Pema used his sound magic to make Poppy's songs louder in order to enhance their effects. Now with the speed and damage boost Pema would be able to storm right into the hoard of Thorns, but he hesitated because he heard danger coming towards them. His sound magic allowed him to hear the ground rumbling as well, and noticed the rumbling quickly getting closer and closer to them. Pema shouted to the rest of the group "Something is coming towards us from underground! Prepare yourselves!" He unsheathed his massive sword and held it in front of him almost as if it were a shield. The stone man rammed straight into the Thorns and not only managed to block their path, but he even managed to push quite a bit of them back a little. Pema created a sound that irritated the Thorns, causing most of them to attack him instead of advancing towards the keep. Pema then slashed with his sword and managed to kill 2 Stingers in a single slash, but while his aggressive strategy seemed effective at first, it caused the Thorns to attack him from all angles. 3 more Stingers that Pema wasn't fast enough to block prepared to attack his left side, and he wouldn't last long on the front lines if nobody attacked them. With Poppy's song finished, she kept an avid eye out for anyone in need of healing or any other boosts in their abilities. The growing number of thorns began to taint her mind with thoughts of fleeing, of abandoning this group and saving herself, of giving up just like she always does. She took a step backwards, toward the keep, glancing over her shoulder and wondering if it'd be possible to escape from the other side of the walls. That was, until her attention was snapped over to Pema's shouting as he slaughtered two of the Stingers with one swipe of his gargantuan blade. Poppy glanced around the battlefield, witnessing all of the desperate fighters try their hardest to push these beasts back. The bard gulped and gripped at her lute tightly as she turned back to face Pema, who was about to be bombarded with three other stingers. Her hair stood on end as she gritted her teeth before sprinting towards the fray. "OI!! You can fuck right off!!" She shouted as she smacked one of the stingers square in the head, causing it to stumble backwards and bump into one of the others. She turned towards the third and kicked it as hard as she could, immediately regretting this decision as thorns became lodged in her skin. It did manage to send the beast hurdling backwards a few feet, buying her and Pema some time. "Watch you back! These damn things are everywhere!!" She shouted, wincing slightly as pain began creeping up her leg.

"So we're sticking 'round for the long haul, huh?" Panna sighed and adjusted his hat. Panna briefly ran through his own strategy, the battle would be a long and enduring one. If he was to ambitious and showed off in the beginning he would just end up being a casualty later on. The thought of running out of ammunition in particular worried him. Panna snapped to attention, pulling a coin from his pouch and shooting it into the body of the thorn Poppy had kicked back. He jogged to the girl and allied Golem, calling out to them. "Hey! Don't you have a weapon?" Panna pulled a dagger out and then offered it to the bard. "If you insist of fighting those things, little missy, You can't be doing it with your bare hands. Here. It's not much but I don't got much to begin with."

Poppy turned over towards the cowboy offering her a knife, the bard frowning for a moment when looking at the dagger and shaking her head. "I'm okay, really! I don't need any weapons. I hadn't really planned on fighting anyways, just.. helping the rest of you real fighters!" She shouted hesitantly and gave Panna a nervous smile. "You'll need that dagger more than I will!" She gripped the neck of her lute tighter as she looked around at the enormous hoards of enemies still approaching, her instincts to flee becoming stronger and stronger with each new beast. "If push comes to shove, I can always just use m-" Before she could finish her sentence, a large root burst from beneath her feet, sending Poppy hurdling backwards and hitting the ground with a large thud, much heavier-sounding than someone of her size should have made. She groaned as she quickly got back up to her feet, rubbing the back of her head and enormous ponytail before looking around and realizing several of the beasts had begun making their way towards her. She held her lute at the neck as though she were going to use the instrument as a club, and prepared for the worst.

Leander noticed the bard's hesitation, and was about to reassure her that he would protect her for this battle, as he had promised, but before he could even whisper these words she had seemed to regain some of her composure. He watched in slight horror as she ran forwards and towards Pema, taking a hit he could have easily prevented had she stayed closer to him. "POPPY!" Leander barely kept his voice at a reasonable volume, worried another loud boom would just draw the attention of more thorns. He flinched as he watched the root burst up and immediately started sprinting towards the small group that had began to form. Leander skidded in front of her, using the large piece of boulder in his hands to bash at any thorn that got too close. "I said I would protect you!" He spoke with hushed anger towards the other. "You are not a fighter, do not wander off without someone! You will die! Do you want to die?!" With the heat of battle, his kinder nature had been pushed aside as survival became top priority. He had been a defender for his tribe, he was supposed to helpful. How could he help them if they didn't listen to him?!

Nyle focused her strength on keeping the swarms back, engulfing each one in flames as they appeared. Most swarms went down without much fight she noticed, satisfying her as she kept going with the help of her unknown power boosts. The plans discussed around her fell on deaf ears through the noise of her fire blasting. She stood her ground as she shot swarm after swarm out of the sky, stopping once in a while to set fire to any stingers as they drew nearer. Most everyone's activity had gone unnoticed by Nyle as she continued to fight, until a loud bang grabbed her attention immediately. "Right, Are You Ready Knight, Good Lets Get Going!" As She Said This She Tossed Her Doll Into The Air When A Loud Bang Can Be Heard, Then A Knight Appears In front Of Storm Fly. "HOLY CRUD!" She shouted, immensely surprised at the thing's arrival. "That is one BIG soldier!" She pointed dumbly as she shouted this. She was about to once again start asking Storm about her toy, as the giant knight now interested her very much, but was reminded they were in the middle of a battle with the cry of a giant nearby. "You will die! Do you want to die?!" This statement alone, though not aimed at Nyle, kicked her back into focus as she turned to the hoard once more. It had become much more intense as she had been distracted, and she went back to hurriedly blasting their foes before anything else could get too close for comfort.

That scream...Poppy's facade of confidence immediately shattered to millions of pieces as Leander skid in front of her, protecting her from any beasts nearby. As Leander continued to yell at her, she could feel the sting of fresh tears beginning to stream down her face. Her body shook with Leander's final words delivered, the girl swallowing hard. In the bard's mind, the battlefield went silent. It felt as though time had suddenly stood still, giving her a moment to glance around her. The carnage, the shouting, the protecting, the shouting.... {Spoiler - Click to View} It felt like she was back... "POPPY!!! WHAT'D I TELL YOU!? I TOLD YOU NOT TO WANDER OFF WITHOUT ME! YOU AREN'T A FIGHTER!!! IF YOU STAY HERE, YOU'LL DIE!! DO YOU WANT TO DIE!?!? GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!!! RUN!!! RUN AWAY AS FAR AS YOU CAN AND DON'T LOOK BACK!!!"
Poppy brushed the tears away from her eyes, doing very little to stop them. Time suddenly caught up to her and she was back in the thick of the current battle. She looked up at Leander, still shaking like a leaf. "I-I'M SORRY!!" She screamed, sounding absolutely horrified despite the current situation. As she began to realize where she was, and the current situation, she attempted to regain her composure, albeit in vain. "I won't run off... I'll.. I'll stay by someone's side.." She shouted back up at Leander, somewhat defeatedly. She repositioned her lute and attempted to start playing. " G-gotta play that song..." She whispered to herself as she plucked her strings, only using enough magic for herself to be effected. Over the booming sounds of the battlefield, it'd be impossible for anyone but her to hear given how softly she was playing. " Gotta play...gotta play..." She continued muttering. As her silent song finished, she wiped her tears away and her smile reappeared on her face as though nothing had even happened. " AAAAAAAALRIGHTY~!" She cheered, excitedly. "What's the plan, big guy!!?"

So, the battle had begun, huh? The attack had stopped all friendly communication among the bunch, as they were now focused on surviving. The dark haired woman sighed, placing her mask back over her face. Now was the time she'd actually start fighting... To be honest, she'd done a lot of fleeing against these creatures, so this battle was a new one to her. A very dangerous start, too.
Watching those around her, she took note of their fighting style. The giant rock buffoon seemed to be calling the attention of many enemies now as well as helping the smaller singer.
"Suppose that's my cue..." The woman brought out both hands, three very sharp icicles forming from thing air above each hand. With a thrust of her right hand, three icicles shot out and to one of the stingers approaching her big and small ally. The icicles went for the creature's limb-like legs, and when she thrusted out her other arm three more pierced it's head. With the songs that granted them strength and speed, Raei used that to her advantage, summoning a line of at least a dozen icicles in front of her body in but a moment. Bringing both hands out, the line went straight out to the roots snd through a few swarms. It didn't seem to do much to the swarm, slicing straight through, but it had at least temporarily paralyzed a few roots that insisted upon their creeping. She'd have to get closer if she wanted to do more damage.

'Well Knight I Guess We Should Just Hang Around, We Have All Our Friends To Protect." Storm Said Sternly And Glared Towards The Thorns Once Storm Fly Said This Knight Picked Up Storm And Placed Her On His Shoulder. "Right Here We Go. Lets Eradicate Some Of Those Stingers!" She Pointed Towards Them And Knight Started Running Towards Them Swinging His Sword. "God These Guys Are Everywhere Well As Far As I Can See, We Are In A Lot Of Trouble Ain't We Knight? How Will We Stop All Of Them?" Storm Looked Down Towards The Ground Will Knight Carried On Fighting Off The Thorns. While She Was Looking She Saw Nyle Looking Shock And She Started To Laugh Until She Knight Started To Lose His Balance And Stumbled Backwards "Gahh, Knight Are You Ok Whats Wrong." She Paused "Ok Then If You Say So. Anyway Pretty Cool Right Nyle I Can Protect You All The Way From Up Here!" She Started To Wave Her Hand At Nyle Until She Started To Get Attack By The Swam Covering Both Her And Knights Eyes.

She Started To Wave Her Hand At Nyle Until She Started To Get Attack By The Swam Covering Both Her And Knights Eyes. Another few attacks sent by Nyle went by before looking back at the knight, noticing Storm was now on its shoulder. She also noticed the girl was not paying attention to what was in front of her, opting to wave down at her instead. This caused Nyle to jump about, shouting up at her a warning as she couldn't shoot a fireball at the swarm without the fear of hitting the girl instead. "WATCH WHAT YOU'RE DOIN KIDDO YOU'RE 'BOUT TO GET HIT!" She yelled, hoping dearly that Storm would hear and realize in time.

"Knight Defend Yourself Silly You Can't Leave Me Like Everyone Else Has!" She Started Crying. Nyle was surprised the knight seemed so helpless against the swarm, and once Storm hid behind her back she knew she had to protect her and her toy. "I sure hope you're heat resistant," Nyle muttered to herself as she prepared to blast the swarms off of the knight. She hit the swarms and they were set ablaze, no doubt heating the knight just next to them. "Pay attention when we're fightin, Storm!" Nyle shouted over the noise of the battle, trying to show she was somehow competent by giving advice, though she had not heeded her own words just a moment ago. "You can't let your guard down! When you get back to your knight try to avoid the swarms, okay?" She glanced behind her to see Storm's tearful eyes and felt a great pity for her. The poor girl. She really was too young for any of this. "Hey, don't worry! I'll have your back whenever I can!" She patted Storm's head before focusing back on the army of thorns. All around her everyone was giving their all to fight back. The rock man from earlier had just been covered in the plant beasts, being fought back by both himself and what looked to be ice magic, from which Nyle could not discern the source. Everyone's efforts along with the quivering Storm behind her made her hope uncharacteristically that they could come out of this safe and sound. She forced herself to believe it to be true, for she'd already seen enough death, and created the biggest fireball she could muster. She sent it far into the crowd of thorns, setting whatever it could on fire. Roots, stingers, seeders, anything in the blast radius as it had gone past the front lines and into the fray. A good amount of plants shriveled and fell upon impact, though just as many had taken the hit in stride. Nyle could feel her strength fading with that last attack, and hoped she had not overdone it- the fight hadn't started all that long ago, after all. It was a good thing for Poppy's spells, though she hadn't known of them, otherwise she would surely have felt she couldn't go on after an attack like that.

Vel'Ari's shock at the situation melted quickly as she readied herself to fight. Stepping forward, she saw a stinger dashing for her. With a glare, she let her vines extend from her monstrous arms and lift the monster into the air. Dragging the thrashing thing forward, she lodged two finger from each hand into the being so similar to he self. She began to move her hands away from each other, hearing sickening snaps and cracks as she saw the hole formed in the middle of the monster she had created. Without a second thought, she ripped her arms away from each other, and with a sickening Snap, the thorn lay on the ground, in two pieces. She glowered down at the corpse and continued forward, examining her hopeless allies. The only person that seemed to be of some use was the other child, which relieved her, even though she was staying atop a building sized toy. Charging forward to the front of the battle, Vel'ari went to take more enemies head on

Panna watched the scene between Poppy and Leander, gripping the brim of his hat tensively. He questioned whether or not he should intervene and attempt the calm the bard down, yet ultimately decided against it. He would be doing Poppy more good right now by listening to Anden's orders and fighting off the encroaching horde, at least then he would be keeping the kid safe.
Or as safe as she could be right now.
Panna surveyed the area, scoping out a pair of archer's parapets as well as other forms of high ground, any of which would serve him accordingly. He then turned to Pema, "I'm going for the high ground. I'll support everyone from there!" He called out over the roar of battle and then turned to the eastern parapet, jogging towards it.
A group of three stingers then turned their attention towards Panna and began to chase after him.
"Oh come on!" Panna groaned, speeding into a jog, the situation all to familiar to him. He had spent many days and nights out running and hiding from the thorns, ducking into crags and hold his breath underwater wait for them to pass him by. Now he was fighting them with pennies like a damned fool. Just as Panna was busy berating himself for agreeing to fight the creatures he found himself under the loom of a enormous, if not familiar shadow. Panna looked up to find the source, only to identify it as the root he had brushed against earlier. However, this time the gears in Panna's head began to turn. He looked between the thorns chasing him and the one looming above, a smile- though a nervous one, formed on his face as his plan solidified. Panna's run slowed down, allowing the stingers to catch up to him as the root above him began to crash down on the newly formed group. Adrenaline rushed through Panna's veins, he could feel the weight of the colossal root crashing down on him before it even made contact.
Not yet... now!
Panna slid out of the way of the root just as it crashed down, just barely escaping being crushed. The three stingers behind him, however, were not as lucky. Panna regained his footing and turned back to examine his handing work. "I still don't forgive you for last time."

He spoke in a hushed tone, as though speaking to a child. He watched her move her fingers over the instrument, reaching out slowly as though he were going to place a hand on her shoulder for comfort, but immediately pulled back when her cheerful shout broke free from her lips. "Plan?" He looked back at the thorns coming towards them, a root springing up and almost taking out his right ankle. In one swift motion, he used the jagged side of the boulder to slice through it's base, watching it wither with satisfaction. "I do not have one." He stated simply, and then gestured with his chin to where Arden was. "Keep them back. That's all." The giant glanced back at the bard. "And keep our heads, too."

She cheered as she surveyed the surrounding fighters, watching in awe at the variety of skills each warrior held. Poppy envied their magical prowess, looking down at her lute for a moment and frowning slightly. I should learn some offense songs... Maybe the castle has some books on it! Or we'll go to a town with a library!! Poppy became deeply entranced in thought with the idea of what sorts of spells she would learn that she didn't notice the small specks forming in the air around her. A swarm began to congregate around the bard's head, pricking at her skin and causing only a minor annoyance at first, but an annoyance strong enough to snap her out of her daydreaming. She tried shooing the little pests away, only to have the group of them grow the more she struggled. "Could you just-! I'm trying to-! I just-! Grrrrrr.." She growled to herself as the group began to begin picking through her skin. Poppy made a sudden jump forward so that the swarm was behind her and.... {Spoiler - Click to View} " OI!! WOULD YA KINDLY FUCK OFF!!" She shouted. Her 'ponytail' split open as though it were some sort of plant, revealing rows of gargantuan teeth. With the swarm completely encompassed by the mouth's range, Poppy chomped down, trapping the little bastards inside and quickly dissolving them with the mouth's acidic saliva. With those minor pests gone, the mouth fell back into place, hitting the bard and causing her to stumble slightly from its weight. Realizing that she'd let a moment of anger reveal a secret she'd been hoping to keep as long as she could, especially given people would hunt her kind for these 'second mouths,' Poppy froze in place and turned to look at the fighters, hoping nobody had seen what she'd just done but knowing that's likely impossible.
