~ Magical Girl Roleplay ~
~ Prelude ~
Malefica is about a band of magical girls who work together to improve in their craft and their teamwork at a prestigious school "Blustery Woods".
However, this roleplay will not involve much battling or action scenes - rather the more 'mundane'. It will span a traditional school year and have typical school events.
Malefica is not set in a magical world, magical girls are a rarity.
This story is alike to a "Cute Witch" story (e.g Ojamajo Doremi) and not a "Magical Warrior" type story (e.g Sailor Moon).
Most acted out events will be general school days - in the classroom, on the roof or elsewhere.
Sudden school related instances might afflict your character (e.g Missing Items), in which you can team with others to help you out.
You can also choose a secondary club, the primary one is 'Board Games', that all characters are entered in from the start. This is just a cover up for Magical Girl related talks and sometimes act as advice sessions.
Anyways, it's a very easygoing, hassle-free roleplay.
- What are the requirements?
Anyone can apply, but there are rules when it comes to applying. I hope they aren't too strict, however Malefica follows the pattern of other 'moe' narratives, where certain traits and characterists are common.
Therefore, it would be best to keep that in mind when making a character. (For example, my character Juniper can be assigned to the Dojikko subtype.)
Note - this does not mean you aren't allowed to add your own flair or follow the archetypes to a T!
For reference, I would suggest IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls, Aikatsu and Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka? A lot of their characters have a specific quirk to them, one that many can find endearing. Cuteness is justice, after all.
Your character can either be 1st year, 2nd year or 3rd year. There isn't a real importance to which one you pick, but 3rd years will graduate at the end! All clubs will be available for all years
There will also be guidelines for Magical Girl Outfits, as they will follow a design scheme. What this means is that it was be somewhat akin to this.
- Are Magical Boys allowed?
I am contemplating on this, however there is a good chance that they will not. Most media that focus around 'moe' have a female-only cast. Depending on the end choice Blustery Woods will be either a co-education or a girls school.
Applications are currently not open. (They will be open-open around the 5th of July.) I have to get things arranged at in order and laze about. However you can make your character in advance! The template will be left below.
Three per school year, nine in total. I am unsure whether I'll reach that goalpost so it may be two per year instead.
Also there are general rules like be nice, no godmodding and so on. Afflicted events are at random and are to random (a generator will be used.)

Juniper is a ditzy girl as well as being an avid eater. She holds great excitement at being a magical girl and wishes to use her powers mostly for good deeds, however the spells don't always turn out as well as she wants to. She's not very good at tying ribbons, so they end up looking like a second ponytail (quirk), but she doesn't mind all that much. She likes baking sweets for the Board Game Club. Her powers have an undercurrent 'dessert' theme.

(If you choose for your character to not adhere to the rules (not buttoned up jacket for example), you'll be more likely to be admonished by staff!)
Blustery Woods is situated on a hill surrounded by dense woods. The winds can be chilly so for a good year, it's a good idea to button up!

Tomorrow will mark the opening of applications! In this post I will note about the second half of the application which is very important - the magical girl outfit.
Prior to the above post I was going to have a basic design scheme that would be followed but after designing Junie's form I decided that instead there would be basic rules instead.
Rules to keep in mind:
- Frills, Lace and Ribbons (one of these three things is the minimum.)
- General sense of whimsy and little overcomplication. Must reflect your character in one way or other. See below and/or Madoka Magica or~ one of Chiara's designs.
- Hair/Hairstyle and Eye Color should be somewhat similar to your character's general form. For instance if a character has blue hair, it can be a slightly greener shade in magical form.
- No indecent skin exposure - ('Bikini Armor', 'Weird Naval Holes', 'Plugsuits') - these are banned.
- Your magical item cannot be inherently violent, there is little action to be found in this RP. Wands, Staffs, Pendants/Lockets, and other non-weapon items are fine.
- Simple color scheme, has to reflect character's general pallette.
(See Junie's below form for a general idea of what I mean.)

If I find that your character violates one of more of these rules I will ask you to make necessary adjustments. If you do not comply before the closing date, (10th July) your character will not be accepted into this RP. This may be harsh but I do find this necessary given this genre.
Your character must also (having now made the decision) be a female. They can wear a variant of the uniform that is a trousers and a tie, but the rule still stands. Crossdressers or "Traps" will not be allowed.
