Setting:
Futuristic World with advanced technology. 20XX. Things like holographics exist as well as contact lenses that work as computers. Cars still remain on the ground, but technology is used a lot more in convenience. Story:About 25 years ago, the North American Government that we knew today changed drastically and out of nowhere. A young female girl named Alicia, aged 18, took control over the whole country and quickly reformatted the way of life that everyone was used to. The whole country blocked all ways for the people living within the country to have any sort of connection with other people who lived in other countries. No matter the reason, the young girl cut all connections with other countries. No one came in, no one came out. Even the internet had been restricted to only viewing and speaking to those within the same country. From then on, every newborn baby was chipped which also contained a GPS. Births within the country started to become restricted, as well as most free rights. Everyone was given a role that they must conform to. The government had total control over what happened within its walls. Surprisingly, after the people of North America met the young girl who'd seemed to come out of nowhere and took over, not one complained about their new way of life. Everyone grew accustomed at an alarmingly fast pace and soon even crime was at an all time low. It was almost as if the country had finally reached complete and utter peace. However, some individuals living in the country knew that this wasn't right. Most people around them had seemed almost... brain washed. But, any who spoke out against the new order were quickly silenced. Anyone who refused to do as they were told to were never heard from again. One day the Hond family had a young baby boy. He was chipped as usual, but after a few years the parents had removed the chip from his body. The government did not know for years, and thus the three lived a fairly unmonitored life though they were very opposed to how the world was. They taught their son about how the world used to be and how mysterious and suspicious everything was with the young girl having taken over. Unfortunately, the son's (named Jason) lack of chip was recognized when he was about 14 years old. His parents were quickly taken away from him for questioning and the son never saw them again. Instead, he was reassigned to a new family to live with from then on. It was then that the boy realized how much the people really were brain washed. Along with having a completely different mindset of the world as it was, the boy had also started to notice that things he thought started to affect the way other people responded to him. If he'd hope for them to do one thing or another, they'd always be persuaded even if they seemed unsure before. He didn't even need to argue with them. His coding and computer comprehension had also seemed to be increasing more and more as he grew. Even more than his peers. Taking it upon himself, he used his computer skills to reach out to people within the country who'd had a similar experience or a similar mind set. Using multiple proxies to hide his identity and IP, he made sure to stay hidden from any government eye as he communicated with others who also had similar feelings about the world they then lived in. After a good year or so of talking and making codewords for further protection, Jason had finally decided enough was enough. He set up a meeting spot with those he spoke with and all agreed they were going to leave their homes together and get to the bottom of everything. All of the people he'd spoke with also had some sort of power to speak of, and he thought that together they'd be able to get the information they needed and one day reverse the twisted country they now lived in. Important Information:
Rumour has it, among the people who'd spoke to Jason but decided not to meet up with him, that the young Ruler of North America had started nuking other countries. No one can confirm or deny that since the news doesn’t report anything out of the country anymore. Only people who were chipped as a child, or had personally met the ruler of their country were the ones brainwashed. That makes up 99% of the American population. There is no way to replace the chip after the human turns one years old due to a body rejection, which always ended in death. If noted properly, the ruler will make an appointment to meet with the family to handle it "another way". Those who assist those in removing their chip will be sentenced to death. Not every single human can be accurately monitored due to the population, but the ruler is limiting births to help keep the country at a maintainable and monitor-able rate. When young babies have the chip entered into their body, it causes them to be open to a new part of their mind in which certain types of powers can be manifested. However, when they are chipped it also overrides the knowledge of those powers entirely so they'll never know they posses it. If for some reason the chip is removed from the person they are no longer brainwashed and see the world for what it really is. They also become aware of their powers without and can teach themselves to use it well. The only way a person can have a chip removed and not be on the government's watch is if something gets documented incorrectly and their records state that the chip was never removed or they’d made a visit to the female ruler. The government is also unaware that the removal of the chip causes them to gain access to their powers. The chip is placed behind one’s right shoulder blade in their back. Your character is one of the people Jason had spoken to online. They did not talk a lot about their personalities just in case they were being tracked by the Government early on, nor did they use anything other than text to chat, so they know little of each other personally. All they know is that they all no longer possess a chip inside them and have some sort of power and want to change the country back to it’s rightful state. Rules:

- This Role Play is Application-Based. That means you must create your character (though a picture is not needed at first, a description of appearance is necessary on first applicants) and it will either get accepted or denied.
- This Role Play will only accept 5 people. Once all 5 positions are accepted, no more characters will be added unless stated otherwise.
- For right now, only one character per player.
- When you apply with your character sheet completed, include your favorite fruit at the end of the post to prove you read all the rules.
- This Role Play has a predetermined plot so that means you must conform to obeying the rules of the world and plot line. Failure to do so can land in disqualification from the game. Just because the Plot is predetermined doesn’t mean your ideas are all for naught, though. If you have any ideas, feel free to run it by me and we can discuss it.

Personality: A little big headed but it’s easy for him to adapt to new opinions and circumstances. Though he is pretty careful and optimistic, he still has an underlying fear that everyone else will get taken away from him and turned into brainwashed zombies. He fears that more than death itself. He can be joking, maybe a little too much so sometimes. He’s not very sensitive to people’s feelings because of his powers, but he can relate to them on occasion.
Strengths: Fast, Very Focused in small groups, Intelligent, Witty.
Weaknesses: Easily Distracted in Large Groups, Not very strong Physically, Not that compassionate about other people.
History: Raised in a small family, he had his chip removed at a very young age by his parents. Going unnoticed, he was raised without influence from the overpowering government and as of such, built up his powers fairly well. Once the government found out about his lack of a chip at age 14, they took his parents away and they were likely sentenced to death. He was reassigned to a new family to live the rest of his life. It went documented that he’d visited the ruler with his new family afterwards, but it never actually happened. After living with this new family, It wasn’t long before the boy realized how truly brainwashed everyone was and began communicating online with other people without their chips as well. Using his Code Manipulation skills, he hid the IP of him and several others to go undetected to the watchful government. After years of talking, him and many of the other people decided to meet up and figure out this big mystery once and for all. He left home and convinced his guardians that he was going to be safe, starting his life somewhere else.
Other: He has multiple freckles on his face arms and neck and multiple earrings on both ears. You can see a scar on his back from where the chip was once placed. Though he’s communicated with people a lot online, he hasn’t done a lot of it in person, so he’s a little awkward.

He is generally shy in person and thinks quite lowly of himself. He is very frail physically and emotionally. He is very worried about how he looks and would prefer to be pretty over anything else. Strengths: Stays on track, thoughtful, patient Weaknesses: worrywart, self-pitying, moody History: Elrod is a young adult male. When he was in school he was bullied mostly mentally for his girlish looks and it went unnoticed. This resulted in his low self-esteem and the worries about his looks. When he was 16 his much older cousins came to visit him and his mother, and after some talk his eldest cousin decided to initiate the removal of his chip. The cousins thought it would be best for him because they had grown up without chips and noticed how odd the younger generation had been acting. His mother did not know about this, and his two cousins ended up drugging him and removing his chip without much incident. Elrod hadn’t understood the reasoning for removing the chip but decided to trust his cousins. He hadn’t even known they would be removing anything and was told that after he woke up he would feel different. He certainly had felt different, so much so that he realized when the night came he had not needed less sleep than usual and was reacting to things that were further away from what he should’ve been able to sense. This was not what the cousins expected, for they didn’t know removing a chip would unlock powers, and were worried that they had done something wrong. They had to leave after a few days and swore to keep the secret of removing Elrod’s chip. Elrod had sworn this secrecy as well, fearing he could get his cousins in trouble if he hadn’t. As time progressed he needed less and less sleep, eventually his powers keeping him awake night after night. He knew there was something different about himself and wanted to see if there were anyone else with his problems. This was when he found Jason online. He grew fond of chatting with others who also realized how corrupt their society was and decided when the time came that he definitely wanted to meet the others. He wanted to change the way things were because he felt he was given a bad lot in life. His lack of chip has gone unnoticed by both his mother and authorities. Other: He generally has sluggish movements unless there is a specific task set before him. He has two piercings on each ear, all located on the lobes. Due to so many negative personal experiences, he finds it hard to open up to people. There is a scar shaped as an X on his back where his chip used to be. O-O-Orange u glad I read that rule |

Appearance:  Age: 19 Gender: Female (she/her) Birthday: January 21st Sexual Orientation: Asexual, Panromantic Height: 5'1" Weight: 102lb Power: Sense, Object Movement. Power Strengths: Ability to hear very well, ability to make one's self levitate. She can normally hear up to a mile away, but when focusing this can be extended to 3-5 miles depending on the noise around her. She still has trouble filtering through the sounds and can get overstimulated in noisy areas. She can levitate up to 15ft, but the higher she goes the shorter the amount of time she can hold it. For reference: At 15feet she can hold it about one minute. At one foot and below: an hour. In between times/heights vary. Personality: Quincy is very concerned with the well beings of others, although a little too nosy and curious for her own good. She tries to do make friends with everyones she meets, even if she secretly doesn't like them. It is hard to upset her personally. Strengths: Level-headed. She thinks calmly and clearly in high stress situations. Weaknesses: She can be rather blunt at times, despite having good intentions and wanting to appease others. Her physical strength is lacking greatly and she can be hard on herself if she fails at anything. She has a severe fear of animals and wild life. History: Quincy lived with a very rich family, and was thus pampered most of her life. She was held to a very high standard by her family and thus continues to hold that standard for herself. Her chip was removed during an accident where she was attacked by her family dog as a child. Her family, caring more about their dog then her, didn't report the incident and stitched her up themselves so that they wouldn't have to get rid of the animal. After the chip was removed, she was surprised to find her hearing had been enhanced exponentially. She could hear the plumbing in the walls, the heartbeats of her parents in the next room, the sound of a car pulling out of the driveway several houses down... it overwhelmed her. She couldn't leave the house for the first few years and was grateful for the fact that her family home was in the country. Her ability to levitate took longer to develop and was initially triggered by mistake. The horrible dog that had attacked her had not grown less vicious over the years, and would often still snap at her and growl if she entered the same room. She stepped on its tail by mistake and it tried to pull the same stunt it had the first attack, but suddenly she wasn't within range anymore. She had burst upwards from the floor and had latched onto the chandelier a good ten feet above her head. Her parents found her, stuck and screaming with the dog still jumping and biting the air beneath her. She found out about the meeting by pure chance (she visited a lot of sites that she probably shouldn't have been looking into; its a miracle she wasn't tracked for some of the things she read up on) and her interest was peaked. They tend to think logically rather than emotionally, and will not hesitate to abandoned a team mate if needed to save themself. Strengths: Extensive training in their powers, Quiet, respectful, logical Weaknesses: Cold, detached, paranoid, trust issues History: When Maverick was six years old, they were kidnapped from their family after a group of rebels learned about the potential of removing children's chips in order to unlock any hidden potential within them. They were drugged by the rebels while they surgically removed his chip, thus leaving as little scarring as possible so it wouldn't raise any suspicion. When they woke up, they were given their new identity, Maverick 08, and were pushed into discovering their powers. For the next 15 years, Maverick was trained in hand-to-hand combat and how to integrate their powers into their fighting technique. The rebels used an old computer (which they had Maverick power) to get in contact with Jason and sent the young soldier to meet with this man.
Maverick has forgotten everything about their past life, including their parents' names, their own name, where they originally lived and anything from their previous life due to being abducted and manipulated at such a young age. He only knew of his immediate family members, which only consisted of his parents and younger brother, as well as his older sister, who was unable to return to North America after contact with other countries cut off. Growing up, Gil was an excellent actor. He was planning on going to school for a career in acting when he was diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma, a type of cancer that emerged in his right arm. When he was 16, the cancer spread so badly that he was on the verge of death. His parents decided to go through with the surgery that would leave him with one arm and chip-less. The doctors were government officials and knew what would happen to someone without a chip, so they planned to kill him after removing the chip (because a chip in a dead man would be a waste). They discussed the method for killing him after the surgery was over. Gil regained consciousness and overheard the doctors. He realized that he couldn't just die, leaving the country as it was and never knowing what happened to his siblings. His will to not be killed must have activated his ability to fake death because when the doctors came back to examine him, they found that he was already dead. The results of the autopsy showed that the cause of death was a heart attack, likely from the cancer. It was after his body was disposed of that he made his escape and began living life under many different personas, a feat he was able to pull off thanks to his acting chops and fancy disguises. Gil now has a robotic arm that houses many different tools. He's been waiting 4 years for the day to finally confront the girl that turned their country into what it is. Gil discovered the post for the meeting while browsing through the web on one of his disposable smartphones. He'd been waiting for a post like that since he got the chip removed. Other: "Gil" is not Gil's real name. In fact, "Gil" is his eight false name, named after his favorite character who he acted as in a play. He had to discard the others when his identity was close to being compromised. Gil had a small incision scar on his back from when the chip was removed by the doctors, but has since been covered up by his prosthetic arm. She also never slacks off on her duties, guaranteeing 100% effort. Weaknesses: She is physically weak and can easily strain herself too much if she isn't careful with energy consumption (She normally isn't: she conserves all of her energy until one moment where she uses up all of it in one shot). She is also prone to bouts of frustration if she isn't successful, and lacks some common sense. History: After being cleared for testing that they weren't carrying faulty genes, they had their first child. While raising her, however, they noticed some odd behaviors, namely her not making any eye contact as well as not meeting some developmental milestones. Paranoid that Charlotte would be taken away, they removed her chip at 1 and for the most part isolated her due to their theory that she would never integrate properly in this society. Charlotte, not having any real way to interact with the world physically, she channeled her latent powers into technology, breaking into as many databases as possible for fun. During her escapades, she met a young man, Jason, along with the other members of the crew. To do something, she left home to fight for her right to exist freely. Facts: She is an undiagnosed autistic girl (I really should have put this earlier to explain a ton of her mannerisms lmao). She also has no incision scar due to how early her chip was removed. Strengths: Clever, Determined, Charismatic Weaknesses: Conniving, Arrogant, Controlling History: Growing up with divorced parents, Kaine commuted back and forth to his mother and father's houses respectively. There was a quarrel on whether or not to remove his chip, until his mother ultimately decided to do so with the help of their close neighbors. The neighbors housed a young girl, whom was also without a chip and became friends with Kaine. However, upon his chip being removed, the father had taken notice and his guardians' conflict deepened. The fear for their own safety had risen, and Kaine was being tossed back and forth more than ever. With his chip gone, he realized how limited his liberties had been, and not just because of precautionary measures to hide his secret. Overall, many of his interests were put to the sidelines as he was often dragged into the squabbles of his family and succumbed to the neediness of his parental figures. Yet his decisions were often met with hostility at the suspicion he had been favoring one over the other. Kaine was growing tired of walking on eggshells, and with the neighbor girl who had faced similar adversaries in life; they ran away together. During that period, they had nurtured their abilities to survive and even exploit if it made ends meet. Altering the skin of another was substantially easier for Kaine to pick up, and he did so with little strain. While he harbors the ability to move living organisms with his mind; it has unfortunately proved straining and tiresome. Ranged targets are an annoyance especially, making him prefer those in a closer vicinity. Luckily, with the help of his friend, they were able to achieve a balance to meet one another's needs in the ability department. While they have now parted ways, Kaine still holds a piece of peculiar technology they squandered from a civilian. One that allowed him to speak with others seemingly like himself and his old friend. Curious of the faces on the other side, he decides to meet up with "Jason" and those who had been whispering on the web among him.

History: A young and promising surgeon who was respected among her peers despite her disinterest in them, Molly planned on living a quiet life dedicated to picking around at things... whether it be robotics or somebody's insides. However, when the chip implanted in Molly's sholder began to malfunction, she tossed those ideals aside with an unplanned removal of the chip, the action she thought best at the time. While she had managed to successfully remove her own chip, Molly knew it was only a matter of time before she was discovered and punished for her misconduct, which lead to her seeking refuge on the web. The doctor eventually came across Jason, and while his ideals were entertaining at most Molly knew that it was only a matter of time before somebody as high profile as her was descovered. During the year she spent without her chip, Molly barely took notice of any changes that had occurred in her own self, save for a growing sense of rebellion she chalked up to spending too much time communicating with Jason and his Peers. However, several weeks before leaving her position to join Jason's group the doctor successfully sensed danger one evening, only to narrowly escape an electrical fire. Since then Molly has become more aware of her senses and ability to predict misfortune, though she is still untrained and part of her even believes it may all just be superstition. Other: Molly's prosthetic leg is of unknown make or model. Has reading/work glasses. Her scar from the chip removal is larger than her usually work, at about the size of one's thumb. Mangos! |

10:36am; Tuesday, May 9th, 20XXThe sun shined brightly upon the quiet streets, only the sound of the light spring breeze and birds chirping to accompany the ears. Not many were out and about at this time, most either at their respectable jobs or alongside classmates within a learning facility. That being said, a few individuals could be seen walking along outside. Some had children with them and others were taking a walk for their own leisure. Whatever the reason may be, the day surely painted the adjective “peaceful” onto the canvas.
Peaceful…
Peaceful was not the word that echoed in one redhead’s mind, though. Quite the opposite. No matter how the world tried to portray this seemingly wonderful country as “peaceful” and “ideal”, this young man knew it was all a huge facade. And yet, there were so many people unaware of the whole thing. “That’s alright, though…” Thought the tall freckled man as he briskly walked to his destination. “We’re going to open everyone’s eyes and make them see…”
“...Make them see what really surrounds them.”
Sitting in a lightly shaded park, Jason Hond set his eyes upon his laptop, reviewing various kinds of information that was set on the screen before him. That right there was the information about the very meetup that was about to happen. It was kind of crazy how all of this came to be. Some of these people that had agreed to form this group together were from different areas altogether. Some traveled far distances, others short distances. But it seemed that no matter what, everyone’s goal was in the same place. One of Jason’s powers was set around code and computer manipulation. These power gave him the ability to hide his IP and location as well as put up several other securities to keep his information hidden and seen by certain people and certain people only. These sort of powers also stretched to said people, doing all he could to keep their information hidden and as tucked away from the watchful government eye as possible. It’s not to say that his powers worked perfectly every time, but let’s just say over the past several years he’s had time to trip and fall and learn from his mistakes. Innocent internet people may or may not have been blamed for a few of these instances. Another of his powers had to do with thought manipulation. If he felt at all worried about those in which he agreed to meet up with, he was fully prepared to use his powers to try to convince them to leave. He wasn’t completely sure it’d work, but it was still worth putting his faith in. Looking over his Meet-Up post, he verified the information for about the 18th time before closing his laptop. The information he shared with the group was minimal but easy to understand. ShadingB. NYP. RH. PC.

It was honestly a simple code to crack if you knew it, but they believed it was vague enough to get by without authorities being able to join in on this meetup of theirs. When Jason had grown familiar and trusting of his internet buddies who shared in his views, he agreed that they all should begin sharing a few vital things about themselves. “RH” Red Hair. That was one of the first things Jason had shared with the group. It was a small detail, but one he felt comfortable sharing, and one people could remember after getting to know him. The group had decided on a location fairly early on in their discussions. Despite it seeming a bit risky, when they considered it all, the location still seemed to work for their ever anticipated meet even a few years later. “NYP” New York Park. There were several New York Parks, but only the people who’d been around long enough would remember which one they were referring to. “ShadingB” helped distinguish this park from another. This specific park that Jason sat in was a particularly shady one that a couple people from their group recalled enjoying from their childhood. With that memory and personal detail in mind, they knew it was a good idea to use that keyword for the initial meet. The B referred to where Jason’s location would be, and that was a Bench. “PC” was simply Purple Clothing to help further distinguish himself from anyone else who may have been at the park at the time. It’s possible that someone else could’ve been at that same park with orange hair and purple clothing, however to piece it all together, the last step was to approach him by name. Jason had made sure to mention his name only twice since he began talking to these people. Once when they’d decided they wanted to meet up, and once more when they’d started to plan for the meet up. With all this in place, Jason felt it was hard for just anyone to be able to go to this location, at this time, and call him out by name and it be anyone other than his trusted pals. But, anything could happen so he had to be prepared. The people in which he’d be seeing soon also shared similar posts, but even smaller in text. They really only specified their hair, skin and clothing color using single letters, much like how Jason’s post was done. But that was enough so long as they did as they agreed and came up to Jason as if they had been friends all their life and were meeting for the first time in years. Jason put a hand over his stomach. He was nervous… Butterflies danced in his abdomen and he was stuck thinking about this whole situation over and over again as his eyes darted from the time on his laptop, to his lap and then slowly up to look around himself. He mustn’t look suspicious… He told that to himself over and over as the butterflies took attack on his insides, hitting him all around to where he felt like he was going to barf. Even his hands started to sweat.
“Now’s not the time to get like this… C’mon Jason, god damnit…” He cursed at himself as he looked around the park, eyes looking over any figure that looked similar to the descriptions he was given, whether or not they neared the location. A familiar thought dawned upon him as he sat there in his lonesome though… When was the last time… or first time, he’d ever really met with a friend in person, anyway? Was he really as prepared as he thought he was? Welcome to :Rəset:! You may now post with your character meeting Jason for the first time! It’s crucial that your character follows the rules that they’d established before the meetup which is to approach him, saying his name, and act as if you two had been friends all your life! Once in closer vicinity it’s okay to be a little more honest and actual introduce yourself!

Elrod's legs were barely cooperating with him that day. Of course it was THE day, the day he met with people that he didn't even know. The day he revealed himself to be- well, as he was. Very, very underwhelming. He had tried so hard to present himself as something of merit for that day. With the exchanging of many different outfits between himself and his closet, he finally decided there was no helping what could not be helped. His woes in his home translated into his casually frantic searching of NYP. This was likely a mistake, but he just couldn't let the opportunity pass. He had to meet the others who were like him. The others who knew what was wrong. He could have sworn that he walked around the entire park twice. At this rate he was going to be late to the meetup- but, what if it was fake? An elaborate prank set up by his old peers to somehow get him to come out and make a fool of himself. That wouldn't be entirely unreasonable. Everyone hated him anyway. But, there was the small voice in the back of his head telling him that he just needed to keep it up a little longer. He had to search for Jason. RH. PC. Red hat. Purple clothing. Red Hat. Purple Clothing. He was in the shade, and Elrod had searched the shady areas as much as he could but he had just not seen anyone with a red hat. Maybe he forgot to wear the hat? Maybe he lost his hat? Those were probable options, but it also widened the field of possible people to approach. He didn't want to be wrong. He could jeopardize everything if he were wrong. Unless he already messed it up. What if he was already wrong? Did he forget something? He remembered to bring his organic protein bar, that definitely wasn't missing. He checked his pocket again to make sure. Was he forgetting something else? He reached into his other pocket and pulled out his scribblings from when they first set up the meetup. ShadingB. NYP. RH. PC. He was in the right place. It was 10:40, so he was about to be on time, and he was on the lookout for someone with a red hat and purple clothing. He scanned his surroundings again, making sure no one popped up when he wasn't paying attention. There were some odd people around, but no one matched the description of Jason. He was about to give up home and head home. The whole journey had been a stupid idea and he was stupid to have believed there were people like him around. It was all. A big. Joke. That's when he looked back up and saw a young man sitting on a bench under some trees, laptop in hand. He was wearing purple clothing, with bright red- Hair. Elrod unknowingly donned a bright scarlet shade across his cheeks. He sighed again, mentally punched himself, and headed over to where the boy was sitting. As he approached his heart began to pound rapidly as he realized he was quite possibly about to change his life. "E-ex-cuse- uh-" NAME you idiot, NAME! " J-JASON! Co...rrect? H-haven't... seen you... in a while." He was right. He messed it all up. |
