What frustrates me is when someone asks for advice so I give it to them, but then they reject everything I say. You asked for advice and I'm giving it to you. Sorry I don't always sugarcoat it.
I feel like when people ask for advice, they actually just want sympathy. They want me to say, "Oh, everything will be okay," or "Oh, he's just a jerk and you're totally cool," or "Oh, your plans sound great! Don't worry!" That's not advice, or at least it's not good advice. Also, when you post something online, unless you say otherwise, it's game for anyone to come and throw in their two cents.
So what makes you frustrated? Obviously, a lot of other things make me more frustrated, but that was just one that came to mind when I thought about conversations I've had with others or things I've seen on tumblr.

I CAN DEFINITELY AGREE WITH THAT ONE! I'm a very sympathetic/empathetic person, but if you ask for my honest opinion that's what you get... I do my best to make it not seem too harsh or whatever with my wording, but aside from that you're gonna be told what problems I genuinely see. And for the misandrist friends I've had in the past, me not "having their back as a girl" kinda shot the friendship to pieces, but um... sorry being a male vs female situation doesn't automatically put you in the right...? Which brings me to something I really want to rant about -- double standards. That is something that really gets under my skin. I barely look at tumblr and stuff anymore because I'm constantly seeing examples of things like "FUCK YOU-- EQUALITY FOR ALL GENDER/RACE/ETC! -- OMFG LET US HAVE OUR RACIAL/SEXUALITY/ETC SPECIFIC SPACE! [WHATEVER] PRIDE FUCK YA'LL." Is it just me or does that seem... hypocritical and counterproductive? Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with having some pride in yourself, but when you alienate yourself while screaming about being alienated... you lose my support. :c

The social justice part of tumblr typically sends me into a blind rage.

I agree with everyone here. The social justice part of tumblr makes me so insanely angry due to their hypocritical ridiculousness... If there is one thing I especially can not stand is being a huge hypocrite (that, and lying. Liars just... ugh).

So people, I just thought I would speak my mind in here, since I got no one to talk about this right now. I just thought, since I saw the german dub of Kiki's delivery service often enough, I would give other languages a chance as well. So I just saw parts of the english dub and can't really continue since there are just too many things that are getting on my nerves. I obviously saw the disney version. There seems to exist another dub from Streamline, but I could not find that, so let's talk about disney! There are some great things about disney when it comes to animation and some things that I don't like and they managed to bring in the stuff I just can't stand. Since it's a childrens movie, it HAS to be funny, right? Being all that serious and deep won't get us any money, so let's put in several extra lines for Jiji, he never actually said. We can't see his mouth? Put in a bad joke! There is no music in the background when Kiki goes to the toilet? Well put in some micky mousing music! And of course children are stupid, so put in extra phrases to explain stuff. That was one of the things that really got me angry when I saw the diesney spirited away. When Chihiro sees Haku flying away as dragon for the first time, she just watches! She does no say "Hey look that dragon must be Haku!". This made my favourite movie scene, when Dragonhaku is attaked by the paperbirds kind of meaningless. That's the moment she is actually supposed to realise who this dragon is, while screaming his name as a reflex. But back to Kiki. Also fixing up "mistakes" of the japanese version. It's a childrens movie and Kiki is only 13 years old she is not supposed to drink coffee! Why would a pregnant women offer her coffee? Let's turn it into hot chocolate, so kids won't get the wrong idea. I just can't handle stuff like that. I mean maybe a lot of you grew up with this Kiki version and love it just the way it is but I just can't watch it. Especially the micky mousing killed it for me as well as using new songs that come out of Kikis radio... Oh I don't now, it's just... so... I... :<

Some translators often take liberties because a western culture typically won't understand a pun or a reference and that's ok to an extent. The issue is when you're talking about plain content and it's an issue that plagues censorship as well. Companies that are localizing it often only take into account one demographic, children. This leaves adults with a frustratingly kid friendly script that further emphasizes the misconception that anime is for children. Yes, it's very frustrating. I think the part that aggravates me most would be the fact that that side of tumblr actually hates heterosexual pairings, or white people. It's purely nonsensical.

Personally, that irritates me all the same. (I'm not even going to get started on dub voices and how unnatural and annoying they are.) And yeah, a lot of times it ruins the emotion behind something (like the dragonhaku bit). Let's not forget, riceballs JELLY DONUTS LOL

"But they are so privileged" "Oppress the oppressors" Um no? I was pretty sure that the solid ground to 'being a good person' was to try and be nice to everyone? ? Yes I would like equal rights to everyone of every kind, but acting like an asshole to people who aren't the same as you are because they were born that way and nothing more is just rude. ALSO freaking jelly donuts.... Once I got in an argument with my sister when I was younger about what they were. She's two years younger then me but gee wizz...

OPPRESS THE OPPRESSORS. You have no idea how many text walls I've had where I've vented about that one. Even just recently. LOL

QnQ I've never seen you come off that way in my opinion, lol. On the internet it's a bit harder too because you can simply say "I've tried that, unfortunately it didn't work for me." And since there is no tone, if you don't use a text face or ramble on, it can come off as either being like "wow thanks for nothing" or any number of ways, when in fact all you meant was "Thanks for the advice, but it didn't work for me when I tried it."

I've got one. When your voice actors have lines due, but they choose to post public auditions for other things instead of working on their original obligations. <3

Well Tumblr social justice is a no-brainer so instead I'll complain about other things that annoy the ever loving heck out of me.
If there's one thing I hate it's people that romanticise being depressed or having schizophrenia or being suicidal or anything like that. Before I have anyone in this board at my throat, let me say right now there is nothing beautiful about depression or suicide. People like that need help. And it might not even be professional help (even if that is the best). And usually people that do have those types of conditions understand they need help and look for it in the first place. It makes me wonder if the people that romanticise these things actually have these problems.
And going back to nothing beautiful about suicide and so on, another thing that angers me are the people that go 'everything is beautiful!' There's a reason why that movement is self-defeating; it still implies that you need beauty to have any worth. There are ugly things in this world. Not everyone has aesthetic qualities. But does that make them worthless? No. So even if you look at an 'ugly' person and say 'oh they're beautiful', you're still judging based on physical qualities. It's also kind of patronising when you're forcing yourself to say "Oh, I may not physically find you attractive but I'll still say you're beautiful because everything is beautiful." Yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I understand people may have preferences for 'ugly' people, but there's a difference between having a preference and simply saying everything is beautiful, because there are still rapists and murderers in this world. Find a new way to empower young girls other than just saying what could be taken in an awful awful way.
