I noticed this place hasn't been very active in the past few days. Maybe this will spark some sort of conversation? What's your favorite fanime? Or alternatively, what fanime are you looking forward to the most? (This can also include any other original animation that isn't really considered to be a 'fanime.') I'll be honest, I'm looking forward to my own fanime project. I just think it would be so satisfying to finish it and showcase it to everyone.
But enough of that, I really enjoy Bloody Mary MDD by BlackWorufu. I just find her polished art style satisfying to the eyes. Story wise, my absolute favorite is Project: Unknown by CassirollChan. I like her art style too and I still find her series attention grabbing even though she doesn't really animate her story. (If you haven't seen it, go look it up. I was hooked.) A fanime I, and I'm sure many others, are looking forward to is Terra Lucis by MsIlluna. So far, everything about it seems perfect. The previews seem so professional, and the voice actors I have heard are phenomenal. I really don't know how she finds the time to color in all of those frames with such minute detail... so if you want to tell us, Arenia, that would be fantastic.
Also, if anybody knows of any really good web comics out there, I'm all ears. I'd like to find something somewhat productive to do instead of staring at my screen blankly waiting for messages.

Now that I think about it, it's really hard to choose a favorite. I never have a favorite anything for that exact reason. :/ In terms of genuine entertainment I'd have to say My Jungle Book Your Year since it's actually funny (and a little dramatic somehow) with a full fifteen episodes. There's also the ever-present Nyan~ Neko Sugar Girls for a more ironic type of a fun. There are a few things I'm looking forward to, but I think what I'm anticipating the most is something that will come out of nowhere and surprise me. I don't know that I could choose a favorite for story, since most are so unfinished. In general I'm more drawn to darker themes, which are pretty scarce in fanime. I'm not talking about that 'dark' twist that everyone's working into their shows these days, either... Oh, and Blonde Sunrise is a pretty cool comic if you haven't read it already. There's meant to be a fanime running alongside it, but that's still in progress.

Hmm, in terms of art I'm definitely very drawn to Kiyokiins's style recently, the newest stuff coming from the creator looks pretty fantastic art-wise and animation-wise~ I've tried getting into Project: Unknown but the story has been rather confusing to me and at some points I've just completely lost track of what was going on, I think because of all the jargon?? @@ I'll probably give it a rewatch though over break and just watch everything consecutively C: But I'm also having trouble with my favorite story in a fanime hm... My Jungle Book Your Year is probably just my favorite overall favorite amalgamation of characters, dialogue, flow, etc. although that's not really a story thing either haha. This is difficult! Okay okay can we address this maybe in another thread: In general I'm more drawn to darker themes, which are pretty scarce in fanime. I'm not talking about that 'dark' twist that everyone's working into their shows these days, either... Because this is a definite thing that has been happening and I'm kind of curious as to why. It kind of drives me nuts too because nobody has really done it well yet. Not saying I don't like deep themes or dark things because I do, but I'm just kind of not enjoying the new trend of forced darkness in fanime that I'm seeing @@ OKAY! BACK ON TRACK lol. Fanime I'm looking forward to? Well definitely Future Agents, all of the stuff art-wise and animation-wise I've seen in updates looks fantastic and the theme is a lot different than what's prevalent in fanime so I'm very excited to see how it plays out. I'm also now looking forward to the Eternal reboot, I'm reaaaally interested to see how Melody is doing things 6-7 years later and it honestly makes me smile that she is animating again after so long. (Aasdfadsf thank you by the way Pilot ffff! ;7; Haha the secret is I don't have enough time which is why it takes so long orzz, I will have more time over break and next semester though~) And I second Evan's webcomic suggestion for Blonde Sunrise by Mana. It's an interesting read and the characters are a lot of fun C:

Ahh, arenia, I completely forgot about Kiyokiins! I love that series too. Also, thanks for taking interest in my project. Another fanime project that hasn't really seen too much attention is Gear Babies. The creator is actually a good friend of mine whom I've met a couple times in person. She originally created the movie Gear Babies back in 2009. Since then, she has improved immensely and is currently planning a remake of the original movie. The original was uploaded in separate parts and had more views, but the full movie is now in one video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkCL6NO1Ttg I wish it had more acknowledgement because I found it to be a gem. Very different from other fanimes. (And it's based off of Gears of War!) And here is the new trailer too: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkCL6NO1TtgI read the first chapter of Blonde Sunrise, but she had a long hiatus and I forgot to check back. I'm probably so far behind. D: And Evan, I agree. I'd like to see some more dark fanime. The dark twist is a nice kicker, but I agree that something else would be nice. :

I feel so out of the loop. ;__; We need a directory post somewhere with fanimators channels and their series links! (I would totally volunteer to manage it?) All of the ones I would mention are as ancient history as my account is. However, I can at least mention I'm soooo looking forward to Future Agents and Terra Lucis! If I'm not mistaken, Lucent Souls is planned to be animated? Because if so I'm eager to see that one too. Ya'll give me time to get finances straight I'm going to hop back into this animation game! >

Ahh yes, that is a very good list. It'd be cool if you made one, Nuci. Of course, you don't have to though... unless you really want to. I'm pretty sure Lucent Souls is going to be animated. I don't know how much progress she's made with it since she's stuck in a little rut right now.

Back in the day.... I really enjoyed Elemental Goddess back in the day (it also helps I was in a Sailor Moon kick and had just finished 2 seasons of it) and Eternal was another one that was on my top, but maybe that's cause it was one of the firsts... I also cannot forget Zayane on YouTube with her own series of characters. She never posted episodes of anything, but she used to do a lot of animations and had a webcomic up on her deviantArt.
As of right now though... Future Agents is what I'm most excited about. In terms of Fanime in general, I don't actually much anymore. A lot of what I kept finding was the Parody Fanime that quickly got old and unfunny to me.

Oh! Thank you Evan I never saw that list! I remember Elemental Goddess and Eternal. I also remember Guardian Angel that my friend Lotty was making, I was super excited but she just came in at the wrong time. v.v That was back when everyone was on a tearing down spree because "lol too many magical girls". I also remember Marim's show I just don't remember the name. The one that was like Nanoha? Ai....something. Oh man so many memories XD And yeah, I'm trying help encourage MissTerra. I know how painful those ruts are, and she's got such beautiful designs I'd love to see her series succeed. ;__;

Ah yeah, Lotty! I remember her series. She had such potential, she was seriously talented. Dunno what she is up to now though....
Marim too, I almost forgot! Good times, man... Too bad all them people grew up and left the crowd. It certainly doesn't feel the same like it used to.

Too bad all them people grew up and left the crowd. It certainly doesn't feel the same like it used to. Lotty went to Uni, and there was a lot of bullying in the fanime realm so around the time she was leaving a lot of us were because it was getting too stressful. She's working on stuff though, off/on, she just doesn't have much time anymore. As for Marim I don't keep in contact with her personally so I have no idea. ;w; Zayane's busy too I barely get to talk to her anymore. Chii is still around she's just not doing much in the way of animating, but she's fairly active on DA. Cookie's on tumblr and facebook, watching movies all the time LMAO Man, I miss the days before the drama stuff though. It was really fun back then. I dropped off the face of the internet for a couple of years too thanks to college/work/life, but I'm attempting to make my way back. Unfortunately, it gets harder to have such time consuming hobbies as we grow up. But I still really love drawing and sharing my characters and such, I don't think I'll ever outgrow it. <3

Yeah, I was able to stay in contact with Zayane and Cookie, and we chat very rarely, but they are in fact still alive hehe. But yes, drama was no fun at all so I'm glad it's all boiled down to nothing more or less. It was better this way, after all. Yeah, it happens. I kinda poofed for a while (and with Mojocrystaltokyo account being suspended for over a year, it helped me stay gone for a while, after all). I do as well, and it's a big part of my life, even if I don't always have time for it. Living with roommates and having two jobs can take up a lot of time after all. Not looking forward to schooling next year too....!

I also poofed away for a long time, and came back under a completely different name. I snuck up on a few old friends, but pretty much let people come find me...
I remember Nuci found me on dA because one of my submissions had my name on it and she recognized it. That was the day I realized I probably shouldn't put my full name on the internet. lol
Kisaka, why was your YouTube account suspended for over a year? I don't remember that... but then again, it may have been during the time that I was gone.

YOU TALK LIKE IT'S BAD I RECOGNIZED YOU I honestly had stumbled across you before then but I didn't want to be like "HEY YOU" since you were obviously trying not to be... known. XD On topic though, I just found this person with a series called 20 Galaxies Anyone heard of it? Seems nice.

She has her webcomic 20 Galaxies that she's making into an animation series if you want to read the webcomic now while you're waiting for the first episode. It looks really promising, she even has a little prologue-type scene that she finished that looks really great ^^
