Okay, this is probably super unoriginal but we all love a good murder mystery, so why not put it on a boat?
Also this is the first time I've done something like this, so hopefully it won't get out of hand.
Plot
The heavily-advertised cruise ship known as Modest Majesty was set to have her month-long maiden voyage, and as luck would have it, you were one of the few people who set foot on this magnificent liner. Whether you had the money for it, the luck to win a ticket, or loved ones who gave you the gift of a lifetime, you had nothing else on your mind but partying with a lot of other people in style. The night soon arrived, and everything went off without a hitch. Three hours out at sea and you mingled with a group of people who you almost considered friends.
And then you heard the news from the crew. Several of the chefs had been murdered. Many people on the ship fell into a state of fear mixed with suspicion. In the dark night, land was hard to see, even on the horizon, which of course meant that in all likeliness, the murderer is still on board. With no option left, you have to rely on the friends you made on the ship, though you aren't too sure whether or not you can trust them...
Rules
Pretty much everything covered in the General Roleplay Rules, but also keep in mind that since this is a murder mystery, your character may get killed. But I will make sure to keep it fair, and I won't axe off anyone who only has one character. Also for the sake of keeping this somewhat grounded in reality, no magical powers, please.
EDIT: I forgot to mention, you can have a maximum of two characters to roleplay. No roleplaying NPCs.

Setting
The Modest Majesty has a maximum passenger capacity of 800. As well as the cabins, there are several other on-board facilities such as the dining room, the buffet restaurant, the outdoor swimming pool, the spa, the lounge, the casino and the main hall where dances are held. This is a rather small liner, so there aren't that many families with small children on board, but there is no law or rule saying that they aren't allowed on board.

Personality: Nervous, self-conscious, trusting, wise in some respects, phlegmatic, current and up to date with new trends, and she can be stubborn if she's standing up for the right cause.
Background: Born as the oldest child of Cherie and Stuart Webber, Joelle was raised alongside her brother Phillip in a rather stable household. She grew up feeling unsure about herself, and a lot of that did have to do with her sexuality. She found herself growing fond of her best friend at the time, Candice Andrews. One day, she confessed her love, and Candice soon realised her own feelings, which led to the two of them being in a relationship.
Other: In the original story she is in, she is 17, but since it was set in 2011, she would now be 20.

Background: Born into the family by Martha and Owen Andrews, Candice had her older sister Vivian and her two younger brothers Ethan and Felix so she was never lonely. From the beginning, she always seemed to love love. As she got older, she even dreamed of becoming a marriage celebrant so that she could see others express their love for one another and help them join together in a sacred vow. However, she was confused on what meant to herself, until Joelle told her how she felt about her. Candice decided to try being together to see how it would work, and quickly the two of them fell deeper in their affections, and now they are a lovely couple.
Other: Just like Joelle, I have aged her up from 17 in the story to 20 for this roleplay.
