It was raining. Pouring, really. With the lightning hitting the ground through the auburn-tinted sky, it set up quite the scene. A scene not partial to our red-headed friend. A young woman looking in her early twenties stood in front of a fairly old looking two-story home, not moving just yet. Her green eyes looked past the raindrops that fell onto her glasses and focused on the front door to the house. Her expression was unmoving aside from the occasional visual shiver and her clothing slowly got more and more drenched as the seconds ticked by. Finally, the young woman stepped forward and pressed her damp finger to the door bell. It was now or never, she told herself. This young woman needed somewhere to stay for the night and she had no cell phone, no belongings aside from what was on her body, and because of such, had no way to get anywhere safe for the evening. Taking a deep breath, she used her wet sleeve to wipe away at the water at her glasses. "Please..." She whispered under her breath, hoping and praying she'd have this chance. ((I'll need another character to be the one who answers the door and one way or another lets her in :O Aaaaand yeah. If you'd like to know more about the exact plot behind my character, you may ask but I think it'd make the RP a little less exciting. Main point right now is my character needs a place to stay. Here is a reference picture in case you'd like to see what she looks like. ))

A young man came to the door and unlocked it before opening it up. He wore a friendly smile on his handsome face, and his golden eyes seemed to light up the instant he saw who was at his door. His hair was a bright red, with the underside dyed black, clearly a stylistic choice on his part. It was clear by how he dressed and held himself that he paid close attention to his own appearance. "Good evening, miss. Can I help you with something?" he spoke finally, searching his mind for her face just in case he'd met her before. His voice was smooth as silk, but accommodating. He seemed to be the type of person that might be able to sweep a girl off of her feet with just his words. Whatever the situation, he appeared to just be glad to have company.
((I'm not sure if I'm doing this right! DX Let me know if I'm not. Also this is my character Illios and he looks like this: roxychick2003.deviantart.com/art/Illios-Posing-522417087 ))

Blinking behind her rain smeared glasses, the young woman nearly jumped when the door in front of her opened. Despite the fact that the lights from inside the home were on, she still felt herself a bit on edge and surprised that someone was home. Now if only she could convince them to let her stay there... Clearing her throat a bit, her deep voice mixed in well with the surrounding noise of nature.
"Umm..." Using her wet sleeve, she smeared the raindrops across her spectacles once again before speaking up. "Yes!" Her eyes looked to the young man in front of her, feeling a little less fortunate now. Ah, he was young. That must meant he was not the man of the house. The girl felt her chances lessen but she remained standing, speaking up once again. "I'm sorry to bother you but... I need somewhere to stay for the night. Just one night. Is there any chance at all that that's possible?" Her legs shook a little and another visible shudder rushed over her being, the cold cutting into her now.

The young man's expression changed from one of a friendly manner, to a look of surprise. He'd expected to be asked for directions, or at least asked to borrow an umbrella, but for a lovely young woman to want to spend the night? Without him even having to charm her? It took him a few minutes to finally respond once the question had processed completely. That same friendly smile spread over his face once he'd regained his composure. "Well, if you don't mind that it's just me here. I recently started renting the place, so it's pretty empty." he explained, to the point. After speaking, he stepped to the side, allowing her room to enter if she chose to. "Given the circumstances though, you're free to go somewhere else if you've changed your mind. It's not safe to spend the night alone with a strange man you've just met. But I won't let you go until you've at least warmed up a little, to be fair." his voice was calm and welcoming, and he even gestured further into the house to let her know she was allowed to step inside.

((That's all right. Take your time. I was more worried that my character wasn't gonna work for what you have planned.))
