'You are not that tall though..' Upon saying this, Luair clasped her mouth shut and with both hands covered it for measure. She pulled them away slightly and said, 'I'm sorry, I was not thinking.' She hoped he wouldn't take offence. 'We are told that every elf is our own. Your mother sounds very interesting. I would like to meet her someday.' When the battling was over, she hoped to experience many, many things. She liked the idea of Osseus being there too. But she stopped herself before she got carried away. 'Well, it would be nice if I could!' she added.

"O-Oxy!?" A wave of relief washed over her as she could barely make out the toddler's figure in the dim glow. Thank goodness! "Are you alright? That was a long drop!" She inspected the little one, looking for sign of injury until she found herself distracted by her surroundings. Just where were they? It was almost pitch black save for the child's rock, which she found herself raising her eyebrow at curiously. The light had barely bounced off the objects nearby, and she could recognize a link of chains spilling from atop a structure. When trying to inch further, her foot had brushed up against an unfamiliar item. Ooro's face was riddled with confusion, obviously perplexed by what she had just encountered. It was a toy; one fit for a child. Did Oxy have one I didn't see? Warily picking it up with one hand, she whispered "Oxy, is this your's?" Though, after asking she had realized that next to the boy's feet was a wooden plaything of a wagon, and that scattered across the room was a mess of abandoned gadgets for kids to occupy themselves with. They littered the room, seemingly untouched and forgotten. She lowered the toy in front of the boy, surrendering it back to its old spot once more. The whole room carried an eerie presence that sent a chill down her spine. Her eyes peered for a way out, but as of the moment could only spot a set of unfinished stairs. She sighed, "Don't worry, we'll get out of here." Ooro tilted her head upwards, in thought about how they wound up there in the first place. Perhaps if they got desperate enough, she could attempt to climb out- but for now it would be worth checking out for a more convenient way out... hopefully. This place struck a nerve, and made her uneasy. "Oxy? Can you hold your light so we can look around a bit more? I'm right beside you if you get scared," she tried to offer a reassuring smile. Oxy kicked one of the toys out of the way as Ooro looked over them. "I think so," He whispered, answering her question. "I don't know..." He reached out to hand Ooro the light, hesitated, and then drew it back closer to himself, petting it softly. He wasn't really looking for a way out as he wandered around the room, touching various objects and riffling through the wardrobe a bit. He found a few baby outfits tucked away and make a face, shoving them back in. Eventually, he found himself back at the crib. He stared at it for a long moment, eyeing the name engraved on the outside. "Zulle," He frowned. This was the name Tairaga had used when he had been pretending to be someone else. Had it really been intended for him? If his father had taken him, would 'Zulle' roll as easily off his tongue as 'Oxy' did? He crawled quietly up into the crib, pushing the chains out of the way and sitting in the middle. It was a bit small for him now, but he still fit. He tried to imagine living in this cramped room, away from the outside world and locked away. His father probably wouldn't even have visited him. He picked up the chains and let them slip quietly through his fingers, too preoccupied with 'coulds' and 'woulds' to help Ooro search around the rest of the area. He had the rock still clutched selfishly in his hand.

Zerah turned away from Manasa and climbed back onto the slab, kicking his legs back and forth off the side of it, his hands clasped together as he stared up at the ceiling. He began to giggle to himself and turned his head back towards Manasa. "Heheh, sorry about getting all sappy there...that was really lame of me! I'm fine, really! You can go up and see the rest of the guild. I'm sure they're worried about you.." Zerah smiled at her, the first sincere smile he had given anyone in the guild. Zerah began to let his mind drift. Zerah really had been alone most of his life, with very small interaction in between, most of which were awful. In fact, the worst of all his interactions happened in this very room. Manasa smiled sadly. She sat down next to Zerah on the slab. It was a bit of a tight squeeze, making the whole process a bit awkward but the vishkanyan looked past it. Manasa held onto one of the chains connecting the slab to the ceiling and then turned to face the imp as she addressed him. "They don't hate you, they just don't know you yet... Some of us are a bit hard to approach and rough around the edges, but I suppose that's the group you get during a time like this. They're not bad just... A little different." Manasa started to kick her feet, matching the little imp's pace. She thought of his plight and how it closely matched her own... Could her words even be believed coming from her own mouth. Manasa shook her head, thinking of Oxy, Gremlon, Mimisko, Daryn and... "To tell you the truth, I felt the same way when I first joined... Rylan changed all that. He was very special..." Manasa smiled and wiped a tear forming at the corner of her eye. "I'm sorry. I forgot, you never met him."

Mimisko smiled. "That's good you two decide to come along. So, shall we get going?" Mimisko remember that looking back, when she first joined, she wouldn't have enough confident to interact with them. Now, she does. While keeping her gentle nature, she is more confident than before.] [/spoiler

Zerah's face changed from a sorrowful frown to an enraged scowl at the mention of the priest's name. Zerah looked down at the ground as the blood on his arms began to bubble and boil. Zerah hopped off the slab, facing away from Manasa, the bubbling of his arms only growing more and more intense as the slab began to illuminate its magenta hue once more. "Oh. I met him. I met that son of a bitch. In fact, it was in this very castle I met that 'priest.'" Zerah made air quotes with two of his fingers, still facing away from the Vishkanyan. "In this very room, that priest did unspeakable things to me. In fact, he's the reason I'm like this!!" Zerah held out his arms, raising his voice from a low snarl to full blown shouting. He turned back around to face the woman, rage plastered across the imp's face. Zerah raised his shirt, revealing a strange symbol seemingly burned into his chest. "See this? This is why I'm like this. THIS is why I have this black blood. THIS is why I've been slowly going insane. THIS IS WHY I'M A FUCKING MONSTER! ALL BECAUSE OF THAT DAMN PRIEST!!!" Zerah was screaming at the top of his lungs, his voice echoing throughout the torture chamber. {Spoiler - Click to View} Zerah looked back down at the floor, shaking with wrath. "You didn't know that man. The REAL Rylan. The side no man would ever want to show anyone. The sins he committed. I could never forgive that man. Not after that day..."

Ooro watched as the toddler seemingly forgot about her, and continued to crawl into what apparently had been a crib that the chains inhabited. His tiny hands fiddled with the loops of the chains as he settled in the cramped space. While doing so, he continued to clench the rock tightly in his fingers. The scene was rather forlorn despite that while this confined area had the elements of a children's play space- it was lacking the comfort that young ones needed to grow up in. The toys had tossed about, without a soul to pick them back up and place them back in order. There was no light as to suggest an absence of warmth. After all, if one was left to sit in the dark, it was so that they could not be seen. Out of all the items, the most striking had been the chains. They were meant to keep something in its place, to constrain them from ever daring to step out of it.
To teach them restraint.
Anju did not have the most toys out of the village children, nor were they of the highest quality. Sometimes the paint was smudged when Marcus had attempted to draw the wooden animal's face on, but Anju played with them regardless. At the end of the day when she had worn herself out, Ooro often found herself picking up the scattered playthings and arranging them back on her dresser as Anju first found them. When the night grew strong, Lily left a candle lit inside the room so the girl would not imagine the creatures of the dark appearing by her bedside.
Her eyelids hung heavily over her pupils, and she silently strolled to the crib before taking a seat on the floor beside it. She leaned her back against the bars and peeked through to see the light glow shine against the toddler's face. She hadn't known a thing about Oxy, but she knew how children expressed their grief. They tended to either sob their eyes out until they tired out, or grow deathly silent. Seeing the small, red-haired child sulk to himself had caused her heart to sink.
There was nothing immediate she could say, and the words stuck in her throat as she tried to offer some comfort. At first, she quietly hummed a melody she remembered Lily reciting to Anju. However, she ended up stumbling over the song after a few notes, before offering a weak smile "I'm sorry... I don't remember it too well." She hung her head low again, before raising her voice "Oxy, would you like to talk about anything? I'm... sure your mother is looking for you."

Zerah's outburst had shook the platform the two hard been sitting on, causing manasa to lose her balance and fall off landing painfully on the back of her head. She let out a fearful scream that resonated throughout the entire chamber. The vishkanyan sat up, scrambling back from the angered imp and clutching her now bleeding head. Tears rain from here eyes as she tried to comprehend what he was saying through a familiar ringing in her ears. Rylan was... Rylan wasn't like that. He couldn't be.

"If she's still Ma," He muttered under his breath, pushing the chains aside. He looked up at Ooro, not aware the woman knew nothing of his past with Tairaga. To him it wasn't something that needed to be kept a secret; it was apart of him just like his fearen blood. He moved uncomfortably in the crib, pressing his fingers through the bars. "Daddy's are nice, right?" He whispered to her, his face contorting a bit as his voice shook. He didn't know why this was upsetting him so much, the emotions flowed whether he wanted them to or not. There was a tightness in his chest that hurt worse than when Rylan had rejected him after first seeing his fearen form. "Mommy's and Daddy's love each other like they love their babies. Mommy's sing lullabies and Daddy's scare away the monsters..." His hands tightened on the bars so hard an audible 'crack' could be heard from the wood. "Daddy's aren't supposed to be the monsters..." A few tears escaped his eyes and he pulled hard at the wood until he broke the bar clean off. He through it angrily across the room, hitting the rocking chair. It moved slowly back and forth and he buried his face in his knees and started to sob.

She hoped he wouldn't take offence. He was taken aback by the comment, and immediately blurted out his secret to defend himself. "Well, I'm not even fully dark elf-!" He shut himself up to try and keep the rest under wraps. With someone as innocent as her, she couldn't be able to know about that. He then noticed her manners coming back, so he sighed in relief that she did understand some things. But she didn't understand the one fundamental thing about being a kid in this world. A memory flashed in his mind before he could really respond to teach her about it. An inky night sky set the scene as a young boy of about 14 trudged onto a street corner, one of the last remnants of civilization. He shivered in his clothing as he struggled to find shelter or food. A seemingly abandoned tavern showed itself among all of the other buildings that were falling apart. Without thinking about the consequences, he entered the tavern, electing to sit next to a man who seemed to be about 20-something and decently burly. "WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT, KID!?" The man sitting next to him was clearly irritated at the sight of Osseus, most likely drunk as well. He seemed to be a hardened man, with his teeth being knocked out from bar fights. With tears streaming down his face, and his head hanging low, Osseus responded to the drunk guy's inquiry. 'My mom and dad..." He whimpered, hoping the guy sitting next to him would understand his emotions and stop antagonizing him. The young man decked the child in the face, causing him to fall off the stool, cowering on the ground. "All of us have dead family members, kid. You aren't special for being an orphan piece of shit," He yelled, electing to leave the kid to writhe on the ground for everyone else to beat on him. "You ain't gonna survive if all you can do is cry about your problems, " The drunk guy scoffed at the boy before leaving the area. Osseus's better judgement came in as he escaped the tavern, escaping being brutalized by men much more experienced in combat than him. It did teach him something: tragedy was the norm. No use complaining. "My mom's been dead for the past 2 years. Eaten by fearen just like my dad and everyone else," He nonchalantly responded. As nonchalant as an emotionally disturbed 15 year old could manage, since that comment struck more than enough chords within his being. "Then again, mom didn't like elves or anyone else outside of me or Dad, so I don't know..." his words faltered, wearing a forlorn expression.

Ooro was caught off guard by the toddler's sudden display of strength was once more, but felt worse as he curled up into a ball while sobbing. The poor child had grown up during a time of hardships, and by the sound of it his family situation only served to make him even more conflicted. While she initially jumped at the sight, she had scooted back into her original position by the crib, but turned to face him this time. "Oxy, I think I get you- even if just a little." Her brows drew together as her face hardened.
"Mommy's and Daddy's love each other and like they love their babies." The words had stung her deeply as she ran her nail along her forehead.
"There are times, where even moms and dads are not... right." She swallowed hard, "My... mother and father, were like such. It is something that often cannot be controlled." Alroth's prediction had rung in her ears, the one in which Oxy would be deemed an "outcast", one who supposedly does not share a place among others. The thought that one day, this child could be sitting among the trees by himself...
"But your mommy loves you. I've seen her fight for you tooth and nail; I remember the time she could barely draw a breath back when I first patched her up. There is no doubt within me, that your mommy does everything with you in her mind first and foremost." The corner of her lips tugged at a grin, "Not everyone has mommies or daddiess- including me. Yet... you find others to love, and others to love you back. Your mommy is still here, and I am your friend," At least I hope so.
"Please, chin up. It hurts me to see you cry."

"Please, chin up. It hurts me to see you cry." Oxy tried to be comforted by Ooro's words, but reminding him of the first battle had him seizing at his chest. He clutched the pendant and stared into space with his chest heaving up and down beneath his hand. "I hurt Mama," he whispered the secret that had only transpired between himself, Rylan and Celty. It was something that still troubled his sleep at night. He remembered what the large suite of armor has said...there wasn't a place for him. He hurt people. He hurt Celty, the only person who ever loved him. And Rylan. If only he'd learned of his fearen powers early on, he could've... The thought struck him out of nowhere and his shoulders shook when he realized it. "I could've saved him," he said. "I could've..." Oxy's ears pricked up when the sound of nearby screaming startled him from his darker thoughts. His eyes went wide and he crawled out of the crib quickly, knocking on the chains so it rattled through the wooden bars. He put his ear up to the wall where the scream had come from and tried to listen for something, anything. He blinked hard when he heard the sound of movement. "Mana is here!" He said to Ooro with fear in his eyes. He pressed his hand hard against the wooden wall as though he could push it out of the way. "Mana!" He yelled through the wall, desperation clear in his voice.

Ooro watched as the toddler broke out of his troubled daze and ran to the other side upon hearing Manasa's cry echo through the room.
Ooro raised an eyebrow, shocked at the shrill scream that had just been heard in the chamber. Is she in trouble!? Wasting no time, she dashed across to Oxy's position and watched as he attempted to push at the wall. She ran her hand along its structure, finding out it was built of wood. There was nothing she saw in the room that would serve as a suffice exit, and even so, just where was Manasa in the castle? "Oxy, stand back!"
She swung her arm over her head and forward with all of her might- and with that her flesh had mutated into her claw. For a moment, she sat hacking away at the wood endlessly until an ample opening had been made. Ooro had slipped through first, and motioned Oxy to follow after. Her eyes widened upon seeing the vishkanyan's head dripping red, and scurried to the dancer's side. "Manasa! What happened!?" She ripped at her tabard and offered it to the woman to wrap her injury with.

Zerah's emotions changed from incredible rage to fear in an instant as he saw the woman fall over and scream. Zerah moved towards her, his hands outstretched, as he watched the woman's head begin to bleed. Zerah was shaking in fear, when two more guild members entered the room. Oxy and Ooro.
"I...I..I didn't mean to! It was an accident! I was angry and she fell and..and...." Zerah was trying to find the words to explain the situation, but couldn't think straight. "I'm....I'm sorry! I..." With that, Zerah backed away from the group and bolted out the door, heading further down the dungeon's corridor.
Zerah managed to find his old room once more and ran inside. As he slammed the door shut, his finger morphed into a key, and he locked the wooden door behind him. He sat down on the cold, stone floor, his head buried into his knees.
"I keep hurting people....this is where I belong.." Zerah began to sob. "I am a monster..."

Oxy shielded his face as Ooro clawed away at the wall, woods chips flying through the air. He ducked inside with her a moment later, rushing up to Mana. He looked her over carefully, reaching out and touching her wound with his hand before anyone could stop him. It singed his hand from the poison in her blood but he took no mind of that. The red sparks flew for a moment before he pulled back, suddenly scared for the first time. If he continued to heal so recklessly, would he hurt her just like Mama? He didn't want to be the thing these people were so afraid of. He stared at her quietly for only a moment more, taking a deep breath, "Don't die," he told her firmly, but that was all he managed to get out before Zerah fled from the room. Zerah's emotions changed from incredible rage to fear in an instant as he saw the woman fall over and scream. The actions of the imp reminded him so much of his current mixed emotions that he got up to follow him in a heartbeat with little hesitation, despite the bad interactions he'd had with him previously. He looked back and Manasa and Ooro with concern and panic flickering through his eyes. "I gotta go!" He yelled, before running after the imp. He'd just managed to catch the last bit of what Zerah said when he'd caught up, breathing heavily from running so fast. He plopped down in front of the door and didn't say anything for a moment, trying to catch his breath. When he finally did, he looked back up at the dor and with no warning unclasped the pendant and allowed the illusion to fall. He gulped in a few more breaths of air. "I...don't mean...to be bad," He managed to say, his voice unstable, "so you don't either...right?" He held the cloak tightly in his arms. He hated being mad at this man. He remembered the first interaction they had, gathering wood in the forest. He reached up and placed his hand against the door, a sad look in his eyes. "You hurt Ma...you hurt Mana...but..." he looked down at his extended claws with obvious disgust. "I hurt them too."

"That's good you two decide to come along. So, shall we get going?" Enoch nodded, finding himself chuckling as Daryn ruffled the young fire mage's hair. "Daryn already did a little exploring, so she can guide us away from the boring parts. I need to find some new armor though so keep your eyes peeled," he hummed, stretching and starting their trek through the hallways. The sheer scale of the castle still flabbergasted the priest, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of awe despite the uneasy atmosphere caused by numerous amount of portraits of the fallen king. As the three of them walked together down the hallway, he glanced over at Mimisko. She'd really grown up a lot since the first battle, the first battle where she'd been a terrified child. The first battle where I scolded her... She'd truly proven herself to be a powerful fighter, and he couldn't help but feel a little guilty for being harsh towards her in the beginning. Gently patting her back, Enoch smiled a little bit. "You did a really good job out there, kid."
