"That was an inconvenient cough. You are excused." Hyaku replied. This broke the ice for Hyaku, allowing her to recall what she was doing. She lifted her hand to read the application she had. Hyaku Ashi was supposed to be her response for the previous conversation, though she wasn't being asked her name anymore. So instead, she continued to study her application to remind herself of the answers to similar questions in the case she would be asked another question. Stella walked towards the girl, realising she hasnt introduce herself properly. " Ah, its fine, dont worry!" She said happily " My name is Stella Blackwood! Whats your name?" Stella chimed. She extended her hand for a handshake whille looking at Evangeline. She wanted to be friends with as many people as possible. Evangeline paused in pure shock at the centipede's terse response, the side of her mouth almost twitching as her calm demeanor dared to break so early into the introductory phase of her mission. Me? Excused? Why, I never! she thought, immediately stopping herself from bringing her much ruder thoughts about the unnamed bug to the forefront by taking a few silent breaths before trying this whole thing again. Patience was the key here. Without it, there'd be no telling her apart from any other spoiled or entitled brats in the area. Maintain your composure, it's only day one~ she hummed to herself as she straightened up her back. They'd get the memo eventually. Much to her surprise, one of them --the normal one of the two-- had done as she had initially hoped, Evangeline responding to the handshake by offering her hand to shake it daintily with a light smile. At least one of them was starting to get it. "Ah, it's a pleasure, Stella! You know, for you at least~" she chimed despite the cocky nature of the last half of her greeting, but she didn't feel anyone would mind. "I'm Evangeline. Evangeline Reynolds--" She cut herself off midway into her intro, making the conscious decision not to mention her father's profession and their relation. She did that at her last school, and more often than not she'd find herself only being seen as the 'rich girl' in class rather than the princess she strove to be. Perhaps she'd use her upbringing to fight off any opposing peasants, but she definitely wouldn't paint as being her identity. Not again. Who knows? With hope, the two already knew of her....? She waited for a reaction from the both of them, her eyes darting over to the pale-haired individual in the corner to see if...she...... Umm....While the other two were about to begin a conversation, Hyaku started dart her attention elsewhere. It wasn't like they would continue focusing on her, right? So she figured it would be best to complete her next objective: Understand the surrounding area. Hyaku began to literally crawl away from the conversation at hand, moving around the classroom to get a better understanding of the landscape. I-is she.... c-crawling? Evangeline starter to wonder if she even wanted that girl for a servant. She reminded her of a bug, and she hates bugs! After watching the centipede bumble past a few desks in here peripherals for a second, she was able to answer her own question. Yes, of course she was crawling around like an insect; that's obvious, but why? Why? That's super weird, not to mention ridiculously unservantlike. Unless she's crawling over to bow -- No. She was just strange, and fixing her just got a lot harder. Now more tense as ever, she turned back to Stella. "Um, is your... little friend over there a... a-alright?" She tried to remain as polite as possible even though at this point she was low-key afraid the white-haired one would brush past her. Eugh.

Stella continued holding the girls hand, even after she introduced herself, keeping that wide smille on her face. After a few seconds she let go and spoke back to the Evangeline " Great! Its a pleasure to meet you too Evangeline!! Lets do our best this year!" Stella looked back at the weird white-haired girl, who seemed to have caught Evangeline's attention, only to see the "alien" crawling like some sort of bug. Many thought started swirling around her head. One of them confirming that her theory about this girl beeing an alien from outer space. Stella looked at the girl crawling around with an amased look in her eyes. She could not believe she was seeing an alien in real life. And that alien was one of her classmates! Stella was sure now that this year was going to be a blast, and she could not stop thinking about all the possible adventures she could have with her alien classmate. If only she knew her name.
Stella looked back at Evangeline, who seemed kinda tense. " I dunno! Maybe its her way of adapting into this new inviroment! I heard that the first day of high school is a very stressful day!" She said still gazing at the weird crawilng girl. "Or... she is not used to this planet so far!" Stella continued, still keeping her cheerful tone.

Her ears were no longer assaulted with the pink haired girl's legs 'banging' against the desk, so she promptly went back to her nap. The slightest of smiles graced Erine's face as out of the corner of her eye one of her fellow students nestled down for a nap before the start of registration. Quite the way of introducing yourself, no? Speaking of introductions, now would be the time to do so. By now, Erine was at least aquanted with almost all of the students in the room, having spent two previous years at the academy. But a refresher would be nice, and it was the polite thing to do... ...it would also subtly help enforce the school's policy on not sleeping in the classrooms. Erine no longer held her position in student government, but the compulsions from the previous year were still there. "This is quite the class. I'm looking forward to spending the year with you," Erine spoke to nobody in general as she tucked away her bag and then neatly folded her hands on the desk.

She giggles happy and hugs tightly into Juniper, hugging maybe a little too tight ''Thank you thank you thaaank you, bestest of best besties!!~'' she looks at her, her eyes shimmering in happiness, looking like she will cry happy tears ''I would love to go to the cafe with you!! I want to eat all the yummy treats!!'' while saying this she looks behind Juniper and at Alice, giggling ''Alice could also come!! We could all eat yummy yummy treats like the bestest of friends we are!!!'' In the middle of introducing herself to someone else, Alice's ears picked up Bianca's shrill cry and she went cold. When she turned her head to see what was happening, she noticed that Juniper, the poor girl whose name she forgot was actually befriending Bianca, which would give Bianca a boost in self-esteem, and all that meant it would be harder to get her to submit. She could not stop her scowl. Right there and then, she cursed Juniper. Damn her, damn damn damn! There was no way she could have actually wanted to be friends with Bianca. But as her expression settled, she sighed. Birds of a feather flock together, after all. This thought gave her some relief, but not much. While she was no longer riled up, she would not be as kind to Juniper the next time the two of them spoke.

Then again, the seat was much too slippery for her liking, perfectly showcasing as she was slowly sliding across the chair before her body was met with the cold hard ground. She wiggled around on the ground for a little bit until muttering a weak cry for help. "...help..." she mumbled, barely processing anything that was going on other than the cold tingles on her back coming from the floor. She was wayyyy too lazy to get up herself.

((text with italics are Hyaku's thoughts)) With enough examination, we were able to study the surrounding area. The classroom isn't very big. Unfortunately, there wasn't any food here. Crumbs won't do any good. Are we forgetting something?Just after thinking this, Hyaku turned around and realized both of the other girls were looking at her. Oh, right. I'm supposed to be human here.Hyaku grabbed the nearest pencil and stood up. After a daunting, awkward silence, Hyaku then spoke, "I dropped my pencil." Though there was no nervousness in her voice, it wouldn't be more obvious that Hyaku's statement was a lie. The pencil wasn't even hers to begin with. Hyaku then sat on the desk next to her, which was being used by someone else. The one sitting in their own chair stared at Hyaku, but was too shy to say anything. They then stopped when Hyaku started staring back and looked away. Hyaku then looked back at Stella and Eva, watching them from the desk. New objective: learn how others converse with each other. " ahem." Hyaku said with the weakest and most fake "cough" "Oh dear... I am coughing..." Hyaku continued with her monotone voice "Pesky coughing..." This is human language. Now to observe...

It sounded like a perfect plan. She quietly got up and shuffled to the back, excusing herself when looking up at the impressive stature of Erine as she passed. She then lightly tapped the dark haired girl's shoulder. "E-excuse me, do you need help getting up? Are you okay?" She asked quietly with concern.

She said still gazing at the weird crawilng girl. "Or... she is not used to this planet so far!" Stella continued, still keeping her cheerful tone. N-not used to this planet? Eva stayed frozen in place, not even registering the pressure still being applied on her hand from the girl's shake. Normally, she wouldn't stand for such unnecessary extra skin contact; It was both uncharacteristic of royalty as well as unhygienic. Who knows where this commoner's hands have been? If she were anything like the other one --which she prayed to some god was not-- then she would've snatched her hand away in an instant. Heck, she wouldn't've even considered touching it! That's how she felt about the centipede currently, but due to her stilted body language it was hard to tell what she was currently feeling. A few words spoken by the 'alien' girl snapped her out of her stupor, Evangeline eventually turning to look at the bug and slowly becoming more irritated with this trainee of hers. "I dropped my pencil." Though there was no nervousness in her voice, it wouldn't be more obvious that Hyaku's statement was a lie. The pencil wasn't even hers to begin with. Evangeline angrily pouted after hearing her little test from earlier be relayed to her with arguably even less heart than the way it was previously stated. Hmph! Is she making fun of me! That bug!? Ugh, why I ought to.... She stamped a foot on the ground, her mind imagining the white-haired freak crushed underneath the sole of her shoe. It was a hollow victory, but it definitely calmed her down some. Definitely enough to make her realize her hand was still glued onto Stella's. Flustered with her childish behavior, Evangeline quickly jostled the girl's hand a few more times. "Yes! I hope we both do very well in our future endeavors! G-good day!" she stammered before rushing back to her seat, sitting as poised as she possibly could in lieu of the last few seconds.

Erine further hinted her opinion on the matter, subtly would have to be her new tactic this upcoming school year. "Thank you for helping..." Erine then paused, looking up and down her classmate's features and taking in her short wavy locks an soft-set features. A name attached itself to the face and Erine smiled, removing her hand from her mouth and brushing a lock of her hair away from her cheek. "Valerie. It's nice to be in the same class as you."

"E-excuse me, do you need help getting up? Are you okay?" She asked quietly with concern. "Mhmmmm.." She moaned, taking Valerie's hand and raising herself up with it. It was nice someone was concerned with her well being, despite the fact that she never really made the effort to be nice to anyone. She plopped herself back on her seat, making an effort to secure herself to the seat when she would inevitably feel tired again, just in case her body would involuntarily flop to the floor again. Although, a certain statement from the other 3rd year irked her. A hand was brought to Erine's mouth in as she turned her head to face her fallen classmate. "Oh," she stated not particularly alarmed, though her voice still empathetic, "are you okay? those desk aren't really meant for sleeping it seems." Erine further hinted her opinion on the matter, subtly would have to be her new tactic this upcoming school year. Yue puffed her cheeks at Erine, annoyed at her comment. Of course these desks were meant to be sleeping! She just used them wrong! ...Then again, she didn't quite feel like sleeping at the moment. Disappointed, she pulled a highly caffeinated energy drink from her bag and began chugging. If she was going to have to interact, she'd have to do it on an energy high. The best part of that energy high being that she had a major crash at the end. With this, she waved at the other two third years, wanting to initiate some conversation to offset her boredom.

"I" said exactly what she said. Perhaps she didn't want to talk after all, or she is sensitive to coughing. This wasn't what was planned, but the objective isn't a failure quite yet. We will just have to take matters into my own hands.Without any sort of apology or "excuse my behavior", Hyaku went up to Stella with her arm extended. "My name is Hyaku Ashi. What's your name Stella?" she asked in a dead serious tone. Not realizing that Hyaku answered her own question, she left her arm out towards Stella already motioning a hand shake. This may risk revealing our true self, but we're not going to wait for failure. Adaptability is key, and it will be the primary step to our survival.

A name attached itself to the face and Erine smiled, removing her hand from her mouth and brushing a lock of her hair away from her cheek. "Valerie. It's nice to be in the same class as you." Valerie flushed slightly at the mention of her name. Someone as important as Erine knew her name! Her, of all people. She thought she blended with the crowd exceptionally well- but what was she thinking? Erine had been the vice president. Surely she was required to know the names of her classmates? Either way, the fact Erine knew her name without much thought surprised her. She then realized she should respond to the girl's kindness. "I-it's! Nice to be in class with you too!" She bowed low, accidentally knocking her forehead on a desk beside her, though it wasn't hard enough to hurt. It only embarrassed her. "Uh- sorry," she said, though there wasn't much to be sorry about, as her mistake was of hitting her own head. With this, she waved at the other two third years, wanting to initiate some conversation to offset her boredom. Valerie's attention was drawn back to the dark haired girl. She was glad she was okay. At the wave, Valerie gave a tiny wave back, not much more than a twitch of her hand. "I-I don't think I know your name." She said apologetically, waiting for a new reaction from the interesting girl.

Stella saw the alien girl crawiling back to her seat, giving an excuse about her previous actions. That dissapointed Stella, since she was hoping that the girl was using some alien method of walking or something. But she was not going to give up yet! She was sure that that girl was not human, she was determined to make that girl her friend!
She looked at Evangeline's face. It seemed that she was angr, propably by the actions of the white-haired girl, and she couldnt understand why. She seemed super cool and awesome. How could anyone be weirded out by her? Stella was confused. But yet she nodded to Evangeline afer letting go of her hand, still keeping the smille on her face. As soon as Evangeline sat down at her seat, Stella realised that she hadnt find a seat for herself. She was still carrying her bag. The majority of the seats were reserved by other students, but Stella managed to find one that was somewhat near from both of Evangelines seat and the alien girls seat. She couldnt wait to hang out with these two girls sometime in the future.
Stella looked surprised at the whitehaired girl. She was so happy that the alien approached her, finally answering her question. Stella let a small giggle, which didnt matched at all with the seriousness Hyaku's voice had. She grabbed Hyaku's arm and shook it lightly " Ehehe, as you alread said, my name is Stella! Its a pleasure to meet you Hyaku!" Stella chimmed.

Perhaps she knows she can take advantage of our submissive behavior, and then attack when we're most vulnerable. She is best approached with caution."A pleasure.." Hyaku replied, however it was questionable whether or not Hyaku was actually happy about this. Hyaku let go of Stella's hand. I am not happy about this.Correction: It was clear that Hyaku did not show signs of happiness. Most of the students in the area were seated by now. After noticing this, Hyaku sat down at an empty seat like the others were doing. She decided to sit far back so that she could see the other classmates. Why would anyone want to sit in the front? They could easily be hunted down without noticing.
Hyaku didn't understand the purpose of the seats, though she could grasp the concept that this was a "tradition" of sorts or something of that nature. Hyaku asked out loud for clarification, "Why are we all sitting?"

WEEK 1 The new school year at Blustery Woods.
Prompt 1 -2
As the students, new and old were beginning to settle down in their respective classrooms, the time to congregate into the school hall arose, and there was the sounding of a shrill bell. In each classroom, the homeroom teacher would order everyone to stand, to then lead the way. From there, everyone reported to the auditorium, took their seats and listened to the Principal's long winded speech, where the focus was on the school's world rank and its frequent publicity in the media. One line that stuck out the most to the first years was, 'You may find yourself handling more than just papers and exams, be sure to hone any skills that you acquire here! The older years are more than happy to be of your assistance in such times.' The speech eventually came to a close, which was a relief to almost all and the Principal gladly welcomed a good applause. The teachers helped ushering the students back to their classrooms, coming to the needs of any lost first years' who had lost their bearings. As the nine girls returned to their seats, the first words that came from their teachers' mouths was, 'Before we can hone your skills, we must know your capabilities.'
On an interactive screen was a graph detailing numbers, 'Magical prowess has been proven to be a combination of genetic disposition and controlled training. Three levels have since been decided, Below Average, Average and Above Average. But no matter where you stand on this chart, we'll see that everyone's prowess makes a significant improvement.'
- The second years' chart showed that most were on an average. For Alice and Bianca they sat higher than Juniper, who despite improving from last year failed to meet her targets.
- The first years were yet to be recorded, as it was their first day. They would have to sit an examination, where hopefully their prowess would sit an a comfortable mark.
- The third years were definitely higher than the other two years on average. Erine's was particularly high, followed by Yue and Valerie who sat around the general above average.
Current Objective
1st Years :
Every student is instructed to make a small demonstration using a tool offered by the teacher. This is the most common method to judge somebody's magic. You can decide whether your character is or is not aware about the existence of magic. If they already know, there has to be a good reason, (as magic is already not common.) If you intend for your character to score a high mark, message me in advance with a reason as to why. (This would make them on par with the average third year student.)
LINE UP:
2nd Years :
For summer homework people were instructed to make a small demonstration of a spell that have been practicing. It can be any spell, and you may choose whether your character is prepared for it or not. If you intend for your character to be very sucessful (or not) at this challenger, message me in advance with a reason as to why. (It will have some effect in the future.) You can also choose to opt out, for whatever reason.
LINE UP:
As this is their last year, the teacher is eager to see some great development in the student's skills. Before a demonstration of their skills, all students are required to conduct a small speech on their growth during their second year, followed by a demonstration in their magical form. This is the earliest assessment of the school year and it is a good way to leave an impression on the other classmates without causing a scene of their own. (This will be followed afterwards by orienteering with a chosen first year. This will happen in the third prompt, but your character can discuss what these first years might be like.) LINE UP:
ORIENTEERING LINE UP
- Valerine and Evangeline
- Yue and Stella
- Erine and Hyaku
I thought these were the most interesting. Any issues, send a PM!
FOR ALL TASKS, DRAWINGS ARE ENCOURAGED!
1st Years + 2nd Years are not in their magical form. 1st Years use an object offered by the teacher (non-violent, you can make it up.), 2nd Years use their Magical Form's weapon, (you are able to summon it.) and 3rd Years use their Magical Form + Weapon.
If you have any issues/questions ask in the group chat or PM me!
