He walked carefully around the table and sat at the very edge of the bench, furthest he could, on the side that the blonde was sitting in. The other side seemed a bit too crowded with the loud Gil and the grabby girl. It was then that he finally joined them at the table, taking Charlie's spot. He immediately opened his laptop, blocking out all the rambling from the people at the table. Gil was glad that Jason and Elrod had joined them at the table. Gil peeked at Elrod, who had taken a seat next to Drei, albeit much further down. Gil knew that Elrod was an extremely shy person, but he couldn't just let him distance himself from the rest of the team. They had all gathered in the first place because they were unsatisfied with the way the world was and wanted answers. That was their strongest bond, and Gil had to believe that he didn't meet these exact people online purely by chance. Somehow, he felt that they were meant to help each other solve more than just the problem at hand. Perhaps they were also meant to help each other out, in more ways than one. Gil didn't think he could do much to relieve Elrod's sadness at the current moment as they realistically only just met, but he'd been interacting with Sun for years. He might not have known much about Elrod, per se, but he did about the ever reliable Sun. Man, this is depressing. Oh well. It'll either work or it won't. Gil took a breath and approached Elrod, leaning down, sighing, and flicking him on the forehead. "What's the matter, Sun? You're sitting so far away. Did Drei over there pass gas?" he jested, sliding in right next to Elrod close enough to not be heard by anyone else unless they used an ability. "I'm glad to finally meet you, Sun. All of you guys, really. I was alone before meeting you all. In a way, I guess I was just like you at the time - I kept people at a distance. The only difference between you and I is that I did it to survive. So why are you doing it?" He paused, giving Elrod some time to think. "You don't have to tell me now. But get this: You're a lot stronger than you might think. I have a lot of respect for you," Gil smiled. "And I look forward to seeing you smile." He clapped Elrod on his back before heading back to his seat with his arms behind his head. As he was passing Drei, he cracked a wicked grin, quickly lunging towards him slightly, hoping to trick him into thinking that he was going for his fries when he really just wanted to incite a reaction. "Just kidding. Relax, bucko" "So, once we all finish eating I was thinking it was about time we get going to our next destination, yeah?" He tried to scoot things right along. "If everyone is still hungry, we can stop by a place on the way there, but by the looks of it, everyone is having their fill, plus some." Gil was almost back to his seat when Jason made his announcement. "OHHHHH! Are we finally getting started, boss?" Gil questioned excitedly, stopping beside Kaine. "I'll go get Major! Huh? Wait, where is Major? Oh!" She pushed herself off the table and moved to a nearby tree, the commotion dissipating to a more manageable background noise. Thankfully, she was in near sight of the rest of the group: she had experiences running off the few times she was in public. Gil had spotted the brunette child a short distance away by a tree. He ran up to her and lowered himself to her level, though he spoke loud enough for anyone at the picnic table to hear. "You must be tired, Major. I was actually getting a little sleepy, too" He said, letting loose a slight yawn. "Looks like J's about to reveal what's next on our agenda. He's pretty amazing, don't you think? Organizing all of this... it must've been stressful. I actually wouldn't be surprised if he blew a fuse. Hehe... I don't think I could ever do what he's achieved in a hundred years. Hey," Gil said, turning around and showing his back to Charlie. "Want a piggy back ride?"

A hand partially covered his mouth as the corner of his lips could be spot in a curl, clearly amused at the effect of the prodding. Even though he replied in a rather snide tone that almost begged at him to string it along further- for damage control reasons it would most likely be best to stop there. The boy had hastily removed his hand from his neck and shoved another fry into his mouth lickety-split. He was definitely territorial when it came to food. Kaine had finished up his own as he swallowed the last bite and wiped his hands off pronto, being avert to the feeling of grease of his hands.
When he glanced upwards, he was surprised to see Elrod had silently slipped past them to take a seat at the far end. He was still, undoubtedly, uncomfortable in his own skin during the whole confrontation. Gil was next to him, leaning over and whispering something inaudible to Kaine. The paranoia itched at him momentarily but was cut off by Jason's uncouth announcement. As with no regard to the others, he finished his statement with a roll of the eyes. It was unbecoming of their designated events coordinator. Rude, even. What's the thorn in his side? Whatever it was had him staring at the receptacle of fries with a burning contempt in his eyes. Yeesh. Though curiosity did grip at his mind at the possibilities of their next location. Whether or not Kaine had actually planned to stick it out for this long was a question to him, but he supposed it was more entertaining to humor them than heading back to an empty apartment for another night.
Gil had scurried past him, zipping across the commotion to reach the short-stack's side. Apparently two members were distressed now. He may have unknowingly contributed to the tiny one's breakdown on accident, to which he tried to turn the other cheek in response. He wasn't good with kids; he accepted this already. It was better not to add more fuel to the fire, and just let the expert handle it. He bit at his lip slightly, a tad bit disappointed at the turn of events.
Alas, he might as well hear what Jason had to say next as there was no point in standing around idly much longer. He seated himself opposite from Jason, scooting next to Drei regardless of how that might turn sour. However, Gil and Charlie positioned themselves on the other side earlier, so he had no right to complain as Kaine wasn't about to insert himself in their spots. His eyes stole a glance at the four-eyes as to make sure he kept a comfortable distance so he wouldn't blow a fuse. Yet, a hint of muddy condiments could be spotted dribbling slightly under the jacket to where he had just held his fries out of reach. The container must have spilled over during his frenzy and left a muddy print. He did have a few leftover napkins, being that he was often wary of accidents like this. It was a bit of a gamble to offer any now, but perhaps it could diffuse the tension for the time being. He had an image to keep up at the end of the day.
"Jason," Kaine had tapped at Drei's side under the table, bringing attention to the leftover napkins in his hand, "May I ask where we're going next?"

Her ears perked at the sound of footsteps breaking the calm of dissonant arguing, Gil opting to check on her condition. She collected her breath and stood up, listening to Gil's announcement, nodding to Jason's plan to finally get something done. In her listening session, she shook her head at Gil's request for a piggyback ride. Instead, she just walked down with him to the table, sitting between Gil and Jason. The little girl also crossed her fingers under her sleeves for hope that this wouldn't go south like her little theft of 2 cents worth of fries.

Did Drei over there pass gas?" he jested, sliding in right next to Elrod close enough to not be heard by anyone else unless they used an ability. Elrod had certainly not expected to be approached, not even by the loud Gil, but it had happened anyway- and of all things, he flicked him and joked around. Elrod didn't laugh, but listened intently to what Gil had to say, with wide glassy eyes. Just like me? It's not that he was trying to push people away. He really did want to make friends, but with him messing everything up, it seemed nearly impossible. Elrod once again began to worry, but kept listening to Gil. Elrod indeed did not tell him a thing, not that there was anything to tell, but he sat looking at Gil with astonishment. Stronger? He respects me? It made no sense at all. Nothing he's ever done, in company of the others or otherwise, would give anyone the impression he was strong. Why did Gil say such things? Why? It made no sense at all. Gil is too nice of a person. He's too nice. What Gil said just then felt downright embarrassing. Looking forward to see him smile? He really thought that? Elrod could feel his face heating up. What an embarrassing guy. The embarrassment was topped off with that final clap on the back, which caused Elrod to flinch visibly. Elrod took to staring ahead with his wide-eyed, flushed expression. Despite how embarrassing it was, Gil was- Nice. The tiniest of smiles made its way onto Elrod's face without his permission.

Drei scarfed down the rest of his food in silence, despite being keenly aware of the dark and broody aura emanating from one side, albeit as far as humanly possible while still sitting on the bench. Knowing he had nothing of value to say to the bundle of sadness next to him, he didn't bother to look up, insteading continuing to steadily munch through his remaining lunch until a flustered string of profanity fell from the ginger's lips. A quick flick of his gaze told him all he needed to know: that laptop was now the world's most expensive chili holder. A grimace became visible on his face for a split second. If he'd thought Gil was irresponsible for losing track of his wallet, then this was a whole new level of careless. Was it just natural for superhumans and geniuses to be stupid in other ways? He thought to himself and his own constant battle of calculation and anxiety before shrugging a little bit, getting to the bottom of his food. Seems like it.
"So, once we all finish eating I was thinking it was about time we get going to our next destination, yeah?" He tried to scoot things right along. "If everyone is still hungry, we can stop by a place on the way there, but by the looks of it, everyone is having their fill, plus some." Drei could feel those last words boring straight into his psyche, glancing up from the nearly empty tray to see a scowling Jason fixated on the food that launched their first little conflict. Damn. Guess I really did get on their bad side by snapping at the kid. Nice going. His expression didn't change despite the slight sinking feeling in his gut, which he immediately tried to distance with, Well it should be understandable, right? They'd be stupid to not understand how that could possibly be annoying... A darker figure had made its way into his peripheral vision on the other side, and a tap snapped the blonde out of his flurry of thoughts, the man blinking a couple of times before returning back to reality. "Jason," Kaine had tapped at Drei's side under the table, bringing attention to the leftover napkins in his hand, "May I ask where we're going next?" The nudge came from Romeo, the blonde's expression returning to its default annoyed as he realized that he'd come sidling in on his right after that last attempt to annoy him. It took him a moment until he glanced towards where the sheep-headed man was gesturing, only to see the wad of napkins in his hand. What? Quietly inspecting himself as he awaited Jason's response to the question, he noticed that in the chaos he ended up with the carton's stamp of approval, a faint 90 degree angle marking made out of chili. His face was now wiped clean of most of his irritation towards the Prince, Drei silently nodding and accepting the napkin. Thoroughly he sponged the grease and stain out of his jacket, his gaze moving between what he was focusing on and their intrepid leader as he steadily worked to get this unwanted print out of his jacket as promptly as possible.

Gil was almost back to his seat when Jason made his announcement. "OHHHHH! Are we finally getting started, boss?" Gil questioned excitedly, stopping beside Kaine. "I'll go get Major!" Boss? Did he say boss? That's more like it! Jason's expression softened a little, already feeling reassurance after having had his spotlight taken away not long before. "Good idea." Jason nodded at Gil's offer to go get the smaller one who'd ran off when he wasn't paying much attention. What is she even doing? Shrugging, Jason didn't really care so long as she wasn't doing anything suspicious. He was probably the most suspicious of her and one of the other men at this point... It's not like they were doing anything out of character from their online personas... But for those two, Jason found it to be just a strange way to act in general. "Jason," Kaine had tapped at Drei's side under the table, bringing attention to the leftover napkins in his hand, "May I ask where we're going next?" Jason didn't hear anything Gil had said about him, focusing on Kaine who'd spoken up. He hadn't heard the Prince talk to him in some time now, so he wanted to pay extra attention now even if it was only a question in response to his own suggestion. Smiling a little wider than before and sitting up straight, the redhead closed his laptop with his right hand and drummed his fingers against the top of it, as if to make his own drum roll of sorts. "Well, I'm glad you asked!" Once everyone had gathered at the table, Jason stood up, resting his left fist against his chest. "Our next destination will be what you could call... our base." His eyes lit up at being able to finally say the words, eyes set on Kaine's. "It's not too far from here, actually. I've been talking one-on-one with KatyK00ger from the thread we're used to talking in. You should remember him, yes?" Jason's eyes looked over everyone else's, before suddenly feeling a wave of anxiety hit him. They were all looking at him... Crap, who's eyes should he stay locked with while he talks? Or... should he just switch from person to person? Would it be weird to do it in order or how they're sat? Or maybe he should do a random order? Or maaaaybe he could stare at the table. Ah, that'd be weird though, right? He started to feel his neck and back of his head heat up as he fought with himself mentally. "U-uhm anyway..." Jason coughed a little, trying to refocus himself. His eyes decided to lock onto Sun's now. "S-so, they weren't too comfortable with meeting everyone in person, which is understandable. It seems they aren't too skilled at using their powers, so they didn't want to risk either becoming a hassle on the group or risk being caught and not being able to defend themselves. That being said, he wanted to help us in any way possible though. He's a home owner, so he provided us with an old double studio apartment. There was some rotting in the walls, so he tore down the wall that divided the two apart. It's not huge, but it should be enough room to fit all of us comfortably enough. If you're uncomfortable with sleeping there though, you're welcome to stay in any nearby hotel for sleeping, but I ask you don't stay anywhere further out than a mile and a half." Jason didn't explain his reasoning why, simply moving on. "Anyway, we should head there next. I have some more crucial things to speak with you guys..." He looked at Charlie. "And girls... and I'd rather not do it in public." He offered a small chuckle. Breaking his eyes away from Charlie and onto Gil, Jason sat back down and opened his laptop. "Now then, I set up a private owned limo company to come pick us up at some point this afternoon. All I have to do is shoot them a quick text and they'll be on their way to pick us up." Jason tried not to smile too widely as he said this part, clearly proud of himself for hiring a limo driver to take them from place to place. Sure, he probably spent too much money on this whole thing, but... he wanted everyone to be really impressed with him. Just look how much work he put into this whole thing! "I would've went lower-key and got a large taxi, but a lot of them are government ran or are a part of large chains, and I think that's more of a risk then traveling via limo, you know?" Jason smiled a little, eyes finally falling on Drei. "So if no one has any complaints..." The tall ginger trailed off, typing some letters into his phone, texting the limo company.

Whatever had irked the fellow dissipated rather quickly, as the ginger perked up immediately at the question.
Excuse me?
Kaine could feel the hairs on the back of his neck rise. A base wasn't a bad idea, but meeting up with the guy who provided it and didn't show up in the first place sounded dubious from head-to-toe. When it came to grimy places; Kaine could handle it well. Hell, he used to hide out in them before he scavenged enough cash for himself, but knowing whose turf it was had been critical. Waltzing in unwanted could land one knee-deep into serious turmoil with the wrong people, and now the security breathing down their necks had only served to make the situation more dire. Whoever "KatyK00ger" was gnawed at him endlessly, and stepping foot into their arrangements no questions asked wasn't a mistake he was about to make. If they had at least showed their face like the rest of them, he could have seized a chance to scan him for an incision scar at one point.
Though he also was talking to Jason who proclaimed to have thought manipulation. If he really was trying to play the part of some valiant hero; then being cornered might have a chance of escape, but who knows how well he could control it? He could have been lying as well. Kaine's fingertips tapped on the table as his thoughts mulled over the worst-case scenarios, growing more rapid as he delved deeper into the hypothetical situations. One thing had to come first if he was going to trust a word he had to say- he had to find a way to scan him. Another arrow of paranoia struck at his side upon the declaration of a limo. How much money did this guy have? Perhaps he had used his powers to scam a poor unfortunate fool, as it wouldn't be unheard of. His reasoning for the limo could be judged reasonable, but it wasn't soothing his mind at this point. He didn't want to be blunt about his urge to survey Jason either, as giving him an idea as to what he was about to do could possibly land him in getting "persuaded." However, it needed to be done before he willy-nilly entered the vehicle and made his way over. His eyes wandered scrupulously for some sort of detail to make use of, even the smallest could prove useful at this point. He inhaled deeply, allowing his nerves to calm as he did so.
Luckily, the messy condiments from his meal had fallen onto the edge of his laptop. A chance had presented itself, and Kaine exhaled as he sought to relax himself, "Alright then, sounds like a plan- but first," e lifted himself from his seat, gathering a few napkins from the vendor before and strolled back to the table. He positioned himself behind Jason, leaning over as he did so with the wipes, "Our leader can't go running around with a mess on his equipment. Can you turn it towards me a bit?" He only needed Jason to move his hands to grab the device, so he could accidentally brush his hands over the ginger's and focus sharply on the moment he did so. If Jason was to adhere now; Kaine would move his hand accordingly.

If Jason was to adhere now; Kaine would move his hand accordingly. Trying not to beam at the "leader" mention, Jason looked to Kaine as he came up to him. As the long haired man approached him from behind, chills ran all over Jason's body, the sudden new body there making the redhead a tad nervous. He breathed shallowly for a moment, not sure how to react at first. He was about to voice his concerns about the other man's position, but once Kaine's voice echoed behind his earlobe, he shut his own lips tightly with a smirk. Kaine was paying quite a bit of attention to Jason's equipment, and to be honest, the ginger didn't think he would. Even though they'd met on a similar platform, Kaine's powers weren't focused on such technological terms. Jason almost felt embarrassed that he himself was neglecting something so crucial to himself. "I suppose you're right." He cooed, doing as the other asked without a second thought. Didn't do him any good if it were all messy, after all. Even though his suspicions were high with this one, so long as his computer was within his grasp still, he didn't mind handing it over to his friend.

After Charlie declined his offer, Gil stood up and walked back to the others with her. Once they sat down, Jason began filling them in on what they were going to do next.
Gil widened his eyes in response. He'd always wondered why Kat had refused to attend the meeting. And for something so subjective as the strength of ones ability, too... Charlie even showed up, and she's a child. He trusted Kat like he trusted the rest of them... but... it was definitely strange. Gil tossed his doubts aside, at least for the moment. If he were alone, he would've never gone. But he's not alone anymore. He became very excited at the prospect of a base. He had to wonder if it'd been retrofitted with the newest technology - you know, like it looks so bland and unappealing on the outside that you wouldn't expect a debriefing for an insurgency to take place. He personally wouldn't have much use for the technology, but honestly, it's been so long since he last watched a good tv show. He wondered if that Sonic show he used to watch as a kid still aired.
Gil waited until after Jason's announcement to respond. "Wow, boss. A limo? You must have a lot of money stored away, huh?" Gil smiled briefly. He was going to mention that taking a limo to this place might brings unwanted attention, but then he thought about who made these arrangements. "Sounds like a great plan, J. I'm not so sure about Kat, but I'm sure you know what you're doing! I trust you."

Drei crossed his arms as he listened to Jason debrief them on their next stop. He was familiar with the user by the name of 'KatyK00ger', however something about this seemed... strange. From the untraceable limo to the member's no-show, suspicion pricked at the back of his mind. It all boiled down to the trustworthiness of Jason and Kat. If it turned out to be a trap, if there was one thing about himself he was confident in, it was his physical prowess. Escaping danger would not be any sort of problem, and with the huge amount of calories he just intook energy would be of no consequence. ... No. He didn't come this far just to mistrust Jason's word. Even if he is an ass of a thought manipulator, he sneered to himself. "Fine. I think we're all about ready to go?" he wiped his finger tips off on a napkin before balling it up and tossing it into the carton, looking back up at the ginger. The smirk that had grown across Jason's face, accompanied with the rather close positioning of Don Juan from behind caught Drei by surprise. And while he had an inkling as to what the fellow skin manipulator was currently trying to do, he couldn't help but snicker at the redhead's reaction. "Getting started already, Casanova? You don't waste any time, do you," he mused jokingly and stood to his feet.

Perfect. Kaine outstretched his forearm to support one side of the laptop, the side Jason had been gripping tightly. He focused his eyes on the other side as to feign a thoughtless action, and while he wiped off the excess grime near the laptop's vents, his other hand lowered to gently brush against the ginger's hand. He breathed in at the slight touch, meticulously surveying the male's skin before deeming it appropriate. His hand abruptly moved backward, "Oh, sorry. I wasn't looking," he smirked, letting an awkward chuckle escape his lips. He has a scar.
"All done," he replied, withdrawing his hands. He let out a sigh of relief as he tossed the filthy napkin into the garbage. At least it appeared Jason was being truthful, and if that was the case then perhaps if they landed in a pinch he would aid them. Even if, he didn't know the prowess of the possible betrayer, or betrayers. One misstep could be his undoing. As his brain processed his decision, the pesky seabird from earlier interjected.
...Casanova, now? He didn't have time to deal with Four-eyes attempts to jab at him, but the fact he pointed this out now was eyebrow raising. Now that he thought about it; Drei possessed skin manipulation as well. Perhaps Blondie was catching onto him, which could prove annoying in the long-run, but he admittedly had to give him points for not being totally thoughtless. Yet, he wasn't about to let him get away with his little historical crack either.
Kaine laughed softly, "Casanova as well, now?" a sweet smile spread across his lips as his eyes locked on Drei, "I'm sorry... is Bettina getting jealous? I can pay more attention to you, if you'd like." A giggle could be heard under his breath. Drei could have blown his cover, despite he was merely doing the sensible course of action. Though if they were truly being lead in a trap, then at least it served as a reminder for Kaine.
That he needed to save his own skin. He wasn't about to pay the price for the carelessness of others, after all.

For a while in Jason's speech, Elrod had trouble paying attention. He didn't like people to stare at him, and that's just what Jason was doing. He blinked a few times, looking away and back to try to get some sort of result, being Jason looking away from him. Eventually he did look away, and Elrod was relieved. What did he say, a base, a limo? Elrod didn't necessarily have to worry about anything suspicious happening, for he was always alerted to any movement. It was however, an embarrassing thought, sharing a place with 4 other guys. Not to mention the child- was she safe with them? Elrod had to remind himself to be extra vigilant for her sake.

Kaine laughed softly, "Casanova as well, now?" a sweet smile spread across his lips as his eyes locked on Drei, "I'm sorry... is Bettina getting jealous? I can pay more attention to you, if you'd like." A giggle could be heard under his breath. Drei raised an eyebrow as this time Kaine reacted, this time countering his banter and new nickname with some of his own, all while holding intense eye contact. Was his little hunch that this was related to his abilities correct, or did he just enjoy the banter? The blonde had honestly no clue. Whatever it was drew out a stronger reaction than his 'Prince Charming' crack, the ponytailed-man hopping right back on the 'Princess' line of antagonization. As if it's the first time I've been called a girl as an insult. The best way of disarming this type of banter in his experience was giving into it rather than retorting. "Bettina, eh? I've always fancied myself as more of a Henriette," he replied flatly and walked over to the nearest trashcan, tossing out his garbage. "I guess I just like to think of myself as being rather intelligent and discerning," he turned back towards Kaine, crossing his arms.

Kaine raised an eyebrow, rather stunned at Drei's audacity to bark back. Perhaps he wasn't so avert to standing his ground as one may have thought with his stand-off behavior. However, Glasses was just possibly putting on airs to hide his little mishap from earlier, and it could be easy to knock him off his high horse with just a big enough of a push. The kid had a knack for pulling back after all, being his temperamental outburst with the fries from earlier. Upon praising himself, he did have his back turned to Kaine before meeting his gaze once more. If only he hadn't offered those napkins earlier, seeing as his attempt at damage-control fell flat. Then maybe the boy wouldn't have been so smart-mouthed with a jacket full of chili. What was his deal anyway? He had struck the iron this time, not Kaine. Or maybe that was just another indication as to him eyeing Kaine's movements. If that be the case, then surely he'd just have to stray his mind away from such accusations, and getting him flustered could do the trick. Kaine rose to his feet, sauntering over to Four-eyes before coming to a halt. His eyes widened for a moment with an eyebrow quirked, making for an inquisitive expression of a sort. "So, are you saying..." the corners of his lips curled, "that you want my infatuation, or you'll pay me five hundred dollars to sleep with you?" He leaned in, smirking as he did so. Truthfully, the "Casanova" and "Prince" titles were humorous in their absurdity. Yet a pang of irritation struck him with the Henriette comment. He recognized the sting as ridiculous, but he had already attached a face to such a title long ago. And that's what irks me.

"So, are you saying..." the corners of his lips curled, "that you want my infatuation, or you'll pay me five hundred dollars to sleep with you?" He leaned in, smirking as he did so. Drei quirked an eyebrow, Kaine's strong reaction completely taking him off guard. The banter he'd expected to subsequently fizzle out apparently heated up instead, the Prince sauntering over close to deliver his next line. He adjusted his glasses and locked eye contact, trying to figure out just what was so different this time around. Accompanied with his self-described adjective of 'discerning', he could only wonder if that tiny hunch that he was attempting to exercise his abilities on Jason was actually correct. Was he threatened by my observation? Or did I somehow strike a nerve? Perhaps both. But the last thing he'd wanted was for this conflict to continue. The longer it drew on, the more and more of a chance he had of slipping up and losing his cool. As if he hadn't already done so several times before. And as much as his negative first impression of Kaine had been strongly colored by appearance alone, he hadn't been looking to push buttons with his 'Henriette' response. After some quiet thought, he finally opened his mouth. "As I recall the story goes, Casanova had to earn those five hundred dollars after Henriette's evaluation." The blonde stared the other man down over the rims of his glasses, expression as flat as ever. "Obnoxious, difficult to read, distant both online and in real life, most likely skirted by some difficult situations based on good looks alone." Paranoid also came to mind, but if what struck the nerve was him possibly outing his ability usage, he wasn't going to pursue that line of thought any further and instead opted to distract from it. He pulled out his wallet and took out a 5 dollar bill, pushing it against Kaine's chest. "That's what my current evaluation has netted you." The slap of the leather wallet closing up echoed with a sharp tone of finality, the man tucking it back in his pocket before walking back to the table and away from Kaine.
