Clara instantly rose from her chair. This can't be happening. She couldn't have gone to have fun just so that she would die by the hands of some crazy murderer. Before she left the dining room, she slid a small steak knife served with her meal into her coat pocket. She hoped that would at least help her a little bit before she would bite the dust. After that she locked herself in a nearby bathroom privy to the conversations of the patrons inside the room next door.

After the last few shuddering gasps of air left Candice, she breathed normally as she dabbed her eyes with a soft stroke and pat. Joelle lowered her arms, letting Candice turn comfortably towards the new acquaintances. They both pondered over Eli's suggestion. It was a very strategic move, but at first, Joelle wondered just how serious the murder was. Maybe it was just a scare, just to keep the passengers on their toes and play around with them in the form of some malicious joke. Or, in the worst case scenario, the murderer had a vendetta against the crew and the captain, so at the risk of the lives of everyone on the ship, they would kill off every living crew member and let the passengers die at sea. As Joelle's thoughts grew more and more morbid, she snapped herself to reality, squeezing Candice's hand. It was not just a symbol of reassurance, but also a coping mechanism so that both of them would be at the same level.
Joelle studied Eli before she spoke. He definitely commanded authority with his presentation. As formal as he presented himself ever since they met, she doubted that he had any ulterior motives, especially since his suggestion was loaded with facts that would be helpful in this situation. For the rest of the people she met, she could not say just yet, for one night was not suitable for a judge of character. But in these rough times, she would just have to go with her gut and trust his words, for the sake of her lover and herself. "Alright. Shall we make our own way off, or should we band together? There is safety in numbers more than often."

Eli nodded slightly while he'd never been one for socializing in a situation such as this, while 2 heads are good, more is highly favorable. "I believe in a situation as hectic as the one at present it certainly would be better for as many of us as possible to stick together. A lone killer is more likely to take on a single person than a group of people." Eli ushered toward Archimedes issuing him to stand. As he rose beside Eli, Eli spoke. "I cannot say with certainty, but unless the killer we are facing in this situation is insane or considerably strong, its unlikely they would attempt to combat someone such as my brother Archimedes. I trust neither of you two ladies are such extraordinary actresses. As one would have to be to put on such a spectacularly believable performance." Eli motioned toward his brother, who began nervously fidgeting with his tie, and himself as he spoke his next sentence. "I, of course, cannot make you believe neither one of us are the culprit, however I give my assurance that Archimedes and I are in no way guilty. My concern right now is not to play a blame game, but to get out of the midst of this chaos." Eli sighed slightly looking at the others at the table, observing the absence of Clara. Eli noted this but decided it better not to mention it. "I cannot attest to whether our other companions would venture to join us or not." ((Also I drew some huge nerds))

"I feel like they were murdered with poison, then made it look like they were killed by asphyxiation post mortem," said Charlotte to the others, while swirling her glass of bordeaux. The others looked at her with shock because of her brutal statement. "What? I watched a lot of murder mysteries growing up. To think that I would be a part of this." She headed back to her room to cool off.

Eli looked to the woman as she spoke, this Charlotte gave of a rather unpleasant demeanor, sounding as if she were completely concerted over this. He gave a very miniscule chuckle as she walked off, her words falling flat to him. Eli gave Archimedes, who's nervous shaking became highly noticeable, a slight slap on the arm before he filled the silence. "Well then, it appears that she's out. Anyone else interested in joining us?"

Artis exited her dorm. She had stayed in her dorm the entire voyage up until now, only leaving for sustenance. The redhead glanced at those before her "Hello all" she said politely "I am Artis Conroy, it is a pleasure to meet you." She saiid to nobody in particular. "Did anything happen?" she wondered aloud

Joelle noticed the new addition of Artis to the little group that had just formed. "Well Artis, I'm sure you had just heard the news over the PA. There's been a murder on this very ship, and probably multiple victims. Now we're trying to decide a course of action." Candice kept her eyes on Artis, not sure what to think of her as of yet. She was very much like herself, and a younger member of the ship. It was important to keep her safe, but she was not sure exactly how much she had to do with the murder. If she did not see or meet the person before the announcement, they were most likely a suspect. But she had to keep these thoughts at bay. Being suspicious was not like her.
"For now, we're planning to group together and keep each other safe until we have more information. We must prepare if the murderer strikes, and seeing as how we are far away from land, it is very likely that the murderer is still on this ship." Joelle looked down at Candice, who seemed a little unnerved, and looked back up. While it may have been naive to accept someone to the group who showed up out of the blue, there was no evidence that she played any part in the affair, and being a girl who was younger than most, there was the chance that she could be a victim if no one was there for her. "If you want to, then please join our group. We need all the honest people we can get." Joelle felt like she had taken leadership, even though Eli was the real driving force behind all of their plans.

Clara keep her ears peeled at the news, assuming they probably thought she was going to betray them. After collecting herself, she removed herself from the bathroom and made her way to the dining room table, sitting down in a spare chair.
"I'm in." She solemnly stated. She'd sneaked into enough horror movies as a teenager to know going alone would not be a good idea. "I apologize for my absence." There was no ulterior motive here: she just wanted to survive.

Candice shuffled and changed her glance over to Clara. Never before had she felt like she couldn't trust anyone, but survival now started to mean a lot to her. She blinked and then realised that everyone else was probably thinking the same thing. For now, they had to band together, no matter what the circumstance. They were just letting her into the group, not promising their friendship. That had to be earned, and so did trust. Joelle smiled, holding Candice in closer as she noticed how uneasy she was. "That's perfectly fine, miss. Maybe we should find a safe place to rest for tonight. We could return to our cabins, but then that would separate us. If anyone has any ideas, pitch them forward," Joelle said, brushing her hair out of her face and standing tall.
