Elrod barely gripped at his hand, displaying another sign of sheepish behavior. His face resembled a beet, being completely flushed in a deep red; his eyes barely met his own. It was obvious such situations were uncomfortable, even downright difficult for the poor fellow to function in. While dismissing it as a result of timidness would seem acceptable; it appeared to be a little more severe than such. For the brief moment their skin met, Kaine had used the opportunity to inspect the surface of his skin. He kept eye contact (or, tried to being his partner seemed much too flustered to look his way) and focused intently, utilizing his ability to do the inspection for him. Nothing felt out of the ordinary, minus the scar upon his back. If that meant anything however, then it was most likely proof of his missing chip. It'd be more suspicious if he didn't have one. "No, please, it's alright!" He smiled, "I had the same thought... I was rather nervous on my walk over," his hand reached to scratch his head, imitating a nervous chuckle. "Why don't we sit down? I'm actually a little tired from the walk, if you don't mind." Kaine pointed to the bench just a small distance away, not far from the group so that they wouldn't be separated from the others.
...As he waited for a reply, Kaine measured the distance once more with his eyes, drawing in a deep breath. He was preparing himself for the chance Elrod would move his feet, and once he was at a comfortable enough distance between him and the bench, Kaine would focus his prowess upon his leg. Enough so that he would drag one of his feet unfortunately across one of the unevenly placed stones in the path...

Enough so that he would drag one of his feet unfortunately across one of the unevenly placed stones in the path... Elrod was relieved to hear that Kaine wasn't as comfortable as he let on with this situation, though he oddly couldn't sense the beating of his heart to be as rapid as his own was. He must have gotten over his nerves by now... Elrod nodded his head as he stepped further away from the group, feeling a bit relieved that he didn't need to stand near them for much longer. He attempted some small talk on the way. "Was it a long journey for yo-" To Elrod's horror, he felt himself tripping and headed towards the ground. No...!! Not here, in front of everyone...!

Kaine's eyes narrowed, watching as he took the first step... the second... the third... and then his voice called out. "E-Elrod! Don't drag your feet!" As planned, the boy came tumbling forward, and Kaine had sprinted to his "rescue." Before the dark-haired fellow could fall face-first onto the pavement, his arms wrapped around him to halt the accident. He propped Elrod back up, before loosening his grip on him. "Phew!" he wiped the sweat from his brow, "That was close, are you alright? I'm sorry, I hadn't realized the pavement was a little uneven back there..." A look of concern struck his face, "Let's sit down, okay?" Kaine motioned for him to follow, feigning ignorance as he purposely focused his gaze onto Elrod and not to the ground below. If Elrod was the anxious boy he presented himself to be, then he'd surely take it out on himself. So he needed to reassure him that it didn't only happen to him. As Kaine walked toward the bench, trying to speak to Elrod while doing so, his legs had conveniently tangled themselves upon attempting to multitask. Thus, resulting in Kaine tripping over his own feet and falling nearly on his back. He had caught himself slightly with his hands, but laughed nervously. "A-Ah. Sorry. I guess I'm in a jumble as well!" He flashed an awkward smile to the boy.

I guess I'm in a jumble as well!" He flashed an awkward smile to the boy. Elrod felt completely mortified, especially how Kaine had to catch him. Of all things to happen today, I had to trip. I had to trip. He severely hoped no one else saw him, but in his heart he "knew" everyone saw and everyone was thinking how stupid he looked. He was thankful Kaine caught him, but felt utterly humiliated that he even needed to be caught. Through the anxieties over himself, he had nearly missed Kaine tripping. "You're fine," He said quietly, soon forgetting Kaine's trip. Kaine seemed very kind, from what he said so far. He greeted him personally, talked to him, caught him- such a nice person didn't deserve his company. This thought made him hesitate the rest of the short walk to the bench, but he didn't want to upset Kaine. He remembered how he'd judged him to be someone intimidating when he first introduced himself. His power seemed so dangerous, but he was so nice in comparison. He gave a slight sigh to himself and looked up at Kaine. He was giving him a smile that seemed embarrassed, or something close to it. Elrod smiled back slightly, feeling himself more at ease. He continued to walk to the bench.

Kaine smiled as Elrod made his way over, scooting over slightly to make sure there was enough room after he had picked himself up. "Try not to worry so much," he nodded, "It's our first time out after all. I'm sure we won't be the last to do it. In fact-" Kaine lifted his hand above his eyes, his lips pursed and his eyes squinting as he gazed on. "It looks like Dr..ei?" he paused, as though confirming to himself that was the blonde one's name, "Well, Drei's face looks a little red as well. I'm sure he's got a case of cold feet in one way or the other," his lips tugged at a smile. A small, stifled laughter broke out under his breath upon watching Charles point at the food stand with puppy eyes. "Ah, looks like little-league is getting hungry. I'm pretty surprised such a young kid was able to make it out here. Though, that's not necessarily a bad thing, hm? She probably has a good head on her shoulders," he nodded, flashing a smile to Elrod as he chattered. "Everyone's a bit different than how I imagined them... but it's alright. Heh, may I ask what you were expecting? Oh- but if it's awkward, you don't have to though." He rested his chin in his palm, leaning forward to rest his elbow against his thigh as he peered at the group. His eyelids drooped, allowing himself to relax in the partial sunlight, before peeking them open once more. "Enjoying the sun can be just as nice as talking."

Elrod instinctively looked up to who Kaine was referring to and saw that Drei certainly looked embarrassed. Elrod gave a small smile at the observation, continuing to numbly watch the interaction between Drei and Jason. Kaine soon changed the subject to Charlie, and Elrod looked over to her as well. He nodded slightly at Kaine's comment about her age. Elrod avoided eye contact through the majority of Kaine's ramblings, still embarrassed about tripping. Can't believe I did that. I could've at least watched where I was going... Elrod was surprised at the question, and searched his brain for what to say. There's no way he could say he expected to at least be prettier than one person there- that wasn't polite at all. "I- am surprised about the little girl." He said as he went to scan those who arrived. "Gil is about what I expected. He was quite talkative online and he seems to be the same." Elrod trailed a bit, thinking about something more to say about the others. He hadn't known what to expect from Drei at all, and Jason seemed about the same. "You're pr-" Elrod stopped himself immediately. There was no way he should have mentioned that at all, but now that he started talking he had to finish his thought. He redirected his comment, however, to Kaine's demeanor. "You're nice... I guess I didn't really think about how you would act," luckily Elrod managed to speak without stuttering that time. He felt he shouldn't worry too much, at least with Kaine. He seemed to really understand people.

As if the words came out on their own accord, Drei answered him promptly without any sort of hesitation or thought. "To be frank I'm rather nervous right now. Anxious, even, about meeting up with everyone after months and months of faceless interactions and what they'll think of me. And after tripping over my intro, well I'm just trying to ignore the fact that it even took place." It was only after his deluge of words finished flowing forth that he paused, a nearly inaudible gasp caught in his throat before he clapped his hand over his mouth. Words seemed to just spill from his companion's mouth, showing little resolve or restraint for what it was he was saying. Once Drei was done, the reaction was absolutely priceless. Oops. Maybe Jason should've been more careful with his power around him...? The ginger couldn't help the expression on his face turn to an even more amused one, his lips stretching seemingly half way across his face into a twisted grin. "Yeah?" He inquired, pressing his lips together before straightening his posture. The glare only amused the man more, the itch of power he had over him just now making his toes tingle with excitement. He was sure something like this wouldn't effect their relationship too much. Hesitantly bringing a hand forward, he touched the man's shoulder and snickered. "Of course I do. I share very similar feelings, on several points you touched on." He tried not to snicker, his sense of humor showing a whole lot more in person. Reckless humor, but a sense of one no less. "I got to say, I think I brought together quite the team! I was doubtful at first when I saw a few of your appearances, but..." Jason lied, looking over Drei. He was never all that doubtful, save for the younger one. "I can see the people I met online so long ago in each and every one of you. It's making me a bit giddy." Jason smiled, surveying the group in his mind. Everyone seemed to be conversing among themselves. Good. It seems the awkwardness and tense air had already dispersed.

As soon as the moment arose, Jason took the chance to slip out of Gil's grasp. He let him, realizing that it might have been a little awkward, seeing as they only actually just met in real life. Gil closed his eyes and smiled. The weather was nice - little bits of sunshine filtering through the shade of the tree they were under, fallen leaves dancing on the breeze. He was enjoying today, in the company of the others. He always felt connected with them when they where talking online, and if anything, meeting them here today only deepened his respect for them, even if some weren't what he expected. Ever since the whole surgery thing, Gil refrained from making relationships. He couldn't even contact people that he once knew. He was supposed to be "dead" after all. He needed to be able to disappear in an instant. Or something like what happened 3 years ago would occur again.
Gil sat there, the breeze playing through his hair. Jason had gone of to speak with Three, who seemed a bit more reserved than Elrod, if that was even possible. Gil thought Three couldn't be all that bad with the joke he made about his username earlier. Though it was a little... dry. Prince had also taken Elrod somewhere. That left him with Major. Speaking of...
Gil opened his eyes in shock upon hearing Major's stomach growl. He turned towards her and saw that that she was pointing somewhere. He followed her finger and noticed a hot dog stand not too far off.
Just like that, I've become her father figure, he said to himself. He nodded and put his hand on her head. "Got it! You're hungry right? You and me both..." he chuckled. Then, standing up, he got the others' attention and said "Hey, are any of you guys hungry? Let's go eat! Can't save the world on an empty stomach."

Charlie ushered the rest of the group with her hand as she gripped Gil's hand and sauntered to the stand. Now was the time to-
Oh no.
Ordering here would be a pain in the ass, especially without her mother to help out; pointing wouldn't work here, dear lord no. Sighing to herself, she focused a small pocket of energy to her brain, stimulating the prefrontal cortex. Charlie grumbled mentally that she had to user her powers for such a stupid region, but she had to cut her losses.
"I'd like a coney island hot dog please!" She smoothly responded, pulling out a crisp 10 dollar bill to pay for Gil's snack as well.
"Whad'ya want Gil?" She asked, a huge toothy grin on her face, before letting the energy take its course.

A soft chuckle escaped him, "He really is full of energy. When I walked in he had his arm around Jason; he doesn't seem very shy." Though I do wonder where he got that arm. Had this been the result of one of his more risky escapades? Alas, it was but an assumption that he picked up potential dicey behavior in the first place. Still, it didn't hurt to be on one's toes. Kaine had raised an eyebrow in response to the boy's abrupt halt, but lowered it upon the continuation of his words. A faint smile crossed his lips, "Oh? Thanks. I didn't really speak much online... so I doubt anyone had a strong impression of me, really." He nodded, yet his thoughts mulled over his words in a heightened stir. As though digesting their meaning, his mind continually chewed and gnawed at the compliment. "Nice." What did it mean to him? Certainly little coming from a stranger he had met moments ago. While its significance was seemingly weightless, it singed the tissues of his brain, securing a spot for itself among his ego. It would bury itself there along with the rest of them. ...Could you say it any louder? Kaine was snapped out of his daze upon the asinine announcement ringing throughout his eardrums. For a moment he considered if the inference from earlier truly had been just an assumption and nothing more. One would think before they said something like that aloud, or so he would hope. He shook his head, before straightening out his posture to glance back at Elrod, "Are you hungry? Looks like they're heading out for a bite. We should probably follow, and with that, he propped himself back on his feet. Kaine proceeded to walk a few steps forward, before looking over his shoulder to affirm he wasn't falling behind, "Are you coming?"

The reaction that the man had to Jason's behavior hadn't phased him one bit, more amused than anything. These sort of things didn't bother him too much. The fact that he'd swayed away from his touch did, though. He'd never had much practice with the whole... touching and being comfortable around other people in the physical form. Neither of his parents were very touchy people, at least not to him, so he didn't get used to it that way. Then when he'd had a sudden change in guardians he was especially not interested in them treating him with any sort of affection. Mindless zombies weren't his preferred cuddle partners, that's for sure. Jason had always been the quiet kid in class as well. Kept to himself for the most part. He had spoken up some times, but it never did leave a great impression. But that was a story for another day. Retracting his hand quickly, almost as if trying to hide the fact he'd extended it altogether. He listened to Drei speak intently, looking back to the blonde's eyes and how it looked at the different people in the area. "Indeed." He smiled in agreement, his left hand readjusting the position he had on his laptop that I totally didn't forget to mention that he'd grabbed when he stood up. "Haha, true as well. I don't think I will ever get over that... I really should ask how old she is, though... I think I'd have a heart attack if she said 7 or something..." Then, standing up, he got the others' attention and said "Hey, are any of you guys hungry? Let's go eat! Can't save the world on an empty stomach." Drei raised an eyebrow and looked back over his shoulder towards the loudmouth, our speech isn't exactly protected by proxies in the real world, chatterbox, and rolled his eyes. "Blabbermouth aside, that's not a bad idea," he looked to Jason before gesturing towards Gil with the tilt of his head. "Shall we?" Jason was probably one of the least worried about the other blonde's yell out. At this point, he wasn't really worried about other people finding all of them there and knowing exactly who they were. If anyone had payed mind to Gil, they likely thought he was just being some goofy college student with fantasy role play interests. With a smile at Drei's reaction, Jason nodded in response. "Absolutely. I'm pretty hungry!" Jason decided not to mention he'd shown up to the city about three hours ahead of schedule and was sitting on the bench for about an hour. He also hadn't had a bite to eat since his flight early that morning. Charlie ushered the rest of the group with her hand as she gripped Gil's hand and sauntered to the stand. Now was the time to- Oh no. Ordering here would be a pain in the ass, especially without her mother to help out; pointing wouldn't work here, dear lord no. She smoothly responded, pulling out a crisp 10 dollar bill to pay for Gil's snack as well. "Whad'ya want Gil?" She asked, a huge toothy grin on her face, before letting the energy take its course. Walking at a quicker than normal pace, Jason caught up to the two and stood behind them, eyeing what this little stand had to offer. Nothing especially good for you, but it's not like he was worried about keeping a strict diet or anything. Food was food. Once Charlie had suddenly spoken up out of nowhere, it did shock him quite a bit. Was this seriously the same girl from earlier? He hadn't learned much about this sort of power of hers, so this was quite jarring for him. Once he was done being shocked, he settled on what to get, purchasing a chili cheese dog. God he hoped he could keep it off his clothes...

Kaine proceeded to walk a few steps forward, before looking over his shoulder to affirm he wasn't falling behind, "Are you coming?" Elrod wasn't hungry at the moment, his nerves were to thank for that. Even if he was hungry- he'd be more likely to eat the healthy snack he brought than to eat a disgusting tube of slimy meat. He said nothing to give those thoughts away, though his face gave a bit of a grimace, and got up to follow Kaine. He skipped a bit to catch up and was soon just a step behind the man. He didn't want to be left behind in the group, so he'd follow despite having no intentions to order anything. He made sure to watch where he was going this time.

Kaine grinned as Elrod scurried to his feet, even going so far as to skip a few steps of the way there. The stand adorned a bright banner and rather silly font as the ends of of the letters curved into swirls. He couldn't say he was fond of these types of things in general; there was a time in which he actually looked forward to such indulgences as this. Though, it had lost its luster sometime after he left the care of his parents. For awhile, he even grew weary of such greasy food when it was all that was available for a time. He eventually came around to it again, but definitely not to the same extent as before.
The park was a considerable distance from his apartment, and he hadn't thought to eat anything before he began his trek. Gil and Charlie looked as though they ordered, and the ginger had just finished requesting his. He hadn't wanted anything complicated, and decided to stick with a regular hot dog with ketchup. He asserted himself into the group, stepping closer as he spoke up, "There's a table over there, maybe once our orders are done we should take a seat?" he pointed across from them, lifting an eyebrow. "We could talk as a group then," he smiled.

Gil was amazed at Charlie's display of power. He would have never thought to use it like that. Although he was impressed, it only served to deepen his envy of the other members and their abilities. They all seemed so incredibly smart and cunning. He had to admit, it made him feel a little out of place. But then again, there is a little girl among their ranks. He can't be the only one who feels left out. Gil studied the menu for a bit, hand on his chin. Hmm... all of these hotdogs look a little on the small side. What to get, what to get... That! Gil pointed towards the King Dog, the biggest and most expensive hotdog offered at this particular stand. "I'd like one King Dog, gramps. Ketchup and mustard, please. Ah," he said, turning towards Charlie, "You don't have to pay for me, Major. I got this one." Gil reached into his back pocket, fishing for his wallet. "Just... give me a sec..." Many seconds passed, and Gil was still searching in his back pocket for his wallet. He couldn't feel anything. Oh no... He began frantically searching all of his pockets for his wallet, but to no avail. No..! he screamed in his mind... "I LOST MY WALLET!" Gil blurted while gripping at his head, "I'm so stupid I could die!" Realizing that he just said that out, he flushed a furious shade of red, looking around nervously. "Ehehe..." The vendor watched him with squinted eyes. They were obviously running out of patience. Gil laughed awkwardly in response, then sighed, shoulders drooping. "Sorry, Major. I'm no good. Looks like you'll have to pay for your big bro after all." "Since you're paying, I'll have the same as you!"
After getting his hot dog, the others started showing up. "G-good idea. I'll head over first!" Gil replied, hurriedly walking to the table.

"Oh, ok!" She grinned, barely understanding the situation as she slapped another 5 on the table. Almost with too much ease. Oh well, she'd have to tell them later why that was the case; that was a fun story. She was about to turn around and drag Gil with her to the rest of the crew until she caught a glimpse of his puppy eyes. She cocked her head to the side to understand the situation better, to at least some avail.
Even in her lack of the most basic understanding of human emotion, she could tell that he was sad. Immediately after this realization, took the older man's hand in her oversize sleeve and led him to the picnic table with everyone else, using her spare hand to gulf down her hot dog.
"W-We'll find it!" She reassured, with bits of chili and onion on her face that she forgot to wipe off. Heck, she didn't even bother to get napkins outside of what the vendor wrapped her meal in.
