Leander brought his hands up to his face to smother the booming "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" that flew from his lips to a relatively acceptable volume. He stomped his feet up and down giddily on the ground to get red of the excess joyous energy that Poppy had caused with her words. He seemed to gain control of himself after a little bit, but had missed out on the conversation around him during this time, only remembered what Anden had last said before his gleeful episode. "I am strong." He said simply. He then looked around for something to demonstrate his other ability on. A boulder nearby looked good enough for him. He moved towards it, making sure to set Poppy down gently first with another tiny pat to her head, before focusing his eyes on the stone. It suddenly seemed to float in the air, staying there for a few moments before crashing back to the ground so hard it created a small crater. "That is the other thing." He said with a nod. "I can....make things heavy and light." It wasn't a very technical way of explaining it, but it was the only way he knew how. Poppy noticed herself being lifted again from the gleeful giant, the girl giggling like a child at how ecstatic he seemed to get from her song. The pat on the head made her smile beyond what was humanly possible, thanks to her unhinging jaw, and she gave Leander a thumbs up. "Thanks, big guy!!" She then watched with baited breath as the triclops lifted a boulder with his mind and sent it back into the ground with enormous force, causing a crater to quickly form. "HOLY SMOKES!!" She grasped either side of her face before clapping. "That was incredible!!! You're one talented giant!!" She gleamed. Her eyes wandered off towards the three new individuals. Tension seemed to be growing with the new presence of the plant-like figure, the reasoning behind it going right over Poppy's head. But clearly something was wrong, right? And what better way to fix a situation with a beautiful song! Poppy began approaching Nyle and Vel'Ari, playing a slow melody on her lute. "Oh weary travelers, lay thine swords to rest~! There are plenty of armies for thine blades to best! You have journeyed quite far, from what I can tell~! So why not let all the strange tension quell~? We are brothers in arms, children of war~! There is no need to bicker like petty old..." Poppy stopped immediately, remembering how that song ended and immediately tensed up. "B-boars...." Saved it~!"Hiya! I'm Poppy!" She chimed, sticking her hand out to Nyle. "Its a pleasure to have you on the team!"

That was a lovely song, how long have you had that lute??" Nyle got straight into what she was interested in. She was so impressed by the thing, she was sure the girl put so much love and care into her lute with how well she played. "I-I'm Nyle if you didn't hear," she said after her breaths of excitement faded.

Poppy was ecstatic to see her enthusiastic greeting met with an equally excited hand shake. She grinned widely as Nyle introduced herself and got straight to talking about Poppy's lute. The girl looked down at her instrument and brought it into playing position. She strummed it a couple times, tuning one of the strings ever so slightly before answering the other woman's question.
"Its a pleasure to meet you, Nyle!! And this old thing? I've had it for yeeeeeeears! Since I was a little kid! I was always interested in music growing up, so my pops got me a lute so I could play and.. 'be useful,' as he put it, at the same time!" She snickered. "And now look at me!! The selfproclaimed BEST BARD IN THE WORLD~!" She cheered as she strummed her instrument excitedly a couple times.

Nyle didn't hide her excitement at all, and continued to gush. "That's amazing! And you've been able to keep it in such good condition!" She desperately wanted to take a look at the lute herself but as she barely knew anyone here, she'd rather not get the reputation of grabby hands. "And I wouldn't doubt you'd be the best bard in the world now, what with... er..." Nyle referenced the thorns and such in subtext, but didn't have the heart to finish her thought. "Well. I just don't doubt you're the best. Heheh..." Her hand moved behind her head to rub her neck sheepishly as she clumsily finished her thought.

Anden looked distracted for a moment, eyeing a section of the crawling horizon. After a few responses he suddenly snapped back to attention and picked up where the conversation had left off.
"I'm glad to have you here... all of you." he said, addressing the small crowd. "If we put all of our abilities together... we'll be stronger than any old legend for sure!" he concluded albeit in hyperbole.

Poppy chirped at the compliment, the girl's cheeks flushing up slightly. Even though there were clearly slim pickings when it came to bards these days, it was comforting to know that somebody thought she was the best. "But I'm not all talk! I'll prove it to you! I'll make sure to keep you safe and sing your song once the fight is over! Everyone will know our names!" She chimed. Poppy turned to their leader, listening to his encouraging words and pumping her fist into the air. "Hell yeah we will!! Those legends won't even COMPARE to how amazing we'll be!!" She spoke with confidence, turning back to Nyle. Her smile softened as she looked at the girl. "Right?"

Delphi shifted her weight between her legs, finding the air to thicken with tension as the seconds ticked. So much of this was already new to her- triclops? Children fighting? Their chances of possibly diverting society's downfall appeared slim in her mind, and their pompous optimism had only served to test her temper. Her eyes resisted the urge to roll under her mask. While certainly a few recruits did possess interesting talents... nonetheless it wasn't necessarily anything more "special" than what had been done before. Surely if that was the case- the thorns would have been culled long ago, but alas they proved to be a more formidable foe than initially estimated. However, because no one was "special" enough, they were now moths to the flame. Blinding oneself with the allure of praise and a haughty ego only brought them closer to the candle's wick if anything. Yet, Delphi clamped her jaw shut; it was not her decision in the end. ...Or at least, she tried to. While it definitely wasn't her idea to wander like a lamb being lead off a cliff, the shepherd's staff had already guided her way. If she was truly stuck here, and was apart of the team, then promoting a realistic sense of probability just might save a life. After all, there was always someone with their head up in the clouds as they charged into battle, blissfully unaware of the consequences that could follow. The convent stated simply for her to save them, not in any particular way of how to do it. While speaking out of term could be frowned upon normally, surely if done professionally and for the benefit of the group it would pose no problem? Her right foot meekly took a step forward, before breaking out in full stride towards the women.
Delphi swallowed hard before raising her voice, "I- Poppy, was it? While I'm confident your abilities are finely tuned..." she coughed into her fist, "I implore you to consider the possibility of failure." She straightened her posture with her arms planted at her side, staring headfirst at the woman, "Many a time will a warrior thrust themself into danger, only to be met with a cruel fate. It is important to view the situation as level-headed so one does not overlook threats and find themselves in a predicament. I encourage you to do the same." Her voice remained flat throughout the lecture, bringing her point across with little regard to the morbid implication of her words.

You remind me too much of someone not to do so... Nyle simply smiled in response to the boast. Delphi swallowed hard before raising her voice, "I- Poppy, was it? "It's true we should be aware of the dangers, but don't you think it's a good thing to have a good outlook on the future?" Nyle said without much thought, as the woman's attitude perturbed her. "If a job lacks refreshing spirits, then it's sure to fall over dampened ones."

Panna cleared his throat and stepped forward, alerting the crowd of his presence. "While I hate to damper the mood any further I must agree." He peered onto the group, taking in the younger appearances. Most of them had probably never face anything like this before, they had no scope of just how dangerous things truly were. Just how easily people died. Panna lifted what was left of his right arm for emphasis as he addressed his new companions; "I've been through a lot, I have. And I always did it on my own. But this... This ainte something I'll be able to survive all by myself. These thorns are bad news."

Poppy glanced from person to person as Delphi and Panna expressed their pessimistic outlook on the situation while Nyle seemed to be fighting for a middle ground. With her smile fading, she plucked at her strings a couple times and tuned them, due to Delphi's (most likely unintentional) pun. Once she strummed it a couple times, the melody soothing her ears, she looked back up at the group, trying to find just the right words to convey exactly how she was feeling about the whole situation.
".....NAAAAAAAAAAH, We're gonna kill it out there!" Her smile reappeared in an instant as she began playing a jovial tune. "I ain't got time for bad thoughts~! All I got time for is pretty tunes and pretty people!" She laughed.

Leander seemed to have lost interest in everyone once more now that no one was pointing out how wonderfully tall he was. He fell to the floor with a crashing 'thud', crossing his legs and staring up absentmindedly at the sky. "I miss the mountain birds..." He whispered to no one, a wistful look in his eye. His head snapped down, however, at the mention of death on the battle field. Of possible 'failure'.
"No one is allowed to die," He interrupted, even though Poppy had already done her best to move the topic along. "No one is allowed to." His voice shook a little it as he put his hands into fists and held them firmly on his knees, trying to stare down anyone who opposed him. The mean look in his eyes only held for a moment before they appeared to get wet, and his strong fist went limp as he raised it to his eyes to wipe at them. "There is dirt in the air." He said hoarsely. His hand fell back down and his shoulder's slumped forward as he tried to distract himself by drawing in the soil, not making eye contact with anyone. "Silly dirt..." He mumbled to himself.

Humans. Just being in their vicinity seemed to tire her out. She remembered why she so detested them, but she kept her mouth closed. They were so weak looking too caught up in shallow friendships. It perplexed her deeply the sheer pettiness of the children before her. Oh well, on the off chance that they actually knew how to fight, she needed some people to back her up. "Many a time will a warrior thrust themself into danger, only to be met with a cruel fate. It is important to view the situation as level-headed so one does not overlook threats and find themselves in a predicament. I encourage you to do the same." I believe you don't need to insult my intelligence in saying that these thorns are dangerous. Even a child could understand that." she grumped, annoyed with these humans stating the obvious and trying to show how smart they were. ugh. She hid all her (warped) thoughts about the species underneath a stone face, and showed no distaste for anything but Panna's statements.

One of the men from earlier approached, agreeing with her earlier statement only to be viciously lashed out upon by the peculiar floral woman. While at core she was basically agreeing with him, the woman met his words with a fervent animosity. It was an unsettling observation, being that the one with the afflicted limbs was so outwardly aggressive. Delphi turned her head away, finding her eyes to be focused upon a female figure.
The woman who introduced herself as "Nyle" met Delphi's suggestion with a swift rebuttal. Although her words strive for a possible midpoint, she couldn't help but assume her actions did not with the praise she showered on Poppy just moments ago. "Nyle, if I recall, were you not just offering words of vanity to the bard? The qualities of being pessimistic and realistic are different. However, thoughtless optimism can lead one astray if not careful and allow fate to whisk their soul prematurely. Claiming someone you just met-" as though unconsciously, her voice began to rise just ever so slightly, "-is naive." As her mouth slipped, her awareness snapped back into full throttle. She flinched upon the grim realization of her mistake. She pursed her lips as a silence overtook her for a few passing seconds, the thoughts in her mind stirring at a rapid pace. Normally she had meticulously monitored her script with scrupulously, but perhaps with the eyes of the convent gone she had felt just a tad bit more free. Yet the idea of apologizing was highly unappealing, and she had no desire to do so in the first place. With reluctance, she opened her mouth as to finish, "I rest my case."

This ainte something I'll be able to survive all by myself. These thorns are bad news." Nyle's attention was drawn to the man, one she hadn't particularly noticed when she approached the group earlier. Now with him waving around an arm that was lacking a few things, her heart dropped and she felt deep sympathies for him. When did he lose that? From what he said she assumed he wasn't born without it, and remembered everyone here must be aching just as much as she in many ways, some ways more. Everyone here must be trying so hard to keep up smiles, if they did show them at all. That's why they needed people like Poppy, ones who can help lift the mood when such memories weigh heavy on hearts. "Nyle, if I recall, were you not just offering words of vanity to the bard? The qualities of being pessimistic and realistic are different. However, thoughtless optimism can lead one astray if not careful and allow fate to whisk their soul prematurely. Claiming someone you just met-" as though unconsciously, her voice began to rise just ever so slightly, "-is naive." With reluctance, she opened her mouth as to finish, "I rest my case." Nyle's face morphed into one of pity towards the woman as she finished up her response. She must have been through a lot if her views were already so muddied. Premature death resided in Nyle's past concerning her own family, she was sure the reference to such a thing must have meant a lot to the woman. Her bitterness must have been some sort of mechanism to protect herself in these times. She would know that mechanism well, as it had been used against her before. "There's nothing wrong with a little compliment," Nyle said with a steady voice, though her heart still felt full of pity for those around her. "Loosen up. You're among friends here, if you choose us to be," She gestured a bit with her arm across to those around them. "What was your name again?"
