Rylan looked around at all the faces in the guild, most of which were glaring or unconcerned, until his eyes stopped on Oxy. He looked back up towards everyone and began to speak. "Uh...I've decided to leave the Shadow Slayers.. I can't seem to be anything but an absolute asshole around everyone I come in contact with these days. Perhaps it's from being away from society for so long or perhaps I just don't get along with people. Either way, I'll only bring the team down if I stay, so I'll be leaving in the morning, after I sleep for the night. I have people I need to meet up with anyways, family who may still be alive, who are expecting me home any day now. Haha after they see this leg, they'll be pissed! Thank you for the opportunity to work with you, Kama. I'm sorry that I upset quite a few of you.. And Oxy..." Rylan knelt down next to the small child and held out his hand, in it, a rather large, colorful rock. "I hope you can forgive me, too. I'm not sure what sort of things you like, but I hope you like this." He placed the rock down at Oxy's feet and got back up. "It was very nice meeting those of you I did, and those of you I didn't, I'm sorry I didn't have the time. I'll be over in the woods if anything comes up, although, I'm sure you won't need me, hehe. Sorry to interupt the campfire." Rylan began walking back towards the tree he had left his supplies under. Celty stared at him in disbelief. She sat down quietly and stared into the fire with a blank expression. Her mind was racing but she couldn't think of what to say or do. Rylan was leaving, she should be happy, and yet she felt so terrible. She was worried about being forced from the guild, but never wanted to be the reason someone else lost their home. Her eyes watered and a tear slipped down her cheek, but she continued not to move. What had she done?Oxy picked up the colorful rock and starred at it for a moment before running over to Rylan. He stayed quite a few feet back, holding the rock tightly in his hand. He looked at it and then back up at the man. "...P-Play?" He managed to say in a shaky tone. It was clear that Rylan was not in a playing mood, so he sat down nearby, looking sad. "Mister, I'm sorry." He whispered. "I don't mean to be bad." He bent his head down. "I'm sorry....I'm really sorry..."

Manasa stood in shock, taking to blows one right after the other. Tears flooded out of her widened, golden eyes, as she turned towards Oxy. "Y..you..." She had no idea he was the cause of all of this, she was simply connecting her two sources of grief and looking for an outlet. Why was Rylan so sympathetic towards it?!
The weight of emotions pressing down on her being were more than Manasa could manage. She hobbled over to the closest tree, Audible sobs now marking her presence. Manasa leaned against the tree as a cocktail of disgust, rage and sorrow rose from her gut and into her mouth until it became unbearable. Manasa doubled over and retched.

Rylan looked over at Oxy, tears welling up in his eyes. After all this....after everything he'd done.....
"Why, Oxy? Don't apologize. This isn't your fault. None of what has happened is your fault."
Rylan looked back towards the campfire, and smiled.
"Oxy, I want you to promise me something. You keep everyone safe, okay? Make sure they're safe and that no one gets hurt. Can you promise me that?"
Rylan smiled and went to pat Oxy's head, but stopped. He didn't want Oxy to have another fit. Rylan could hear Manasa's cries. He became wide-eyed and felt a knot bigger than ever forming in his stomach. He hadn't meant to hurt her.
It's for the best.....it's for the best....
Rylan said this over and over to himself, as though he was trying to convince himself that this was the right choice. He looked back to Oxy.
"You should go see your mother, Oxy. She's probably worried about you..."

Just a moment ago everyone was laughing and enjoying themselves, but suddenly the atmosphere had gotten serious, and so did Kama. He got up from where he was sitting with an angry look on his face. He wasn’t pleased with what Rylan was saying. “So that’s it huh? You came all this way to quit over a little guilt? Are you telling me that this is all it takes for you to stop fighting for everyone on Ignis? Let me ask you something before you leave... what do you think it means to be a hero? Do you think you were born to be a hero?” Kama awaited Rylan’s answer as he tightened his grip. He had a feeling that Rylan was going to give him the answer he didn’t want to hear, but only time would tell.

Ooro watched as the tiny healer chanted and pointed his staff at her.
Her ears perked up, surprised by how short the process was. She bent and stretched one arm, carefully testing the joints on each finger. No stinging, aching, or soreness could be felt. Y-yeah! You work wonders!" A smile spread across her face in amazement as she glanced at Rezza with wide eyes.
Ooro returned her gaze to the fire, seeing Rylan had made his way over. She quirked an ear- An annoucement? What for?
...Ooro's jaw had dropped. It was possible she didn't have enough extended interactions with him, but the ones she did have she never considered him "an asshole." Were he and other recruits bickering? Was it seriously bad enough for him to leave? He was pivotal in their last battle- being the one who deflected Fearos' beam and all. What happened between them? No matter how much she questioned it, she didn't seem to have an answer...
Then, Kama spoke up. While he was just enjoying himself moments ago, his face hardened into a serious glare. She could feel the tension rising at the fire, and her ears drooped nervously. She remained silent, waiting to see how Rylan would answer Kama's inquiry.

Hero.....
That word rang in Rylan's ears for a moment, filling him with a mix of anger and guilt, making his stomach churn. He began walking back towards the camp, motioning for Oxy to follow him.
"Come on, Oxy, we're going back to the campfire."
He felt the anger building up inside him, but that anger was quickly subsided when the thoughts of the ritual entered his mind.
"You're going to be a hero, Father Rylan. This is your purpose."
Rylan stood a few feet away from the campfire now.
"I am no hero, Kama. I am not now, nor will I ever be. Nobody is born a hero, and I will not be one of those who DO become a hero. It's better off for everyone if I leave. I don't want to trouble anyone anymore. You all are much more capable to help Ignis than I am. Me leaving will have no affect on the team. I'm not leaving out of guilt, I'm leaving so the team is not slowed by me and my negativity and inability to interact with people."

He quickly paused to wrap his cloak around his hand, finally seeming to be more aware of what he was doing. He grabbed Rylan's bandaged hand with his own covered palm and tried to give the man a smile. "You saved us," he said, "but if you gotta go, you gotta."

Manasa looked up at the priest, wiping away at her face with her cape, though it quickly became messed again with tears. "No... please..." She responded in a raspy voice. It was weak, fragile, a voice one would never imagine to hear out of a Vishkanyan. She tried so hard to find the words for her argument, yet all she could do was stare at the child... the creature next to him in horror.

Kama became furious with Rylan's answer. He was being stubborn and unwilling to accept that Rylan was planning to leave the guild. He shouted at the top of his lungs "WRONG ANSWER!" He was ready to punch Rylan in the face but held himself back as he explained "A hero is someone who screws things up. A hero is someone who does terrible things. A hero is someone who slows people down. But you wanna know what separates a hero from a coward? A hero redeems themselves. A hero is someone who keeps making mistakes again and again and again until one day they succeed at changing the world. I'll find a way to make this team work together no matter how many sacrifices I have to make, because THIS GUILD THAT STANDS BEFORE YOU IS THE GUILD THAT WILL CHANGE THE WORLD AND SAVE IGNIS!"
He took a deep breath and said quietly to Rylan while looking down "So let me ask you one last question before you leave... are you gonna take the easy way out and leave now... or bear the pain of hurting your comrades, redeem yourself, and fight for justice? Are you gonna take the path of the coward... or the hero?"

Kama's speech hit Rylan hard. His eyes began to tear up as he tried to get words out. But he couldn't. He just stood there in silence. Kama was right... Rylan looked down at Oxy grabbing onto his hand, smiling up at him. Tears began to stream down Rylan's face.
I don't.....I don't want to do this.....
Rylan wanted to say that he didn't want to be here. He wanted to say he wasn't cut out for this. The truth of the matter was....he was utterly terrified. He couldn't stop shaking, guilt and fear building up inside him.
Rylan looked down at Oxy, and back to the rest of the Guild.
"I......I guess....I could stay..if that's okay with the rest of the guild...."

The old man was currently busy with whatever was happening, so he approached the woman sitting with Enoch. He plopped down on the opposite side of her, looking her over a small amount as he placed his staff on the ground temporarily. "Hello," Pulling out his journal again Rezza looked up at her. "I do hope I am not interrupting anything, my name is Rezza Light. I can see that you appear rather battered from the battle that you all seem to have just endured..." He paused slightly looking down at the journal he had placed in his lap, before clearing his throat. "I may have the ability to assist in fixing any possible physical ailments you may have, but first could I possibly ask your name?" Not waiting for any response he went to work recording the other people he had met so far.

Not waiting for any response he went to work recording the other people he had met so far. Daryn, in the middle of chewing when this question was asked, attempted to speak. "Da-" She coughs. "Daryn. And uh, the only thing I'm in need of right now is energy to move my legs. That will come with time, so I don't think you'll have to waste your magic on me. That is, unless you really want to. I mean-" Daryn swallowed, embarrassed. She definitely wanted to be healed, but it seemed a little pointless when all she needed was rest. She suddenly remembered the burn she received on her hand from helping Manasa. "I wouldn't- I wouldn't oppose if you really wanted to help me. I guess I have more than just 'exhausted legs' wrong with me. You're the one who helped Enoch, right?"

"I......I guess....I could stay..if that's okay with the rest of the guild...." The old man sighed. It wasn't clear whether or not this was an angry sigh. It was somewhat hard to read Kama's emotions at the time. He said to Rylan "Of course it's okay with them. You helped to save our lives." Kama walked over to Rylan and put his hand on Rylan's shoulder as he said "This time... you chose the right answer. Welcome back to the guild champ." A huge smile was on Kama's face now as he was proud of his guild member for continuing to fight by their side, despite the pain and suffering that Rylan had to endure. He knew that Rylan would have a hard time working with the others, but he saw potential in Rylan. He saw himself in Rylan. Kama himself did many terrible things when he was young. He wasn't good at working with others back in the day, but he experienced that being a hero doesn't mean always doing the right thing. It means doing the wrong things and learning from those mistakes. Maybe someday Rylan would become a hero as well. Kama had high hopes for him. The elderly man turned over to face his guild and tried to lighten the mood by shouting "So who's up for some rum, meat, and crazy campfire stories huh? I've got plenty of alcohol to go around! Let's get Rylan over here piss drunk HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Rezza's eye's brightened at Daryn's response as his hands moved to scribble more in his journal. "Miss Daryn, wonderful." He chuckled and placed his journal back in his bag. Her statements raised an eyebrow, however he could understand why she would initially claim all she had was exhaustion. This was with information only he knew about the amount of energy the different techniques took however, with the mending of injuries and broken limbs requiring more energy in general. "Ah, yes mister Enoch was in need of my assistance. It was nothing too hard to fix, as I am sure whatever problem you have is as well."

"Uh, I have some sort of burn on my hand. I was healed before it happened, so I have no battle injuries that need attention. Uh, there's- not really much else." Daryn looked down as she unwrapped her hand. It looked worse than it had before, but her ointment had at least alleviated the feeling it would have given her.
"So. You got a name?" She looked at him expectantly. She ignored the announcement of alcohol and stories from Kama. She didn't care much for stories, and alcohol could only serve to give her a headache in the morning. That was the last thing she needed.
