Dammit! Myrri thought, watching her blasts miss the mother. ((In response to lodestones shooting fire and mother charging)) Myrri watched in horror as fireballs came down upon her friends, and turned toward the mother to see one coming at her. She stood, shocked, as the roaring blaze bore down on her. She didn't have time to dodge, so she whipped out her gun and shot a beam from it. It collided with the fireball's center, sending waves of heat rippling out from the collision point. As the fire flowed around her, some of the Flames came too close and singed her. She grunted in pain as her left hand got a particularly nasty burn.

Sparrow spun around, pulling up a large glass barrier in front of the trio. The glimmer than looked up at the lodestones in the air with a grimace. They weren't good crystals, they made mean and hurtful noises. Sparrow formed a platform under his feet, and then another raised in front of him. The glimmer stepped forward onto the raised platform, shifting his weight from one to another. As he did so, the previous one changed position, becoming the next higher step. The glimmer continued this until he had made it 20 feet into the air and in range of one of the crystals. Drawing the shards from the shattered cube below him the glimmer formed three large spears which he then directed at the one of the lodestones as quickly and powerfully as he could, a small shield drawn in anticipation of what might happen next. Uldrix watched in horror as Sparrow raised himself above the barrier, once more out in the open and an easy target. He scrambled up, his talons sliding haphazardly across its surface. He had trouble holding onto the top, but he only needed his head to peak above it so his attacks wouldn't shatter the barrier. He focused in on the sound wave produced by the giant lodestone crystal. He waited only a moment for Sparrow's attack to be fired off to ensure he wouldn't disrupt his attack before releasing a build up of sound in the direction of the crystal, hoping both his attack and Sparrow's would be enough to at least redirect it somewhere else.

Freyja was slowly getting more and more agitated with this fight. It wasn't particularly hard to fight these creatures around her, or even the Mother itself. It was more tedious. As though it was trying to keep them away from the tower. This didn't matter, as Freyja was ready to end this fight once and for all. Witnessing that The Mother was caged up by Spica for even a moment gave the woman the perfect opportunity. She created stone footholds and began sprinting once more, going nearly as fast as she had in the town the night before. Freyja let out a long battle cry as she sent herself flying towards the beast's mask. Steam erupted from her right arm as she swung with all her might, slamming her fist directly into the Mother's lodestone atop its head. The lodestone shattered, and with it the rest of the lodestones covering the beast's body disappeared. The lodestones suspended in the air shattered, and the clay beasts that had once been attacking dissipated. The Mother collapsed, still breathing. The Mother was attempting to get up, ready to try one more attack, but it was too late.
Freyja turned her back to the beast and waved her hand up. "Finish it off, people."
The attacks Uldrix, Rory and Sparrow appeared to do absolutely nothing, with Sparrow's glass spears shattering on impact, Uldrix's sound waves bouncing off in different directions, and Rory's metal fist barely scratching the surface. After each of their attacks, however, the lodestones shattered, so it appeared that they managed to destroy them. Spica was right, and the Mother had attempted to escape the pen. With the last of its strength, it began to thrash around, trying to break the cage it was encased in, when it was skewered by the two large crystals the young which had prepared. With the beast now immobile, there was nothing it could do against the two attacks coming its way. Robin's attack electrocuted the beast from head to toe, the monster letting out a agonizing shriek. The plasma Kyanalurin shot hit the beast right in the head, the creature going limp upon impact. The Search Party managed to defeat their first beast. It was a victory.
Freyja watched as the beast finally met its end, no emotion on her face whatsoever.

At last. The battle is over. Monaiya was happy that it's finally over. She is greatful. She ran towards Myrri to give her a victory hug. "Myrri! We made it!"

The team had done it. Through the combined efforts of many of the fighters they had destroyed the beast and flames no longer rained down upon them. This last part brought Murm relief as he looked out on the battle from behind the protection Pumilus had provided. Stepping forward he set a hand firmly on Pumilus' shoulder. "You did it. No matter how much you did in battle, you are to thank for me keeping my life. You have my gratitude, little Pumilus." The man let his hand slip from the android's shoulder and took a few steps toward the area that many of the others seemed to be located. "Perhaps we should regroup with the others. It's not hard to imagine that someone could have gotten hurt, it is likely I am needed." Giving a short look back, Murm glanced at Pumilus before continuing to stride forward.

Myrri turned to saw Monaiya rushing towards her, but before she had time to move, Monaiya had her arms wrapped around her and was giving her a hug. Myrri froze, growing up she was never shown any affection and was always scorned. This purposeful display of friendship and emotion was unheard of. Myrri slowly returned the gesture, and, despite her years of trying to bury her emotions, found herself trusting this almost stranger. Myrri winced as she tried to move her left arm and quickly let go of Monaiya. She gritted her teeth as she looked at the burn, a viciously red swath of skin that hurt when she moved it. 'I'm glad it's over, but I'd be even more glad if I could get a healer right now.' She looked at Monaiya and grinned. She braced herself and went against everything she had learned in her years as a rouge. 'I'm glad you're okay.'

Upon seeing the team's victory, Sparrow was once again met with a complex emotion. He slowly descended down his glass staircase, head hung low. The glimmer shuffled towards the remains of one of the lodestone creatures, picking up two of it's broken fragments and trying to piece them together like a puzzle.
it was of no use.
The crystals dropped to his side, his head still hung with guilt. Killing was a bad deed, and while he himself did not partake in it he could have done more to prevent then struggle between both sides. The flyer said that the team would be going out looking for a tower, not killing. The glimmer felt lied to, betrayed. Were his friends bad people?

Freyja brushed her hair out of her face, he face now coated in dirt and sweat. The battle had finished, but it was far from a victory. That took much too long, there was no coordination, no attacking on one front, NO UNITY!! Freyja scowled at this, but quickly calmed herself as she looked in the direction of Heaven's Spire. "Just one more day of this, and we're done..." She mumbled to herself. She'd prefer to run ahead and reach the tower, but due to that shameful display, it was likely this group would need rest before heading out again. Freyja herself was getting to that point of exhaustion, so perhaps it was in everyone's best interest. "ALRIGHT! LISTEN UP!!" She started to yell again "THIS WAS A VICTORY, YES, BUT DO NOT LET IT GET TO YOUR HEADS!! THE ENEMY COULD REAPPEAR AT ANY TIME, SO STAY ON GUARD, AT LEAST SOME WHAT!!" Freyja peered around at the now burnt and destroyed section of the town they were standing in, surprised they managed to keep the damage to a minimum. "WE'LL BE STAYING IN ZIL'CARM FOR THE REST OF TODAY, AND BE HEADING OUT AGAIN TOMORROW!! HEAVEN'S SPIRE IS RIGHT THERE!!!" She motioned over to the tower roof, poking out in the distance, just above the enormous tree tops. "WHILE STAYING HERE, DO NOT DISRUPT ANYTHING!! THIS IS ESSENTIALLY A BURIAL GROUND, AND SACRED CITY TO THE DWARVEN PEOPLE!" She remembered something of extreme importance the last time she came her, and felt it was necessary to tell the group. "YOU CAN GO ANYWHERE IN TOWN, BUT DO NOT GO TO THE CENTER OF TOWN! THERE IS THE TREE OF ZIL'CARM THERE, AND YOU ARE NOT TO GO ANYWHERE NEAR IT!! IS THAT UNDERSTOOD?" And with that, Freyja sat on the ground. She would rest for a bit, and move on to find an inn later on. Main Objective
You have downtime as of now. You may have your characters explore the town of Zil'Carm and interact with one another. (If anyone who hasn't joined the RP wishes to, you can message me at this time and I will find a way to add your character in.)

He gave the battlefield one more quick look before turning to face her once more with widened yet featureless eyes. "Why did we kill them? Killing is bad," Sparrow asked, hoping to understand the situation better.

"Why did we kill them? Killing is bad," Sparrow asked, hoping to understand the situation better. Uldrix jumped down from the glass barrier shortly after their enemy was defeated. He hadn't cared that his attack hadn't redirected the lodestone. It was destroyed by something and was no longer a threat to his...his... His what? He looked at the glimmer who was sadly trying to piece one of the lodestone creatures back together. He only could tell by the clanking of the shards, and it made him agitated that sympathy was being displayed to something that had tried to cause them harm. He chose to remain quiet. When Sparrow approached their leader, he was quick to follow. Even quicker to answer. "Killing is necessary." His voice was emotionless and cold. "If an enemy presents itself you must strike. It is not about what is good and what is bad. It is about survival."

It was simply self defense. If they hadn't attacked us, there would have been no reason to fight." She shrugged. "Don't dwell on it too much. They were the equivalent of golems in Shakwen. A mindless work force, working for a much higher power. It just so happened their 'higher power' was a dangerous one." Freyja scratched the back of her head, trying to think of a better way to explain this, but was drawing a blank. "We only kill if necessary. We only kill if violence is the only answer." She stated

Sparrow had still convinced himself that the creatures they had fought were indeed glimmers like himself, and like himself had emotions and souls. Before he had left the Glimmer Void, the older glimmers told him that hurting people was wrong, that there was always a peaceful solution to conflict. Yet what his leader was telling him contradicted that. It was all too much. A hiccup escaped the small glimmer's frame as speckles of crystal started to pour from his eyes. He hadn't the proper answer, Sparrow was left at a complete loss.

Uldrix's cold demeanor melted in an instant, the tension from the battle giving way to an almost maternal instinct of protection he'd never felt before. "No, no, stop that." Uldrix whimpered, his tone oddly mirroring the glimmer. He pushed his beak against the side of the creature, visibly shaking. "Stop it, please." It was as though Sparrow's sadness was physically hurting him. His behavior had done a complete flip in only a matter of seconds.

"Vera!" she shouted and separated the two arms once more, swooping down towards her. As she neared the draconid, she quickly flapped her wings to slow her descent. "Are you okay!?" Her scaly buddy seemed to be struggling, weighed down by the armor that had reached an almost molten state from a fireball impact. The harpy bit her lip and focused her mana onto the metal of the armor, tightening up the chestplate once again and molding into what she hoped was close to its original shape. But appearance aside, it would fit the woman in a much more aerodynamically than in its current loose state. "Better? "Yeah..." She nodded to the harpy before taking off again, remembering to make more of an effort to avoid heat in case the metal would expand again. She kept depleting her sources to hopefully divert the fire balls to their targets until a peculiar event occured. The lodestone formations tumbled down on their own, and the rest of the party were doing their part to destroy the monster. A wave of disappointment washed over her when the Mother toppled over, since her efforts proved utterly worthless. She let herself drop to the ground, barely caring that the monster was dead, and seemed to wallow in a moderate depression. She let her weary body limp to a nearby tree and laid down on its trunk, humming the same tune she had previously in the training field. Home... Leaving was a mistake.

Robin watched as The Mother crumbled upon the force of the teammates, doubling forward as they did so. They had already used two of their strongest charges and within a short interval, causing their mana to deplete more rapidly. Luckily, Freyja had allowed a resting period as long as they didn't want to the center of town. Robin didn't mind, they weren't there for some ancient tree. With that, they took a seat seeing that their legs were beginning to fail them once more. Glancing behind their shoulder, they could see "Monaiya" and "Myrri", as they called one another. The pair celebrated their victory with an embrace, albeit one of them hesitated to reciprocate. "...Thanks for the teamwork, you two," they nodded. If Monaiya hadn't used her wind lodestone after all, they would have probably been burnt to a crisp. Myrri had assisted at keeping the other beasts at bay, and by the looks of it, suffered from a rather nasty singe on her hand. Robin hadn't met their designated medic yet, and had no idea where to begin searching. Nor did they have the energy, being that they just sat down to rest their legs. Getting up would be a pain. Instead, they inhaled deeply, before bellowing out, "We could use the healer over here!" They didn't really care to raise their voice much, but they couldn't be bothered with taking a stand as of the moment. Though, they did want to help a recruit that helped cover them.
