Avril looked Sandy dead in the eye. With his hands still raised, he took a half step forward, his lips starting to curl. "I wouldn't do that, unless you want to get expelled... Sandy. Just looking out for you is all." He would have his fun, even if the other party was making it difficult. Sandradiga wasn't interested in his petty threat of expulsion. She already HAD all the powers, knew all the spells, this final exam didn't matter to her past getting a diploma. The ifrit gave off an exaggerated " OOOOOOOOOH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" in response to the student's 'threat,' if one could even call it that. The girls hair became completely engulfed in flame as she walked past Evaley, not interested in reasoning with anyone. The skin on her face began to burn away as her hair flickered back and forth, the girl showing no sign of harm. "You're gonna rely on the school to protect you? Guess what, the school won't be able to protect you when I burn you to the ground. I'll be expelled, sure, but you'll be dead and gone. Nothing but food for the maggots. Too bad they'd probably fall ill, due to your shitty demeanor." The girl's words only causing her flames to burn higher. "This school is worth nothing to me but a bloody diploma. So if you keep on talking shit, there is NOTHING holding me back from lighting your pathetic ass on fire." She turned away from the barometz and walked off, head still aflame.

She turned away from the barometz and walked off, head still aflame. "Sandra? Sandra?!" Evaley started to run towards her, but stopped turning back towards Avril with a spark of sad anger in her eyes. Her second pair of eyes began to open, as she struggled not to indulge the other in a fight. "You are cruel." She simply said, before turning back towards Sandra and speeding off in her direction. "Hey! Wait up!" She called, managing to keep pace with the flaming haired girl. "Just calm down, ok? He's just trying to get on your nerves. You're better than this, don't let those impulses of yours be your downfall."

Acoou was now alone the small friend he had been talking to had, of course, ran off to be with someone they knew. Looking off at the small group he sighed and leaned himself back against the fountain. His father would never leave, Acoou knew that the man knew what it was like being alone. The real reason the elf was even so anxious to return was because he had become a certain type of clingy and needy that didn't lend well towards making friends; using his single parent was an easy excuse. As much as Acoou tried to make his way through this playing the fool, it was always easy to end up falling into the negative sometimes. Bringing his legs in close to him, he stared up at the sky. This wasn't the time to think of the negative. Pessimism wouldn't get him anywhere now, it certainly never did his father any favors. Soon he would take part in these test and be on his way back home and surely he would make his father proud.

Every goddamn year there are more students that just want to get under my skin!!" The skin now completely returned to her face, he hair beginning to fade to its natural red shade. "This is why I don't want any more friends. I don't NEED any more friends. They're all just bullies and assholes!! It's better to push them all away before they can get to me." Sandraudiga walked over to the tree which Evaley had fallen from and sat down in the grass, her hair completely turned back to normal. "I just want school to be over. I hate all these other kids. I just want the exam to be over and to just move on in life." Sandraudiga pulled her legs close to her chest and looked towards Evaley. "Those students are jerks anyways. Who'd wanna be their friends? Not me.." She looked over towards the door, waiting for it to open.

Polaris let out an exasperated sigh at the commotion around him. Although it was plesent to see a wide array of such positive students, the action around him became a little too much to bare. It was a better idea to head to a less hectic place so he could continue to meditate. With that, he left his original station at the fountain and make his way over to a fellow student waiting at the doors of the tower. "Moray, it was?" Polaris slapped a kind smile across his face, "you seem to have separated yourself from the rest of crowd, as I have. Perhaps we can keep each other company!" The icy haired boy fell into the same crossed position he made before, but now looking up at the lovely stature beside him. Someone came to sit next to them, the prince no less, as beautiful a creature as any. "O-oh," They muttered quietly, as they looked instead to the ground, "Yes, we could. If you don't mind sitting with me, then I'd be honored to keep you company."

Polaris let out a small light hearted laugh, "Please, heavens be, the pleasure is all mine!" He patted the ground next to him, kindly signaling his company to take a seat. "These doors should be opening soon, we should take advantage of this time to gather our confidence, no?"
He said this mostly due to the fact his heart was racing, he seeked meditation to cool his nerves, but didn't find the time to properly do it. However, he didn't let his emotions get the better of him. Even as a boy. his caretakers raised him to be the face of peace for his people. A ruler in stress meant stress for the land, so forcing a cheery disposition was necessary-- even for something such as this.

Moray sat down next to Polaris without much thought other than it was amazing he even thought to speak to them. "What a... nice smile." They said when they looked back to him, but soon thought better of their statement. "Oh, I'm sorry. I- know you're a Prince, that was probably not very proper of me to say- It's just, smiles. I like them." Moray ended up in a sitting position not too different from Polaris's, though more from habit than for meditation. "I do agree though. Preparing our senses is best before a test. Though, I can't think why you'd need to. You, and everyone, I'm confident you're all going to pass."

The prince's smile grew brighter, "I am flattered! Thank you!" the complement seemed to have made him think less of his nerves as he responded, "my mother always said a smile is the gateway to happiness. To this I must agree with you." He paused as the golem continued to speak of the success of their classmates, his bright smile transforming into a slightly distressed forced one. "I do hope so, for it would reflect greatly on my kingdom if I fail." He trailed off, quickly shaking away the negativity and returning to a better state of mind. "You as well, my friend! I wish you as well as everyone else the best of luck!"

The group had grown in numbers and Moray found themselves pleased that everyone had made it so far. They then thought to respond to the last of what Polaris had said. "Thank you, fr-" They paused. Surely if he called them so, it must be alright to say it back? "Friend. I'll try my best. I'm sure you won't let your kingdom down."

Wander's wings stood on end as his companion taunted the girl endlessly, calling her by the name she refuted with all her might. The embers reignited, but this time at an incredulous pace until her hair was set aflame. Her hair was a bright crimson as the flames crackled and her eyes beamed with fury at the barometz; clearly more than agitated with the fellow. From her lips she spat hateful words, even going so far as to threaten the boy before her eyes with death by her own fire. He had only meant to compliment and console the situation, but now it had spiraled out of control.
The floocala cooed, trying to separate her friend from the rest of the bunch until her anger had subsided. A weary sigh emitted from him, "I... just thought everyone was lovelier when they smiled," as his hand strayed behind his a top wing, as though to scratch, "Maybe that wasn't the right way to talk with her." Momentarily, his pupils shifted to the ground, rather sullen by the display that had just occurred, before returning to his friend. "Avril, maybe you went just a tad bit too far? I mean... I guess she's rough around the edges but..." he shrugged, "A little kindness never hurt anybody." Though it might have almost did just now. "At least do it for Evaley."
Yet, Sandraudiga's affinity for fire and her somewhat stand-offish attitude struck him as just a tiny bit familiar. "We should apologize if we run into her again," he nodded. "I don't know why, but she kind of reminds me of Araya," the corners of his lips tugged at a small grin, "I know, I know, it's weird." He'd mention this name around Avril a few times before, being that he often was thinking of the person back home.
"B-but anyways! Are you prepared for the test?" His hands clasped together.

Avril's only response to Sandy's heated display was a dismissive shrug after she left. He blinked a few times, fanning himself in an over dramatic manner before shaking his head, fluffy hair repositioning itself. "Araya, really?" Avril mused, running his fingers through his hair before pulling out a cotton seed. He looked at it briefly before pulling a small pouch out of his pocket and placing the seed inside for safe keeping. "And I guess I am... I mean, there wasn't a lot of preparing I could do, since I don't have a connecting to the terrain in there. I'm sure I'm fine, if they don't have a terrain I could-" The bell atop Horizon Tower rang out, sending all of the birds in the court yard and the surrounding area scattering away and in turn the students scurrying towards the tower. Once. Twice. Three times the bell rung. Students began filing into the tower, finding that it's once locked door had now been unlocked. Inside the tower there was nothing to be seen but a vast blackness that one would first mistake for being in a room with no light source but then would quickly discover to be more akin to drifting in a starless sky. A lone figure stood in the center of this blackness, and to her the students naturally drew in close. "Hello eighth year students, very soon you will beginning your four day long examination inside the enchanted Horizon Tower." It was none other than Euphinia Tinumiel, a light elf and the school's healing magic professor. "I and the other professors will be observing you all during this examination, though we ourselves will not be present," she then motioned to the crystal ball to he side, "do not worry though, as the exam was created by our magic, you will never be in any real danger." The area began to lighten, sounds became audible. The students found themselves in a wooded area, fresh green grass below their feet and a blue sky with a sun and two moons above their heads. A waterfall can be heard in the distance, and once and assume it to be connected to the stream that cut it's way through the forest and across the prairie the students stood in. There were also various ruins in the area, some over grown with vegetation. There are also various rock formations in the distance, sure to hold a bounty of minerals. "This will be the setting for the first part of your exam. You will have until sun down to find what you consider to be the magical item of the most worth. This can be an enchanted artifact from the ruins, a plant or gemstone with magical properties, or even an item you obtain by slaying one of the monsters roaming the area." Tinumiel calmly addressed the awestrucken students before a realization then hit her. "Oh! Yes! as for those... Some of monsters in this area have magic items hidden inside them for students who are more combat oriented. They will only attack when provoked, however, and have an enchantment placed on them to prevent them from seriously harming the students." The light elf then walked towards a fallen column. She lifted it with ease telepathically before then transmuting it's form into a statue. There, in stone stood the likeness of Princess Luphore, heir to the Zephyrian throne and blind prophet. She was mostly chosen out of Tinumiel's own fondness for the half dryad-half merfolk, but she was almost setting a theme that the later teachers would then follow. "One you have your magical item, you will wait for the end of the examination at this statue. Students who are not at the statue when the exam ends will be left behind..." Despite the severity of her word, the light elf kept a soft demiter and a smile of her face. "Good luck everyone." With that Tinumiel vanish, leaving the students to begin the first part of their exam.
Objective
Complete the first part of the exam. Your character may explore the enchanted woodlands, finding whatever magical items you can think of. (as long as they are within reason) The woodlands stretch out for a mile in each direction from the statue, and at that point your character will be spat out back at the statue. If you've any questions about the exam or the woodlands feel free to ask, don't be afraid to add things. (I am accepting designs for other monsters!)

Despite the severity of her word, the light elf kept a soft demiter and a smile of her face. "Good luck everyone."
With that Tinumiel vanish, leaving the students to begin the first part of their exam. "Fucking finally." Sandraudiga muttered to herself, still in a sour mood. The entire display didn't strike the girl as all that impressive, despite nearly every other student gawking at the room. She simply rolled her eyes and waited for the teacher to shut her trap and tell everyone what their goal was. It felt like ages until the old woman finally got to the point, prompting all surrounding students to hunt down these 'magical artifacts' and meet at the statue. Simple. Sandraudiga ran her fingers through her hair and began walking along the river, towards the sound of the waterfall. "If there's gonna be any 'magical artifacts' I'm betting my ass that there's a hidden cave or something near the waterfall. Fairytales always have stupid things like that." She whispered to herself, so nobody would hear her plan. "And if not, I'm sure there'll be a couple of animals using it as a water hole." She chuckled to her self at her own genius. As she made her way into the woods, a small fire caught her attention. The flames seemed to be attached to something, but Sandraudiga couldn't quite make it out. As if by instinct, she held her hand out towards the flames, prompting them to draw near her. This was met with some resistance, which surprised the girl, but by putting a bit more mana into it she managed to bring the creature in front of her. A carbuncle. "Well, they did say some artifacts could be hidden inside of monsters." As the small, rabbit-like creature squealed away out of either anger or shock, Sandraudiga used her other hand to summon up a thorned vine from the ground next to her. The vine pierced the carbuncle's chest, ending its life rather quickly. The vine split apart, tearing the dead creature's chest cavity open, prompting its little organs to plop onto the floor. Nothing of interest, though. With no remorse, the girl tossed its body away and continued to follow the small creek.

Evaley noted Sandra heading along the river, and decided to try some place else, knowing her friend wouldn't appreciate anyone getting in her way. She turned towards the ruins and decided this was more suited for her skills set, taking off in its direction. Once there, she plucked one of her feathers from her arm, wincing a bit as they were quite sensitive. She cupped the feather in her hands and blew on it gently before letting it slowly fall to the ground, now glowing a light orange hue. In a matter of seconds, a creature grew from the feather, and she smiled at it widely once it reached her exact height. It smiled back just a broadly, the being a perfect duplicate from herself. No one would be able to tell the difference between them.
The creature, however, could not think on its own, and it had taken many years of practice for Evaley to be able to control it properly. It was like suddenly having a second set of limbs and senses, everything doubled in an instant. To separate herself so that the other body didn't do exactly what the original did took quite a bit of concentration and skill. They didn't need to speak to each other as they both ran off and vanished into the ruins, in search of an enchanted object.

The suggestion of killing the creatures, while this was indeed a test, was not something Moray thought very highly of. They decided it would be best to search for a magical plant or stone, both things they could take without harming anything. It was true that Golems had great strength, but that didn't mean they always needed to use it to hurt anything. Something battered and broken was not what they thought of as beautiful.
Moray set out to find a plant of interest. They followed a trickling stream, opposite direction of the faux princess, and hoped for the best. Not only for themselves, but for everyone. They knew it would be devastating to someone's hopes and dreams if they were to fail here. Moray absently thought of the others. Avril, Polaris... they hoped they'd bode well.
