"The Convent of Loukios carries its own policies that outsiders are foreign to. If the time comes and my mana is depleted; it is my duty to offer my own health for the sake of a combatant's well being," while trying to remain neutral, it was obvious her voice was suffering from fluctuations as she hissed, "Bruises are a concern; I'm afraid." She bit her lip as she struggled to keep her body from quivering, recalling her own resented oath as she spoke. Her lips settled, as she drew a deep breath to calm herself. Already had she begun to accept the inevitable as she strolled down the path earlier; there was no need to work herself up again. "As a practitioner of the like, it is of significant matter I do so. Follow if you will it," Nyle was not bothered by this response in the slightest, she was quite used to being the receiver of an attitude. She made no move to follow the girl to Poppy's lute playing, as while she could stand an attitude for a bit, it was not ideal to stick around. It was a bit of a shame, the lute still interested her, but luckily others had interesting things with them as well. She scanned those in presence once again and saw the small boy with the triclops flipping through his book. She was reminded of it from when she first arrived, and decided it was quite interesting indeed- but, they seemed to be having a good time on their own, and she didn't want to interrupt. A bit more of a head turn revealed an adorable little girl with an equally adorable doll, standing alone not too far off. ( VirusHasBeenDeleted ) "Oh, how cute!" She said, clasping her hands together once again as she approached the smaller girl. "Your doll! Just precious! How long have you had it, it must be very special to you to bring it along when the world falls apart!" She hadn't heard any of when the girl was explaining the doll, and didn't know its purpose just yet. She also paid no attention to her questions possibly teetering on the personal side, as she was so sure everyone would love to tell stories of their possessions. Before she even waited for a response, she saw Anden alone as well, with his large sword that shone in what dim light there was to offer. She did not move from her spot in front of the little girl and called out to their leader. "And Mr. Anden! That is a great weapon you wield, did you forge it yourself?" She eagerly awaited answers from both parties.

Anden jolted to attention at the mention of his name. He had been half-listening to the goings on while yet again finding his mind and gaze on the horizon. The past couple of minutes had blurred by without so much as a lucid thought, but now his mind was running again.
"Oh!" he said immediately, before quickly formulating his response. "No, I'm no smith. I got this old thing years ago... I don't even remember where." he said in a slightly unusual tone.
"And did you just call me mister?!" he demanded suddenly in a lighthearted way. "There's no way I'm either that old or that respectable." he laughed. And more importantly, she didn't seem that young. If the situation hadn't painted him to be some kind of leader, he'd probably show her a whole other side of personality. Unfortunately he seemed to be catching all of the responsibility here... and the world was ending around them.
((So I had originally planned to progress the story this weekend, but at the rate things are going I'm thinking that waiting a few more days wouldn't be a bad thing. Either way is fine though, so let me know if you all would rather wait more or bring in the first plot point. For what it's worth, when that happens it will be very fast-paced for a while.))

Unfortunately he seemed to be catching all of the responsibility here... and the world was ending around them. "Haha, just a formality I suppose," She laughed lightly in response. "And, that's too bad! I'm sure any sword has a fascinating origin, but no doubt you've had it long enough to gain a good history with it!" Nyle felt quite carefree at the moment, it was a relieving thing to abandon worries of the future in lieu of something much more interesting, the past. She wished such moments could last forever, but she knew as soon as everyone who could walk had gathered to this place, they'd be moving out. Dealing with provisions, camps, even battle if it came to it- she severely hoped they wouldn't need to, but it was a possibility. By the way Anden spoke earlier she guessed his plans were to conquer the end, make it new again- a thing most daunting in principle but necessary for ultimate survival. She would have opposed if the future didn't rest on it. She knew she couldn't run forever. ( VirusHasBeenDeleted ) "Whaddaya say kid, isn't that a cool sword? Oh! I'm Nyle by the way, shorty!" She gave the girl a light pat on the head and once again fell silent in interest of listening when the girl spoke of the doll. ((I like the pace this is going personally! Move along when you want to, but I wouldn't mind another few days.))

While a bit perturbed by the melody's macabre implications upon finally hearing the lyrics, Delphi eagerly awaited a reply. She nodded as the woman explained her spell work, listening to the description with utmost attention to detail, but ultimately found herself rather befuddled by Poppy's report. Dull? Admittedly, the clerics of Loukios would often lose hope in those who could not hone their talents at the expected pace, and therefore relieve them as their pupils. However, the bard had... creatively wove her incantations with a lyrical embellishment. Despite the increase of time spent for crafting the songs, the payoff was rather unique to the individual. Delphi stole a glance at her wand, her eyebrows furrowing just barely before relaxing. "As a fellow sorceress, I pay close attention to the ways of others in an endeavor to perfect my own craft," she assured, recalling the weary eyelids of the woman in her fantasy. "You... cannot use a wand? Nor the like? While casting, I often channel my mana in a stream- and guide it through my body to the tip of my wand. If I had to describe it, I suppose it is like having a cluster of rivers flowing to a pool. Having that singular point helps me focus... but how does that work with strings on a lute?" She tilted her head. ((So I had originally planned to progress the story this weekend, but at the rate things are going I'm thinking that waiting a few more days wouldn't be a bad thing. ((Up to you- do what you think is best! I'm fine either way. ))

She tilted her head. Poppy scratched the back of her head and chuckled nervously. "See, that's what my dad told me, too. He was quite the spellcaster himself and he'd always say:" Poppy puffed her chest out and began speaking in a more masculine tone, albeit somewhat silly. " How are you not getting this? Its so easy! Just focus on the tip of your wand! Dear Gods, sometimes you can be so.." Poppy cut herself off with an exhale, giggling as she did. "But I guess I do the opposite of what you do. With me, the pool is already there, and I focus my mana through the strings as though they're intertwining rivers exiting into the ocean of mana that is...well.. everywhere!" She extended her arms outward to emphasis the world around her. "My spells are meant to focus on multiple people at once, so its easier to imagine multiple exit points that lead to everyone who need it, y'know?" Poppy grinned at Delphi. "I just always found focusing on one thing for too long... difficult, I guess. Its always been easier with my lute because my mind is racing with what note to play next, where my hands need to go, how quickly I need to strum. It keeps my mind from racing all over place BY keeping my mind racing, if that makes any sense." She chirped. ((I'm fine either, do what you want Evaaaaaaaaan))

Even though Poppy had quickly dismissed the weight of her own talents, Delphi sat in quiet contemplation about it all. The concept was rather foreign to her being that focusing on multiple streams of energy felt overwhelming, yet the bard had done so as though it was more natural for her to perform as such. She stared at her own feet, staying silent for another moment before readying herself to speak once more. Alas as her thoughts mulled over the information, all that receded from her lips was an "I see," before returning to her state of stillness. Delphi retreated to her own musing as her fingertips wandered the ground beneath her, tracing out shapes and drawing invisible figures only perceptible to her own eyes. Eventually the movements of her hand slowed, and she brought herself back to her surroundings. Not too far off was the towering triclops from earlier, who was firmly planted on the ground. "Are you familiar with the triclops over there? You were atop his shoulders upon my arrival," she eyed the giant warily, as much as it was... interesting to finally see one, his height made her cautious.

My Name Is Storm Fly I Know Its A Weird Name." She Started To Laugh And Smiled As Nyle Pated Her On Her Head. "If You Don't Mind Me Asking What Can You Do?" She Waited With Anticipation As Nyle Looked Like A Very Interesting Women.

"Nope, I don't know him at all, actually!" She piped. "I just know his name is Leander and he likes my music! Other than that, I don't know the guy at all! Seems friendly enough, though! He acts sorta like a kid. An enormous, three-eyed kid!" She chuckled. "He just kinda put me on his shoulders outta nowhere! It was a bit odd at first, but oh man the view!! The view from up there is incredible!! I'd love to be able to see everything from that height ALL the time!!" She smiled.

Name: Raei Age: 28 Race: Human-esque (Pointed ears because of race, generally a more flexible bodied race idfk. Race is used to colder tempatures, living in such biomes. As of such their lips are always a faded purple and their skin tends to get less and less pigmented over the generations) Gender: Female Appearance: Grey-ish peach skin color, straight long blue hair. Kept up in a tight bun with a few strands in the front loose unless dressed for leisure or sleep. Brown eyes. Lips always tinted a faded purple due to her race. She wears a leather mask over half of her face with a grey line down the middle and grey snowflakes embroidered on. She wears a bodysuit made out of a transparent tights-like material. Over that, she wears a long piece of clothing over top her torso, made up of two different pieces. One is a harder top over her chest and under it is made of a stretchy material, allowing her to move freely without much noise. She wears a scarf around her neck which is long and full enough to drape over her head like a hood if necessary. She doesn't like things touching her head, though, so she tries not to wear it whenever possible. Leather finger-less gloves are on both hands, a hidden compartment on the outer forearm holding 2 throwing knives per glove. Her fingers are apparent for ease in ice creation, finding it easier to work with contact to the air. On top of that, she has a long jacket that has two large pockets in the front. She wears metal armor along her upper arms as well. On her thighs down to her toes are fur socks to retain heat in the cold atmosphere they are used to living in. Her boots are sturdy, but flex easily around the bend between her leg and her foot. Two metal straps go around the back of her calf on her shoe. Metal hooks in the front for laces. Abilities: Ice Powers. She generates Icicles that can be sliced through the air, much like throwing knives would. She's better at using ice as projectiles or for creating blunt objects then for area effect. She can turn water to ice and has the power to give someone frostbite if they touch any part of her exposed skin. The more covered her skin is, the less effective her ice powers are, which is why she wears very little under her jacket. Short History: Born and raised in Sana, her family lived on the arctic corner. Their entire race originates there, used to living in cold conditions. The cold doesn't bother them, but they deal with heat poorly. Too much of a high temperature can cause them to have trouble generating ice and at 90 degrees F or above, can cause them to have trouble breathing and mana consumption and distribution is near impossible. As the thorns and vines grew near, their race fled their land and went on the defensive side of things. Her Father also believed in fighting until you can fight no more so he tried to keep their land but died in doing so. Despite all that, Raei was focused on bringing back the land she knew and left her family and friends in search of a solution since no one had one there. When she'd seen the bright pillar in the sky lit, she knew it was a sign that she had to go where it led. Other: She can maintain a normal body temperature on the inside, but can turn her skin on the outside as cold as ice. She has hand-to-hand training. She's not that strong at throwing punches, but is good at dodging.
Though Raei felt she should be used to it by now, she couldn't shake her feeling of missing her cold upbringing, while traveling near the pillar. It was not as chilly out here, and while she could handle it just fine, it was not nearly as comfortable as her home. Her... former home now. Upon getting closer the bright beam that lit the sky, the long haired woman started to hear all sorts of tunes. Stopping and then starting again they came and went... It was very quiet at first, but as she approached her destination, the music got louder and louder. Not just that, but she started to hear voices and see figures. Feeling a tad nervous, the woman wasn't sure if her course of action was the right one. She hadn't been around many different kind of people in her life. In fact, most of her life was spent around her own race. Very few interactions with others. Especially... giants? A large man, some children and... all sorts of people were starting to come clear to the woman now. She wore her mask over her face, and as she continued to get closer to the group, she whipped out her hood and left it drooping over her head, only her eyes and a few strands of hair visible. As nervous as she was feeling now, she did not once stop her walk to the Castle. She knew very little of the whole situation that their world was being thrown into... Only passing rumors between her family and friends and then occasionally shouts from people with whom she'd seen on her way to this place. If the people who lit this beacon of sorts knew more than she did, then she was gaining something from this trek, yes? Slowing her pace, her eyes surveyed her surroundings, taking in everything and waiting to be noticed. She kept both hands to her sides and stood tall, back straight and head tilted down.

Panna blinked towards the taller woman, his freckled cheeks reddening. "Why..." He scratched behind his head, "Why I never meant to question your intelligence, ma'am. My humblest apologies." Panna's words rung with sincerity. However, he turned away from Ael'Ari quickly afterwards, not wanting to risk souring her mood any further. He wasn't.... good with type A personalities. He instead turned his attention to the kids from earlier.
Panna gave a defeated sigh as his words seemed to bounce off the younger generation ineffective. However, there was some promise in the group. The bard and girl cloaked in red had started a discussion on how they both cast, leaving Panna to look down at his own hand and question his already capped potential. Panna flexed his fingers, questioning if things with have turned out differently if his life had taken a different path before his hand dropped and the traveler looked ahead.
"Nah," Panna said to himself.

Storm Fly Explain "It Is Very Special To Me Since Its The Only Thing I Have Got To Protect Me And It's The Only Thing I Have Left Of My Family" She Starts To Trail Off As She Is Remembered That Her Family Is Missing And She Doesn't Know If She Will Ever See Them Again. She nodded in understanding as the girl went on about her doll. She knew it must have had an interesting story to it. From her explanation it must have been magical as well, being able to protect her and such. Her heart strings were pulled as the little girl lamented about her family, and Nyle was reminded of just how young the girl was. The poor thing- such a short life span did not deserve what was happening around them. The poor girl, the poor, poor girl- "Oh hon, don't sweat it." She said in response to the girl berating herself for her rudeness. She then was asked of her abilities once again, and stood from her slouching posture to explain with a puffed up stance. "Oh! I'm a fire mage! But, I can do more than just that. I'm a carpenter! Before all this, I built houses," she finished with a smile. Slowing her pace, her eyes surveyed her surroundings, taking in everything and waiting to be noticed. She kept both hands to her sides and stood tall, back straight and head tilted down. From her perspective, as she finished explaining to the girl she saw another traveler appear from afar. Due to her chipper mood, she made no hesitation to speak. "Hello there, welcome! If you're here for the beacon, Anden there is the one who lit it! Talk with him some, he'll explain everything!" She gestured with her thumb towards the man in question, hoping dearly that the newcomer was as friendly as some of the characters she'd come across before.

Name: Pema Age: 31 Race: Golem Gender: Male Appearance: Abilities: Pema is a monk who functions as a tank who wields a giant sword and uses sound magic. His naturally rock hard body allows him to take tons of damage and the large sword is good for blocking powerful attacks. His sound magic can be used to emit a frequency that temps thorns to attack him instead of his allies, as well as making his allies harder to hear. Pema's sound magic also allows him to create loud sounds that irritate opponents, communicate with his teammates, and hear opponents coming from long distances. Short History: Golems have always been mindless creations that can only obey the commands of their creators, but Pema mysteriously gained free will and self awareness. After his creator died Pema set off on his own to find the meaning of his existence through monk teachings. He fell in love with nature during his adventures and considered all of nature precious until the thorns began to attack. To see nature being so vicious made Pema question his view of life and his morality even further. Now Pema searches for others to adventure with in search for answers. Other: He's supposed to act like he's wise and calm and stuff. You know... since he's a monk, and he's REALLY into nature.
After heading towards the beacon of light for what felt like an eternity Pema finally heard the sound of survivors nearby. He began to walk faster towards the crowd out of excitement but then he noticed something. He heard something terrifying. He rushed over to the survivors as fast as he could and found the source of danger that he could hear with his sound magic. Pema entered the scene and screamed " WATCH OUT!" as he ran straight to Raei before tackling her to the ground with his rock hard body. He looked like he was crazy because there was no thorn or any sign of danger in sight. Pema turned to a tiny beetle on the ground where Raei might have stepped if she had walked towards Anden like she was told to and said to the beetle "Thank goodness you're alright." Pema took a sigh of relief and took the beetle into his hands to take it some place safe. He looked at this beetle as if it were as precious to him as a human child, and had forgotten to apologize to Raei for tackling her as he stared at this beetle.

Delphi nodded, her nerves coming to an ease as she let out a sigh. While tales of other races were told and studied in Loukios, it was only on rare occasions would one see such an outsider that carried stark differences in comparison to their own features. Never had she encountered a giant such as Leander, and it admittedly made her feel both entranced and uneasy. Poppy had appeared to take a liking to him, albeit the woman was probably a bit too trusting for her own good... Still, it didn't hurt to humor the idea of viewing the world from his shoulders. However, she shut her eyelids and forgot the thought. She was on a mission; she couldn't afford to dawdle in the tomfoolery of others- An unfamiliar voice bellowed through the air, immediately shocking Delphi's senses and bringing her to her feet. She gripped her wand tightly, the incantations racing through her mind as she prepared to conjure a barrier. "Where's the danger!?" her voice cried, swiftly turning to the direction the desperate plead rang from. Yet she was met with an abnormal... man? Rock? Rock-man? Whatever the case, his lunged his body atop an unsuspecting bystander whom Delphi had not yet been acquainted with. For a moment, she had pondered if the man was the assailant himself, or if he had caught a ne'er-do-well of sorts. All of her speculations were brought to a swift halt as the anomaly gazed with absolute tenderness at the luminescent beetle that rested in his palms. He sauntered away from the woman he had just so rudely pummeled into the dirt; the insect was of absolute importance, apparently. As Delphi stared wide-eyed with her jaw agape, she had come to realize how ridiculous she must have come to look with her overreaction. Her face grew hot as she glanced at her feet in puzzlement, still unsure of what she had just witnessed. After somewhat regaining her sense of dignity, she poised herself once more as the proper stance called for before taking a step back with her wand still drawn.
Her voice beckoned to the mysterious being, "Who are you and what is your purpose?" Despite the rather nonsensical occurrence, she had quickly fallen back to her usual flat and matter-of-fact demeanor. "Have you come in search of the beacon's torch bearer?" Delphi tightened her grasp on her wand, wary of the man's next movement.

" WATCH OUT!" as he ran straight to Raei before tackling her to the ground with his rock hard body. After staying silent for a while, she heard a cry warning somone. She whipped her head around to the source of the cry, Vines rose from her arms, and she pulled herself into a stance of attack. "What, what is it?!" she called in a panicked tone, fully expecting thorns or some intruder to be attacking. Her runes lit up more and more as the vines from her arms rose in the air. She noticed that there seemed to be nothing wrong. Oh boy, she was pissed. She indentified that the source of the cry was only playing with a beetle. "Just what do you think you're doing?!" she inquired, her voice commanding an answer.

Pema put the beetle on a leaf attached to a nearby bush and replied "I am Pema, a monk who once considered this forest his home. I came here in search of survivors and I wish to aid you all in any way I can." Pema considered explaining that he was also searching for a greater understanding of nature and life, but noticing what Vel'Ari said changed his train of thought. "Just what do you think you're doing?!" she inquired, her voice commanding an answer. Her words made Pema realize how terribly he messed up. He looked over to Raei who he just tackled and shouted "I'M TERRIBLY SORRY! I shouldn't have tackled you! Please forgive me!" The golem monk got on his hands and knees and bowed in order to be polite, but he took the bowing a bit far. He took off his hat and slammed his head to the ground again and again so hard that it sounded as if he was breaking the ground beneath him. Pema answered Vel'Ari's question by saying to Raei "My intention was to save the life of the beetle that you were going to step on, but I should have found a calmer and less violent way to resolve that. I hope you aren't injured! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" He continued to say "I'm sorry!" over and over again and bow by slamming his head onto the ground.
