He then called forth two Livingstone Daisies, launching the razor sharp flora in tandem with the vines Eliza commanded. The daisies surged ahead like saw disks, aiming to render the beast into julienne. One of the daisies sliced into Quincy's shoulder and she hissed in pain, skidding out of the way instinctively before more damage could be done. She looked around in confusion, the external pain snapping her out of trance her internal pain had been causing. She blinked, he wild eyes returning to their normally fearful gaze. "W-What?" She whispered to no one, looking from member to member. Her eyes fell onto her hands, coated with fur up to her shoulders. She fell backwards, screaming.

Lan'Ra's eyes couldn't adjust to the light well. The lasers which came from the beast's arm came directly towards her. Lan'Ra cocked her head to the side, unable to tell what the sudden source of light was. Suddenly, she was buried in a warmth before a sizzling pain bubbled over her entirety. She let out a choked cry at the sudden pain. She blinked twice, the mansion darkening and the Captain coming into full view only resumed. "I-IM GONNA DIE!!" She yelled, her voice piercing the air like a knife. She shakily put her hand to her face and tried to heal, but she blasted herself with a magic she never knew she had trained. "LAN'RA, WHERE DID YOU LEARN THAT MAGIC?! ITS UNHOLY" "Who's Lan'Ra...?" "What...? Don't play coy, Lan'Ra, just tell me what you're up to?!" "I'm not Lan'Ra. You have me mistaken for someone else, my lady. I am Helameli Thalroth!" "You don't recognize your own mother...?" "mother? You're a funny woman." "I will be taking you to the doctor Lan'Ra. If you're doing this on purpose, there will be consequences" She blinked again and laughed lightly to herself. "I'm fine....I'm fine...." she whispered through her raspy laughs. She curled to the ground, placing her hand to her stomach and accidentally pumping herself full of something she thought was fire. Her vision was fading more and more by the second. "IM GONNA DIE!" She yelled again fearfully "IM FINE, IM WONDERFUL~!"She fell on her side, continuing to lose control of her magic Her yells continued. It was as if there were two different people yelling at eachother, but it was all herself. "I'm gonna... I'm gonna..." Lan'Ra drew her last breath. She smiled. Maybe it was better this way.

Two of the electric swords Jintama had thrown at the beast pierced the side of its head, the creature screaming and howling in pain as it flailed its body desperately, causing the ground to begin to shake. Was it trying to transform even further? The third sword Jintama had thrown landed inside the Captain's head via the gaping eyehole, the creature beginning to froth at the mouth as the inside of its head was electricuted.
The daisies Vervain had commanded along with the vines Eliza was controlling penetrated the head, slicing bits and pieces off the captain's head as the foam from its mouth began covering the floor. The vines ingrained themselves in the captain's temple, the creature trying to shake off the oncoming barrage as much as it possibly could but to no avail. Its limbs would not move under his command.
Florence eyes widened as she witnessed her teammate's life get taken by the enormous beast, the girl being burnt to a crisp by one of its lasers. The girl shook violently as she held back tears, turning to face the Beastly Captain and aiming directly into the whole she created. "YOU FUCKING MONSTER!!! THAT WAS MY FRIEND!!!" She screamed at the top of her lungs, unloading an entire canister of mana into one enormous bullet.
She fired it off, the bullet soaring straight into the eyehole and turning the brain into a pile of mush which leaked out through the beast's ears nose and eyehole. The beastly captain's body went limp, its violent shaking ceasing immediately. Behind the beast, the mana pillar that had erupted from the mirror placed in the center of the ritual circle wobbled and shifted before disappearing in what seemed to be the shape of a horrific face. With that pillar gone, so was the mana that filled the Captain's dead body, the blue energy wafting out of the body and disappearing in the same fashion.
The team had won! They'd successfully cut off one of the mana pillars.
This, however, wasn't enough for Florence now. She unloaded her last canister into the beasts head through multiple bullets, screaming "YOU MONSTER!! YOU FUCKING MONSTER!!! DIE DIE DIE!!!" She continued this until the canister of mana was completely depleted, metallic clicks going off from inside her gun as the people around her could hear her attempts to keep firing on the beast as she walked towards it's head.
She began bashing away at it's head with the large pistol, screaming and crying as the head began to cave in, finally stopping after she lost her voice. "She was my friend." She muttered out through raspy vocal chords.

The body of one of his teammates, a girl he didn't even know the name of fell. Pippin ran forward, letting out a worried squeak as he did so and pulling out a small tin canister and rag from his satchel. However, when the goblin got there he hopelessly fell to his knees, letting out a hiccup as his skin paled.
She was...
Already...
Blurred visioned of his master's dead body slumped over as their cotton white shirt stained red flashed before Pippin as the realization struck, though was then quickly shoved aside. He dropped the tin and rummaged through his bag once more, pulling out a murky green concoction with leaves and flower bulbs floating right in the mixture. Tugging the cork off with his teeth, Pippin tugged Lan'Ra into his lap and then attempted to force the potion through her motionless lips. As the liquid dribbled down the girl's burnt features tears welled in Pippin's eyes, the futility of his attempts sinking in.
He was a failure as an apothecary. Useless. Pippin threw the glass via, causing it shattered against the floor; the liquid inside wasted.

S-Somebody was dead. Oh no, somebody a-actually died. There were so many things happening in one day, in one hour, in one second. Quincy couldn't even have time to properly react to her own physical problems before a woman was burnt to a crisp in front of her. She watched the goblin creature try to resurrect her but to no avail. "Make it stop...make it stop..." The fragile girl fell to her knees, the aches in her body starting to ease up, but still throbbing with the adrenaline that coursed through her system. She rubbed her arms up and down and shook them as though that could possibly make them return to their normal shape. She felt like she was burning from the inside out...like that....like that....... Tears streamed down her face, but evaporated before they could drip off from the intense heat of her skin. One hand gripped at her chest while the other was still propped up, as though trying to shield her from the sight in from of her. "It hurts, it hurts...everything..."
Quincy grabbed both of her shoulders as sobs caused them to spasm. She tilted her head back and screamed with every fiber of her being. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" Was this the world now? Was this how things were going to be? She could not live in this world. She couldn't.

Oooooooh shit.... someone died.Jintama was about to bring her more of swords until. With the battle being over, Jintama kneeled down, trying to regain some of the energy she lost. All the while, thinking about what just happened. She has seen people die before, it's this is the first someone who is part of the team with her got killed off. {FLASHBACK}"Hey Jintama. You lost your energy again? That's reeeeeeaaaaal sad." "Oh, fuck off, Hipayo. That's reeeeeaaaal rich coming from a coward like you!" "Piss off. I have other stuff to deal with. Like not get into your battle shit." Hipayo walks away from Jintama. "Okay bye, you fucking coward. Don't let your ass hit you on your way out" Jintama sighed. "Why am I friends with such an asshole?" It was at that moment that Jintama herself became an asshole. "Damn..... That was... brutal." That's all Jintama had to say about the battle. She's still trying to regain energy.

Vervain's attention was so divided by his own pain and the events that followed shortly after that he hadn't noticed Quincy being nipped by his attack. Before he knew it, Lan'ra had been incinerated by one of the Captain's beams, her skin bubbling and roasting under the intense heat. "IM GONNA DIE!" She yelled again fearfully "IM FINE, IM WONDERFUL~!" She fell on her side, continuing to lose control of her magic Her yells continued. It was as if there were two different people yelling at eachother, but it was all herself. "I'm gonna...I'm gonna..." Lan'Ra drew her last breath. She smiled. Maybe it was better this way. Vervain had witnessed death many times in his lifetime. It was something he had grown intimately familiar with, but none of that meant anything when the spark of life was stomped out while under his supervision. Although he hadn't gotten the chance to know Lan'ra very well, he had felt her passing on a spiritual level. Why must life and death always be but a simple half-step away from each other...Whilst a few of his other teammates, particularly Florence, Quincy, and Pippin, outwardly expressed their grief, Vervain hadn't showed an excessive amount of emotion, but he was deeply affected by Lan'ra's death. With that pillar gone, so was the mana that filled the Captain's dead body, the blue energy wafting out of the body and disappearing in the same fashion. The team had won! They'd successfully cut off one of the mana pillars. The had won the battle, but at what cost? If the outcome of this was any inclination, it gave cause for Vervain to have a feeing in his gut that their future skirmishes may have much more "collateral damage" involved. Vervain slowly approached Lan'ra's corpse, which was being cradled by Pippin. It must have hurt, didn't it? "May you be reborn anew." He softly prayered. Vervain was a strong believer in reincarnation - the rebirth of ones soul. "The cycle of life and death never ceases to continue." Vervain patiently waited for Pippin to release the body before calling for a number of thin and spindly vines to wrap around her body in a makeshift coffin of sorts. The vines cracked through the marble, encasing Lan'ra corpse. The vines pulsed, the glow in Vervain's Organon shining a pale blue color before running down into the once tiny leaf formed from the wood of the cane. Vervain plucked the leaf off and stored it on his person. The vampire vines receded into the earth, taking Lan'ra's body with it. "We... should move on. Without the captain here to fear them, the other beasts may return."

Without the captain here to fear them, the other beasts may return." Florence stepped back from the Captain's corpse, still shaking like a leaf in a windstorm. "Y-yeah.. We should." She muttered as she began walking out the manor's doorway. "Lets go team.... we can probably relax at the college. Last time I passed by, there weren't any monsters there..." She said. As she stepped outside, she noticed a figure slink off towards the city, but figured it was likely just a stray beast and let it go. And with that, the team navigated through the town, the beasts still nowhere to be found. They must still be in hiding from the Captain's commands. The team made it to the College of Aueyen with ease, the gate surrounding the school being covered in strange slips of paper which emitted an pungent aroma. Florence stepped inside, snapping the cylinder our of place and shoving each canister into the soil of the college's garden. "They'll fill up faster that way..." She muttered to herself. The group walked inside, a rather leisurely dressed woman standing in the main hall reciting an strange incantation while an orb of light shimmered in her hand. Upon noticing the new group, her face flushed a slight red as she let out a laugh. "O-oh!! Hello! I...honestly didn't expect anybody to be coming in to the college!" She spoke, a slight accent present in her voice. "I'm the schools headmaster, Gwynolis! You all look terribly tired! You should rest here! We have plenty of space here since....you know... the beasts.." She let out another nervous laugh. "Th-thanks!" Florence stuttered, her face flushing red at the sight of the woman in front of them. "But wait, did you say we?" Gwynolis giggled. "Yes, my brother is here with me as well, although... he's not really the talkative type! He's probably off meditating in the library! I also believe there may be a few students still lingering about! If you need anything, feel free to ask!" Gwynolis chimed as she walked off into another room. Florence quickly located a washroom and cleaned herself of all the blood and juices from the eye she had managed to destroy; after which she unattached the gun arm she was fond of and set it in her bag, replacing the empty socket with a mechanical limb instead. She soaked her jacket in the water, ringing out all the excess liquid before hanging it up outside. "Heheh... hope I didn't ruin the coat, dad..."

Pippin pitter pattered through the collage hall, having to speed walk in order to keep pace with his companions. His mouth would occasially open, only to shut before saying a word, his master's words about being best seen not heard running through his mind.
When the group settled Pippin situated himself at a chair and coffee table intended moreso to be a place to rest and wait between classes then one where serious work could be had. Yet this was lost on the goblin, who had begun to sprawl the seemingly endless contents of my pockets and bags around him, small legs swinging freely as they were too short to reach the floor.
"Um, I can heal you," Pippin called out to the rest of the group, waving for extra emphasis.

The team had managed to make it to the College of Aueyen with little difficulty. In fact, there were so few of the monsters around that often times during their traverse Vervain thought they'd be ambushed. As Vervain approached the once prestigious gates of the college, a wave of nostalgia washed over him. He used to teach here. Serving this school by spreading words of wisdom was his niche. Memories flashed inside of his mind. The faces of his lost students - the ones he couldn't protect - still haunt him to this day. Before he could delve too deep into what happened in the past, his attention was drawn to strange slips of paper attached to the entrance. Wards. Vervain's curiosity was peaked. He hadn't known that there were any survivors holed up in the college. And by the looks of it, they were very proficient in magic. Who could it be..? Vervain had his suspicions, and was excited to see if he was correct. "As I thought!" Vervain said. Before he could interact any further with the headmaster, she had walked off, leaving the group to themselves. He hadn't seen the director of the College since the outbreak. He never thought that she'd been killed or transformed, but he also never expected to see her again. Vervain was on good terms with the majority of the staff at the college, Gwynolis included. As had she said that there were other students in the building? The thought of there being a safe place for them warmed his heart. He'd have to catch up with her later. But first... he placed a hand on his hip in a feeble attempt to rub out the pain. He should rest first. "Um, I can heal you," Pippin called out to the rest of the group, waving for extra emphasis. "I think I'll take you up on that offer, Pippin." he saiid as he made his way over to the coffee table the goblin sat at. He took a seat across from him, leaning the Organon against the table. "Do you have anything that will fix this pain in my hip?" Vervain said, slightly smiling at Pippin.

This is a moment of rest. Feel free to have your characters interact with one another until we move on. Quincy, who had made an effort to stay far away on the sidelines during their trek over, found a lone corner in the room that was unoccupied and claimed it as her own, squatting down and resting her shoulder into the nook as she tried not to look at anyone. The dark blood that had previously spilled on her was changing to a light brown and hardening, making her quite uncomfortable, but asking where the washroom was seemed trivial. She deserved to rot. After all she was... She moved her arms behind her back, a pinch of fear circulating in her system at the sight of them. These were hers now. They were apart of her. The thought almost had her in tears again, but she was currently out of those. Her mouth felt try and her stomach tight. But how could she be thinking of food at a time like this? She was truly disgusting. Her father would be appalled--. Her eyes went wide when she realized there was something missing on her person. She quickly started to pat down her clothing, but to no avail. Her father's gun was gone; she'd forgotten to pick it up after the fight. She torn the remaining glove off her arm in frustration, tossing it to the floor before falling beside it and staring at it quietly. She gripped her mother's necklace for comfort, but it did little to help. Her mother was dead. Her father and step mother were beasts. And soon, she'd probably be joining them.

The words felt weird coming out of his mouth. Normally, this was when he'd disappear to the back room- though there wasn't one at this time- and busy himself cleaning or preparing basic ingredients rather than providing the customer with the specific product they needed. Customer interaction was always left to somebody taller and less green. "Is this a reoccurring thing?" Pippin asked, separating a rather large vial from a cluster. Osteoarthritis- joint wear was common in old people, and Vervain looked pretty old... though it was hard to tell with people who aged past 25. As he awaited a reply, Pippin's eyes wandered towards Quincy. His face contorted into a scowl and he quickly shot his gaze back at the elder across from him. Leaning inward, Pippin whispered to the man across from him. "Uh... is she gonna..."

I took a rather nasty tumble during the trifle with the beastly captain. Usually my bones are pretty stable, for a man my age," he chuckled. "Though I suppose things have changed change since we became prisoners of this city." She torn the remaining glove off her arm in frustration, tossing it to the floor before falling beside it and staring at it quietly. She gripped her mother's necklace for comfort, but it did little to help. Her mother was dead. Her father and step mother were beasts. And soon, she'd probably be joining them. "Poor girl." Vervain softly said, noticing Pippin glancing at Quincy. "Up to this point, all she has seen since stepping outside is death and despair. It can't be easy for her." Leaning inward, Pippin whispered to the man across from him. "Uh... is she gonna..." Vervain pondered the question for a bit. "A flower placed in unknown soil does not easily find its roots. Miss Marsh needs time to cope. Though it is strange - her... mutation, that is. She appears to not know what is happening to her." Then, making eye contact with the goblin, he said, "We need to keep an eye on her, Pippin. It could give us insight as to how the beasts undergo their own transformation. Perhaps you could see to her attention once you're finished with me?" He paused, considering. "But anyway! To answer your previous inquiries, no, this is not something that happens very often. I happened to take a rather nasty tumble during the trifle with the beastly captain. Oddly enough, my bones are quite stable for a man my age!" he chuckled. "Though admittedly, things have changed since we became prisoners of this city."

The goblin grabbed at a rather brilliant flower, though his interest lied strictly with the small cluster of seeds it held. He dug past the flower's bright pink speckled petals and pulled out a few minuscule seedlings which where then deposited into the mortar. As the goblin broke the seeds down in the mortar his gaze once again wandered over to Quincy, the same feeling of guilty that he felt back on the roof top earlier today washing over him. His ears flattened as the goblin chewed his bottom lip and his mind over what he should do ad whether or not the girl should be approached. Pippin took the vial from earlier and added half of it to a smaller, empty jar before adding the powder he had made and then mixing the contents. "Here. This should address everything bone and muscular. If you have any nerve damage I'd need to find a cauldron or something.... they'd probably have one here though."

There was a babbling of sorts, an array of confusion sputtering from the lips of a nearby member's voice Eliza could not recognize. It was an incoherent jumble of phrases ranging from panicked shrieks of terror to words of self reassurance. Her eyebrows furrowed, drawing closer as she merely focused her attack, watching the thorns drive themselves into the very beast's head. A wince of disgust followed, but just as she was about to wipe the sweat from her brow- A familiar teammate cried out, shouting profanities at the top of her lungs as she decimated the body to a bloody pulp. In the midst of her fit, she even resorted to taking her pistol and using it to clobber in the remains in a hideous manner as the blood spurted back in droplets and spouts with every thump. "My friend?" Eliza could no longer bear the site of the blonde's heated fury as she jolted her head to the other side to block out the violent tantrum. However, her pupils were met with the charred corpse of a woman who was accompanied by a goblin frantically trying to administer aid. Her professor had assessed the situation before her; his eyes lingering on the fallen body with a tinge of remorse. The anxious bellows from earlier mixed with their leader's overwhelmed mind had clicked; one of them was dead. There was a moment of stillness. Her mind was blank as she tried to process the contorted remains just a few yards away. Eliza hadn't known the unfortunate soul, nonetheless this was a fate too cruel. Yet among the ice that froze her blood and chilled her bones, a flame was lit. That could have been me. Just as the thought invaded her, as sharp pain stung beginning at her toes. The sensation of nails being forcing their way into their tips followed by a churn of the stomach in reaction to the disturbed sense drove Eliza's palms over her mouth. It was a sickening feeling, only to spread to the soles of her feet and up the ankle. It was revolting, so much so that she resisted the urge to gag. Her pores were reduced to cold sweat as the effort to remain on her feet became ever-so-difficult. Her limbs felt so, undeniably heavy, and the weight only pressed into the imaginary nails further. It's going to be me.
The heat of the moment was over, and with it all stability that her mana provided. She remembered gliding through the air so cheerfully just earlier, but how? Why? Nothing should have elicited such a powerful confidence from her mind. At least not one to take her out of her situation. Regardless, the matter was obvious- a mistake was made. It was up to her to pick up the pieces of it in order to recover. If she didn't even gain half of what she lost within the hour; she would definitely vomit and provoke suspicion as a result. Her veins would only ache farther up her body the more time she wasted. While the death of an ally was discouraging, it would be a big enough distraction to sneak away from the others while they were gathered among it. Silently, she rose to her feet as she took caution in walking away without much of a sound. She sidestepped behind an obtrusion, as to escape an onlooker's line of sight. Eliza nervously glanced over her shoulder as she did so, constantly peeking in every direction as the paranoia settled itself. No one could see her performing such an act. The taboo of siphoning from the fallen was heinous enough in nature, but the fact that her blood could not be separated from her face was worse. Maybe a born noble could perform such an act behind closed doors and not one would bat an eyelid, but she could not. At least not in the same regard. If the noble is arrested, it ends there. However, being of ambiguous mixed blood and from the lowest level of housing... Well, she'd bring everyone down with her. One of the fallen beast men from their earlier onslaught laid faced down on the pavement outside. With another peek in all directions, Eliza approached the body and dragged the dead weight into a shaded area. As the body dredged itself and left behind a scarlet trail, the pangs of guilt rooted themselves. She attempted to calm her breathing upon laying the body down, preparing herself for the next step as her hands trembled over its wound. Hesitation stopped her fingers in their tracks as she hovered her palms over the laceration, but shut her eyelids tightly as she rested them in the blood. In the darkness of her eyelids, bright flecks of turquoise buzzed and whirled in her vision as shooting stars of magenta popped and soared. Her veins were met with a searing fire as the warmth shot through her body, with the scar on her face retreating slightly. The mark remained, and had even grew just a tad a bit in size. The rest of her limbs were beginning to feel manageable once more, and the mana coursed through her markings with a strange pull on the skin. The deed was done. She stood to her feet as her pupils gazed down at the corpse. Time was frozen as long as she kept eye-contact with the beast, but eventually gained the strength to break away. Eliza rubbed at her spots on her forearms, walking slowly into the college once more with her shoulders hung low. A water droplet fell atop the black mark, but no words were said before it was promptly swiped clean. It's fine.
