"I guess what I'm trying to get at is.... There's a distinction between good and innocent. Innocent implies that you've done no wrong, but 'wrong' is a debatable topic in and of itself. People can be good and be far from innocent. Everyone makes mistakes, no one is pure. But in the case of the Thorns, they've taken the lives of people who had nothing to do nature's destruction, and therefore those people were innocent in that regard. The thorns kill indiscriminately, slaughtering anything and everything in their path and show no signs of stopping. I think its fair that we retaliate against that." Poppy began strumming her lute again. "I guess at the end of the day, there isn't really any solid answer... The thorns could be killing simply to defend themselves or it could be the work of someone evil with the desire to watch the world crumble. At the end of the day, its better not to focus on WHY they're the enemy, because if you dwell to much on it, it'll consume your every thought. And THAT could be more dangerous than anything the thorns could do." Poppy shut her eyes as she listened to the notes fill the air once more, letting out a deep sigh. "I don't know. I don't like to focus on the good and the bad. I prefer to stay in the moment, that way I don't think myself to death." She chuckled dryly Pema was impressed by the wisdom that Poppy was showing in her answer. After some hesitation Pema replied "I suppose calling all of nature innocent is an oversimplification, but perhaps by slaughtering nature we've unintentionally taught it to slaughter as well. Nature may just be the lesser of two evils. You raise a good point however. There is no way to excuse the actions of thorns. Killing indiscriminately is never the answer and to preserve life on the planet by retaliating is the only option we have. All forms of life, whether they are part of civilization or part of nature, must be protected." The monk looked up at the sky and felt foolish after Poppy pointed out that this kind of topic wouldn't be good to dwell on, because the person who created him used to tell him not to dwell so much on dark thoughts all the time. Pema said to Poppy "I have much to learn in the ways of the monk. To become a wise man one must question everything, but they must also prevent their mind from being corrupted by dark thoughts. Thank you Poppy for preventing me from going down the wrong path. You have helped to put my mind at ease." Pema was still not really over it despite what he said. This conversation only helped to put his mind as ease, but it didn't completely get rid of his worries. The stone man still wasn't sure about his own morality, but decided to drop the subject since Poppy recommended him to not dwell on it so much. Pema felt as if his creator was the only person on the planet who would know exactly what to say, but it was too late for that. Pema's creator had already passed away a long time ago. The bird on Pema's hand was startled by Leaner's shouting and flew off of his hand and onto a nearby tree. Pema faced all of the drama going on and asked Poppy "Do you think we should intervene? I'm not so sure if that child will be able to resolve this on his own. The words he's saying could be interpreted as a rather harsh accusation." The child he was referring to was Nursery Rhyme, unaware of what Nursery Rhyme really was.

Vel'Ari grit her teeth and glared at the childish giant before her. "d'ya know how hard it is for someone like ME to--" she cut herself off from her angry whispers and stood up, She took a finger to her temple and groaned. how annoying. This person was more of a child than the actual child of the group was. What a bother. She wondered if he could even contribute anything, or if he ever did be useful anywhere at any time. If there was someone out there that valued his presence, who themselves had a fully developed brain, she would be shocked. "What did you do to Leander? You realize he's one of the few people gathered here to help us battle the thorns, yes? Or are you purposefully trying to sabotage us after all?" Nursery Rhyme's words didn't carry anger, but they did have a certain tautness to them. He was perceptive, and thus was very aware of strong emotions in words. Ever since she'd arrived, Nursery Rhyme noticed that Vel'ari's words were laced with derision through and through. That's the reasoning behind why he had approached her earlier... to see if her contempt was directed explicitly towards the plants or to those that had gathered. It seemed to be both. "Answer the question." Speaking of the child. She watch the overprotective larva person try to calm down Leander, and she almost laughed. Shouldn't those roles be reversed? Nursery Rhyme's mother bear tone when aking about the manchild did win a chuckle from her. "Listed here, kiddo, I did nothing. I just didn't want this stranger feeling up on my arms. When I simply asked him what he was doing, he ran off and cried. Now please stay out of this, you don't have to handle an adult's problems yet." she spoke condescendingly, her polite manner of speaking dissipating with her patience. God, she really did hate everyone.

"Listed here, kiddo, I did nothing. I just didn't want this stranger feeling up on my arms. When I simply asked him what he was doing, he ran off and cried. Is that what happened? The pieces were beginning to align in Nursery Rhyme's head. Leander had never had the opportunity to explore outside of the mountainous region his race hailed from. He was most likely fascinated by Vel'ari's... natural beauty... and invaded her privacy. In this case, it hadn't appeared that she'd done any wrong, and she had no way of knowing how the giant would react. Now please stay out of this, you don't have to handle an adult's problems yet." she spoke condescendingly, her polite manner of speaking dissipating with her patience. Nursery Rhyme stared at Vel'ari for several seconds before turning his attention back to the hulking figure behind him. "Very well. I implore that you become more widely accepting of other cultures other than your own. You might learn a few things, plant." Nursery Rhyme made an effort to dig Leander out of the vine casing he draped over his body. While it relieved him to know that Leander wasn't physically hurt in any way and that Vel'ari didn't do anything malicious, he couldn't simply shake his suspicion of her. Leander was still curled up at the foot of the castle. Nursery Rhyme let out a long sigh. He wanted this conflict to be over. He also would've preferred that all of them be on the same page if they were going to be traveling together for an indefinite length of time, but there were just too many differences among the guardians. Perhaps they will all grow closer in the time it takes them to finally get to the root of the thorn problems. "I know you meant well, but some people don't like to be touched without warning, Lee. Next time, make sure you ask for permission, okay?"

She Started To Giggle " I Know, I Wonder Why My Mother Called Me That But I Can't Change It Now. Oh This Is Nyle She A Very Good Friend Even Though Ive Only Just Met Here." She Lets Go Of Nyle Hands To Cuddle Her Doll.
"Oh Golly, Thank You Very Much Loukios" She Smiled.
"I Would Love Too, Wait Do You Mind Nyle Wait We Should All Go Together And Meet Everyone. That Would Make Everyone Friends. Do You Know What, You Guys Are Not As Weird As I originally Thought" She Bursted Into A Fit Of Laughter "Right Lets Go And Introduce Are Selves To Those Strangers Over There" She Tried To Calm Herself Down From Her Laughter Fit To Make Sure She Looks Presentable. "Oh Wait They Do Seem To Be In A Bit Of A Heated Debate Right Now, It Would Be Rude If We Interrupt Them Wouldn't It?" She Turns To Look At Both Of The Women Too Find An Answer.

Anything for a teammate!!" Her attention was soon drawn to the commotion brought about by Leander, Nursery Rhyme and the...plant..lady that Poppy still didn't know the name of. She stood up from her spot on the ground, brushing away any excess dirt and smiling at the monk. "Yeah, why not! If anything, it'll better introduce you to your teammates! Plus I may have a song or two that'll lighten the mood~!" She winked as she began strumming her lute a couple times before heading towards the group. She began to play a very familiar tune, the Emotion Hymn, as she began to approach the three. She allowed the magic to flow through her fingers and giver her notes life in hopes that they would calm the nerves of everyone involved. It certainly calmed her's, after all. Once her song ceased she stood there in front of everyone and smiled. "Hiya! Is everything okay here?" She asked, genuinely confused on what had happened.

The girl proved to be rather excitable, and Delphi tilted her head, the corners of her lips curling "I'm weird? My my, I never considered myself the like. To me, everyone else seems so peculiar," she humored, a brief chuckle escaping under her breath. Even though the naivety of Storm arose fresh doubt and worried her mind, her energy was pleasant. "Ah, well..." Delphi surveyed the group, noticing the giant break into a... temper tantrum? Seeing the triclops break down into an emotional fit convinced her that he was currently not a prime conversationalist for the moment being, but luckily it would appear the other small figure had attended to him- albeit their stark differences in height were concerning. If Poppy was right however, then perhaps the towering man would be sure to watch his step with one as little as the latter.
Yet, the rugged man from earlier appeared to be approachable still. A strand of his hair just slightly draped across his tired eyes as the feathery adornment of his hat gently swayed to and fro. While his hair had mostly been that of chestnut, a small nest of silver rested in its side as though indicating age beyond his appearance. He resembled a wanderer of sorts, and Delphi raised an eyebrow upon noticing the features. Perhaps he had tales to tell of lands all about? As wide-eyed as Storm was, she would surely appreciate any... and Delphi was admittedly piqued as well. "The gentleman over there is still available," she pointed to his direction as she gripped the young girl's hand to lead the way.
"Greetings," she offered a slight bow as her hand was still joined with Storm's, seeing as she was not in a position for the standard salute. "I am Delphi Argyris from the Convent of Loukios. Storm, Nyle, and I decided it would be ideal to become acquainted with those we haven't yet. May we ask for your name?"

They even got a laugh- something she didn't expect at all. She was happy to continue accompanying Storm, and Delphi seemed to be in a good mood, so she followed behind as they approached the rugged man. She hadn't spoken to him yet and was very excited to ask about the hat. It looked to be worn through with a few holes, and even had a decorative feather- it was certainly a characteristic object, and she couldn't wait to hear about it. She didn't want to speak until he'd been ready to respond however, and merely waved his way with a smile when she was introduced by Delphi.

"And there he goes." Panna watched Nursery Rhyme depart to go and assist the triclops, however, he quickly drifted back into his own thoughts. He twirled a loose strand absentmindedly, once again considering what should be done with his hair, and then going back and thinking of how it had been worn before. His thought process had however been interrupted by the appearance of three of the younger recruits, not that Panna minded however. It was easy for him to get lost in his own thoughts, and if he was going to be spending his future time with company rather than in seclusion he would have to get use to being outside of his own head.
Panna's eyes widened, though his befuddled expression was quickly wiped away with a chuckle. "Why how courteous of you, missy. I'm Panna of, well, I sort of just wander about, you see? Not nearly as impressive, I know." Panna returned Nyle's wave and then observed the three once more, trying to take a guess at their ages. On one hand, he was shocked to see them here, yet on the other he was certain they probably thought the opposite of him; seeing him too old to be where he was. Panna wasn't that old yet, not even in his forties. Though his fading hair said otherwise...
"So! How can I help you kids today?"

He covered his head with his hands and shook slightly, clearly uncomfortable with the attention he'd brought upon himself. Nursery Rhyme's words, however, brought him out of his shell a bit, a confused expression on his face. "Ask for permission?" He whispered, speaking like this was a foreign concept. "But that would be rude, wouldn't it? Why would I do that?" The hymn seemed to calm the giant enough to turn himself so his back was to the wall now instead of the people brought into this 'conflict'. He blinked at Poppy, as though she'd just appeared out of thin air, and smiled broadly at her for a moment before her question registered. Cheeks cherry red, he shifted uncomfortably and twirled a vine around one of his fingers like he'd been caught doing something he shouldn't. "Raising my voice was wrong, I didn't mean to startle everyone." He mumbled to himself. "I just...do not understand, I suppose. I will try to....ask for........permission next time." The thought made his face scrunch up in a sour pout.

"How do you think we'll defeat them? Do you have any plan for the execution? Or are we really going in blind with no idea of what's ahead?" By the sounds of it, he too had no idea what they were up against. And if that was the case... She'd been better off going somewhere else for more information. This was going to be a waste of time. Her head tilted down, her eyes looking to the ground and then back up. "Who's children are those? Yours?" "What?" Anden was clearly surprised, but followed the genuine shock with a quick laugh "Haha, no... no they aren't mine." The thought of himself raising children was absurd. In this particular moment, anyway. "But, uh, for the thorns..." Anden began "I've noticed that the biggest attacks are always lead with roots... the really big ones. If all of the attacks are coming from inland, and all of the roots are coming from inland... What if the roots are all connected?" Anden posed his question, but continued before anyone could answer "I think that whatever they're connected to must be massive. If we can get far enough inland we should definitely be able to see where it's all coming from." It wasn't a solid plan, but it may have been the best possible bet when considering the situation. Nearby, the bristled horizon seemed to move more erratically in one spot. It was subtle and difficult to notice from this distance. (( Extremely rough write-up of our location: Granite castle is a towering fortress surrounded by three total walls. The largest wall has a one mile radius, and surrounds the outer yard, which is an empty field of grass with small ponds and old untended farms. The second wall surrounds the courtyard, which has a quarter mile radius and surrounds the ruins of several buildings which surround the castle. The final wall is the last defense around the castle keep, and has a very small radius. The inner courtyard contains only the keep and a few huts and stables for garrisoned soldiers. Outside of the third wall is a clearing that stretches for a mile in every direction before transitioning into dense forest. The castle its self sits directly atop a small hill, meaning that even if standing on the ground at the base of the keep, it is possible to see over the outer walls and into the distance.

As Storm Got Dragged Towards The Man By Delphi, Her Eyes Started To Widened As She Got Closer And Closer Towards The Man.
As The Man Introduced Himself To Storm, Nyle And Delphi, All Storm Fly Could Do Was Stare At Panna's Hat. She Was Completely Entranced By The Hat Alone And Blanked Out For A Few Seconds.
As Panna Said This It Snapped Storm Fly Out Of Her Trance To Run Up To The Poor Man And Excitedly Say " I Must Say You Hat It Wonderfull, Amazing, Fantastic! Erm I Mean You Have A Very Pretty Hat." She Blushed Slightly From Her Outburst Over The Mans Hat, She Was Worried She Might Scare Off The Man But Decided To Carry On Talking To Him And Answer His Question, If She Didn't It Would Be Very Rude And Her Mother Didn't Teach Her To Be Rude. "Oh Me And My Friends Here Would Like To Introduce Our Selves And Maybe Become Friends, If You Don't Mind Mister" She Scuffed Her Feet A Little And Tightened Her Hold On Her Doll A Little. "As Delphi Said My Name Is Storm Fly And I Think You Mentioned That Your Name Is Panna But I Guess Delphi Has Already Told You That, Look At Me Rambling On About Nothing" She Started To Laugh At The Awkward Situation She Had Placed Herself in. "I Would Also Like You Too Have A Very Good Day." She Stared At The Man And Gave Him A Smile.

When both the female healer and their dutiful leader denied parenting the children, it only further begged the question of 'Who did these children belong to'. It seemed as if she'd have to ask around some more if she wanted an answer, but when it came down to it, perhaps it didn't matter. Honestly, Raei just wanted to know so she could judge the fool who brought their kids on a trek to this castle.
"The roots?" As Anden explained, it made sense almost immediately, as scary as the thought was. A giant being with it's roots curling under and up to rid of everything in sight? The thought of it made her shudder. If that truly was the case, how were any of them expected to be able to take out such a thing? It would take an entire army... "Do you think we could make it that far?" Raei looked to see the other people within their party, squinting at all who'd stood around. She hadn't paid any attention to what was going on around her, seeing as the only one who had still stood to her side was Anden. "I guess the better question is what kind of powers these people possess..." Powerful or not, a group was better than Raei taking on a massive monster by herself. The likely reality of it left her skin with goosebumps.
"Perhaps I should introduce myself." Raei reached behind her pointed ears, pulling off the mask that hid the bottom half of her facial features. Now was the time to make connections and build friendships if they saw any hope to defeat this thing that was terrorizing their lives. Thrusting out her left hand, the woman smiled. "I'm Raei. I'm an Ice Mage, but I specialize in espionage. Hopefully my addition to this group will bring more luck to us." Raei then looked to the few surrounding the area. "Perhaps I should introduce myself to others as well..."

She's just as excited about it as I am."You heard the little lady. Just here to make friends!" She chuckled, swiping a hand across her face to remove some hair that had made its way there. She then stuck out her hand stiffly with the intent of a good shake. "Hope we'll get along well in the future." She'd have liked to ask a million things about his hat, but it didn't seem the time as there were two others with them who surely had conversational topics they'd be more interested in.

It was at this time that Nursery Rhyme spotted the stone-bodied golem that had approached with Poppy. "Hello. I am called Nursery Rhyme. Who are you?" Pema bowed and said "Greetings. It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm glad to hear this issue has been resolved. You handled yourself quite well young one. My name is Pema. I am a monk and I have come here to aid you in your quest. I excel at defense and my sound magic will hopefully prove to be useful as well." Immediately after introducing himself Pema heard an animal in danger in the distance with his sound magic. Pema explained "I apologize for ending our conversation so abruptly, but I must go now. There's something important that I need to do. It shouldn't take long so perhaps we could continue this conversation when I return." He left Nursery Rhyme and went into the forest to help the animal. Pema hoped that this wouldn't take long since he was eager to get to know all of the survivors before fighting alongside them. ((I'm gonna be gone until Monday so I recommend that no one interact with my character until I get back. Feel free to move my character to a different location while I'm gone if necessary.))
