It's an old one but a good one. Here's how you do it. 1. Start by scribbling something. It doesn't matter, just let your mouse or pen work. 2. (Optional) Add some colour. 3. Try and redraw the scribble and make it look like something you'd normally draw. 4. Use as many details from the sketch as you can, and try not to add more detail than necessary. If your sketch doesn't give you much to work with, you're allowed liberties as to how you interpret it. 5. Colour your redesign. Shade if you want. There you go! Here's my example.

So, I went the extra mile and made the scribble on MS Paint....with a mouse. I see little difference.
