Enoch nodded, finding himself chuckling as Daryn ruffled the young fire mage's hair. "Daryn already did a little exploring, so she can guide us away from the boring parts. I need to find some new armor though so keep your eyes peeled," he hummed, stretching and starting their trek through the hallways. The sheer scale of the castle still flabbergasted the priest, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of awe despite the uneasy atmosphere caused by numerous amount of portraits of the fallen king. As the three of them walked together down the hallway, he glanced over at Mimisko. She'd really grown up a lot since the first battle, the first battle where she'd been a terrified child. The first battle where I scolded her... She'd truly proven herself to be a powerful fighter, and he couldn't help but feel a little guilty for being harsh towards her in the beginning. Gently patting her back, Enoch smiled a little bit. "You did a really good job out there, kid." Mimisko smiled at Enoch as he gently patted her back. "Thank you. If it weren't for you and everyone else in this guild, I wouldn't have made it~!" Mimisko remembered how, while it was harsh, Enoch did help her snapped out of her breakdown during the first battle. "I'm happy to be in Shadow Slayers with all of you!"

Mimisko remembered how, while it was harsh, Enoch did help her snapped out of her breakdown during the first battle. "I'm happy to be in Shadow Slayers with all of you!" Enoch smiled at the fire mage, somewhat relieved to see she hadn't been jaded by the terrible events from the past battle. Still kind as ever. "I am too," he replied gently, looking around the hall as they reached an area where different rooms branched off. I am too. The guild had saved his life no matter which way he looked at it. And watching the members grow with each other and become closer gave him hope and a genuine sort of happiness he hadn't experienced in a very long time. "Hey! Daryn! Which way didn't you go yet?" he asked as they reached a crossroads.

Manasa dizzily looked towards the elven woman, clotting her wound with the cloth she had offered.
Manasa's face shifted into a look of disappointment as the imp fled the scene. She had come down to help him, yet her actions had only served to push him farther from the guild. The vishkanyan pressed the cloth against her head to hold back the blood flow and then looked up at Ooro, blinking. "I... I think I frightened him. This place hold very bad memories for him, I must have triggered something..."
The realization that Oxy and Zerah were now alone sunk in. She couldn't let another accident happen, not to Oxy of all guild members. Manasa stood up and shakily gained her footing before walking towards Oxy and Zerah, surprised to see the imp caged. She held her tongue, however, waiting to see how the two interacted before jumping in, seeing as how Zerah was safely behind a cage.

"Hey! Daryn! Which way didn't you go yet?" he asked as they reached a crossroads. "Ah, just this way!" Daryn called out behind her. Mimisko and Enoch had fallen behind a few paces and exchanged words she didn't care to listen to. They passed an open door where she'd gotten her robe, pointed to it and said "Boring,". She kept walking and turned another corner, passing two other rooms she'd already checked where she hadn't found anything of interest and did the same thing to both doors as she had the first. Finally, Daryn and the others passed a large door housing a courtyard with a familiar suit of armor standing in the sunlight. "Ha-hey, would ya look at that! It's winter and this place is in full bloom!" Daryn shouted in amazement. She approached both the tree and the armor which stood stock still in front of it. The tree was obviously the main attraction with it's oddly shining leaves. Daryn had never seen anything like it before, and couldn't help but smile. "You really found a masterpiece out here, Alroth!" She patted the armor's back with force, not realizing there was no one inside to react. "I wonder what's how it's even this green in here? It's amazing!"

"Hey, be careful!" Pinky called from her perch on the glimmer tree. "Step on any of these flowers and I'll bury your corpse underneath them." she warned. The threat wasn't entirely serious, which was hopefully conveyed through the pixie's more casual way of speaking.
Pinky stepped forward on her branch, very carefully keeping her balance as the walkway narrowed. She was a little bit higher than Daryn's face, and looked down at the clumsy warrior accordingly. "This is a lethlglyneros -" she explained matter-of-factly despite the nigh unpronounceable word "- a glimmer tree. It creates a field of natural magic that helps the plants grow." There was a strong doubt in her mind that she could interest Daryn in dendrology, but the pixie at least had wanted to answer the woman's question.

He'd just managed to catch the last bit of what Zerah said when he'd caught up, breathing heavily from running so fast. He plopped down in front of the door and didn't say anything for a moment, trying to catch his breath. When he finally did, he looked back up at the dor and with no warning unclasped the pendant and allowed the illusion to fall. He gulped in a few more breaths of air. "I...don't mean...to be bad," He managed to say, his voice unstable, "so you don't either...right?" He held the cloak tightly in his arms. He hated being mad at this man. He remembered the first interaction they had, gathering wood in the forest. He reached up and placed his hand against the door, a sad look in his eyes. "You hurt Ma...you hurt Mana...but..." he looked down at his extended claws with obvious disgust. "I hurt them too." Zerah heard the small child speaking from behind the locked, wooden door. Zerah sat there for a moment, trying to find the words to say, his eye still red from crying. He nuzzled his head back into his armor-clad knees and took a deep breath. "No...I don't mean to be bad...I just am...." Zerah spoke softly. "I've always been bad..I always hurt people...." Zerah looked up at the stone ceiling. He used his arm to wipe away his tears, and turned his head towards the door, speaking up a bit. "Don't be like me, Oxy... You have a chance to do great things in this world. Don't let that go to waste." Zerah stated, sorrow completely engulfing his voice. Zerah stood up from the ground. He breathed out, and while doing so the black ooze covering his arms fell to the floor in a puddle, revealing two awkwardly cut stumps where the rest of his arms should be. Zerah looked down at them, the skin permanently darker from having the blood on them for 2 years. Zerah frowned at the sight and summoned the blood to form his hands once more. He sat back down, head resting against his legs.

He cocked his head at Zerah, not knowing how else to console the man. Having this barrier between them made it harder for him to comfort. He reached one of arms through the bars helplessly, letting it dangle and scrape against the wood on the other side. "Then be good," he said it so simply is sounded ridiculous, but it was plain as day to him. "If you don't wanna be bad, thats good. Now be good ." He rested his chin on the opening and continued to stare in, red eyes glowing in the dim lighting. "You gotta try." He whispered. "You gotta."

The threat wasn't entirely serious, which was hopefully conveyed through the pixie's more casual way of speaking. Daryn was surprised by the pixie's voice coming from overhead and whipped her head up in reaction to it. She then processed what the girl said and laughed loudly at the threat. Pinky then continued to speak. "Leth..." Daryn muttered, trailing off and immediately forgetting the rest of the name. "A glimmer tree!" Daryn whispered quietly in awe. Such a title for a tree seemed so fantastic to Daryn's small knowledge of the world. She looked at the leaves of the towering plant life, almost wanting to touch them. There was however a slight fear of the unknown nagging the back of her mind, helping her resist the temptation. "Well, I'd heard of magical beings but I never heard of a magical tree! I gotta be honest, I didn't expect it at all." Daryn said, moving from her spot to look around the trunk a bit. She then remembered her comrades behind her and turned around to face them, with the whole of her arm pointing at the glimmer tree. "Guys! This tree is magic!" She shouted. Normally she was opposed to magic and the like, but that was when there was a person hiding behind it. With a plant, Daryn had no feelings of distaste. It amazed her more than appalled her.

As Daryn called, Mimisko walked up slowly, taking Pinky's warning a little seriously.
"Leth..el..glyn. Um....Okay, I'll be honest, I have a hard time pronouncing the name a bit. Sorry."
Mimisko smiles nervously. Pronouncing "lethlglyneros" was not her strong suit. She looks at the tree in awe.
"A glimmer tree, huh? A tree with a lot of magic in it... That's really cool!"
Mimisko stepped closer but she is still being careful.
"I hope that these days, if my brother comes here, I gotta show him this!" she said in excitement.

Enoch followed Daryn into the courtyard, his eyes wide with awe at the copious amounts of blooming flowers, and a tree he'd never seen before, glimmering in the center. The scene would be breathtaking in any season, but to see such a spectacle in the winter was Alroth was standing right in the middle, and it wasn't until Daryn smacked the back of the puppet that he realized that it was empty. "Hey, be careful!" Pinky called from her perch on the glimmer tree. "Step on any of these flowers and I'll bury your corpse underneath them." she warned. The threat wasn't entirely serious, which was hopefully conveyed through the pixie's more casual way of speaking. The priest froze, his gaze slowly shifting down to his feet before he sighed in relief and relaxed, looking up at the small pixie on the branch and chuckling. He'd only seen her emerge from afar a couple times prior, and even then he'd never gotten the chance to speak with her. Frankly, despite her miniscule size, he found her somewhat intimidating. Even outside of Alroth. "This is a lethlglyneros -" she explained matter-of-factly despite the nigh unpronounceable word "- a glimmer tree. It creates a field of natural magic that helps the plants grow. "Le-thl-gly-ne-ros...?" Enoch sounded out each syllable deliberately, trying to follow along as best as he could before staring at the tree in fascination, touching the bark gently. He had only a very vague idea of how Alroth worked. Heck, he'd never met a pixie before Alroth, and had only read vaguely about them. "Guys! This tree is magic!" She shouted. The priest burst into laughter at Daryn's fascination, nodding and circling the tree carefully, almost afraid to touch it or mess with the flora. "It's really amazing, Pinky. What's the purpose of doing this? How does it work?" he asked curiously, biting his tongue as more questions flooded into mind.

"No, no, no, no...." She muttered as she thumbed through a book. God, this was getting really annoying, she hadn't been finding a single thing. She'd decided to finish up looking through the non-fiction section, as it had proven to be of absolutely no assistance to her. Now, where would somebody find a book on a strange creature they had encountered, without any knowledge of it. Eureka! The poetry and mythology section. She stood on a cart used to haul books around and propelled herself forward by pushing off of the ground with her foot. Galystris had most likely more fun than she should have doing this. When she found the correct section, she jumped off and let the cart go crash somewhere over yonder. She looked through the different authors, until she spied an acclaimed poet, who she had heard to have been a bit senile. "Maybe in here...." Galystris pulled the book from the shelf an opened it, and a slip of paper fell out. Her eyes widened a bit, as this was rather unexpected. She had assumed it was a paper somebody had used as a bookmark, until she took a moment to look at it It was a poem, seemingly by that same author, although she couldn't be completely sure, as the poem had no date or signature on it. The thing that really stuck out, was that the bottom of the page was ripped, hell, it seemed to have been bitten off, and stains of blood covered the bottom. Galystris would have normally assumed it to be red ink, but the words on the page were in black. She sighed and decided to cut to the chase and read the poem.
"Fear"
'As clouds of grey rise overhead
My heart, my heart, fills up with dread
'Do mine eyes decieve me?'
I would ask, I would plea
For if I stay,
Hidden away
I know that I would....'
A huge ink blot, followed by a shaky line that stretched off of the page was how the poem ended. It seemed to show that the writer had lost grip on their pen....very hopefully for artistic reasons. She folded the poem and out it in her pocket. She knew it would be useful later.

She slowly lowered her arm in embarrassment, understanding the priest was likely laughing at her reaction to the tree. She cleared her throat and looked to Mimisko instead, nodded slightly and looked back up at Pinky. She awaited the answers to Enoch's questions just as eagerly as he seemed to.

The only honest answer Pinky had for the first question was "No one knows the purpose. It goes against nature's order - kind of like magic its self, I guess." it felt strange to be talking with them in such an ordinary way. She hadn't had such a conversation the entire time she'd been with the guild, and not for the two years prior. "They draw in excess energy from their surroundings and then release it in a form which is beneficial to the plants. Some think they were created by wizards, or that maybe they were meant to be homes for things like pixies. It's kind of like a desert oasis." Pinky shrugged, having explained to the best of her ability. She might have asked a counter-question if she were better at socialization, but alas the pixie was only thinking about her answer.

Oxy let the cloak fall on the floor and jumped up towards the small window, hands clasping the bars as his heels pressed against the wood to keep himself propped up. Oh how Zerah wished it would be that easy for him. Zerah stood up once again, surprised to see Oxy in his fearen form peering into the small window. He hoped that no one else was around that hadn't been there in the forest. "Heheh, I wish it was that easy for me, buddy. Let me tell you a little secret. You see this blood?" Zerah pointed towards his arm. "Well, this blood does different things to a person, depending on their race when it mixes with magic. For example, if a human had this blood and used magic, his skin would start to...uh.." Zerah was about to say petrify, but figured the word might be too complicated for Oxy to understand. "It'd start to turn into stone. If an elf were to use magic with this blood, his skin would burn away. If a vishkanyan were to use magic with this blood, they'd get frostbite." Zerah had learned this through his travels over the years, coming across a few people who had the same ritual performed on them. "Now, here's what it does to me. I have to use magic to keep this blood in the shape of my hands. Now while, it doesn't take too much magic, it still takes its toll. This blood, when mixed with magic, drives imps crazy, to the point where they can't tell bad from good." Zerah explained it in a lighter way, not wanting to tell Oxy that his brain was deteriorating as a result of the ooze. "Now, I've had this blood for two years now, and it's already gotten to where it's hard for me to tell what's good and what's not." Zerah smiled, trying to keep his spirits up for the child. Zerah formed his finger into a key and unlocked the door, while the small child was still hanging from it. He emerged from the room, and picked Oxy off of the door and turned the child to face him. "But you know what, I promise I'm gonna try my best to be good, but you have to promise me something." Zerah set Oxy down. "You have to be good too! You gotta grow up to be a hero, okay?" Zerah smiled at the little shapeshifter, waiting for his response.

Zerah smiled at the little shapeshifter, waiting for his response. Oxy was confused for most of Zerah's explanation, but managed to get most of it to the best of his abilities. He tried relating it back to himself as best he could for comparison. "Like when I touch people," He booped his nose for emphasis as though this were clearing things up, "my head gets fuzzy." This seemed to be the best relation he could make to the imp. He allowed himself to be grabbed my Zerah, fingering the ooze for a moment and frowning, "Tar?" He said a little accusingly, but seemed to be lost in awe that Zerah could touch him. He hadn't noticed it before in the woods, it hadn't seemed like a big deal at the time, but things were finally starting to click for the toddler and he realized how precious being able to just touch someone was. He wanted to keep running his fingers over the imp's strange limbs but was placed on the floor a few moments later. He picked his cloak back up and snapped the pendant back in place. It took a good minute for the illusion to flicker back into place, but he wasn't aware of this. He beamed back at Zerah and pumped a small first in the air. "Right! Let's do it! Let's be heros!"
