Quinn set a foot onto the concrete of the sidewalk, sliding the appropriate amount of bills and change into the yellow cab's slot before giving a quick 'thank you' and promptly removing herself from the vehicle entirely. It was only when the taxi left her that she finally let out the breath she was holding in for most of the ride. Coughing and sputtering out the taste of the car's almost noxious fumes for a few seconds while a few passing bystanders watched, she straightened herself out after her episode and took another brief scan of the area. It was just as quaint as it was when she first had her interview, at least on the surface. No hoodlums seemed to looming around and save for the confused or amused face of the people who had already taken their focus off of her little scene, no one looked like they posed any threat. Perfect. Just what she needed to start the day off right. She glanced at the familiar bakery, pivoting a foot towards the building to start walking, but stopped herself mid-step. "Ah, wait," she muttered, fishing into her purse and pulling out a bottle of perfume. The girl eyed the vial, making sure that it was indeed the perfume that she grabbed and not the bottle of pepper spray that sat next to it before she spritzed a few plumes of fragrance into the air and walked through it. "Mmm, yeah, that's better." Didn't want to smell like a dirty city cab on her first day! Quinn placed the bottle back into her bag and approached the shop, looking neither excited nor nervous as she walked through the door. She felt no need to show her passion for her craft on her face, and would almost always prefer to demonstrate it in the kitchen. It was probably this no-nonsense attitude of hers that got her the job in the first place. She'd have to thank her mother for that, but she knew deep down she'd never want to. Quinn looked around the shop, taking note of all the other faces and directed a stilted wave at all of them. "Hello." she said flatly before walking over to one of the tables and taking a seat.

Tisivy slammed on her brakes in front of the cute bakery, the tires skidding against the road once again. The consequences of her reckless driving were not something to be discussed right now, though. Her whole life was right in front of her! Tisivy stepped out of the beat-up and old car that was probably worth ten dollars at this point, and stood before the adorable building that she could call her new workplace. She breathed in and puffed out her chest, ready to assert herself at her new job. She swung open the door in a fashion that called more attention to herself than she probably needed to. "Gooood day everyone!" she chirped, waving at the crowd happily. She almost went to wrap her arm around the nearest person, but she found that he was...occupied with acting like a bird. She decided to adress this less than normal behavior later. She locked her eyes on the second nearest person, a cute girl sitting in a chair. Score~ She sat down in the seat next to her, and wrapped her arm around the other. "How are you all doing? As for me, I'm reaaaaaaally excited~!"

Kuma stood in the middle of the room as the rest of their coworkers began arriving, the little person jiggling their arms slightly as they each passed by in hopes that one of them would take note of their importance. Or their stance. Or just NOTICE them. They let their arms fall to their sides as she accepted defeat at the hands of her one true weakness. Small stature. The short one peered around the room, taking note of all their coworkers taking seats at the tables that littered the interior of the restaurant. Those tables must be more interesting than she was. Well, SHE would be the judge of that! Kuma marched over to one of the gargantuan chairs, annoyed at how poorly built they were due to their inability to accommodated someone of their height. She struggled to pull herself up onto the chair, flailing their legs in the process as they tried to hook one of their feet onto the cushion in order to make climbing easier on themself. After a few minutes of this uphill battle, Kuma finally dragged their tiny body onto the seat. They let out a huff of annoyance, yet still slightly proud of their accomplishment, and sat down on the velvet seat cushion. After a few moments of silence from them, everything became clear... These tables sucked.

Quinn suddenly tensed up once the loudly-colored, loudly-dressed, just loud in general girl wrapped an arm around her without warning, the expression on her face basically spelling out the words 'stranger danger' as she struggled to figure out just what was happening. "Uhhhh, I guess I'm doing fine???" he stammered, her mind suppressing the natural instinct to defend herself. After all, this girl was probably a fellow employee, and it truly would be just awful trying to work with someone she flipped on the first day. Just awkward. After staring at the girl's arm for a few seconds, Quinn slowly moved it off of her person and patted it a few times before gently placing it to the other's side. Once she was certain of her safety, she took a brief scan of the shop and of the others and realized that all eight of them were present. "So, this is it, hmm?" she inquired softly.

Cassi slowly made her way to the edge of the room, patting down her hair again as she took her purse off of her shoulder. She fought the urge to rub her eyes, knowing she'd screw up the makup she rarely wore. Had she overdressed for today? She looked down at the medium length, flowered dress she'd pulled from her closet, frowning at the black sandals she'd chosen. Perhaps close-toed shoes would have been a better choice. Was she supposed to wear pants? She couldn't remember. She felt out of place and too girly for her taste, but it was what she assumed she was supposed to dress like for these sorts of events. She sat down at the nearest table, too preoccupied to notice is anyone else was already there. She began absentmindedly zipping and unzipping her purse, concentrating on the sound to distract herself from whatever was going on around her.

Maybe it was the fact Kori always sat in a room with a bunch of tables and chairs, but as soon as she noticed someone plopping down in the seat across from her, she tensed. The girl who sat there didn't seem to want to talk to Kori directly, however; she fiddled with the zipper of her purse waiting for something-- as with the rest of the people in the room. It was quite apparent these guests visiting the bakery didn't intend on buying a freshly made croissant, no, they intended to make them. "These must be my coworkers!" Kori thought, bringing a small smile to her face. She examined each person's face quickly and carefully, attempting to commit them to memory. The only face she couldn't get a clear vision of was a small......person just peaking their head over the table. Kori assumed it was a child of someone. Before she got the chance to peak her head up to get a better view, a familiar and feeble voice spoke up from behind the counter: "My lovely chefs!" Chef Lionnac's voice sang, "I'm glad you all arrived!" he opened a small door that lead from the other side of the counter to the lobby of the bakery then held his hands in front of him. "It's so good to see each one of your faces side by side, and even better they will continue being that way from now on! Let's get started, shall we?" The chefs all stood around Chef Lionnac as he spoke, his voice was full of enthusiasm each sentence: "Now! Before we get into the real introduction of the job, let's do a team building exercise!" He began pointing at each chef while playfully squinting his eyes, "You youngin's have to know how to work together well, so we better start now! I'll divide you into teams of two, then we'll change into uniforms and begin a recipe near and dear to my heart.........it's a pastry that originated right here in this bakery." "Pip! You will team up with Miffy. Cassi will team with Quinn Kori with Estelle and Kuma with Tisivy!"
OBJECTIVE: Meet your partner and head to the kitchen!

Cassi took a moment to take a long, deep breath before getting up from her seat and plastering a smile onto her face. She held her purse nervously in her palms, still slipping the zipper back and forth as she examined the room for 'Quinn'. She hadn't spoken to anyone yet, and she certainly hadn't been paying attention to anyone who had bothered to say their name. Her eyes went from face to face, as though that would somehow tell her who was who. Of course, it only proceeded to make her face flushed with embaressment any time she came close to making eye contact with someone.
She walked towards the center of the room, putting her purse strap over her head and straightening her shoulders as she attempted to disguise her fear with a mask of confidence. "My name is Cassi!" She said, loud enough for the others to hear but still quiet enough for an inside voice. "I'm looking for, uh, Quinn?" The touch of nerves returned to her voice, one of her legs bending awkwardly as she tried to keep her weakening smile in place.

Pip's mood sunk at the mention of a dreaded team building exercise. He didn't need to build a team, at least not with these... people... they probably made pastries for humans instead of birds, think of the poor birds!! They can't bake, they don't have hands!
"You're lucky you have hands..." the mop haired boy muttered weakly, not at all finding the statement strange in the slightest. He continued to stand where he was, grieving his bird friends' lack of hands rather than make an active attempt to find his partner. They'd eventually find him, anyway...

Team building? Bingo! Now they'd HAVE to notice Kuma! Well, at least 'Tisivy' would.... Plus teambuilding was their (self proclaimed) strong suit. Kuma stood on top of their chair, now being able to see all their fellow chefs' faces instead of their legs and shoes. She scanned each face, committing each face to memory with a placeholder name in their head until they actually met the others. Kuma pulled herself onto the table, the structure wobbling slightly as the weight was suddenly pressed onto one side. It stood strong, however, and Kuma crawled into the middle of the table, sitting on their knees for a moment while they tried to think of the perfect way to introduce themself to her partner. They sat in dead silence for a couple moments, completely motionless until they suddenly sprung into action, readjusting their position and calling out for their teammate. "Tisivy!" They shouted, her voice a tad squeaky. "Tis I! Kuma!!" They reached into their pocket which housed a small baggie of glitter. They took a handful of it and tossed it into the air around them for dramatic effect.

Quinn stood up from her seat as soon as the chef paired them off for a team-buiilding exercise of some sort. While her main focus was set on whatever it was Lionnac wanted them to do (or make, probably), she didn't really mind the idea of getting to know her fellow employees this soon into the job. After all, they'd be working together for what she hoped would be a long time. Best to just get the awkwardness out of the way. It didn't take her very long to find this "Cassi", for the other girl introduced herself to the room only a few seconds after she got up. Quinn followed the voice to its source, giving a brief scan of her assigned partner and the aura of awkwardness she emitted before stopping to extend her hand for a shake. "That would be me!" she said with a light smile. "Hello, Cassi. How are you? Are you excited to be here?"

Estelle's stomach growled LOUDLY as the words "kitchen" were echoed in her head.
Kitchen.....
Kitche
Kitch
Kitc
Kit
Ki
K
C
Ch
Chi
Chic
Chick
Chicke
Chicken.
Chicken.......
Estelle shook her head violently to get the thought out of her head. Man she was hungry. She noticed that a blonde person was heading towards the chick- kitchen. She hesitantly followed, clutching her stomach to avoid any more hunger pains. When she finally approached her, Estelle (tried) to introduce herself.
"Hi," she said to the blonde person. My name is Est-"... Her stomach growled even louder making her weakly say the rest of her name "-elle."

"That would be me!" she said with a light smile. "Hello, Cassi. How are you? Are you excited to be here?" Cassi brushed her hair out of her face and gave a slight, forced laugh that sounded like she was literally just saying "haha!" out loud. She pretended to cough to cover up the awkwardness at this attempt at being normal, shifting her purse on her shoulder and holding one of her hands against her collar bone as though that were all that were keeping her upright. "Hello Quinn!" She shook the girl's hand as firmly as she could, her smile returning and appearing a bit more genuine. "I'm doing well! I'm very happy to have received this opportunity." This was clearly a rehearsed response to this set of average questions. "Working for this company will be wonderful. I can't wait to get to know everyone. You all seem so lovely." He voice felt a bit flat and she mentally kicked herself for not putting in enough enthusiasm. She realized she still had Quinn's hand clasped in her own and she quickly released it, wiping her palm on her dress as she tried to keep eye contact with her partner. "And h-how are you doing?" Her voice cracked.

They took a handful of it and tossed it into the air around them for dramatic effect. Tisivy only briefly had to look for her future partner in crime before she heard the small person speak up. "Heeeeeeey, you must be---!!" Tisivy cut herself off from speaking any more She stood before the table and was....dumbfounded. Is this second grader seriously trying to....? She shook her head. Tisivy would normally immediantly jump into physical contact, flirting, and other yelling. But.....they're a kid. She laughed awkwardly and patted Kuma on the head. "Hey kid, nice to meet you." she said with a fixed smile. Well, if some elementary aged child got into this bakery, they must be some sort of prodigy. Tisivy motioned towards the kitchen. "So, you ready to start?" she inquired. God, she did not know how to handle children.

Kuma lowered there leg and stood up on the table, arms placed firmly on their sides as they glared at Tisivy. "I'm no kid! I'm a god damn adult! I'm probably older than you are!" They grumbled. Kuma stepped forward towards the edge of the table and hopped off, hitting the ground with a small thump and causing any glitter that had landed on her to fly into the air. "C'mon, kid!" They spat as they marched their tiny feet towards the kitchen, now thoroughly upset at the implication that they were a child, not that they weren't used to it. Everyone seemed to think Kuma was a small child but, for the life of her, she could never understand why. I mean, sure she looked young for her age, but child-like?? That was just plain ridiculous! It was probably just one of those short jokes they hated so much. All those dumb tree people made the same jokes about her height. "Lets get cookin'!!" She thought over what she said for a moment before shaking her head. "Er- Baking..?" They still weren't positive what the difference between the two were, but that didn't matter. All that mattered is that they were gonna learn how to make some tasty food!

She realized she still had Quinn's hand clasped in her own and she quickly released it, wiping her palm on her dress as she tried to keep eye contact with her partner. "And h-how are you doing?" Her voice cracked. Quinn winced slightly at the girl's forced laughter, still maintaining her smile despite how awkward the situation was. She couldn't be too critical of how others functioned around strangers. After all, her recent interaction with the pink, loud one over there couldn't have looked too "normal" on her part, so she forgave Cassi's response and shook the girl's hand. A nice, firm handshake; a great way to introduce oneself. This Cassi obviously meant business, she thought. Quinn returned a similar pressure on the other's hand before letting go completely and actively listened to her partner's response. "Oh, I'm fine! The taxi ride here could've been better, but I'm just excited to be here!" she chuckled, relieved that she remembered to take her perfume with her before leaving the house. "To be honest, I didn't really think I'd get selected out of all the people Chef interviewed, but I guess he saw something special in me. In all of us, obviously! It'll be nice getting to know you and the rest, Cassi!" Quinn took another quick look at the others, noticing some of them already making their way to the kitchen. "Ah, maybe we should get started now?" she asked, gesturing over to the counter. "I'm curious as to what Lionnac has planned for us."
