Background character threads used to be really popular so I feel like I might as well try to liven up this forum a bit with this. I'd like everyone to respond to this thread by submitting original artwork of a character that would fit in as a background character for my upcoming series "Kama the Thief." If your character design fits the series well then I'll add your character into the show. The characters with designs that impress me the most might even have a voice line or two. Here are the rules I'd like everyone to follow when designing their character:
1. Make your character an armed human thug or a lower class elf. I only need 4 or 5 thugs, and any number of elves can work.
2. Make a character that fits in with a medieval fantasy setting.
3. You may submit as many character designs as you'd like.
4. Please keep the character designs as simple as possible so that I can animate them easily.
5. Characters from the role playing game called "Shadow Slayers" are allowed to be submitted, but keep in mind when submitting a Shadow Slayers character that this story takes place about 50 years before the events of the role playing game.

 desert flavored thug guy, i made him a nagaist for spice but that can be excluded lol. you can totally change his design if its too complicated |

Is there a general aesthetic to follow for either of these options? I did get info of using earth tones but I don't want to make something out of place lol

I did get info of using earth tones but I don't want to make something out of place lol Well unfortunately I'm not good enough at world building to have an established, clear, and consistent style with my characters. All I've really thought out is that I want these background characters to look medieval and poor so you can kinda just make them look however you want as long as you do that. Perhaps give them clothes that are a little ripped up and dirty would be good. I wouldn't worry about them being out of place if I were you, because I'm willing to accept almost any design considering how few I've been given so far. |

 Here ya go~! The first and second thugs have bracers and high boots on, some shoulder pads, too. The female thug is holding two giant needles, btw. And... the elf.... looks too cute to be of the lower class, but hey, feel free to change things you don't like. ^^ |
