"Hello there, welcome! If you're here for the beacon, Anden there is the one who lit it! Talk with him some, he'll explain everything!" She gestured with her thumb towards the man in question, hoping dearly that the newcomer was as friendly as some of the characters she'd come across before. As Raei neared, it seemed one person had already taken note of her presence. The voice called out to her, and Raei tilted her head up ever so slightly to catch a glimpse of the person speaking to her. The young woman gestured at one of the few men in the area, which interested her to begin with. 'The majority of the women here must be intense magic users then. Not many of them look fit to fight with weaponry of the metal or steel variety, after all. But seeing as they are all clothed fairly well, who knows what they could be hiding under there.' A pair of pecs could hide... The blue haired woman didn't reply to the other, only turning her body to face the direction of Anden. Now he looked fit to fight with weaponry or even just his fists! It seemed he wasn't afraid to flaunt it either, seeing as he looked like the most under dressed one there. It made her smirk, wondering if he was the cocky type. If he was the one that lit up this place and brought everyone here, she wouldn't be too surprised if he thought he was some hot shit right about now. Just as she'd brought a foot out to approach the man, a sudden pounding came from behind her, the ground almost shaking as well. Next came some thundering words and a sudden white light from her vision as her body was pummeled into the ground. A hefty weight overcame her, the pain not yet setting in from having a stone man nearly crush the life out of her. A sharp exhale escaped her lips and she cringed as the pain eased in. Her ears were ringing now, all the sounds around her melting into white noise as she tried to recollect her thoughts. Though her hands were unscathed due to her gloves, the bodysuit that set over her thighs and upper arms were littered with tears because of the rocks and dirt that had been slid against them. Her right elbow stung a fair bit and after lifting the scarf off of her head and back around her neck, she could see she was bleeding there already. By now, Raei understood who had tackled her, as the one pounding his face into the ground made it very clear. She had missed the reason why, though. The apologies annoyed her immediately, as did the pounding. "J-Just stop!" She growled in anger, the earth shaking pounds feeling as if they'd triggered a migraine already. "I don't know what your reasoning was for all that, but I request that you avoid crushing me with your hard body, Rock-Man! I am not made of indestructible parts! Understand I can break and be put to rest quiet easily, you hear!?" She'd no idea what kind of sentient creature this was... But if it did not understand what could hurt a mostly human being, it had a lot of learning to do...

"Uh... welcome." Anden said blankly, in clear confusion from the situation at hand. The man took a few steps forward and stood over Raei, bending a bit to offer her a helping hand.
"are you okay?" he asked with genuine curiosity.

"are you okay?" he asked with genuine curiosity. Raei's eyes were brought back to the man who she was originally trying to get to in the first place. Looking at his hand, she took it after a few moments and winced as she was brought to her feet. Her free hand felt over her torso where she felt there was indeed going to be some bruising near her ribs. Great. Taking a deep breath in and then out to calm her nerves, the long haired woman re-adjusted the mask upon her face and looked to Anden. "I'll be alright. I don't think anything is broken." She held back from giving the stone man a glare, lowering her gaze to the ground instead. ' Man... I went through a majority of my travels without tearing into my clothing and yet the second I get to a glimmer of hope, my clothing and dignity are slashed in an instant....'

It will not happen again. I should have thought more carefully before acting and I'm terribly sorry about this. I hope all of you will still accept me as your ally. I wish for nothing more than to help all of you survive against the thorns. I can be of help if you are still willing to give me a chance. I can control sound magic and use my sound magic to force thorns to attack me instead of those around me. My stone body and large sword allows me to defend against thorns for a long period of time, which can help all of you to attack them while I block the damage."

Her words made Pema realize how terribly he messed up. He looked over to Raei who he just tackled and shouted "I'M TERRIBLY SORRY! I shouldn't have tackled you! Please forgive me!" The golem monk got on his hands and knees and bowed in order to be polite, but he took the bowing a bit far. He took off his hat and slammed his head to the ground again and again so hard that it sounded as if he was breaking the ground beneath him. Pema answered Vel'Ari's question by saying to Raei "My intention was to save the life of the beetle that you were going to step on, but I should have found a calmer and less violent way to resolve that. I hope you aren't injured! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" He continued to say "I'm sorry!" over and over again and bow by slamming his head onto the ground. Vel'Ari was utterly dumbfounded at his jumping in to rescue a beetle of all things. She placed a hand to her temple, showing her irritation. She looked down to see him slamming his head on the ground and stepped back. It wasn't her place to tell him to stop. All she could do was groan at this person's childishness. Although, person was a bit of a stretch....

Poppy watched the sudden burst of action play out, remaining seated on the ground with confusion painted across her face. Everything had happened so quickly the bard was still fuzzy on the details of what exactly prompted the golem to tackle the other newcomer. Perhaps they knew each other and that was the rock man's way of greeting his friends? Whatever the case was, it seemed that there was little to no ill intent behind the action, so Poppy just smiled and began playing her lute again, this time a much more jovial tune than the one Delphi had overheard.

The upside to the situation was the fact the thing had manners. Thank the Gods for that one. Raei simply nodded to the man as acceptance of his apology and then turned to look at the entire group in detail for once. Ah, up close they all really did look quite... diverse. Not a single one of them looked the same. Not even the children. "Speaking of that... What is going on here?" Raei spoke up after Pema had finished speaking. "Why are all of you here together? By the looks of it, you all don't seem completely comfortable with one another, but maybe I'm the only one picking up on that because I'm not comfortable, myself..." Raei pursed her lips, internally scolding herself for rambling. "Anyway, what is it that you all know about these Thorns, and what is the course of action against them? I would assume our summoner-" Raei raised an eyebrow at Anden, "wouldn't get the attention of several random individuals if he did not have some sort of plan... That's, of course, assuming you all came here for the same reason." Raei hoped the 'leader' had thought that far ahead. Really, the woman just wanted to learn a little about what they were dealing with and how to get rid of it. She already was having an indifferent time even after only being here for a short while, so the sooner she learned some things and left was probably for the better. However... if this rock man were to aid them in their fight, perhaps staying beside them wouldn't be a bad idea.

Storm Fly's Eye Light Up As She Heard Nyle Say She Was A Fire Mage " Waaaaa Thats So Cool, What A Wonderful Power. Wait You Can Also Build Houses Too." She Hugs The Unexpected Women " You Are So Cool When I Grow Up I Want To Be Just Like You Nyle!" Still Hugging Nyle But She Looks Up And Stares At Nyle With Wonder Until She Heard, Nyle was frozen in place by the action. The hug made her think back to happier times, times when one such shorter being would come up every morning and give her a big hug before she headed off to do her own thing for the day. Even the words the smaller girl had uttered rung as familiar. 'I want to be just like Nylie when I grow up!' The small voice echoed in her mind, flitting across every raw emotion she'd mended over the past month. "O-oh, you..." She laughed in spite of her welling eyes. She had not meant at all to become so emotional, especially when she'd only just met everyone here. Her feelings betrayed her however, showing on her face as she scrambled through her mind for something to say that wasn't even more troubling. "Y-you're gonna get your nice clothes dirty! You've been able to keep clean all this time, d-don't want to get muddy from a hug!" Sure, the stains on her vest weren't exactly mud, but the poor girl didn't need to know that. She patted Storm's head once again, giving her right hand something to do as her left struggled between hugging back and merely patting the girl's arm. The loud noise snapped her out of her emotional stupor, kicking her back into reality. As she was squeezed by Storm during the action, she naturally turned them so her body was shielding the girl against whatever the commotion was about. As Storm muttered this, Nyle was able to see what the fuss was about. Another newcomer seemingly plowed through who she'd just welcomed- and Anden was already helping her to her feet. "Hmm, dunno, kid! She does look a little ache-y to me, huh?" She turned her body once again but towards who she remembered held everyone's well-being to the highest standard. "Hey Delphi!" She called out, but seeing that she was already at high alert, Nyle quieted her calls a bit. "What do you say we show this lady some of your Loukios hospitality, eh?" She ended her suggestion with a bit of a laugh, seeing the woman's rather stiff looking stance- she had to have been embarrassed over something.

The picture play of a human family ended, the images forming back into simple words on the page. "That story is a traditional poem from a very small village in northern Kasa. It means... well, the interpretation is entirely subjective, so it might not apply to you... But! No matter how much you and your family fight, or how savagely the thorns destroy civilization, just know that you'll always have a place with them. Even if..." Nursery Rhyme trailed off. Even if they've moved on. He didn't know the status of Leander's tribe, and he didn't want to ask. "Ooooooooh!" Leander breathed, leaning forwards as he watched the magical book. "This is nice, I like this!" He reached forward to touch it, but stopped himself as the tale ended, his look of wonder softening to a slight pout. A part of him wanted to demand that the small creature bring back the story, but he knew that would be rude. His hand fell back to his side and he tried to hang onto the memory of what he'd just witnessed to think of for future entertainment. His large frame stiffened, however, as Nursery Rhyme trailed off at the end of his speech. Leander's eyes watered again and he brought his head low, leaning his elbows on his knees and pretty much encompassing the small being in a tiny chamber of his own body, since the other was too small for him to physically hug without harming him. "Stupid dirt..." He muttered, covering his face with one hand to prevent the tears from falling onto his new found friend. "Keeps getting in my eyes..." As per usual, he completely ignored any discourse going on around him, preoccupied with his own thoughts and feelings.

As the stranger explained himself, Delphi nodded as the tension died down. Or at least she thought until the elven woman had lashed out at him causing a stir in the man. "Pema" repeatedly bowed while simultaneously burrowing himself in the ground further. She shuddered at the sight, not sure just what oddity they had encountered on their path. The man was continually carrying on in an incessant frenzy, making her rethink his claims as a monk entirely. The woman who had been abruptly tackled now stood in her place furious, and rightfully so if Delphi were to judge. As she peered at the female, she was by struck by the the woman's curved ears. The group had acquired another unit from highly different origins. It was fascinating to contrast the shapes and differences of the figures with one another, being as so many carried themselves in such an imposing manner. A familiar voice rang out, and Delphi shuddered at the tone. Nyle. It would appear the fire mage wasn't quite done with poking her nose in other people's business. Though as Delphi stood, stiff with her wand in hand, her cheeks flushed a deep scarlet at the thought of the woman possibly watching her spontaneous outburst. She drew a deep breath, trying to shake off any visible signs of her embarrassment before turning to face the brunette. She coughed into her fist, "I have already surveyed the situation and was preparing my approach," she assured, "You needn't worry about supervising my performance." With that, she strolled over to the newcomer and Anden. (( evan kisaka )) "Sir," she began, offering the same bow from earlier as she approached the man, "I have come to check on the bystander." Delphi turned her attention towards the hooded figure with her wand pinched between her fingertips, "As a practitioner of healing magic within the group, it is of importance I maintain the health of potential recruits. May I ask for your cooperation?" She flicked her wand, "Where does it hurt?"

Nursery Rhyme squirmed out from between the giant's figure. He was crying now, and Nursery Rhyme thought it was best that he release the emotions bottled up inside of him. He reached out and patted Leander's shoulder, hoping it would at least provide some comfort for his big friend. "It'll be okay, Lee," he said. "Perhaps when all of this is over, I can travel with you back to the mountains to find your family. I'm sure they'd have many tales for me to record!" He briefly thought back to Leander's amazement as he saw the words in Nursery Rhyme's book become a fantastical illustration. It made him happy to see such wonderment on his face. Nursery Rhyme wasn't completely sure of where his origins began, nor when it would end for that matter, but he knew that he would never grow tired of seeing the awe on other's faces. "Maybe one day, you'll have your own page in this book, yes?" Nursery Rhyme had been slightly disconnected from the world around him while he was interacting with Leander, so when he pulled his attention away from the giant to the people around him, he had noticed the size of their party growing ever so larger by the minute. He let out a breathe he hadn't realized he'd been holding. With so many guardians gathered, Nursery Rhyme felt the burden he thought'd he'd be carrying lift off his back like it was never there to begin with. He was certainly aware of the current limitations of his power, which is why he'd avoided fighting the thorns as much as possible by flying higher above the ground. If he found himself tired in the middle of battle, he'd be completely defenseless - not to mention reduced to the size of a house mouse. With this, he'd have a good amount of cover provided by his allies while he recuperated inside of the book. The book. he thought. I should tell them about my connection the book... Taking a quick glance at the people who had gathered and tugging on a strand of his hair, Nursery Rhyme decided he would wait until they moved on to the next step before informing the team. Well... particularly those he trusted. He spotted Panna off a shorts ways away. Back when there were less people, Nursery Rhyme had taken it upon himself to interject himself in-between the brewing tension between the man and their leader easier, though Nursery Rhyme was positive there was no ill intent behind either of their words. He waved a goodbye at Leander and walked over to Panna. "Hello, Panna! I am called Nursery Rhyme, in case you didn't remember. So," he said, eyes drifting off to the man's missing arm, "what do you think of Anden so far? Do you suspect he has other motives for calling us all here?" Nursery Rhyme wasn't entirely sure how to start a conversation with the man, and he was sure he'd been asked multiple times about his missing arm to the point of where it must've gotten tiring to explain. He thought he had asked some valid questions, though, and perhaps they would lead into further discussion. ((aLSO Evan , I hope you don't mind, but can I add light magic to Nursery Rhyme's list of poems in place of the fire magic? Since we now have two separate users for fire and ice magic, I thought adding this would help reduce repetition and make what the characters can do more unique. He would still be able to cast ice magic, though he would now have a different way of using it slightly beyond just lunging shards like I had planned, BUT I also made it so that he must meet a certain age requirement before being able to utilize the spell, which impacts how often he can use it.))

"As for my plan..." Anden paused, collecting his few thoughts on the matter "I hope to fortify this castle, and make sure it is a safe place to live - that way any survivors following the beacon can be protected here. But after that's done... I want to locate the source of all this. I was in the South when it began, and the thorns came from the North. When I traveled East, they came from the West. Whatever is causing this is further inland, and that's the direction I plan to go. It's practically suicide, but I think with the right people we can make this world worth living in again." "Sir," she began, offering the same bow from earlier as she approached the man, "I have come to check on the bystander." Delphi turned her attention towards the hooded figure with her wand pinched between her fingertips, "As a practitioner of healing magic within the group, it is of importance I maintain the health of potential recruits. May I ask for your cooperation?" She flicked her wand, "Where does it hurt?" "Oops." Anden took a step back with a meek smile. "I might have gotten carried away there - go ahead!" ((Evan I hope this is ok. If it isn't, disregard this response)) (( I would prefer a character that's taken somewhat seriously, seeing as how this doesn't exactly fit the theme of survival. If this character tries consistently to die, he will die. ))

"Oh Golly Yes I Wouldn't Want To Get Dirty But What About Your Clothes? Wait I Can Help You Clean It Up There Is A River Or Pond What Ever Its Called Just Down There" She Pointed At A Random Direction "We Can Clean Up That Dirty There, Just Like My Mum Said All Dirt Will Move With A Bit Of Elbow Grease" She Smile At Her. Nyle smiled at the old saying. She didn't think this would be a very good idea to do however, as she'd only just met everyone and wouldn't want to get separated. Despite this, she was appreciative of the girl's thoughtfulness. "I have already surveyed the situation and was preparing my approach," she assured, "You needn't worry about supervising my performance." With that, she strolled over to the newcomer and Anden. Her smile turned to a chuckle as Delphi acted just as she'd expected her to. It was a bit of a shame she was so high-strung, but it seemed to be her nature. People can change, she knew that much, so she didn't have a problem with continuing to put up with her for the time being. Oh, guess I'm going this way now...Nyle smiled at Storm's introduction, naiive as it was. Since she didn't want to get Delphi's attitude worked up again, she merely gave a light smile and wave. She wondered if they were interrupting the healing session, but hadn't had control of the situation in the first place, as she'd been dragged there by the girl. She didn't mind it at all, however- she was much more of a follower anyway. Even if the one who'd led her around was a child.
