Summary
This is a simple game I just came up with on the spot that revolves around storytelling and artwork. The idea is to have a story that can progress without having to worry about waiting on others to reply or having someone drop the game. It's also supposed to be low maintenance. You shouldn't spend very long at all replying, especially with art as you risk someone else jumping ahead of you. The way this works is sort of like how 'one sentence' games work. I'll go into more details below.Rules:
1. All characters submitted are open for all to control. Do NOT use premade characters, as you have to be very flexible with how they are played and realize the character is going to morph and change depending on who is using them. Make characters simple and easy to change hands between users.2. A maximum of 5 posts a day. This is to prevent burn out and over posting. It is recommended you space your posts out if you can to allow other users to jump in.
3. Make it fun, but not too silly. Making things too ridiculous and/or too serious can kill a story.
4. Be open and flexible. Weird things are going to happen. Or nothing at all.
5. Try not to spend more than 30mins on a post, including if you're making art. The goal is to make this as free flowing as possible.
6. Recommended word count is 300 words or below. Simple drawings also highly recommended.
How to post:
Each post should consist of at least one of the following items:1. A character bio that is free for everyones use. If an image is not posted of the character, someone else is free to draw them.
2. A simple image.
3. A written post.
Character Bio Example:
Name: Joey Boi
Pronouns: He/Him
Personality: Fun loving and hyper.
Age + Height: 21; 5'6"
Other: Works as a cashier at a local grocery store.
Image or Description: Blond hair, blue eyes. Wide jaw and spiky hair.
Simple Image Example:
Written Post Example:
Joey looked over at the customer, a curious expression on his face. He hadn't even seen them walk in! How had they gotten here? And what was with that trench coat? He'd have to go investigate immediately!
Post #2 (reply to the first post, a new writer)
Joey tried to act cool as the trench-coat man approached. The man leaned over the counter before slowly pulling out a briefcase. "Do you know what's in here?" The trench coat man asked. Joey shook his head.
Post #3 (reply to the second, a new writer)
The man opened up the briefcase to reveal a huge stack of paperclips. "Are you in the business?" The man inquired with a grin.
And so on and so forth.
(***NOTE: Characters are NOT required to have a bio if they are an NPC like the trench coat man above, HOWEVER, if they become a prevalent character, I might add one for them anyways.
If you have any questions feel free to pm me. Avoid posting in the thread to avoid clutter.
If no posts have been made in 24 hours, a new story will begin. I'll add pages to this page to indicate where stories start and begin.
Story One - On The Shore (Begins on Pg 1)
Set-Up
It is the middle of the afternoon. An unofficial surfing contest is about to begin on the beach in shark infested waters.
No one is yet aware of the danger the waters hold.
But they're about to.
