oh my, oh my... heard about this on fanimeupdate, and I am actually pretty excited. If my parents let me... I might actually be able to go! I've never been to a con, though... And I'd probably be making the trip by myself...so... well, as I said, I know nothing about going to cons... oh man this means I need money... oh god I am rethinking this already... do you have to like, stay in hotels or whatever? how much are hotels... oh godddddd I am so sorry I am really slow to the ways of the world///

Typically you stay in a hotel, yeah, but a lot of the time people will share rooms and split the cost, so it could end up being pretty cheap. I've never personally been to a convention either, but a few of the others have, and Kisaka's been to this specific convention two or three times, so I'm sure we'll be fine.

I live close enough that I would just hang out for the day then go home. I wouldn't be allowed to let anyone else stay though, so sorry.

Darn it, I like all the way out on the east coast! Oh well, it sounds fun, I've been to a few cons but nothing really big or anything.

UPDATE ON OHAYOCON Ohayocon 2015 will have the official Fanime Meet Up. Currently a set time and location has not been decided. Other than bringing a sketchbook and whatever else you'd like, no special activities have been planned yet. However, I have booked a hotel room for the convention, for those interested in rooming with other Fanimators (to save money and also BONDING TIME!!!). If you're interested in getting a spot in the room (room is limited), then please shoot me a message here on the forum or on Skype and we'll see what we can do. The main thing is though, you must be 18 years of age or older. It's recommended you:Bring your own food (There is a food court, but it is over priced and almost constantly busy) Bring your own toiletries Information about the hotel booked:Hampton Suites Booked for Friday and Saturday night, departure on Sunday. 199/night not including taxes and fees charged by the hotel Specific information about the convention can be found at their website here: ohayocon.org/Prices for a badge as of 2015 are as listed: Weekend: $60 Friday Only: $35 Saturday Only: $40 Saturday and Sunday: $45 Sunday Only: $10

I'll see how what my work schedule will look like when the time gets a bit closer, but I probably will not be able to just take off as I think itll be super busy at that time. ;;;; gah I want to goooooo

Planning planning planning is good good good, because my cosplay plans revolve around this and Ohayo is my next upcoming con. I don't know a whole lot about Ohayocon's normal layout as this years was my first but when i've been there the hall that is adjacent to the food court is generally pretty quiet/sparsely occupied. That's really the only good suggestion I can think of, there are also outside areas but ew outside also one of them is on top of a parking garage and is a bit of a walk through the con (you gotta go through one of the glass tubes that leads to the gccc so even tho its a very quiet large area its a little bit much) If we need snacks brought to the meet up I can handle that, I'll just need to know what I should bring. (i dont really care about like how much because if i get extras i can eat them..or my brother can...like he does..with everything)
Also for those getting badges you should look into pre-regging theyre $20 cheaper until the 15th at which point the are $10 cheaper. but any amount cheaper is still kinda aight.. (i dont wanna buy a badge cause i dont do anything at conventions regularly that would require me to get one but this might be useful for those that want one)
