Let's not have the folks going to Ohayocon. There's a few of us from The american Northeast, and it'd be great to meet all of you in person. So let's brainstorm location and times. c:
I'm going to Genericon (an inexpensive con located in Troy, NY) and Connecticon (a medium sized convention in Hartford Connecticut) but there may be other cons out there we can meet up at.
For reference, I live in Upstate New York.
We could also meet up at Mitsuwa or spend a day down in NYC, though I'd avoid events there, since it gets really costly. Let's here what you guys think!

There's also Toracon in Rochester is coming up in April and I am attending that as well as Genericon so that is also an option.

The fanimators that I met in Ohio seem like they favored meeting at Otakon in Baltimore Maryland next year and this would be really convenient for me as well. I discussed this with my mom and she said that she and my dad would be willing to rent a hotel for a weekend so that we (the fanime group) could have the entire house to ourselves for a weekend. This way we wouldn't have to pay for a hotel and my house is within driving distance from Otakon so I could drive us to the convention or maybe we could take a bus. Also at my house I could provide real food and not frikin buddy bars. Oh god the buddy bars........

This would even work on days not during Otakon, if we were to meet at DC or something and then take the metro to our house. This way it could last longer than just a weekend. Otakon is kind of pricey and considering the other meetup, we didn't really stay at the con itself for a very long time. It just depends how many people would rather go to Otakon or just spend the time to hang out. We would just have to know which time is most convenient for as many people as possible.

If you plan this really early for next year and I can work on saving money I may be able to come! Then again though, that depends on dates. It may be inconvenient for me. Considering it would probably need to be at a time when I have my holidays from school or something because of flights. If all else fails, I could always do a small meet up with a bunch of people maybe next year if I have enough money to fly over there at that time.
;; I don't want to be in Australia TAKE ME WITH YOU~~

I'm pretty sure most people would be off from school / might be able to take off from work around summertime? Going to a convention is just a formality anyways (seeing that you guys had way more fun goofing around in the hotel room). If we could find interesting things to go out to do during the time we stay there it would most likely be just as fun as well as much cheaper. That said, summer seems like a solid time frame most of us will be willing to go, I will at least be available depending on what days I will attend my summer classes.
