" Your parents must have done a bad job to raise a disgusting piece of trash like you! Someday I'm going to inherit the entire Vincent fortune. I'll bet your parents are leaving you anything when they die - if they haven't already killed themselves for having such a freak and a failure for a daughter." Alanis angrily drank her wine, raising the bar one higher in the direction Freyja had taken it. Maybe she wasn't clever enough to entertain, but if the bounty hunter wanted to tango, she would tango. Freyja's smile faded at the mention of her parents. "My mother killed herself when my brother and I were young, and my dad died just before the war started.." She stated, solemnly. "In fact, my brother died during the war as well. I have no family left." She took a huge gulp of ale and shrugged her shoulders. "But, that's all water under the bridge now. If I truly did disappoint my family, then so be it. At least they're dead and don't have to deal with me anymore. Unlike your mom and pop. I'm sure you'll give them plenty to be disappointed about when you piss your 'Vincent Fortune' down the drain!" She chuckled a bit, noticing her glass now empty, but a cup of water nearby, thanks to Limarah. Freyja smiled at her and nodded as though she was saying "Thank you." and drank it all in one gulp before filling her mug once more.

"Yeah, well, whatever!" Alanis said, effectively giving up. She took a long swig of her wine to fill the silence. In reality she wasn't ready to back down, but at this point she'd run out of things to say.

Spica certainly was expecting an angered response, but not to be dragged off her feet. She was startled by the action, not inclined to be up so close to someone. Her chest was too choked up to give a retort and once it was all done, was dropped on the floor. She flinched as she made contact and held her head from an incoming headache. Did I hit a nerve just then? Surprinsgly, she wasn't all too pleased about that.
Perhaps she got caught in the moment and took it too far. Yet, a child had lost their parents and a reaction like that wouldn't do any more good. She'd seen many members so far hold Freyja to be a noble hero; that is what she'd been told to. What hero. Freyja was a bounty hunter who happened to do things some would consider noble.
Nothing more.
'Better than other days.' she could now speak, taking the offer to be helped up.
Spica rolled her eyes back her at. What do you think? She planned to say just that, yet the pompus woman was already lone gone. « Prev She saw that the reindeer woman had gone out of her way and given her what she was anticipating from hours ago. Holding the place and glaring up at her, grumbled the words, 'Thank you.' before taking a bite. It was delicious, her eyes lit up and everything felt a lot better even her headache.
Spica was not that interested in music, and didn't recgonise even one. She stared at Robin's arrangment in confusion before nodding to his suggestion. 'Sure, why not.'
'So this is your father's music, it sounds very pleasing.' The tunes certainly did help lift away some tension and by being around Rory, Spica could forget her thoughts and talk.
'Family is very important.. isn't it so?' She said it quietly, being so distant from the line. '

What a thoroughly disgusting display of a lack of control over one's emotions. Freyja's yelling disturbed Pumilus, and when she overturned the table it only worsened his mood. Not to mention some sort of jam had taken to landing on his face, making him even more uncomfortable. The outburst had then died down and many people went their own way to cheering themselves up. Pumi stayed still in his seat as some took to cleaning everything up and making even more food. Looking at the new display of food only put him off even more, so he stood and took a look around the room. He wanted to find some sort of towel to wipe his face off, but couldn't find anything around that would do the job. He also didn't want to ask for help, because he was perfectly capable of handling his own problems now. He sent a light blast of water to his own face to rid it of the sticky substance. His head was dripping now but at least it wasn't gross. Since he hadn't been paying much attention to what others were doing around him after Freyja had left, he didn't notice the phonograph making its way into the room. He also didn't notice Freyja had come back, but her loud voice coming across the room reminded him of her presence. The music started and many people seemed to be enjoying it. Pumilus was definitely not in the mood to humor anyone, so he walked to the edge of the wall and sat down, not near anyone. He thought about what Freyja had said earlier. The Outskirts were more dangerous than anyone thought. This gave Pumilus a bit to worry about. What if some of the members died out there? Everyone, no matter their background, was precious because they lived and breathed. He knew there had to be some people who still wanted to go out there because of whatever drove them, and due to this, he knew he was going too. He wanted to do everything in his ability to help them survive. Besides, he had a debt he had to pay off.

The rest of the night went off without a hitch. The group enjoyed the festivities, listening to beautiful music, engaging in playful banter and even sharing a few drinks together. Freyja did her best to apologize to Spica, and the rest of the group, for her outburst even though she had know expectation for forgiveness, and tried her best to console Gear of the death of his parents, even going so far as to tell him a bit about her own experience. Freyja just needed them to know she was sorry for her actions, because after tonight, it could very well be the last conversation they have with each other. The night felt longer than most, an unshakable restlessness filled the inn. The tower was so close, but if those monsters showed up once more, it would most likely be more than the group could handle. These thoughts kept Freyja up throughout most of the night. She stayed at the bar even after the group went to sleep, trying to calm her nerves as the sun arose once more. It seemed as though the entire group was prepared to head into The Outskirts, even after Freyja's warning. There was no way to stop their determination, so she led them back to the field they trained in. They continued walking until the were at the very foot of the wall, two umbranites standing near an enormous, sealed doorway. They seemed prepared to open it, but Freyja motioned to them. "There's no need. Opening the doors could be dangerous. I'll send us over." The umbranites stopped their actions and simply walked off, back towards Rhimeglas Station. Freyja locked her lodestone in place and created a stone platform for the entire group to stand on and sent it hurdling over the wall. For a brief moment, the entire Outskirts could be seen. From up here, the scenery was breathtaking, even with the knowledge that these growths were the cause of death for thousands. Freyja lowered the platform onto the other side of the wall, as close to Zil'Carm as they could get. The group walked from there, and were within the town in no time. The hairs on the back of the bounty hunter's neck stood up when she saw the enormous paw print of the beast that chased her down the night before, only this wasn't from last night. "It's fresh...."she muttered to herself. Instinct kicked in as Freyja got into a fighting stance. "EVERYBODY, ON GUARD NOW!! WE AREN'T ALONE HERE!!!" And as if the creatures heard her, hundreds of them erupted from the ground, each one sporting a red glow. As if that weren't bad enough, the roar that shook Freyja in her boots erupted from the woods once more. The enormous, crystalline beast emerged from the woods, its eyes locked on the search party. The holes that seemed to be its mouth ignited in flames as it shot an enormous fireball at the group, which Freyja blocked with an earthen wall. Upon lowering the wall, Freyja shouted to the group. "ATTACK!!!!!" As Freyja began running towards the hoard in full sprint, the 'Mother' shot fireballs around the area, aiming at each search party member.
Main Objective
Defeat the lodestone monsters. The 'Mother': Can use fire magic, has strength to match it's size (which is 30 feet) and speed to match. The lodestone growths covering it are incredibly powerful. It would take enormous amounts of strength to break them. (I will be controlling this boss, and will decide what attacks hit and which do not. If you post attacking this boss, you must wait for me to decide what happens) Enemies: These monsters glow with the same energy that the boss does. They can only use fire magic, are incredibly strong, but slower than the average person. Their lodestone growths are not as strong as the mother and can break if enough power is put behind an attack. (NOTE: They do not all look like this. These creatures can have variations of crystal growths, arms, legs and eyes. But they ALL use fire.)(The players can control how these creatures attack) (((TO ANYONE NOT IN THE RP: If you are still interested in joining, at this point I would like you to message me before joining so that I may find a way to add your character in.)))

"ATTACK!!!!!" As Freyja began running towards the hoard in full sprint, the 'Mother' shot fireballs around the area, aiming at each search party member.
Pumilus was not pleased with the arrival of their enemies. He knew it was not safe in The Outskirts, but he had no idea creatures like this would appear. When he saw the fireball coming, he quickly created a water barrier, one large enough to protect himself and one other person who he happened to be near at the time. When he turned his head and saw that it was Murm Lumi, he was glad he could help the healer out. When the fireballs dissipated and Pumilus let the barrier fall, he looked around to the fight that was about to unfold. These creatures looked savage, and Pumilus knew they would not go easy on the group. He silently wondered what kind of other things Murm could do, for he could see no weapon on his person. There was a fleeting thought that maybe they all really were going to die, but Pumilus didn't dwell on it. The hoard of the monsters was not far by now, and to make their advance more difficult, Pumilus took the water he'd dropped earlier and moved it forward to freeze a few of the monsters in place. This didn't stop the rest of the beasts, but at least a good eight or so of them were stuck until further notice. They could surely break lose if they tried hard enough, for the ice was not as strong as Pumilus would've liked it to be. The ice was distributed over a number of the creatures, which therefore made the action weaker. Despite this, the monsters would not be able to come any closer for as long as the ice held, meaning they were open for attack. Someone else could deliver their demise.

"ATTACK!!!!!" As Freyja began running towards the hoard in full sprint, the 'Mother' shot fireballs around the area, aiming at each search party member. The party headed straight for the outskirts. As much as Limarah didn't feel a need for going into this area, she proceeded to follow the group anyways. It was a beautiful sight. The crystal enemies, however, weren't quite the bunch that Limarah hoped to meet. Limarah could tell these creatures were hostile, since they were already attacking the party. Limarah nervously shrugged, "I usually like to keep my magic a secret, including my lodestone, but I suppose I simply have no choice in this situation. Please don't pay too much attention to my weapon. It's quite flashy heheh." She then grabbed out her weapon that contained a light lodestone. Hardened light came out in the form of a 10' sword and a 9' bow. The ice was distributed over a number of the creatures, which therefore made the action weaker. Despite this, the monsters would not be able to come any closer for as long as the ice held, meaning they were open for attack. Someone else could deliver their demise. With a single lighthearted slash, Limarah eliminated the fireball heading her direction alongside the 8 enemies which Pumilus froze. Limarah continued by dragging the sword back with her right hand while still holding her weapon with her left. She then shot the 10' sword with the 9' bow in hopes to fend off the 'Mother'.

Monaiya saw that it seems things were trying to be back to normal. Later on, though, it seems Freyja order the group to head to the outskirts. When the group got to the outskirts... "ATTACK!!!!!" As Freyja began running towards the hoard in full sprint, the 'Mother' shot fireballs around the area, aiming at each search party member. "AW CRAP!!" Monaiya uses her wind lodestone powers to shield herself from the fire! "Geeze, this monster is gonna be a pain!" She then noticed that the weaker monsters are attacking. "Heheh... guess I have my options, huh?" Monaiya use it again to help her jump up in the air. "Okay, I'm ready." She falls back down but she was trying to drop kick one of the weaker monster. It did...some work...but the monster is still alive."CRAP!" Monaiya uses her wind powers to slash the crystals off. "Why, won't, this monster, just, go, away?! CRAP" The wind was strong however, that it broke parts of its lodestone. "Oh...well. Glad that word" But it wasn't giving up. It still has most of its lodestone. It shoots fire. "OH CRAP" Monaiya shields herself from the fire with the wind.

Vera hung her head back as she watched the events go by, not bothering to bat even an eyelash at the outbursts and arguments that consumed the party. One thing was for sure: she had absolutely no part in anything that was going on, and it was to stay that way.
Then again, Freyja's solemn words struck a chord within Vera. Retreating into a cave filled with nothing but the finest treasures did seem ideal, but dying right when she was about to see the world would completely negate everything.
Fuck it.
Vera pushed those thoughts out of her mind and focused on her surroundings, humming quietly to the song played on the phonograph before falling asleep amongst the dying chaos.
The trip to the wall left Vera's mind completely blank, considering the mental stress the day before held. Her legs seemed to drag across the dirt as if she knew to conserve her energy supplies. It was only until they reached over the wall that Vera could truly see the scope of what was going on. Even if thousands died to these surroundings, the huge stones still held an ethereal beauty to it. Hell, it would have been a damn fine resting place. Her face retained a neutral expression throughout the trek, only to be interrupted by the presence of the monsters in front of her.
Without a second thought, she propelled herself into the air, using the momentum from the fall downwards to break the lower level monster's she'll, hopping from one to another almost as if they were stepping stones, hoping to conserve energy and get a decent vantage point to see what the mother would do, hoping to find a weak spot to exploit.

Myrri continued eating, waiting for Fryja to return. When she did, Myrri opened her mouth to welcome her only to be cut off by enraged shouts proclaiming the company's imminent doom. When she first began to shout, her instincts kicked in and Myrri bolted. Years of thievery led to shot nerves. She ran through the streets, trying to get as far away from the inn as possible.
When the first rays of dawn peeked over the horizon, she awoke. She climbed out of the barn that she had spent the night in and cautiously approached the inn. She had decided that she needed that money, if she couldn't prove herself, she didn't need to exist. Also, Freyja had probably been overreacting. Freyja was probably trying to keep the reward for herself. As she approached the inn she saw the congregation heading out and tagged along.
As the fireball shot towards the group, Myrri dodged behind a large lodestone growth, the fireball coursing around the gem and leaving her unharmed. She opened up the various pouches that hung on her belt and drew a knife in her left hand, her gun resting comfortably in her right hand. She leaped out from behind the boulder and fired a stunning shot at the nearest beast. The bolt hit the monster in the chest and it froze. Myrri was stunned for a second, but recovered quickly and leapt onto the beast's back. Suddenly it came back to life and began swinging its arms, trying to dislodge her from its back. She clung on tightly and thrust the knife into an exposed patch of skin on the beast's neck. The blade released a fountain of blood, but the beast remained standing. Myrri ripped the knife out and leapt up into one of the head growths. She stabbed the knife into its eye and the monster collapsed. Myrri stepped away from the fifteen foot long corpse and turned back to the battle.

Uldrix had devoured the meat one of the new members had laid before him. He hadn’t yet caught her name, but he was grateful her first reaction to him was more pleasant than other members. When the music started, he had rushed over to the phonograph and got as close to the sound waves as he could, marveling at yet another style he’d yet to hear. The rather somber songs of his people were beautiful, but there had never been much change in the emotion behind these melodies. They were always quiet and controlled in comparison to the tunes he’d been exposed to since.
He spent the night next to the machine, occasionally enhancing notes for a stronger punch or taking out subtle imperfections from the record. He fell asleep with his head resting against the wall, the vibrations from the music lulling him into a peaceful slumber.
Finally.
He could do the one thing he was good at.
Uldrix let out an ear piercing shriek and took in his surroundings, trying memorize where everything was. He’d have to do this frequently if he wanted to avoid any debris caused by the fighting. He felt the heat of the fire ball from the Mother and fired off a sound wave in its direction. The wave split it down the middle, one side singeing his left elbow. He hissed at the pain and licked carefully at the wound. His suit made a small ‘beep’ to indicate damage had been dealt.
“98.5%” a robotic voice buzzed from his collar. He growled, angry that he’d already taken a hit, even though incredibly small. He focused in on the slower footsteps of approaching lodestone monsters before speeding off in a different direction. They seemed confused that he was running away and started to head the way he’d sped off to. Uldrix, however, had vanished only to reappear behind the monsters, circling around to get at them from a more favorable angle. His sound lodestone made it next to impossible to hear his approach, and he shattered a dozen of their lodestones with a few well aimed shrieks.
He looked around to see how his teammates were faring---particularly those who had proven themselves to have touches of kindness. Pumi had protected Murm and the water robot appeared to be alright for now. Limarah, the sweet lady with meat, also seemed to be doing just fine on her own.
He noticed Monaiya, someone he’d yet to have a personal interaction with and a h u m a n at that, seemed to be having trouble. He didn’t really feel up to helping a stranger, but fired off a sound wave at the monster that was attacking her. Whether it hit or not, he didn’t bother to check, instead turning his attention to other corrupted lodestone creatures that had started towards him. Something that resembled a chuckle came from his beak before he lunged forward.
This was what evolution had prepared him for.
On the battlefield, it finally felt like home.

Spica drew out her wand and instantly a cluster of crystals spurted from the ground. The fireball collided into them, and reached halfway before finally giving out. 'Oh, what a bother.' She mused to herself, ordering the crystals to encircle around her. She spun her wand to cast a 2 metre radius barrier, then switched back. This ignited her headache and then came a tearing pain. 'So it's come to this.' Spica pushed her bangs aside, revealing a third eye. 'You can't stay put when there's a real battle around can you?' Spica set her sights on the nearest foe. It slowly approached her, swinging its two arms to and fro. She released two crystals to entrap it, and once it got close enough the barrier closed in on only the two of them. 'Now it's just you and me.' With that line, Spica's third eye locked onto the monster, and raising two more crystals aimed them at its chest. It first clashed against the tough exterior though then drilled its way through. The monster was not yet dead however, and writhed as it struggled to get close to the small witch. 'One more should do it.' Spica brought five more crystals jabbing them where the first two struck. This continued until the monster no longer responded. Spica returned the barrier to its previous state and planned to conduct a similiar attack on another.

Murm was quiet as they made their way to the wall, while he wasn't too certain on many of these people he wanted to give everyone a fair chance. Those he had gotten good impressions of were enough to convince him to come this far, perhaps the others were still worth his time as well. Once past the wall he proceeded to follow without a word largely ignoring the sights, it wasn't too long before they were thrown into danger anyway. Looking at the creatures it appeared to him that the group was outnumbered, but that was none of his concern. Surely the others would make short work of all this. The man was content to keep watch over them and have as little involvement in the combat as possible. His attention began to slip away until Freyja called out for the group to attack. The exclamation snapped his mind to the world in front of him and the sight that met his eyes caused his breath to halt in his lungs. His eyes were caught in the fire headed his way. While instinct would have told him to run, panic told him to stay, bringing up a myriad of thoughts. Would he really die here? Like this? Many normal people would find fire unpleasant, fear lending itself as their first reaction. For Murm it incited a more severe response. Staring at the danger headed for him, the man was caught in a bitter memory. To think that in one night a single force had enough power to nearly destroy someone's already rough, patched up life. The healer stood locked in place, expecting this to be his end. When the fire never hit he snapped from his delusion to see a barrier of water fall around him and Pumilus. Though he knew it was unlikely the android would hear him the man mumbled the words anyway. "Thank you." He drew in a deep breath, quickly appearing to have recomposed himself then backed a few steps away. ((((also since oopy backstory stuff already came up here is some more backstory stuff. you can pick all the details yourself i aint sayin shit.)))) ((not pictured are the 2 other Atraman children. also no i didnt use Emmis as an excuse to make a character a tropic worwren because i like their characteristics.. Sh-shut up.))

Though he knew it was unlikely the android would hear him the man mumbled the words anyway. "Thank you." He drew in a deep breath, quickly appearing to have recomposed himself then backed a few steps away. Pumilus raised a sheet of ice under a few of the beast's feet to send them off-balance when he heard the man's thanks. He turned his head in Murm's direction to find he'd retreated a bit, but still could see no attempts made on the man's part to either attack or defend himself. Pumilus took his attention off of the lodestone creatures for a bit and hopped back a few feet to ask the man something that had been bothering him. "Have you no weapon?" He said, looking up into the man's face with no expression, though concern filled his mind. "Have you no shielding mechanisms?" He could not be sure because he had shielded the man in the first place. Perhaps he just didn't have a chance to use that ability if he'd had it. Either way, he had to be sure. A healer was one of the most important beings in a group such as this, and Pumilus had to know if he'd be alright on his own.

Limarah examined the situation. She thought most of the party could defend themselves from meteors, but may not have been ready to fight yet. Limarah's attention was brought towards Gear who seemed helpless in a situation like this. A meteor was still heading for him. In response, Limarah walked over to Gear and brought her weapon up to reuse her lodestone. This time she shined three different lights which consisted of a shield, a bow, an object to pull the string of the bow, and three spears. She then patted Gear on the head. Limarah started to speak to Gear, "Don't worry about a thing young one. As I told you, I will keep you protected. I wont be moving too far away from here, so feel free to speak to me about anything if you wish. Except, please don't ask about my weapon... It's kind of embarrassing after all heheh." After conversing with Gear, she launched the three spears at the 'Mother' with her bow. These shots were not direct shots since Limarah was not paying much attention to the battle itself. Fighting didn't quite suit her taste. ((Gear's colors and fireball colors are estimated. They might not be accurate. I asked zen if doing this was okay before posting.))
