In the Skype group, we talked about how the meet up could be in July or during the first week of August. I'm fine with it being in early June (as long as it'd be in the first two weeks since these plane ticket prices sTOP ESCALATING FOR NO ONE). If it's in July/August the prices would definitely be higher, so in the end that's still more money to save anyway. In addition, school might start for some people in mid August. Last year, high school started August 4th for me, but since I'm graduating this year the college start date might be a little later, possibly September.
As for a meet up over winter break, that could turn out to be fun xD We could exchange our Secret Santa gifts in person lol. I think it'd be pretty awesome to spend Christmas with you guys, but I know some people may prefer being with their family for the holiday, so idk how many people would attend. If it's in December, that's 10 months to save. That's also like $300 plane tickets >_> I think a DC meet up would be better in December.
I can go to either DC or Pittsburgh though ^^

I'm already going to CTcon and Genericon, so I guess if anybody else goes we can turn it into a mini meetup. As for the larger meetup, I'm fine with both Pennsylvania and DC, though I think I'd rather DC. You can't cook your own food at a hotel and, I'm a three homecooked/square meals kinda gal. Meanwhile, here's a bit more info on Knight Realm. KR meets once a month and runs from Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon. To play your first game Costs twenty dollars, which includes a sleeping area and Saturday night feast. Food is also sold in game. You're pretty much given more than enough gold to cover your other meals, but you can also bring your own food and earn even more gold. If you do not want to make your own character, you can choose to NPC. Basically, a marshal will give you a several different roles to play throughout the game and dress you up for each one, so you don't need a costume. www.knightrealms.com/main-menu/new-players/206-your-first-event.htmlHere's some info for your first event www.knightrealms.com/documents/rulebook/html/knightrealms-rulebook-core.htmlAnd this is the rule book. It does not need to be read back to front, but if you're interested you can check out the character classes and races. People from all walk for life play KR- We have kids who play as well as several senior citizen, we have players that are students, computer programmers and even cops. If you live close enough to make the pilgrimage I'd love to see you there!

Okay so I thought a lot about this trip and I just want to throw down some needed suggestions alright okay: Number 1 [ Too soon? ]
A lot of you already admitted summer of this year may be a bit short notice. Let me assure you that it is. Because we are fresh out of the previous meetup, the few who went as well as the rest of us are really eager to see each other again or for the first time! Even though the time frame we set seems far away, it's way too early to consider for the next meetup. (Trust me, if I could hop on the next plane northward to see you guys, I would. But it's not that easy.) I think we should space these things out to a year and continue having them from now on once a year around the same time. All that we need to do is set things up to make things more convenient for everyone who wants to attend, but for now, let's leave it to 2016? Maybe? Number 2 [ What time should it be? ]
What time should it be? We should center this time around those who are flying in; they would be paying the most for this so it's necessary we're conscious about them. I did some digging around to find out the best times to fly: June and July seem to be the cheapest months to travel in, and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday are the cheapest days to fly. So, Saturday to Tuesday? Wednesday to Saturday? these are time frames we should consider. Also cool thing to look at is this, this tells you a few thing about what times are best to fly as well as the best times to purchase tickets
Number 3 [ Place? ]
A lot of us seem to be leaning towards a hotel in Pennsylvania or in DC, according to the poll the majority of us agree with the hotel. It's a good midpoint for a lot of you so I do think it would be the best destination, but where in Pennsylvania are we talking about? The state might be close enough for you guys, but we do have to consider those of is traveling grater distances. This also plays into the same reason why this trip would be too soon. I also heard that using bigger airport generally cost cheaper than smaller airports.
So, whats the biggest airport in PA?
right here. Philadelphia. If you guys want to find a hotel nearby this airport, please be my guest.
Number 4 [ What I suggest ]
Hotel near Philadelphia, June or July of 2016 on a Saturday through Tuesday or Wednesday through Saturday
It gives people plenty of time to save up for the trip, it's in summer so most people won't be bothered with school or taking off work, the weather is fair enough for everyone, and it's the cheapest time to go! This means a lot more people will be able to attend!! We want this to be grand right? The more the merrier!
_____________________________
obviously this time won't be perfect with everyone, but it's the best I can think of at the moment. Still open for more suggestions because there might be major flaws I'm missing, but I want to organize this the best way I can.
let's also think rationally here. Most of us are college students, still in high school, or just newly employed and need cash to support ourselves. Money is a major issue.

If we were to do this annually, then the next meet up would be in January of 2016. If we're talking prices, tickets are generally cheaper after the holiday season, around $150 - more or less - in the months of January and February. That's also something to consider. Travelling by plane could possibly be up to $50-$100 cheaper for the people that do have to fly in. Obviously if this is going to be in the winter, there'd be a shortage of outdoor activities that we could do for the days that we're there. I'm fine with January 2016, but the second semester of school starts in January. Summer means we'd be on break, but honestly the only downside to that would be that we would have to wait for over a year to see each other ;o; //weeps solemly I think we need to decide on whether this will be over Winter break, where we could exchange our Secret Santa gifts in person, or over Summer Break, where it'll be warmer with more potential activities to do. Like I said earlier, if it's Winter I think the best place to go would be DC because 1. No hotel charge (unless you want to stay in a hotel) 2. NO HOTEL CHARGE (unless you want to stay in a hotel) & 3. Jay could have a Christmas tree up

I really don't want to head northward in the winter at all.
I will stress that I live in hotter temperatures so traveling to cooler areas is really going to put a stress on me. I don't have sufficient clothes and dealing with snow and ice is a real hassle. (I've visited DC in spring a few years ago and had a real hard time dealing with these problems, I can only assume more north in the winter will be bad)
Not only is it a personal problem for those of us in more tropical weather, but the snow and ice will also cause potential problems with traveling.
These are things I wouldn't want to deal with just because we're sorta impatient
Hate to say it, but it would take a of convincing to get me to go during that time.

^ I agree. That's why when I said that travelling in Winter is expensive, I meant both physically, emotionally, and monetarily lol.
Plus I'd like to not have my flight delayed due to snow thank you

I would love to attend the ones in Ohio but I can't since it's later and it's only 5 hours away from me since I have a car to drive down there myself but probably later or next time maybe. I would love it if there was a Fanime Meetup in Rosemount,IL (Chicago) but probably not since most fanimators may live in certain states but can't come to Chicago

June or July of 2016 sounds great! I'll see when my holidays fall on this year, and then I can get a better idea of dates. Of course, that depends on how long the meetup is going to be. Because I would need a few days to get from here to there.

Welll based on the responses so far, June 2016 sounds like a good time to have the next meet up. Now all we have to do is find a convenient date or dates to have it on. c:

Otakon was my first anime con since 3 years ( 2 year of going until I stop last year) - hmph maybe I must go back again if it like if I feel like it or maybe next few years I suppose if I must go back, what about meet up on the East Coast of here, well I'm from the Northern Virginia, that also part of DC area of here. Maybe here of DC, or Otakon for a meet up or any state for the East Coast.
Yea today, i'm currently planning to go on difference anime convention which i'm going to the North Carolina one in May, and also in June the one here of Virginia Anime Mid Atlantic (I bet everyone have been there before it is from Virginia Beach) and I think the fall 2015 i'm going to Nekocon here too of VA, I went there too last year and it was wild it should been a meet here for Fanime Meet-up Edition of VA/ DC/ MD (year I have a personal FB profile, cannot give those out and a cosplay page too same). I would for Otakon if maybe I must go back again I find you guys one of these days, been busy around panels and stuff like I went to Katsucon - it was a lot of fun.

COOL GAME OKAY I've decided ( ?) to sorta introduce this topic back to everyone so it'll continue to be lodged somewhere in our minds, I've been thinking about this nonstop for a while so I'll attempt to take somewhat of a charge planning this thing. I love the ideas presented so far, but I want to get a better idea of a great midpoint as well as a budget people are willing to work around. so here's how it's gonna go-- To those of you who are at least thinking about attending a potential meetup June or July [ Summer 2016 ] , I'd like you do to the following:
1/ [ for those in the US ] Please pinpoint an approximate location on the map below of where you are going to be living Summer of 2016.
It's ideal if you just copy the image I have now and add on to it like I have. A simple easy to see dot will do just fine.
2/ Please address how far you'll be willing to travel to attend this meetup
For me, I realize living in Florida is sort of out of the way, so I don't mind traveling to anywhere in the US.
3/ and, finally, tell me the price range of of how much you are willing to spend on a potential event or place where the meetup will happen. [ Edit: NOT including travel / hotel / accommodation fees ]
I am willing to pay up to $50 for a potential event or place. I'm taking a small step back from just inviting everyone to a single hotel / hotel room. I want those staying in a room to feel comfortable with each person they are staying with, so locations in which we will be staying will be sorted out privately. For now, I'd just like to settle on a definite location and go from there!
