Web Comic Project - Help and Critique Appreciated!

Hey guys! ^^
A few of you may know me from around 3-5 years ago as Pinkiemagenta, if so hi! Or by my tumblr, billyashwell. (unlikely...) Anyway, the point is I'm working on a webcomic/animation (maybe both) project that is currently unnamed. Here I'm going to summarise the story and the characters, so any form of critique, ideas, or general thoughts would be greatly appreciated! This will be my first time posting about my project publicly online.
For anyone who may know me from my Youtube, here's a clip from a while ago featuring Daisy. (Though this clip implies they are in high school, I have since changed the setting to university!!) I would like to animate my story eventually, but at first it will be a manga style webcomic.
STORY
The general premise of my story is the main character, a talented hacker by the name of Billy, entering a futuristic university and moving in with four other roommates. (Making five? But there should only be four total...? ;0) At this place, a number of strange events occur, leading up to a very dangerous internet hacker from his past coming into contact with him again. His aim? To hire Billy to work with him on internet spying missions and the like. (Any more ideas for what they could get up to would be awesome. I still need to work on a reason he'd need Billy specifically. Perhaps he's the best in the world or...)
It is set around 60 years into the future, and I'm hoping to include a mixture of futuristic technology, and more old fashioned stuff for a bit of contrast. (Old fashioned meaning anything from retro games to the type of chatrooms we'd hang out on in the early 2000s) Examples of the mixture are an abundance of holograms, how simple chat rooms are visualised as physical space, and there being an old fashioned arcade, fully simulated within itself.
Due to the highly electronic nature of the environment, hacking and online security threats are just as bad as a bunch of bad guys actually breaking into the facility, and so are taken very seriously. Near the beginning of the story, I am planning for there to be a virtual attack in the arcade (like digital creatures wrecking the place), which one of the characters, Angel, must fight off using the latest and greatest security measures. (Magical girl inspired digital armour and weapons?)
Basically, all of this is just the setup, and it's going to be quite a challenge to fill in all of the plot holes and fully develop this futuristic universe, so all ideas are good ideas if you'd like to contribute any!
CHARACTERS
Just the main ones! There will of course be many more, and for now the mysterious hacker's identity will remain secretive.
Billy Ashwell
A baby-faced 18 year old with an aptitude for hacking. He's rarely seen without his red scarf. Despite the cheerful image he puts on for his friends, he's really quite gloomy. He isn't so good at making friends but within the story, friends find him. (He's certain his adoptive parents sent him to uni to socialise.)
Daisy Brooks
Daisy is just your regular cute and cheerful girl, energetic and sweet with a somewhat enigmatic smile... Whilst she isn't so gifted in the IQ department, she makes up for in her lively character. She also appears to be infatuated with the protagonist. Daisy is pursuing art, natural talent or not. (in this case, not) And I wonder what her history with Angel was~?
Angel Castillo
High school bully, anyone? Well, not any more. Angel's the type to hide her own insecurities under layer after layer of false vanity, but when all's said and done, she's trying to be a better person. (Though Daisy sure has her doubts.) Angel is part of the university's cyber threat team, an occupation she has to reluctantly reveal early on.
Ginger Chapman
Ginger is a guy with a cool appearance but a soft interior... He bonds with Billy over them being the only two guys in the dorm, but beyond that their interests vary wildly. Ginger has a strong love of all things sweet, and is seriously pursuing his artistic career as a traditional painter. On an unrelated note, he had one hell of an emo phase...
Skye Kitson
Skye is the only person with a level of 'chill' to rival Billy's. However, not all is fine and good as they appear to have had a very rocky past, and perhaps... a connection to Billy? Skye quickly becomes very close with Ginger, as the two had met in the past. (Skye is currently my most undeveloped character... ^^")
STYLE
Here is a small preview of how the comic is likely to look when I've done pages! Though I keep wavering between styles a little. (From a scene in which Angel is playing at the arcade before being spotted by Daisy.)
Okay so that's enough of my rambling about the comic! If you have any suggestions (particularly on the topics of where the story's gonna go, character's motives, what I should do with costuming cause they're all wearing totally random stuff... and STORY NAME IDEAS!!) these would all be awesome. <3 Thank you for reading!
