Nursery Rhyme looked around at his allies before raising his hand. "I'll go first!"
With a wave of his hand, his Storybook popped into existence in front of him. Floating it above his head for all to see, Nursery Rhyme began his explanation:
"I am the guardian of this book. Inside, it contains hundreds of nursery rhymes created by the people of this very world. If I recite one of the poems out loud, I'm able to manifest it's power into something physical. Though with current events, I'm severely limited with the amount of poems I can use. My existence, as well as this books, depends entirely on the belief of other people. As it stands... there aren't enough people in the world to give the rhymes a meaning...."
Waving his hand again, the book disappeared. "Well, hopefully we can change that, right?"

Name: Nyllida (Nyle) Stonto Age: 21 Race: human Gender: she/her Appearance: (5'8'') Abilities: Fire mage, generally physically capable with upper body strength, carpentering, hunting(slightly) Short History: Nyle grew up with two younger siblings, second most magically talented of the three, being weaker than her younger brother but much stronger than her younger sister. There was sibling drama between herself and her sister. She was very close with her brother, who was the youngest. When the thorns came, her brother was the first to die of their trio by overexerting his magic to protect their sister. Nyle and the sister then had to team up and work together to run from the thorns, and for the majority of the month they were successful, until a little over a week ago they were once again overwhelmed by the thorns. Nyle managed to escape but not before her sister died. After using her fire magic to escape at a faster pace (like rocket shoes but not) she was able to carry her sister away and bury her. Nyle didn't have much to keep going for after this, getting by hunting with her fire magic and continuing to run from the thorns. She saw the beacon and was drawn to it in hopes of helping other survivors, since she can no longer help her younger siblings. Other: She was a carpenter before the thorns and carries around her work hammer and other supplies in her bag. She also likes to collect things believing every object metaphorically holds someone’s love. She thinks liars are the worst and hates when people are taken advantage of.
Nyle came upon the group just as the blonde man spoke up asking about fighting abilities. She was hiding out waiting to see the intentions of the Beacon, and decided from what she'd heard so far it had likely been lit to round up survivors. She had already been fighting the thorns so often and didn't look forward to doing any more of it. She had only just escaped her last dangerous encounter about a week ago, when- well. More fighting should have been expected, she supposed. They can't rebuild without first exterminating the current problem to create a safer foundation. Nyle stepped forward, finally deciding to approach. "So what makes all of you special?" the man laughed. Nursery Rhyme looked around at his allies before raising his hand. "I'll go first!" With a wave of his hand, his Storybook popped into existence in front of him. Floating it above his head for all to see, Nursery Rhyme began his explanation: "I am the guardian of this book. As it stands... there aren't enough people in the world to give the rhymes a meaning...." Waving his hand again, the book disappeared. "Well, hopefully we can change that, right?" Nyle certainly came in when an interesting moment was happening. She was intrigued by the book summoning and hadn't seen anything like it before. She waited to see who she assumed to be the leader's response to both the action and her appearance.

((Gotta make good on my promise then =,) )) Name: Vel'Ari Gorromir Age: 155 (32 human years) Race: Altaran Aelfin Gender: female Appearance: Height: 7"6' Abilities: Her arms are incredibly strong, and can extend out from her body in the form of flexible branches and vines, used to choke and hit enemies. Short history: Vel'Ari was always very protective of her home. She was born of two nature magic users, and was chosen by her clan due to her magic ability to train to become a guard. This bred her militant and authoritarian nature. She protected her sacred land with her life, using the nature around her for protection. One day, when she decided to badly mix nature with science, she mutated herself horribly, creating her arms and the leaves coming from her left eye. She was cut off from using all nature for magic aside from the tree bark and vines on her mutated arms due to this. When the thorns took her home and most of her clan, she was utterly crushed and had nowhere to go for the longest time, and has been wondering the land in search of help. Other: if you puncture or pluck a leaf off her face, it will hurt. The Altaran clan has a reputation for being incredibly territorial, to the point where any unauthorized person stepping into their land would have been terminated on the spot. So if someone were knowledgable about they Altaran clan, they would know their reputation of unfair prejudice as murder of any poor soul that happened to walk by. -------- Vel'Ari's continued her desperate search for shelter, fearing the spiky pests that she would have ignored months ago that now held the title of her mortal enemy. The lit beacon crawled into the corner of her vision, causing her to snap her head in the direction of the light. peopleVel'Ari, understanding fully that these people were unlikely to be members of the Altaran clan, she rushed forward putting her prejudices aside. Seeing the crowd forming around the are she had made her way into flooded her with relief, as a light smile crawled onto her face. Vel'Ari continued forward until she had asserted herself in the crowd with her presence and spoke up. "Greetings. I am Vel'Ari. This beacon was for the purpose of showing those who were lost like...myself, right?" She inquired, unsurely to the nearest stranger. She sighed internally, as she saw no other Altaran around. That was to be expected, so she had to swallow her pride for at least a little bit.

Leander was mildly displeased at the change in tone, releasing the ivy from his grip. "Yes, I can." He answered simply, crossing his arms with a raised eyebrow. He noted Poppy saying she didn't have any offensive abilities and leaned down next to her, a gentle smile on his lips as he ruffled the top of her head as though she were a small child. "I can protect Poppy, she has very nice songs." He said. In one fluid motion, he scooped her up and placed her on his shoulders. "There. You can play good songs from here." He bounced lightly on his feet, humming one of the tunes she'd sang earlier with his eyes closed, looking at peace with the world. He stopped his humming only for a moment to glance up at her. "And now you sing, Miss." Poppy was startled when she felt herself being suddenly lifted from the ground, letting out a small yelp at first until she realized what was going on and giggled. Once she was placed atop Leander's shoulders, her eyes widened at the view. It was a whole different perspective of the world being so much higher up, despite it only being about 11 or so feet with her sitting on the triclops' shoulder. She looked down at the man and smiled. "Wooooooow! You get to see this all the time!? This is amazing! Everyone else looks like ants from down here!! You're so tall!!!" She cheered, pulling her lute out and beginning to play again. "Oh Heavens above, just out of my reach~! How to describe thee through mere human speech~? You tantalize us through merely existing~! And sing us your hymns for anyone lis'ning~!" She sang, her eyes now closed as she swayed back and forth with the beat. "Oh how I pray I can join thee one day~! In the beautiful mountains of clouds may I lay~! Into your captivating arms mybody will leap~! Upon your bosom, my soul shall soon sleep~!" With that last line, she let out a calming sigh, a single tear rolling from her eye as she looked up towards the sky. "Did you like that one? That's Heavan's Anthem. It's said to carry the souls of the deceased to a peaceful afterlife." She breathed a melancholy sigh. She solemnly grinned before looking back down towards the ground, noticing new individuals beginning to arrive. Her face immediately lit up as she leaned forward and called out in an obnoxiously loud voice for how high up she was. "HELLLLOOOOOOOOO DOWN THERE, TINY PEOPLE!! TIS I, POPPY THE BARD WITH MY GARGANTUAN BUDDY, LEANDEEEEEEEEER~!! TOGETHER, WE SHALL SQUASH THOSE THORNS AND BRING PEACE ONCE MORE~!" She called out before breaking into a laughing fit.

Name: Delphi Argyris Age: 22 Race: Human Gender: Female Appearance:Abilities: Support, specializes in healing and barriers. Her wand allows her to heal at a range, but can only be used to focus on one member when done so. Barriers may absorb blows for the targets, but the larger the barrier is crafted the less damage it may take before shattering. Short History: From a young age, Delphi was revered and honored for her healing gift- even so much as being put on a pedestal by her cloistered community. She was stowed away in a convent and was further educated in her abilities in hopes she would one day lead the establishment, despite voicing little opinion in the matter herself. When called upon, she performed her duties with utmost precision as was expected of her. When the thorns came the convent desperately struggled to keep itself together, and thus sent Delphi to become their "savior" upon sighting the beacon's signal.
Other: While somewhat carrying a stern demeanor, she seems to grow excited over small things. She likes to draw as well, but is embarrassed about showing her artwork. ***
An audible gasp escaped Delphi's lips as she had barely just approached the blinding source of the signal. While many figures appeared to be undoubtedly human, a pair undeniably stood loud and proud as upon the shoulders of a towering triclops was a woman who chortled with delight. Already had she begrudgingly began to accept her fate on the journey there, but now the peculiarity of the sight presented plagued her skull with second thoughts. The giant hadn't appeared harmful, and the cheery stranger, if anything, was enjoying his presence. Yet this had been one of the rare occasions she was allowed to scamper out into the world on her own, how could she not be a tad bit cautious? With a deep breath and furrowed brows, she boldly took a step forward into the crowd as she eyed the pair through her hood. Among them, two with rather... childish features aligned themselves with the group. Am I really in the right place? Children didn't necessarily strike her as battle-ready, and nor did she believe that those with an impressionable mind should be exposed to violence during such a fragile stage. Her eyes wandered from face to face, studying each individuals' features before being met with the silhouette of female with ghastly arms that sent a chill down her spine. Delphi backed a few spaces, trying to distance herself from the figure as she found herself unaware of just what she had just encountered. After gaining a suitable gap between them, she continued to listen in hopes of affirming her current location.

Storm Fly Yawned And Shifted Uncomfortably At The Question That Was Asked "Well I Can Some What Fight But Knight Does Most Of The Work For Me How Else Do You Think We Got Here?" She Quickly Stood Up From The Rock And Started To Stretch.
"Oh." Storm Fly Sounded Shocked " Well I Guess `We Would Wouldn't" Storm Fly Started To Giggle A Little And Put Her Doll On The Floor So It Sat Against The Rock She Was Sitting At And Started To Fiddle With The Ribbon On Her Coat.
Storm Fly Stopped Messing With Her Ribbon As Soon As Anden Said This And Excitedly Replayed "Ohhhh I Love Talking About This, Well It Runs In My Family But We Have The Ability To Summon Animals And Monsters To Help Us Fight Are Battles. My Mother And Father Where Brilliant Summoners And Could Summon At Least 5 Different Warriors For Them But I Can Only Summon One" She Quickly Grabbed Her Doll And Shoved It Into Anden's Face "This Is Him!" She Said With A Smile.

Waving his hand again, the book disappeared. "Well, hopefully we can change that, right?" "Hopefully so." Anden agreed "Though I've never heard of any of that." he admitted with a slight laugh. She Quickly Grabbed Her Doll And Shoved It Into Anden's Face "This Is Him!" She Said With A Smile. "Oh, I see!" the man responded, although not completely understanding. "Greetings. I am Vel'Ari. This beacon was for the purpose of showing those who were lost like...myself, right?" She inquired, unsurely to the nearest stranger. "I guess you could say that." Anden replied blankly. His face remained friendly and welcoming, but inside he was questioning. Nature users were widely distrusted among survivors he had encountered, and even though he hadn't personally run into any problems with them, the thought still crossed his mind. For the moment he decided to push it back and proceed as before. "Welcome, everyone." he opened his arms to the three newcomers. "We were just getting to know each other." he said "I'm Anden-" he cringed slightly at the loud yelling off to the side "-and, uh... I'm the one who lit the beacon." "Right now, Granite Castle is the safest place I can think of," he explained "but with all of us together... maybe we can do something more than just survive."

"Greetings. I am Vel'Ari. This beacon was for the purpose of showing those who were lost like...myself, right?" She inquired, unsurely to the nearest stranger. Nyle was surprised by the appearance of the plantlike being. She had been fighting so many plants lately they all carried the same feelings with her, anxiety. Instinctively she tensed up and this was visible in her body language as she spread her stance apart in case she had to fight or run. After hearing the woman speak and seeing that Anden-whose name she now knew- reacted without fear, she relaxed a little and allowed herself to breathe again. After another look around to everyone, Nyle was surprised by the differing cast of people, some so young and some so odd. She was amused about the bard who shouted her name to be Poppy, but was more concerned with other things at the moment. Sweeping her vision back around, she noticed the red hooded figure had reacted to the plant woman with fear as well. Perhaps this Anden was fearless, or foolish? She listened back to him as he spoke. "Welcome, everyone." he opened his arms to the three newcomers. "We were just getting to know each other." he said "I'm Anden-" he cringed slightly at the loud yelling off to the side "-and, uh... I'm the one who lit the beacon." "Right now, Granite Castle is the safest place I can think of," he explained "but with all of us together... maybe we can do something more than just survive." "I'm happy even just to survive. I'm Nyle," she said steadily, her stare shifting from Anden to the plant mage every few seconds. "I'm sure if we choose to stick together, our numbers will help both survive and-" she looked back at the plant mage, "succeed." There was an underlying message in her sentence, as she would not hesitate to fight and protect others if this plant mage decided to act up.

Panna let out a gruff laugh under his breath. "Huh. 'Special.'" Panna never thought himself that odd looking. He certainly wasn't dressed like a Toran, but not having been to his homelands in years he was probably out of date on the trends anyway. Were they still wearing sandals? Who knew.
Just as Panna was about to adress Anden's question a young girl entered the castle gates, followed by two others.
"And more come." Panna looked each newcomer up and down, each were equally as interesting to him, though for very different reasons. His eyes didn't stay on them long, however, as Panna quickly turned away to, once again, introduce him. "Well. I'll just be restating for the newcomers here that my name's Panna. It's a fine pleasure to meet you. As for out leader I do believe you asked us what sort of skills we have, yes?"
Panna pulled a small silver coin- a foreign currency he must have picked up on his travels, from the pouch at his side. He flipped and caught it effortlessly and then spoke to Anden once more. "My magic controls metal. It ainte anything impressive though."

"Right now, Granite Castle is the safest place I can think of," he explained "but with all of us together... maybe we can do something more than just survive." Though showing a visible expression of disdain on her face, she didn't comment on Poppy's yelling. She didn't catch on to Anden questioning whether to trust her or not, and gave a relieved expression at his seemingly wlecoming nature. "Thank you, Sir." she nodded, giving a polite bow of her head, muting the voice in her head telling her such politeness shouldn't be reserved for a human. She examined the diverse crowd a bit more and cocked an eyebrow at Anden's statement. "More than survive? If we were to go about 'fighting' the thorns, I'd be happy to join your cause. If that's what you mean, of course." she spoke, slightly relieved these people were most likely able to defend themselves. Nyle was surprised by the appearance of the plantlike being. She had been fighting so many plants lately they all carried the same feelings with her, anxiety. Instinctively she tensed up and this was visible in her body language as she spread her stance apart in case she had to fight or run. She noticed Nyle's slightly tensed behavior and sighed to herself. Figures. She would rather Nyle be afraid of her for her obvious Atlaran heritage, but it was most likely because of her plant-ridden form. She offered a warm smile to the other, in order to calm her nerves further. She didn't want people to be scared of her. At least not for now.

The affirmation was clear and matter-of-fact, the blonde man took the burden upon himself to bring them together. His features were rather rugged, being the badges of courage or possible foolishness nicked the surface of his skin. She wasn't sure to be impressed or stupefied at the fact the male risked nearly killing himself to have lit the signal, especially at the chance of no one even adhering to the beacon's cry. Anden surely couldn't have braved the path without assistance, but then were his original party among the crowd she stood in? The more her brain pondered and prodded at the scenario, the rapidity of her questions grew in response.
Alas, Delphi had ultimately reached the conclusion that had located the source of the call and promptly straightened her posture. Her own curiosity would have to be sated on different terms, as now she stood on behalf of the convent. Her lips parted as she drew her breath, arching her back forward as her palm graciously rested on her chest upon offering the bow. "I am Delphi Argyris, a healer sent on behalf of the Convent of Loukios. I offer recovery spells and barriers. My services are yours as long as we continue to cooperate," with that, she brought herself back to eye-level with the rest.

"A plant person fighting against nature? Hmm... interesting." Nursery Rhyme tugged on a piece of his hair as he stepped closer to Vel'ari, appraising the tall vegetable woman. "Ah! I suppose this would be like humans fighting against other humans, yes?" Rhyme made sure to exercise the appropriate amount of caution against Vel'ari. He was widely accepting of other people, but he knew that some people had hidden agendas that would put others at risk. Of course, Rhyme felt the same way about the others being that he only just met them, but there was something about this newcomer that... subtly alarmed him. "It is nice to meet you, fellow guardian! I am called Nursery Rhyme. I hope we get along!"
"Speaking of... what is our next course of action, now that we've all gathered here?

Of course, Nyle hated liars but the woman hadn't lied. Her appearance included plants so she could potentially be an enemy under the disguise of a smile, but that smile was too warm not to be genuine. As everyone else seemed to relax around Vel'Ari, Nyle relaxed as well, nodding toward the woman and looking back to Anden for more possible information or instructions. She made up her mind now, if they were going to group up she was going to try her best not to make anyone hate her. She already lived too much of her life like that.

"I wasn't born in a cabbage field, child. I'm not a plant." she spoke wearily through gritted teeth. She sighed at the other's disprespect, but she had to go easy. For all she knew, they were a child. "Those thorns took what I had from me, just like you. So please do not put me on the same plane as them." she said with the kindest tone she could muster. The enigmatic child introduced himself as 'Nursery Rhyme', which was admittedly an odd sounding name. But then again, she had little room to talk. "Pleasure to meet you too then, Nursery Rhyme.' Nyle relaxed as well, nodding toward the woman and looking back to Anden for more possible information or instructions. She made up her mind now, if they were going to group up she was going to try her best not to make anyone hate her. She already lived too much of her life like that. Glancing back over to Nyle, she let out a not-so-subtle sigh of relief. That's one bullet dodged.

Leander brought his hands up to his face to smother the booming "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" that flew from his lips to a relatively acceptable volume. He stomped his feet up and down giddily on the ground to get red of the excess joyous energy that Poppy had caused with her words. He seemed to gain control of himself after a little bit, but had missed out on the conversation around him during this time, only remembered what Anden had last said before his gleeful episode. "I am strong." He said simply. He then looked around for something to demonstrate his other ability on. A boulder nearby looked good enough for him. He moved towards it, making sure to set Poppy down gently first with another tiny pat to her head, before focusing his eyes on the stone. It suddenly seemed to float in the air, staying there for a few moments before crashing back to the ground so hard it created a small crater. "That is the other thing." He said with a nod. "I can....make things heavy and light." It wasn't a very technical way of explaining it, but it was the only way he knew how.
