I've decided to host my own little contest to see who comes up with the best fan-made starter Pokemon design! The winner of the contest (which will be decided by me) won't depend on who has the best artwork, but rather who comes up with the design that fits in the Pokemon world the best and has the most original, creative, and overall appealing Pokemon design.
Rules:
1. Draw a basic stage, 1st evolution stage, and 2nd evolution stage to your starter Pokemon and post them on this thread. Be sure to give all three stages names. You can also add a mega evolution if you want.
2. Make your Pokemon water, fire, or grass type. You may also give them a second typing if you'd like to.
3. Only one contest entry per person. You can post other Pokemon designs on this thread if you'd like, but please make it clear which design you've posted is your submission for the contest.
4. I know at least one person who's gonna enter this contest doesn't have an account on this forum, so if you wanna enter without posting on the forum then you can email your submission to funnybunnyjay@yahoo.com and be sure to include "STARTER POKEMON CONTEST" in the subject line.
5. The deadline for submitting your starter Pokemon design is March 18th 2017, 11:59 PM. If all goes according to plan then I will announce the winners the next day (March 19th).
Prizes:
The prizes are gonna be pretty terrible since I don't think many people will enter just for the prize, and this will probably be a really small and unpopular contest anyways.
1st place winner can choose between a picture of their Pokemon drawn by me or a trade in a Pokemon game where I give them a Zygarde (if they have a recent enough Pokemon game).
2nd place winner gets a poorly Photoshopped picture of their Pokemon as the "Bidoof King."
3rd place winner gets... bragging rights.
If this contest gets 10 or more contest entries then I'd be willing to offer a shiny Ursaring as a prize instead of Zygarde.
It'd be cool (but not required) if everyone could place their Pokemon evolutions on the circles and the Pokemon names above the elements in the layout that I'm going to leave below. The layout is made by Bulbapedia:
