. Nothing seemed out of place. The house was in order (or at least, not abnormally out of order), there were no unexpected noises, and no signs of any third party being inside. "Seems clear, but don't let your guard down," he mumbled, taking a few steps inside. Senses and focus still at a high, he walked forward into the dark and chilly living room, spotting the laptop on an absolute disaster of a desk next to the back door that Katy had mentioned. Not that it was surprising that Katy's house was as disorganized as his emotions. The blonde pulled the laptop up and off the table, turning it over in his hands a couple of times and frowning. "Well here it is," he sighed, turning back towards Kaine and Katy with the technology in hand. Was it mission accomplished? Hmm.... He frowned and turned the device over in his hand once more, tapping it with his fingers. "Katy. Does everything appear just as you left it?"

Kaine motioned toward the brunette to follow behind, taking great care in not taking too many steps ahead of the man. His eyes meticulously scanned the area, and while no signs of life appeared to inhabit the space, Katy's desk definitely signified someone making themselves cozy at home. Did he just leave behind a cluttered mess like this everyday? This doesn't really leave a good impression on visitors. Barely any light pierced through the veil of the curtains as they were hastily pulled shut as to deny the outside world itself. Katy must carried to an aversion to heat in general, being that his air conditioning was cranked up as well. With a man so thin, how did he not freeze to death?
Four-eyes already seized control of the laptop as his fingertips brushed against its surface with his eyes narrowed. Things were... too easy. Perhaps all of his mental preparation was for naught, that he had over anticipated the situation highly despite there was nothing to be concerned about. Yet if that was so, that didn't soothe the eerie churning sensation in his gut at the suspicion that someone had already been there. After all, if the government was tracking Katy down, Kaine couldn't claim to have knowledge on their course of action. He never dealt with officials face-to-face; he spent his life trying to avoid that. Dealing with an unknown enemy was the most stressful, especially when one had no idea if they were even being caught onto in the first place. Kaine's pupils locked on the device, a hint of paranoia raising among his nerves as his gaze became fixated on the object. What if they wanted us to take it back? Every miniscule suggestion was met with an air of uncertainty and distrust upon intruding his thoughts. While he tried to ingrain into his being that not every detail necessarily had to be a clue for an ulterior motive; he found his conscience second-guessing himself constantly.
The impulse urged his lips, "If everything is how you left it," he began, "then if there is a problem, it might be with the laptop itself." His gaze hardened, "If everything seems fine here, let's leave immediately, but I suggest we call Redhead before carrying it all the way back."

Katy followed after Kaine, eyes scoping the area. Yeah... everything looked like how he left it. The blonde one was the first to reach the computer, picking ip up and eyeing it. "Ah thank Goodness..." Katy breathed a sigh of relief at the sight. Then no one had been there after all! Walking up to Drei, his hands hovered in front of him, eager to let the computer into his graps, but he need not force the action, scared Drei might yell at him for doing so.
The impulse urged his lips, "If everything is how you left it," he began, "then if there is a problem, it might be with the laptop itself." His gaze hardened, "If everything seems fine here, let's leave immediately, but I suggest we call Redhead before carrying it all the way back." "Y-you think so...?" Katy mumbled, looking worried once again. "I-I turned it off so they shouldn't-" Katy's eyes looked back at the computer, which was indeed turned on. In sleep mode which was indicated as a green flashing light on the side, but turned on regardless. "H-huh? But I..."
Suddenly a jolt went through the poor man and he was filled with panic immediately. "We have to go." Katy said very quickly, his head looking around quickly for the source of his worries. "This isn't right- We have to go immediately! I-if we don't go-" Katy was sweating and shaking, quickly grabbing Kaine's hand and Drei but under his arm to help urge them out of the building. Things didn't feel right all of a sudden. They didn't feel right at all. Something bad was going to happen. And it was going to happen very soon.

Elrod listened to the conversation silently, with only slight worries about his hair. He didn't have much to say about himself, and waited for Gil to respond before talking. As he did, Elrod opened his mouth to participate, but soon realized the conversation was over as Charlie spoke up. Elrod closed his mouth, as this new direction of conversation would likely be a smarter choice. That's the kind of thing they should be talking about, anyway.

"Ah.. I see..." Jason wasn't quite sure how to respond to Mr. Smiles, the redhead offer him a slight smile, as if to apologize for the thoughts that had to be stirring in his head right now. Jason would try and relate, but... He hasn't really had anyone close to him like that... not after his parents. His parents were likely dead, so the only people he'd be worried about being taken away from him like that... would be everyone he met up with. These people were the only people he could consider friends. "Yeah..." Jason wasn't sure what Gil had meant about the whole dead thing... but he assumed he'd explain it in time. Now would probably be a bad time to start digging answers out of him, anyway... He made a mental note to ask at another time.
Thankfully, Charlie ended the conversation by starting a new topic, one he fancied a bit more. Standing up and moving from Elrod's side, the tall man walked over to the brunette and leaned against the arm of one of the couches. He was curious... and sure, Charlie was smart... but just how powerful was she? He knew she'd said what she was capable of, but actually experiencing it was another thing... If she truly could get past the government's firewall, or even hack into their system itself... Well, firstly, he'd be jealous to see it first hand. Secondly, he'd be impressed. And Thirdly he might wanna be her partner in crime. "Wow Major! That'd be amazing. It'd at least clear up if what Katy heard was true or not... Maybe help Gil out by knowing too." Jason smiled sympathetically.

Charlie nodded yes to Jason's statement, taking it as permission to go to work. Bypassing the firewalls would be much easier than to break into military servers: that would have to be the first option. She modified her IP address and network settings on her phone to match a citizen of a random Canadian province, and accessed the internet like normal, using any old search engine. She entered in the search criteria 'news site' and quickly gained access to a news website, the headline story catching her eye. She hesitated to click on the article but managed to, skimming the contents.
Katy was right. It was all true. Toronto was gone, and so was half of Ottawa. There wasn't much more information besides that, but that was enough to leave the girl speechless. She scrolled down to the comments section, the gravity of the situation truly settling in. Entire businesses, homes, and families: all destroyed in the blink of an eye for seemingly no reason.
"...G-guys...l-look..." she stammered, her expression shifting to one of true fear. All she could do now was wait for the rest of the gang to come around to see her screen.

In sleep mode which was indicated as a green flashing light on the side, but turned on regardless. "H-huh? But I..." Drei's blood ran cold as those words of uncertainty fell from Katy's mouth, the blonde slowly turning the laptop over in his hands one last time. The lanky man had mentioned on more than one occasion that he'd turned his computer off immediately out of panic. The flickering green light spoke otherwise. With the combination of the darkness, the blaring AC and the steady flashing of the green light, Drei's body grew numb, the blonde staring unblinking at the light for a solid moment. Someone was here, was the first thought that crossed through his mind, Kaine's thoughts on the computer being bugged the second thing to cross his mind. This thing was better off destroyed. Taking it back would be-- Suddenly a jolt went through the poor man and he was filled with panic immediately. "We have to go." Katy said very quickly, his head looking around quickly for the source of his worries. "This isn't right- We have to go immediately! They didn't feel right at all. Something bad was going to happen. And it was going to happen very soon. The confirmation that they were being tailed was all he needed. Without a second thought, the pale skin on Drei's hands morphed into a slick black material, resembling a pair of matte leather gloves. But to the touch, they had a sort of firm rubber texture. Hand tensing up, his fingers raked across the bottom of the laptop. Krrrrkt. The crackles and cricks of metal pins misaligning and circuits shorting out joined the ambient noise of the AC and the deepening feeling of dread. With the swipe of his magnetic alloy-coated hands, he'd thoroughly scrambled the inner workings of the laptop and wiped down the finger prints he'd so carelessly left behind. "We need to get the hell out of here and drop this thing down the nearest sewer grate." He pushed the laptop into Kaine's arms and turned towards the back door, a sort of a frustration evident on his face. If it had been only him and the 90 pound stringbean, he could've pulled him up onto his back and run the two of them down the block in the time it took for him to hand over the laptop. Unfortunately with the extra baggage, it wouldn't be that simple. But none of them could afford to get captured, whether they be an irritating Don Juan or an irritating cry baby. "Come on. Stay behind me for now and give me a nudge if you see something," he mumbled, rushing out the backdoor and focusing on his hearing and concentration again, on high alert for their quick attempt to leave the premises.

Kaine's eyes caught notice of the flickering illumination just barely noticeable under the fold, causing his body to stiffen up with horror at the realization that someone had been there. Whether or not Blondie heard anything or was just inefficient with his ability as a whole didn't matter now as there was solid proof of outside interference. His glare fixated on the device. There's no way in hell we're taking this back.
The suspicion of a third-party was solidified as now even Katy caught onto something much more dire than they could perceive by themselves. Kaine's hand was abruptly tugged at in a cold sweat of panic by the brunette as he anxiously pulled at him in the opposite direction. Luckily, Four-eyes caught on quickly as he made waste to the laptop's interior, yet the screeching and whirring of the equipment's malfunctioning system shot a wave of distress through the man as the hushed breeze of the air conditioning was perturbed by the busy noise. Shit! Couldn't he have done so silently, or at least wait for them to leave the premise? Either way, there was no chance of taking back the noise now, and if an intruder was within the vicinity then they were more than aware of their presence. As to add insult to injury, Bettina forced the laptop into Kaine's own grasp after he had so delicately wiped it clean of his own tracks. His eyebrows were tightly drawn with his lip pursed as he did so; an obvious sign of irritation overwhelming him. Is he still having an attitude?
While he stealthily trailed behind the blonde as he requested; he still found himself bothered by his lack of attention to his own abilities. His words were barely ever directed spoken to at this point, and it was downright maddening. Kaine didn't exactly tag along because he wanted to be apart of this, as much as he thought some assistance could be provided.
He'd be damned if he was going to let Glasses treat him like a pack mule. If anything, Drei was going to be the one carrying the precious cargo. His expression hardened as he leaned in closer behind the blonde. "Listen," his voice let out in a hushed tone, "Let's make a break for it. You carry me, and I'll use my ability to drag Kr00ger behind us, got it?" Given, if "Trois" was as quick as he was thought to be, then using his ability to drag Katy along could prove straining if the pace was incredulous, however, if coupled with weightless flesh and Katy just having a small grip on the male then it could possibly be achieved. Not for the whole way probably, but enough to speed past Katy's home surely.

Not for the whole way probably, but enough to speed past Katy's home surely. Drei paused, adjusting his glasses and looking over at Kaine. Right. Casanova's ability besides their shared affinity for skin manipulation was object manipulation, or as the blonde nerd liked to think of it, telekinesis. He'd entirely forgotten about that skillset of his, and honestly had no idea what it entailed. Would he be able to drag Katy along at the same speed without touching him? Too much weight would surely cause him to slow down significantly. But as seconds ticked away, there wasn't any time to question it, Drei doing one final auditory sweep of the backyard before diverting the energy to his core and his legs. Angling himself away from Kaine, he bent slightly at the knee, bracing himself for the man to hop up onto his back. "Hurry up and get situated," he whispered snappily.
