((I misjudged the approach that would be taken to this roleplay, so I apologize in advance for not having proper communication and leaving it so blank with not much to work off of. I will fix this now and hopefully this will help this move along a lot quicker. Please re-read everything and give it proper thought so as to prevent any issues arising in the future. ))
It was dark and it was cold, the lighting in the area flickering ever so slightly. The torches were soon to disperse, having been lit for such a long time already. In fact, it's really amazing they had kept up this long. In the darkest corner of the murky place was a box made of fairly large metal pillars. By the construction, you could tell it was made to contain something, something that you'd normally have trouble containing. There was a small door in the front with several locks and chains to keep it shut and unmoving, however if you looked close enough you could tell they all had the same keyhole. Inside the cage, however, was something not so intimidating.
Within the depths of the room, in the cage, lay a person, arm outstretched from a gap between two of the bars. They looked set on trying to obtain something that lay outside of the cage, but to no avail, as they took their arm back and leaned their face against the bars. A soft sigh slipped from between their lips and they scooted to the corner in which had the most light. From there, you could make out the details of the person's face. Long brown hair dipped off their shoulders, a feminine face accompanying it. They wore a long dress, though tattered and ripped at the sides and at the end especially. It was filthy, the ground beneath them coating it every time they made a move. They wore no shoes, but had on stockings that went far up the leg, also nearly black with soot and mud. Pale was their complexion, signs that they hadn't eaten in a while, and by following their sad gaze, you could see the last glimmer of hope they had. A key, on the floor, but much too far away from the cage to even be considered that the person had a chance to get it.
"Why did this have to happen to me.." A raspy yet high voice came from the person, identifying herself as the female she was. Her eyes shut and she let her body go limp against the bars as she laid there. How long had it been since she was left here alone? How long had it been since the one responsible for this had been killed, leaving the only chance of her survival on the floor feet away from her. How long would it be until her likely corpse would be found by any brave adventurer? She didn't know at this point, but what she did know was that it would be unlikely for her to ever see the light of day and the great outdoors once more. She settled on praying to her God, hoping once more that he would help her in her time of need like this. She needed it.
The area of which my character is in a privately monitored underground dungeon-like area. It's rumored to be dangerous, but in all actuality it's not too much so. The man who was in charge of the area was murdered but it was never anything that was addressed on the surface, due to the murder happening in the dungeon below. The whereabouts of the area are below the town, among a confusing route of underground tunnels. It can be found if you're looking for it. Though there is not public knowledge of the place, by talk of mouth it can be found out about easily.
My female character is not super well known on the surface, having worked within the gates with her mother before her capture. My character tended to the gardens and helped the farmers, but when her disappearance has come up, most wrote it off as she'd possibly gotten killed when she'd made a venture out to a farmer outside the walls. Her mother mourned but soon got over it when her husband ushered her to. Not many(?) know she still lives, or why she was taken in the first place, which is maybe even more mysterious then everyone's acceptance of her death/disappearance?
The female girl has not been fed for a while since the man who was in charge of the area, who'd kept her alive, died. She is unaware of anyone else knowing of this place and believes she is doomed to die of starvation unless someone else finds her.
"I Want To See The World!"
Time Period: FANTASY Medieval
Setting and Area:
Takes place in a large town known by the name of Indra, fairly populated with a good amount of distance away from the bigger cities. It has several smaller towns and farms surrounding the area, providing Indra with plenty of connections and resources. However, they are not used too frequently so Indra prefers to depend on it's own sources from within the walls. Indra is not the most popular of towns, but it has been seen as one of the more secure ones from the surrounding area. Crime has seen to be at a low within the walls, or at least quickly acted upon when detected. Villagers feel relatively safe within the walls and even outside them they felt as if they did not have much danger.
There's a small brittle brick lining around the outside of Indra which is more for show than anything else. In all honesty, if anyone really posed a threat to the walls of Indra, they would come crashing down in an instant with a few cannons. However, being a somewhat peaceful sounding town, the likelihood of that was low.
The homes on the inside were fairly well put together and the mayor of the area lived in the biggest tower, but he was a rather indirect one, having his lower ranking men take out his orders and appearances. That being said, no one really knows if he is the one who directly controls the enforcers within the walls or if he has another in charge of the disciplinary actions.
The guards and rule enforcers of the town are rather lazy, and are often seen goofing around versus doing any actual working, yet when they do see criminal activity they are quick to go overboard on how they react. They are very reckless but not many have rose to say as so, fearing the consequences of it.
There are several underground paths, most of which are known by the enforcers and some by adventurers themselves. Some of these are used to hold criminals and starve them to death when they are too lazy to hold a proper execution. As said before, the enforcers are very lazy and find it much easier to have them go into the depths to slowly go mad by themselves or with other unfortunate jail-mates and to starve. If the jails were to start to overfill, that is when they'd hold a public execution and torture festival. However, those are rare.
The underground paths are not very heavily monitored, only one guard standing by each section of jail cells, but none by any entrances to the underground pathways as a whole. There are a lot of pathways that split off to different towns, but are not used for anything and are often dark, dank and have creatures lurking within them. That's not to say that there aren't interesting and valuable things below, though. There are also a lot of mining opportunities but the miners are much too afraid and inexperienced to handle creatures, so those areas are avoided until cleared out by order of the mayor when they start to run low on resources. Oftenly enough, adventurers find those areas before any real order is put out to search them thoroughly.
While crime is low in Indra, and the townsfolk work together well with the mayor's wishes, there is still a lot of holes in how the town functions. All actions and crime is not properly monitored, but until it effects and endangers the whole town specifically, within their knowledge, it is unlikely to be fixed.

Role-Play procedure:
If your character is within the same area as another and is going to communicate with that person, post back and forth. If your character leaves the area and you do not say that they come back, you will be let out of the posting order until you let yourself back in. This is kind of hard to explain but I'll do my best. Basically, don't hold up the RP. If your character is talking with another, stick to an order in which everyone replies to one another routinely. Once your character leaves or decides to communicate with someone else outside of that posting order, start a new posting order or excuse your character to do his own thing and enter back in when you wish to. If your character enters into a room where they will communicate with others, thus changing the posting order to include your posts in a timely and understanding manner, make it obvious. Mention names and places to identify your character so you're not skipped.
No God modding, no power playing, absolutely no meta-gaming, and please keep auto-hitting to a minimum. If you're worried about your post, just ask the other members involved to get an opinion. If you feel you know the character enough, you can make educated guesses but prepared to be asked to change your post it if you do not follow the rules and guidelines set. Derailing is optional, for as there is not a huge plot here just yet. The only thing that is set here as a plot is that my character has gone missing and no one cares. She is not super powerful or super interesting, but she's obviously done something to make her where she is now. If you have ideas for a more stable plot, I'm all ears, but do not force it into the story without consulting me first, please.
